Looking for the worst GMC dealership out there? Here it is! Purchased a brand new GMC Denali 2500. 12 days ago. Still don't have it. Drove it off the lot with 12 miles on the odometer. 100 miles and 8 hour later the vehicle died. Was originally told it was because of the DEF fluid was low. It wasn't. They then replaced the valve plate. Didn't solve it. Reprogrammed the vehicle. Still not working. Dropped the transmission.... No problem there either. Recommended replacing transmission (even thought the transmission was good) No transmissions available...and they expect an upcoming payment. LOL. End of day the dealership if full of castrated employees that can be replaced by an automated system. Go elsewhere. Don't walk, run away from here. read more

Fraud ! Drove a brand new truck off the lot and it broke down 100 miles later ! On the highway ! Used gmc's tow service . Took 5 hours to get it towed !!! Brand new 80k truck ! It has been over 2 weeks and still I have no truck ! Frauds ! Won't refund me ! Everything thing they repair does not work ! I bought a Chevy Malibu 2020 from Team Nissan in January of 2023. We started having problems with the car which was the gauges were fluctuating and as I'm on the freeway the car would slow down and I couldn't go any faster. June 28th we went to Team Nissan but since it was a Chevy I had to take it to a Chevy dealership because of my extended warranty I purchased. I took it to Alexander in Oxnard on June 29th and got it back on July 10th. When I got the car back they stated to drive the vehicle and schedule further diagnosis. I took the car back on July 17th because the same problems were occurring. They said they replaced the transmission control module we picked our car up. Then on August 1st we had to take the car back because the same problem occurred and they had our car until Sept 8th and kept stating that they couldn't diagnose it because the check engine light wasn't on. They stated it could be the spark plugs so we took the car to get the spark plugs changed. Then a week later the same problem occurred I decided not to take my car back to Alexander's in Oxnard because they couldn't find the problem. I have it now at Santa Paula Bunnin they've only had it for two days and have found the problem. I feel like you need to train your service department on how to diagnose the vehicles that come into your shop. This has been a total nightmare. read more

Ok, so we had to have some very intricate factory service done. It took weeks and weeks. Apparently, a few very particular parts had to be ordered. It was all finally done, but there are two lasting impressions 1) The service department was not very good at keep us in the loop about what was going on and, 2) the car was a dusty, bird poop-covered mess when we finally got it back. I had to go straight to a car wash after picking it up. It seems like both (phone calls and car washes) are simple customer service ideas which are totally overlooked at Alexander. What a horrible experience. Buyers take heed!! Without naming names. Yall know who you are. These guys undoubtedly tried to scam at only my expense to close a deal. My finncing was approved through my Credit Union, but they insisted better rates. So i obliged to see if they could beat my Credit Union. I filled out the application through their online system. WOW they got me approved way lower...hmmm. I was grateful and shook on the deal. When I got to financing and was asked to sign the loan application it was then that I noticed that they had changed my application to show that my income was literally $15,000 per month more than what I had put on the application plus. Few other things were doctored. They persistently said it was fine and wanted to continue the deal. They seriously wanted me to sign this application after they had clearly lied to the financial institution. Buyers beware, These guys will bring lower rates to close a deal but only by lying to the financial inst. And have you sign for it. I had too much integrity for this crap, grabbed my wife and left immediately. From this day forward I will only use my own Credit Union for financing Autos. To many tricks with car sales. read more

Very disappointed. Made a mess of my car and quoted me $2500 to fix my sunroof. I went to Ideal Sunroof and Soda in Ventura and Glen there fixed my sunroof in 2 minutes with a brush and vaseline. Cadillac told me I needed to replace $1600 worth of parts yet all the parts were in great working order-they just needed lubrication. I have no faith in this dealership and won't be bringing my Cadillac back again. read more

