The Little Bad Wolf isn't just a story... it's a phenom dot com restaurant that you NEED to visit! My family and I visited after a Saturday Cubs game and luckily, there were still a handful of tables available and we were promptly seated. The staff were super friendly and provided excellent service! Almost everyone at our table ordered the Wolf Burger after hearing my sister and her husband rave about it. When our orders came to the table, we were all PLEASANTLY surprised at how beautifully stacked and dressed our burgers were. A triple stack of patties, topped with cheese, bacon, a fried egg, crispy onions, and housemade pickles?! That's a recipe for delicious success right there! The Wolf Burger was indeed SCRUMPTIOUS! My goodness, I am still thinking about it two whole days later and how I can't wait to revisit this restaurant and try some more of their menu items. An honorable mention goes out to the delicious fries on the side!! They were the perfect cut, well-seasoned, and out-of-this-world. I HIGHLY recommend Little Bad Wolf to all folks looking for a delicious experience! The burger is sensational, the environment is impeccable, and this is a great spot if you're going on a date or out with friends.

I decided to come to Beard & Belly since I had it bookmarked and it was close to where I was. We were able to get seated right away and received outstanding service. My wife ordered their Chicken & Waffles which I don't see on the menu anymore. This dish was really delicious. The chicken was seasoned and fried perfectly. It came with hot honey so it added a little bit of heat and sweetness. I ordered their Red Eye Pastrami. It came with pastrami, a fried egg, cheddar cheese, Dijon and greens. All in a ciabatta bread. I will admit though, "coffee & hot sauce" were in parentheses. I didn't taste neither in this sandwich. Did I not understand the assignment? Was I supposed to order coffee and then put hot sauce in this sandwich. Regardless, the sandwich definitely hit the spot. Don't think I've ever had a sandwich with pastrami and eggs before. I've been missing out. The ciabatta bread was also very soft. Such a perfect bread for this sandwich. It also came with hash browns. They had a tasty seasoning on them. Salty, but tasty. They offered garlic aioli or ketchup with these. Ketchup is probably the way to go. Really difficult to earn with the aioli, the hash browns fall apart if you try to dip them in the aioli. I can't wait to come back.

More than just a bar, not quite a supper club, Fireside is a longstanding Chicago treasure…read more I returned yesterday after a long absence and was so glad I did. Half slab ribs, fries, coleslaw. So good. Ribs were tender and not at all greasy, the sauce was pleasant, the fries are classic McDonald's style and perfect, and the coleslaw evokes Popeye's. A great dish. Deep fried shrimp appetizer is an excellent starter. They have a small but high quality bourbon and rye selection, and make a great Manhattan. My noble bourbon boozers will love it. Hope to return soon for the Fried Chicken, burger, fish and chips, salmon. The NY Strip is prime, for only $42. Old wood bar, dining room, covered all season beer garden, very friendly service. Good times! A note about accessibility: This is an old, rambing building but they've done what they can to make it accessible. There is a long ramp at the side of the building which a wheelchair can navigate. There is a bit of bump to cross the threshhold into the covered patio in back. There are low tops in the patio, the bar area, and the dining room. There is another bump to roll over to get into the dining room, but it is manageable. The men's bathroom can accommodate a wheelchair, but the stall is not be enough for a wheelchair to get in - transferring could be difficult/not possible depending on one's individual situation. There is a parking lot, but a HC accessible spot would be a great addition. Plenty of street parking as well.

She was so friendly and warm, I didn't run dry on Diet Coke, and she had the perfect pacing. She was genuinely wonderful, the best service we've had at any restaurant in a long time. Onto the food! I came here specifically for the burger that has a fried mac and cheese patty on it. I'm a sucker for those, and it did not disappoint! We first shared the giant pretzel which was really good. I wish it had more salt but the texture was really good. My husband ordered the blackened chicken pasta- the chicken was really well seasoned and cooked, and the pasta sauce was tasty. My burger was so good, but absolutely massive. Overall this was an excellent dinner and such a great neighborhood place, we will definitely be back!

