I've been coming to this mall for many years, and you almost forget that this treasure trove of treats exist! I actually walked in because of how empty it was. Every time I think of sees candy, there's usually a holiday nearby and this place gets packed, with a line out the door. Fortunately, this was not the case and I was able to leisurely peruse their stock. However, after a few minutes, I became flabbergasted by how many types of chocolates this place has. Here comes Julian C to the rescue. He was able to describe and suggest various chocolates, from milk to dark, mint to raspberry and sweet to savory. His wealth of knowledge made me comfortable picking each individual chocolate for my half pound, nay, full pound of chocolates. He, nor the chocolates, disappoint! I stopped by a few days ago to buy four boxes of candy for Mother's Day.  I hadn't purchased candy from See's Candies in a long time, so I was a little surprised at how much the price has increased.  I purchased four half-pound boxes, which I hand-picked.  The person helping me did not offer me a sample, so I asked her after I was done choosing my candies if I could taste a sugar free option.  She gave me a sample of the dark chocolate bar, and it was delicious!  I was pleasantly surprised and will buy some in the future. read more

The holiday candies are out and I'm obsessed! Service is always exceptional, warm, and friendly. The samples are always delicious and great at making me buy more candy. Top favorites to try is definitely the lollipops and at $1.25 what a great treat. My favorites are the chocolate, caramel, apple caramel, and mint. If you are a sucker for dark chocolate and raspberry then definitely try the dark chocolate raspberry cream. It's my absolute favorite with milk chocolate Bordeaux coming in second. You can stop by and tell yourself that you're just browsing but we always end up buying more than we need. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They'll help you pick out just what you enjoy. They're also very generous with sampling so you make sure you're buying something you like. Found a new favorite called the Beverly today and also got hooked on the almond toffee one that's like an Almond Roca. My husband tried the very new Black Forest truffle and went home with a few of those plus some chocolate covered raisins. Picking out by the pound is a little more expensive than buying the pre-packaged assortments but worth it since you will get exactly what you want. read more

Me and my friend took turns ordering and the worker mixed up our chocolates, I asked for 4 pieces of brittle chocolate and he put the chocolates my friend ordered previously in my bag. When it came to paying my candy was $9. I was confused because I didn't get much but I ignored it and payed. Right after walking out I looked in my bag and said I only had one of the brittle chocolate when I asked for 4 and had 3 of my friends chocolate in me, we went back in and told them the mistake that had happened and that we hadn't touched or eaten the chocolate yet. There was a man and lady the previous workers and the lady had a rude attitude, she made faces when I brought up the issue and had a tone in her voice. The man who gave us the chocolates said that's what I asked for and I told him it wasn't. The lady and him kept denying it and said they served it in front of me but I had a hard time trying to see what he was putting in the bag. Before I had already order 1 brittle and then changed my mind and asked for 3 of the SAME ones after he put it in the bag which is why I'm confused and to why he would put the other chocolates. After telling them I realized they weren't even going to try and fix it or give me my original chocolates. They were rude and unhelpful. I was helped by Julian C. I have been going to this See's for 20+ years and today was the best service I've ever received. Upon walking in, Julian greeted me and asked if I had any questions. I politely said I was just going to browse the back wall and he nodded. I turned around and Julian had brought a sample and walked from behind the counter and presented it to me in the back of the store. I was floored. The level of attention to detail in Julian's service was impressive. He was equally attentive when I ordered chocolates by the piece, asking how many pieces I would like my fudge to be cut up in. Yelp 100 Challenge 2018 - # 9/100 This is one of the many reasons why I don't like going to the mall. This little shop of horrors. It's a horror to my figure. A horror to my blood sugar. To a serious chocoholic like me, a horror I just can't resist. Yes, I lie to myself, and walk by without so much a glance, but in reality it's location is already imprinted in my mind. And like a homing pigeon I end up gravitating to it after I make my rounds of the many stores in the mall. Giving up and stepping into the shop, waiting to hear the most wonderful words ever "welcome, would you like a sample?" FREE. CHOCOLATE. Music to my ears. I like Free. And I love chocolate. Heck yeah! The only thing that made me dock a star is the curt and abrupt service we had today. There were just two pairs of customers. The husband and wife before us who are being helped by an employee. And my son and I. I just felt that we were rushed into making our choices by the person 'helping' us. I mean I couldn't decide, everything looked so good. I was still perusing and she kept asking 'are you going to buy a box, or in a bag?' 'Would that be all?' 