This crew went out of their way to assist us in every possible way. Finding the right vehicle and financing was critical due to our unusual circumstances. In March 2019, we were looking for a car for my 26-year old son who recently lost his right leg in a tragic motorcycle accident. We needed a vehicle that we could easily alter the vehicle for left foot accelerator. On top of requiring a large amount of room on the floorboard for the accelerator the car needed to be easy for my son to get in and out of the driver's seat due to his prosthetic leg. We researched and looked at several makes and models, most of which did not achieve our goals. We read that specific models of Hyundai may have the space we needed for the adaption and headed to Alexander Buick, GMC, and Cadillac in Oxnard. We were told to ask for Donny, by a friend. When we arrived, Donny could not have been more accommodating and made suggestions we had not thought of. I could go on and on about our time with Donny and his associate Carlos, who was equally as helpful. Both of them embraced us and factored in our unique situation. Carlos ran all over the lot and drove cars up, so our son could easily access them. We ended up leasing a loaded GMC Canyon Truck, and they included a very specialized running board that assisted our son's unique needs. Additionally, Donny told us GM had a special program to rebate the cost of the left foot accelerator as well as a significant OnStar option extending the time for handicapped buyers. We were offered a deal that shocked us, only to have the deal get better and better to the point where we just could not refuse it. Their entire team was determined to help our family. Alexander Buick, GMC, and Cadillac are located nearly 40 miles from our home, and it was totally worth the drive. If you are looking for a new or used vehicle take the time to visit Donny and his team. Two things that will drive me away from a salesperson is, ONE: when they try pressuring you into buying something when you've told them you aren't ready and TWO when they don't have the common courtesy to listen to what your looking for. I had not planned to go to this dealer , but my Father unfortunately didn't hear me when I told him this wasn't a Chevy dealer. I'm well aware of what I can afford but unfortunately I got steered toward the pre-owned cars , not there's anything wrong with that as I've had a used car before, but it seemed to be predetermined that I was in need of a used car. About 3 weeks after I posted my review I received a call back from a manager. He never received my request to speak with a supervisor and called me after seeing my Yelp review. He did apologize and explained the process of how loaner/rental cars are processed before and after they leave the car lot. I appreciated Greg taking the time to speak to me and to apologize. Even though there wasn't anything he could do to "fix" what had happened, I appreciated his call and concern. Original review 2/17/15 This review is based on my latest visit where I was given a loaner car since the service my car needed was going to take more time than normal. There are no words for the loaner car I was given. When I first saw the car during the walk through I noticed that the outside was dirty but didn't say anything since we've been having Santa Anna winds. Once the service rep left and I got inside I was disgusted. The car was filthy. There was dog hair all over the seats and the dashboard was very dusty. I looked in the back seat and saw a huge clump of human hair complete with a hair tie that was pulled out. I contemplated going in to request a new vehicle but I was running late for an appointment. I ended up vacuuming the car myself and disinfecting it with wipes. When I returned the car I asked the service rep if I could speak to a manager and was told they had left for the day. I asked if he could please have them give me a call so I could tell them about my experience.. I'm still waiting.The rep did apologize and seemed surprised that I vacuumed it myself. He told me they just received it and did not have an opportunity to clean it before hand, it's hard for me to believe that they only have one rental/loaner.. or they should have warned me before issuing me that car. The filthy vehicle I received speaks volumes to me of the customer service standards they have. Purchased a 2019 Ram about 5 months ago. The truck began to have issues as soon as we left the lot. We reached out to the salesman and let him know the issues it was having. We were hit back by pretty much since it's not a GMC it's not our problem. They had no interest in helping us find the issue or at least recommend a good place to go since Crown dodge wasn't really an option. The salesman was great but management is horrible. Tried to figure out a solution and they basically threw us off keeping the same energy as "not our problem". I would never recommend this dealership to anyone buying a vehicle off brand. We purchased a truck from Alexander Buick last night (Thursday) . The contract was all written up signed and we were out the door. Today we returned and ask the finance guy to remove the extended warranty, we also told him we decided to finance the truck with our own credit union. While my husband was talking to our credit union the finance manager went in and told our salesman and the sales manager our new plans. At this point the finance manager told us the