They are based in Bowie and our future home is in St. Mary's county (we close in January 2023); so thank you for traveling so far. Before we entered the property he explained in full detail what to expect and how long it should take. He took great pictures and explained as he performed all tests. He took great and up close picture of the roof, he was under the house in the crawl space, in the attic, the backyard, garage.... he was everywhere. Our basement is unfinished so I didn't think we needed to spend that much time there...wrong. He informed us we needed more insulation and other bits of information. When the inspection was over he provided us with a home maintenance manual and information regarding a security system because the previous owners did not have one. The inspection report was emailed to us very quickly. FYI, Earle Johnson is certified to work with NACA. If you purchase a home via NACA, you know they have very high standards. And I remember reading the report during the selling process and being extremely impressed with how thorough it was. It was the remark of my real estate agent that sealed my thoughts and ultimately my search for a home inspector when the time needed one - my agent said something to the extent of him finding literally every possible thing, items teeny tiny to the very large. I knew I would use EEHI when it was time to buy. And I did. 1st house (Falls Church, VA), we found many things - but one specific major problem. The sellers denied the claim and tried to brush it off as some other kind of incident, making it outrageously more minor than it was. I followed up with David and he clarified and confirmed that the what the sellers claimed, could not be close to possible. Neither party agreed to anything and the contract was void. That home also ended up testing well above allowed levels for both mold and radon. 2nd house (Annandale, VA), we found a bit, but thankfully, nothing major. Contrary to the other home, David cleared the home on many things, and even had to highly commend a few preventative care type things that were in place for the home. This was refreshing (as well as give me great confidence in those areas of the home) and showed me that David is a true expert with a professional fair mind. His ethics and work approach, as well as his skill and extensive experience are obvious when seeing him at work. He was extremely patient with me and my questions when I asked about a couple million of them, regarding each home. I took notes and learned all I could during the walk through. It wasn't all my asking, he volunteered a plethora of knowledge and information about the home along the way, also offering valuable tips and maintenance advice. However with my questions and curiosity, I am almost certain I extended the length of the inspection by an hour or more, per house. For starters, he never mentioned that the AC unit was not sufficient for the home or that the unit itself was a poor brand. It turns out that now we have to replace the 3 ton unit with a 4 ton which will involve ripping everything out and putting a new system in. The cost? Over $8,000. The sump pump. No heads up that it was an old pump and a cheap Home Depot brand. He glossed over the fact that the sump pump drains into the front yard causing water to run into the sidewalk. WINTER IS COMING and that water will turn to ice, creating a potential liability for us. He mentioned that having the sump pump drain to the front isn't uncommon. Well, none of my neighbors have this situation. He could have emphasized what a potential issue this could be. He knew I was an inexperienced home buyer, and unfamiliar with basements as they are not common in my home state. Total price of replacing sump pump and re routing the drainage? $2200 He did do a thorough job with the roof and the electrical portion of the inspection. I would not recommend him. He's costed us over $10,000 that we could have negotiated into the price or added to the contingency addendum. Today 10/14 we noticed something leaking from the kitchen to the garage, it's the refrigerator. What was supposed to be a new refrigerator was actually an old one. The front looked new but once we took it out to see where the leak was coming from, surprise! This thing is old and nasty. We are heading to Home Depot to get a new refrigerator.... More $$$$$$$ down the drain!

Conversation could have gone this way, and it would have been excellent customer service and i would have given a great review: Buyer: Hey Bobby, can you please look at these pictures and if you see something wrong here, i am not seeing this in the inspection report. Bobby: Oh my apologies, i must have missed that but let me come over to take a look and let you know if there is any water damage. Buyer: No worries, it happens. Thanks for offering to come over and take a look, that would be great since closing is tomorrow... He did not care.. did not want to take any responsibility.. now i am stuck with fixing the roof because inspection contingency was already removed from the contract. Contacted several roof companies, they all said the same thing, fascia board is missing and there is a big open space that need to be fixed. I do NOT recommend RPM Home Inspect's services."

Nola is by far the WORST home inspector I have encountered. I must admit I was a novice at buying a home this was my first home and I also had a heavy workload so I trusted Nola to inspect the home with my agent present. Well it comes to find out that I bought a home that literally just had patchwork done on it which means that the previous owner just patched certain things up to be able to pass an inspection but a really good inspector would've seen through that a good inspector wouldve seen that the garage walls were decaying, the floor boards have had previous water damage underneath and above. When I came to Nola after a month of moving into my new home and asked why he didn't catch certain things he replied with "you should've been there with me " and "it's your problem now"... He is the WORST.. When I said I would report him for being negligent he simply told me go ahead and try.. I am now stuck with a home that is falling apart... I would recommend NO ONE to work with this man.. He accepts no responsibility and just know that in my experience had I actually had a decent home inspector I would've never bought the home I am in.. So I thank him and his company for absolutely nothing and I warn anyone wanting to work with him or this company to run in The opposite direction. A little backstory: Let me just start saying that I really got the wrong pick of an agent when coming to Taylor properties. They do have some good agents that I wish I would've connected with however the agent that I got and that I worked with her name is Donna Burriss she is by far the worst real estate agent I have ever come across. I saved up for a very long time to buy my first home.. first of all I had to go online and find my own homes for us to look it and depending on the area she would literally tell me that certain homes were too far for her to travel. I remember sitting in my car with a laptop on my lap finding other homes to look at because Donna was not prepared and barely had any listings for us to view so I had to find properties myself. This agent was completely lazy, selfish and underqualified however because I was in a pickle and I needed to buy a house while I had the money to do so and get out of my rental I decided to keep The process going because I had a really good broker who was very consistent heartfelt and he helped make the process a bit easier however Donna as my real estate agent was by far my worst decision I could've made. Donna come to find out was not even registered as an agent in Maryland I didn't find this out until I started to sign my paperwork and realized that she was only licensed in Washington DC she legit had another agent on my paperwork to be honest working with her I realized that all she wanted was just to check and for me this is my life this was a place that I was supposed to call home and all Donna did was make the process more stressful and prove that not only she is a liar but she is incapable of actually being a decent real estate agent. I found a house that I thought was appropriate and soon after I moved in I realized that the house was trash . The inspector is a friend of Donna so when it came down to it his inspection was garbage. Now one thing I will say I take full accountability I should've been much on top of things but at that point it was my first house and I thought that I could really trust my agent especially the inspector NOLA.

During the second visit, I stopped asking for cost, just gave a to do list then paid with CashApp when done. Subsequent jobs it was hard to get a response as to day/time. Although he seemed nice at first, after the first visit, felt like he was annoyed by me or something. I brushed it off as resting b-face but then communication became harder. He gave an excuse of phone issues but it seemed to ding and dong when he was here. For today's list I pushed and prodded to get a day/time. I did say that I would be home all day in order to work around his schedule. He said arrival 9:30-10am. Great, errands popped up but I moved somethings around to accommodate his arrival. Well after no show/no call, he rings me at 11:50 to say 12:30-ish. At this point I'm done. Getting a response and day/time commitments wore me out. Why am I chasing behind someone to work? My lists are like $500 each and are less than 8 hours of work. Sadly the professionalism that we started with crumbled and died a slow death.