'Anything else?' Dang, can I choose in peace? Anyhoo, I take a bite of the free sample and calm myself, asked my son to choose, paid for our stash and dashed out of there. Came yesterday 15 min before closing. We had to wait in line because of social distancing which is fine. However the person that was in the store already was taking an extremely long time. (When we finally got in and we're checking out they were still there). After we first arrived in line there was a couple that came up to the line right after us. They limit three people inside. And they have three staff. The staff does where masks and gloves so that's great but only two were assisting the customers. We waited ten min before we finally got to go inside. What bothered me was that one of the staff told the couple behind us that they were closing now. And the couple said they had been waiting over ten min on line, the staff told them unfortunately they're closing and they can't come in. Pure disappointment on their faces. That was terrible customer service. Someone that was in line behind them was very upset and spoke on their behalf. She was explaining how incredibly unfair that was to send them away when she (the staff) had the opportunity to let everyone in line know that after a certain time they can't take anyone else. I one hundred percent agree. Instead of letting people Wait in line fully aware you won't be letting them in, why not just tell them "I apologize but after a certain time we can't let anyone else in" And let the customers make their choice to wait or not. I can't believe that happened, I would have been upset if it was me. Luckily we made it in in time. Second issue I wanted a milk chocolate box There was no more. I asked the other staff if she could then make one, she said yea but looked bothered. They need to control their facial expressions better. The person I was with mentioned I'm slightly allergic to nuts. She made the box quickly, we grabbed a couple treats and they even gave us extra samples. Guess what was in my box when I got home? They have lots of delectable small chocolates, chews, and truffles to choose from in the display case or prepackaged. I come in here of course for the free samples. During special occasions such as Valentine's, Easter, and Mother's Day, See's Candies decorates their shop and offers plenty of specialized gift boxes all set to go. I stock up on the regular favorites including the Peanut Brittle, Toffee, Little Pops (hard candy), Almond Royal, Mint Krispys, and chocolate gift boxes to bring back to the East Coast for my friends and family, where there are no See's Candies shops, though they do set up kiosks over there during the holidays only. If only I did not have to go to this mall to get to See's candy. This is the closest location to my home, but I only go here when I need a gift and don't have time to drive to a different location. The parking lot is a nightmare, and the mall is icky. It is hard to get in and out quickly here because you have to fight through the parking lot. If you can't get a spot near the entrance closest to this store, you are forced to go through the entire mall to get to this store. (minus 2 stars for the mall location) Once you get past all of that, the store itself is great. This store is clean and always well stocked. The staff are kind, pleasant and helpful. Free samples are a bonus. Everyone loves the chocolate here, and everyone has their own special favorite. They always have special packages for different holidays, which are cute and festive. They even have a sugar free selection. If only there was another See's nearby that was not in this mall! read more

In all Honesty, I Love See's Candies. See's Never Disappoints and I mean it when I say never ! I love to gift the cute treats and nicely packaged goodies See's has to offer to My Family & Friends on any occasion. Thus being said I came in on June 11th after a long shift at work. I came into See's looking to buy treats for two different reasons. One reason being because Father's Day is literally this weekend, and the other being because my Best Friend has been in the hospital and she was feeling under the weather so I wanted to create a little goodie bag of chocolate and treats to cheer her up a little. In all honesty I was extremely exhausted after work so I was looking around the shop thinking of what to get for a while and I mean a whileeee cause my brain was fried and in all honesty I couldn't think properly and WOW... THE HOSPITALITY & HELP I Received From the moment I stepped in up until I stepped out of this See's Candies Located in the West Covina Mall... was and still is just indescribable. I just want to express how grateful and thankful I am to all the lovely beyond amazing workers who helped me at this location. Every time I visit a See's Candy Store, I can't help but think about the I Love Lucy episode where Lucy & Ethel are working on at the conveyer belt, which was filmed at See's candy on La Cienega Blvd. Every visit to a See's Candy Store for me has been memorable. There's always excellent and courteous service by the workers who offer you a sample to try. Their stores are kept neat and stocked well and full of those delicious chocolate foodies. My favorite is the samples that you are offered the minute you walk through the door and that is how I discovered my favorite chocolate chip truffle, oh was it love at first bite, that I am now addicted to this little piece of mouthwatering and drool worthy piece of chocolate. So smooth and creamy and full of flavor that it just melts in your mouth. I have found my favorite chocolate. When my younger siblings and I walked in we were greeted but