sales manager decided not to sell us the truck because it was under priced and they were loosing money. Thursday night they knew they made a mistake on the price, but that was ok because they would make up the money on the financing through their company any the extended warranty. When we decided to use our own credit union and buy a warranty through our credit union they wouldn't be making up any of their losses. You can't trust what the sales managers tell you. They are only in it for the money, not customer service. Our salesman was outstanding and did everything he could to get us in the truck. The management SUCKS. He was not a high pressure guy and worked with me for a couple of weeks until I was ready to purchase with the best terms. Everything was as expected when I arrived to pick up the vehicle. We went to Alexander Buick GMC Cadillac, Oxnard to get a closer look at, and test-drive, the "Buick Encore", we saw it on the street and instantly fell in love with it. Victor, a nice guy and helpful sales man pointed out the bells and whistles of the Buick Encore. He was preaching to the converted; we wanted that car, but in black, so let's talk some numbers. Victor deposited us at an office with a "financial guy". Poor man; probably should have been home tucked up in bed, not at work with those sniffles, I felt sorry for him. That sympathy soon disappeared! His offer on our trade-in car was insulting. A miserable 50% less than the KBB recommended dealership trade-in price. Not only that, the final figure for the Encore seemed very well padded. I reminded him we were cash paying customers. I asked for a line by line break down. What was this 2.9% interest charge for? We're cash paying customers! The 2.9% was for the money we didn't know we were borrowing. Enough of the smoke and mirrors - we're leaving. This guy could make a fortune with 3 walnut shells and a pea outside the fairgrounds. We got in our car to leave when Victor with the general manager came charging out of the sales room with the gusto of an NFL forward line; the GM could fix everything in ten minutes - after all, he had thirty years experience! So, answer me, how do you screw up a guaranteed cash sale? I left this dog and pony show burning rubber. Now my wife isn't talking to me.....................she's in love with the Encore. Some days later we had a call from Victor, deeply apologetic for the "misunderstanding". He offered a more realistic trade-in price, and could we please come in and work out a deal. Also, it was Presidents' Day weekend with more incentives. We went back; Victor offered a good trade-in, but, only if we take the Encore on their lot, which was not the color we desired. However, the ticket price is now reduced by approx. $1,300 from the original price of more than a week earlier. It was settled, we would pay a little more for black, and they would bring the Encore in from another dealership. What could go wrong? Enter the new "financial guy". He uses the higher ticket price from the previous week. On top of that, he wants $700 extra for the black color Encore, and also wants a delivery charge of between $700 and $1,200. Almost $2,000 increase on the agreed price! My Grandmother always said to me; "catch me once shame on you; catch me twice shame on me" I left, head hanging. But wait! There's more.......................... Enter Natasha, Victor and Brian of "Silver Star Buick of Thousand Oaks". They got our black Encore from another dealership - no delivery charge. I just bought a 2011 SRX. Initially I worked with LJ and Olivia (Sales Reps) who were very helpful, courteous, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. I got a reasonable trade in value for my car and a good deal on the SRX. I ended up closing the deal with George- Dealership Manager who provided me with many choices within my budget. I enjoyed the no pressure sales approach. This is the second Cadillac I bought from them. Over the years I've had the opportunity to also work with Service dept which is more important to me than working with the sales staff. Junior- the Svc Mngr is awsome. He is very helpful and provides a lot of free quick fixes and tips on how to get the most out of the cars features. The svc dept techs seem to be very well trained. I've never had to return the car because the problem was not fixed the first time. If I had to make one recommendation it would be for them to make the waiting area more comfortable/inviting. There is no comparison to the Lexus dealership. Example in order to get a drink of cold water from either sales or service dept someone goes someplace to a cooler and returns with a cup of water. How about putting free bottled water in a fridge (ie like Lexus) and how about a gourmet coffee machine and wifi? Overall my sales/service experiences have been outstanding. I highly recommend them. Check them out--they may be able to save you some money. Just bring your own water. :) While I enjoy the SRX it doesn't have as many bells and whistles as my 2005 STS. read more
