If I could give this dealership zero stars, I would!!!! If you are considering buying a car from Alexander GMC of Simi Valley, save yourself the absolute nightmare and look elsewhere! We purchased a used vehicle from them, and within five days, it suffered a severe engine misfire while driving on the freeway, scary! Upon closer inspection, we discovered a major, pre-existing safety defect: A heavily chewed-through main wiring harnesses hidden underneath the engine cover. After a more thorough inspection, we found several areas under the engine cover that had also been chewed. It was completely obvious that rodent damage was present long before the car ever stepped foot on our property. The amount of dirt and dust was pretty concerning as well. (yes its a 20 year old car but what we found under the engine cover was very concerning) We immediately called and spoke with Juan Martinez and told him what we had found. He then tried to gaslight us telling us the damage was not there when they sold us the vehicle and asked where we were parking it. Insinuating that it was our fault and that the vehicle had been inspected and that wiring damage was not there. That they would have never sold us a car in this condition and it passed their used car re sale inspection. (impossible) He then began to call us "liars" and did not want to hear anything we had to say, over talking our every sentence. He told us we would need to have the vehicle towed to them so they could "inspect" it. The dealership did offer us a free generous 1 month 1,000K mile warranty (used car warranty) so we immediately pushed back. We explained the vehicle was not drivable and they would need to pick it up by tow. Juan refused and said that if we didn't tow the vehicle to them, (at 100% our cost) they would consider we were keeping the car. We live 80 miles from said dealership and advised we were not keeping it and they would need to make this right. We were not getting anywhere with Juan so we decided to send a formal demand letter via email along with undeniable photographic evidence, which BTW we never received a written response. It was addressed to owner Katie Alexander along with the Juan and Victor. The email must have gotten someone's attention because we received a phone call from Juan just 5 minutes after sending it. Victor had a big change of attitude (was actually nice this call) and agreed to take the car back and unwind us from the deal. Great!! You would think it ended there but it didn't. After agreeing to take the vehicle back the gaslighting started up again and we were called "liars" several more times. They got increasingly rude, kept calling us liars by claiming that a shredded wiring harness was somehow "normal wear and tear because the car is 20 years old" and that it all magically happened in the five days we owned it. We stayed professional and very calm because at this point, we just wanted out of this deal ASAP. I'd also like to add that they did not tow the vehicle back to the dealership, instead they had two young employees pick up the car to drive it back 80 miles to the dealership after we repeatedly told them it was unsafe to drive. We even showed the employees what was under the hood explaining the vehicle was extremely unsafe to drive, but the poor kid left in it. Now they have put their employee in the unsafe vehicle, shameful. They refused to admit responsibility for the junk they sold us. Lied from the start, completely unprofessional characters. Everything about this situation is unbelievable. But photos never lie!!! (see below) Dealerships like this rely on intimidation and deflection, hoping customers will just roll over. We are handling this through official channels with the California DMV Investigations Division and the Bureau of Automotive Repair, but future buyers deserve to know how they treat people the second a problem arises. DO NOT BUY FROM THE ALEXANDER group!!!! Do yourself a favor and take your business to a dealership with actual integrity. They are out there. This was the WORST car buying experience I have ever gone thru and that says a lot. Stay far away from Alexander GMC of Simi Valley. PICTURES NEVER LIE!!!! read more

This place kept me on the hook until they found a higher bidder. I made a deal with a salesman to buy a truck. We agreed on a price and I let him know I would let my financing know the truck info so that they can overnight me the truck. I asked multiple times for something in writing stating the truck would be held for me and they just kept telling me "don't worry we aren't that kind of dealer, trust me it's in the back being held for you". Day comes where I'm suppose to pick up the truck and they tell me "Oh sorry we can't sell you the truck, it was damaged in the lot and has to be sent to the body shop." Next day I got suspicious so I called from a different number and inquired in the truck. Different salesman tells me it's sold. I tell them I have cash I need it ASAP. They replied "sorry we already took the persons trade and just waiting on them to pick it up." So I email the sales manager and ask him why they lied to me. Disappointed with my overall experience on my last service. I have been coming here to service my vehicle ever since I purchased it. Since that time, I have been through at least 5 service advisors. Tina being the only consistent one and now she is on absence. Yesterday, I had a scheduled 11am oil change appointment. I ended up arriving early by chance and dropped it off at 10:45. I was in no hurry so I decided to go for a good walk to kill time since they were not busy and were looking at a 90 minute time frame. When I came back from my walk at 12:30 (walked a good 4 miles) my truck was still in the service lane. I waited in the lobby for half an hour and it still hadn't moved nor had I been given any update. At one o clock I finally inquired and my truck had yet to been touched at all. I was offered a Lyft home which I accepted because I did have some work to get done. My service was finally completed and ready for pick up after four. I left the dealership at 4:30pm. That's a 5 1/2 hour oil change when I was expecting no more than 90 minutes. My job requires me to have a vehicle to drive around. Unfortunately I was unable to do any of my work yesterday once my service started. Imagine if that was played out the other way around? Dealership owners wouldn't be happy I assume. Service dept 10 Had to have a malfuclnvtioning component in my new truck replaced under warranty I've literally stood in line at in n out longer than the time I spent here from Start to finish. Dropped off at 930 am they gave me a beautiful new loaner vehicle inwas out of there by 945 Arthur called me at noon to tell me It was ready. Completely shocked at the other GMC dealer I used to go to cause I'll never go there again. It would take them three days it took this dealer three hours. Truck was all washed. Dropped off. Bait and switch!! These people are the most dishonest car salesmen around. Here is what happened to us: we called Friday before closing to see if they still had the car we wanted to purchase because we wanted to go see it Saturday morning, literally the next day. We told them we were coming from an hour away and wanted to make sure so we don't waste our time. They assured us it was still available. So now it's Saturday morning, we called AGAIN to make sure the car was still there. They assured us it was. We arrive at the car dealership and this young kid comes out and tells us the car we wanted was "just sold"!!! So you're telling me it sold in that one hour it took us to drive there... But guess what? They had these other cars that we might want to see... are you kidding me? They wasted our time, over two hours of driving, they wouldn't tell us who lied to us on the phone because "they have so many people in the sales department" even though the place was practically empty. The car we wanted wasn't even on the lot, so we figured they had a fake posting up to attract people, and then try to sell them other cars. They lied. I was so pissed! Avoid this place! They are dishonest. Ended up buying the car we wanted at the Santa Clarita GMC dealership after this horrible experience. read more