when we became ready to pick out chocolate the older woman at the counter came off as quite rude. When we picked out candy she'd silently add it to our bag and would ask if that's all but the second we changed our mind about a price or asked to add a little more she'd sigh and say "I guess I'll add another few pieces" she kept up with this sighing "I guess" attitude our entire visit which made it kinda nerve wracking to chose a piece of chocolate. Walking into my aunt's place today, a box of See's Candies was pointed out to me on the coffee table. I was then informed that I was given the errand of going to the West Covina Mall to exchange that box of candy for a custom made box. Eh? I moved out from my parents place and I'm still getting other people's errands? Hehe I didn't mind of course though since it meant being able to pick out whatever I wanted, and to eat it too! And so, since my aunt and uncle were busy playing mah jong, I went to exchange their box of See's candies...with the christmas wrapping paper still on it. When I walk into the store, I am automatically greeted by the girl behind the counter and offered a sample of the Mayfair, buttercream with cherries and walnuts. Mmmm...yummmyy....I actually liked it, and I usually hate cherry stuff. Oh and so did the 3 other people with me. Haha. I told her that I needed to exchange the box of chocolate I had, no questions asked she whips out a a form for me to fill out then proceeds to get me a box for the chocolates. And so ensues a frenzy of 4 people pointing at all different kinds of chocolates. Strawberry truffle, dark chocolate covered almonds and walnuts, polar bear claws, brittles, buttercreams, etc etc etc the list goes on. I've never picked out a custom box of chocolates before! 16.10 for 1 lb of chocolates! About 20 pieces or so of deliciousness! Mmm...I might just have to do this for myself one day.... 10 minutes later, the box is full, she tapes is up, bags it and away we go. The of the store is covered with prepackaged candy in cut packaging. Preassorted chocolates you can just grab and pay, lollipops see's style, and chocolate chocolate chocolate. Definitely will find something to make your mouth water. I love the old fashioned feel of see's candies. Their assorted chocolates are yummy, truffles aren't bad but not the best, and they always give you a sample. They will also let you sample chocolates as you are buying things, but as I was not dropping any money this visit, I would've felt bad doing so. Yummy yummy...a very dangerous store... As a regular visitor, it's long overdue that I give See's Candies a review. A trip to the West Covina mall is not complete without a visit to See's Candies. The simple white and black decor harken back to simpler times of an era gone by and gives the store a pristine and welcoming feeling. All the ladies that work here are as sweet as the candies they sell. They are always welcoming, friendly, smiling, and give off good energy. It's this level of customer service that other establishments should try to mimic. They offer a sample candy during each visit, which is great because it broadens my knowledge of what chocolates they offer (also it's really good chocolate!). At peak times during the year (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc.) the store does get understandably busy and during those times I notice the employees that work there do struggle to keep up with demand and do get fatigued, but I can tell they try hard to keep up their commitment to excellence even during the busy seasons. Five stars all around! On to the sweets. I'm a lollypop aficionado here, and most of the time mainly come into the store just for those. Of the traditional flavors, butterscotch is my favorite. My dad likes the chocolate lollypops, while my mom enjoys the café latté flavor. I've really enjoyed the seasonal lollypops this last year: root beer, apple caramel, pumpkin spice, chocolate orange, orange cream, holiday mint, and cinnamon! I don't have a favorite among the seasonal lollypops, they are all excellent and have their own distinct personalities and flavors. I recommend you try them all when they hit the shelves. If you are buying a box of candies, I definitely recommend truffles. You can't go wrong with truffles. Doesn't matter what flavor of truffle, they are all great. I never had a bad truffle. It is my recommendation if you are looking for a box of chocolates as a gift. They come prepackaged (saves time) or you can create your own customized box. Scotchmallows are another excellent choice and again come prepackaged or you can get one of the employees to help you with getting some from behind the display case. Another favor of mine that makes rare appearances as part of prepackaged boxes are the colored sugar sticks. It's mostly a nostalgia thing for me with those, as it just reminds me of when I was a kid and use to get them sometimes for Halloween. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. The workers were so rude to my mom and I. Instead of complaining, let me give this store a suggestion on how to run their business. Those that are getting individual pieces of chocolate obviously need to wait in line to get them. Those who are done picking their packaged items can head straight to the cashier. You will make a lot more money this way I guarantee you. I had 4 boxes of heavy 80 dollar boxes worth of chocolate and the worker tells me to go wait in line with people who are all getting individual chocolates, hence I left after the worker gave me the worst attitude ever to go to the back of the line.