The level of Customer Service you receive after a sale will always let you know the quality of any business. Alexander GMC is as bad as you might expect. The sales guy, Sam, even commented to me about not understanding why car salespeople aren't trusted. Well... it's because you're all shady. Alexander GMC sold me a vehicle with a broken windshield. When it was brought to my attention about 2 weeks later, Sam refused to offer any customer service and told me to go kick rocks. This is why you're not trust worthy, Sam. Providing good post-sale customer service would have earned your dealership my business in the service department. However, with your poor response, you've lost my business forever and earned a two-star rating. Oh, and your nickel and dime sales tactics are transparent and another reason to avoid this dealership. Carmax is a much better option. UPDATE: Still no word from the sales manager so I updated this to a one star rating. About a week ago, I leased a brand new truck from this dealership. Once I arrived at home I was transferring my stuff over from my old truck into my new truck and discovered drug paraphernalia (foil with burnt markings on it) tucked underneath the driver rear seat. I reached out to sales team and general manager and got no explanation on how this ended up in a brand new truck off the lot! They did not have time to detail my truck when I bought it so they told me to bring it in when I could, they stated that they reached out and offered me a full detail, which was false. They already owed me one. Please be careful and doublecheck the vehicle before leaving this lot.. I decided to do this review since they did not take this seriously. By far the worst experience I've had with purchasing a vehicle. Purchased a truck from them in 2020 with absolutely no issues, went back to purchase an SUV. Prior to even providing my DL I informed staff I needed the car to be delivered, they stated there would be a wait but no issues w delivering. Delivering the vehicle was a precursor to purchasing the vehicle. 1) tried to provide me with a price that was higher than what was advertised online. When I brought it to their attention they stated "oh that was a Halloween special but we'll honor it." I checked online at that exact time and the advertised price was still online. It was 8k less than what they initially tried to provide me 2) informed employee I did not want to finance- employee suggested I put my money in a high yield savings to save money and finance my vehicle. 3) when everything was settled they came back out and asked if I could "do them a favor and take the car now" because I would be taking away from company time and sales if someone were to deliver. Then tried to incentivize me to take the vehicle home by providing me a free detail and gas money when I had initially started the vehicle needed to be delivered, then they stated that I should be afraid if something happens to the vehicle I.e. a customer hits it while on the lot if I were to not take it with me immediately. This honestly caught me off guard and I was irritated because I had stated a precursor to purchasing the vehicle was that it needed to be delivered! All in all never returning there again, to top it off I had pointed out scuff marks in the leather and glove compartment that needed to be cleaned and they did not do so. Everyone was nice but the way that they tried to force me tot take the car home and the scare tactics that they tried to use I definitely would not recommend purchasing a vehicle from there and will sadly not be returning. read more

Sorry for the rant, but this needs to be said. Arthur in the service department just cost this dealership a lot of money. It all started with the sale of my new Hummer EV. The truck wasn't ready until late at night when they were about to close--not a big deal. The sales guy I worked with was amazing--thorough, knowledgeable, and made sure I understood everything I needed before I left. However, as I was driving home, just as I entered the freeway, the emergency service light came on. Annoying, but I figured it was probably just a software update that should have been handled before delivery. The next day, I also noticed an issue with the heater--blowing hot on one side and cold on the other. So, I called the dealership and scheduled a service appointment, bringing the car in on Friday, hoping it would be done by the weekend. Then came Arthur. I never received a single call from the service department. I had to chase them down, repeatedly calling on Monday and again on Wednesday. Arthur, to put it mildly, was clueless. He constantly made excuses and had no real idea what was going on with the tech team. When I finally spoke with him on Wednesday, he promised to call me in the morning--or at the latest, before lunch. No call. By 2 PM, I called again, and Arthur finally answered--laughing about how funny it was that I happened to call because he was "just doing my paperwork." Then he told me my car needed parts for the air conditioner to function properly. After a long pause, he suddenly changed his story--no, actually, everything was working fine, and I could come pick it up. So, I drive 30 minutes to Alexander GMC, only to have Arthur now tell me that my car was NOT fixed. Apparently, it worked earlier, but now, magically, it wasn't working again. To make matters worse: * The car was filthy after sitting there for over a week. * The battery was at only 27%. After all that time, they didn't even bother charging it. When I asked Arthur why it wasn't charged, his excuse? "Because you wanted the car in such a hurry." A hurry? What the hell is he talking about? The car sat there for a week, and the only thing they did was a software update that should have been done before I even took delivery. This guy is full of excuses and has now cost the sales department a future customer--not just me, but everyone I know in Simi Valley, including multiple businesses. I've purchased over 30 cars in my life and have never had such a bad experience with a service department. Shame on the owner and sales managers for allowing this guy to run their service department.