If you are like me, trying to make that light, you will never see this place, but it is there and it is super cute. There is a lot of dark wood that just gives the space a cozy feel. There are also two garage doors that I assume can be opened when the weather is good. For you folks with dogs, beer drinkers who drink beyond the basic beers, bubble drinkers (like me) and those that want to bring in their own food...this is your place. We went there to meet some friends and to watch some football. For such a small place, they do have plenty of TVs with multiple games going. It was great to be able to have pizza delivered, with the bartender providing paper plates, and napkins for us to use. The bartender was also very cool about bringing our drinks over or picking up empties as we were sitting a a table away from the bar. I didn't get his name, but he was cool. There is street parking but not on Peterson itself. I would say, depending on the day, it might be hard to find a spot as you have to park on Ridge or some of the side streets. There is a new Metra station down the street that is about 2 blocks from the bar. Not sure if there is public parking available, but worth checking out. I could see myself coming here just because I can bring my own food and still get bubbles. While they do not carry bubbles by the bottle, the stuff they had in the can was good. I would love to go there when the weather is nicer and they have the garage doors open. And it is a happy compromise to hanging out with friends who have dogs that they just can't live without who also like to drink. This is a place we can definitely hang out with them and have a good time.

We started with beer from an extensive list (updated daily, per our server). I had a Kwak red ale served in a creative glass with its own little supporting stand. Hubs got an IPA and I can't remember which one. Daughter ordered a ginger ale. All tasty! We started with the poutine fries. Very good!! We cleared the plate. Then I had a smash burger - it was good, but I forgot I am not a fan of American cheese which made the burger...I don't know, creamy? The burger itself was good. Hubs and daughter sampled it and loved it. Hubs had the brisket Reuben and loved it. Daughter had the sausage platter and loved the sausages -- 2 kinds -- and potatoes. No room for dessert. Server was friendly, helpful (on the beer menu especially) and efficient. Other staff made sure we had water, utensils, brought our food, etc. We were well cared for. The building itself is a multi-room plus patio affair, all in brick with hardwood floors and warm lighting. We ate in the dining room but there are two bar areas with large bars and tables, serving from the same menu. Hopleaf Bar is hands down one of our favorite spots for dinner and drink in all of Chicago!…read more One key to a successful dinning experience at Hopleaf is knowing the three different spaces to engage. When you first walk in, you have to show your ID since this is an adults-only bar establishment. (1) You can then choose to sit in the front bar area, if you want a full menu, but use the bar for ordering service. (2) If you keep walking through the front bar area, you reach the host stand at the top of the ramp. This is where you can put your name in to sit in the main dining room, upstairs, or outside. (3) However, you can also walk through to the left of the host stand to another bar area that has full menus, but bar service for ordering. This is our preferred spot because we can often find a seat and order with the bar. Do note that, during busy times, part of this bar area is managed by the host stand and will be labeled as such. The extensive beer menu is our favorite. We have our favorite food items, so all our decision making revolves around which beer we will get. They always have a bit of everything style-wise, from all over the world, but with a local-brewery focus. Seasonal emphasis is also taken into consideration when they curate the beer list. It is always rotating and we love it! Beers are served in the recommended glasses from the breweries. It's a great drinking experience from start to finish! Our food orders are eternally set: I get the Nueske Ham sandwich with fries and aioli. My husband gets the Reuben sandwich with fries and aioli. This meal is so perfect we'll probably never get anything different, despite the menu being delicious across the board. The wildest we get is sometimes splitting the two sandwiches. No reason to mess with a good thing! Other notable great things about Hopleaf: (1) Kind, knowledgeable, and professional staff. (2) Reasonable prices for high quality and great variety products. (3) Clean Belgian Bar decor/vibe with lots of space for folks to enjoy their time. (4) They are open late and serve food late. Thank you for being an amazing local spot, Hopleaf! We'll see you soon!

Our experience has always been delightful and we love supporting a local establishment, but, this evening i was treated so poorly by one of their bartenders, Im seriously reconsidering my former opinion. My friend and I originally sat on the patio, i took advantage of a great happy hour deal and ordered a flight of margaritas. One of the drinks was a spicy margarita and it had yummy tahini salt on the rim of the glass. Eventually, the bees on the patio drover us inside where we sat at the bar to finish our drinks. The bartender didn't seem too thrilled to have us there, which was odd because, at the time, the place had only 4 other customers sitting inside. The bartender never approached us, or acknowledged us in any way. i finished my drinks and wanted another spicy margarita. Since the bartender obviously didn't want to wait on us, I ordered it from our original server. The restaurant still wasn't busy but it took 15 minutes to get my margarita. when it finally arrived, it had no salt on the rim, but my server scurried away so quickly, i didnt have a chance to ask her about it. It took me another 10 minutes to get the bartender's attention, and when I asked, "Isn't there supposed to be salt on the rim?" She rudely informed me, "No, only if you ask for it'" I told her that nobody had asked me if I wanted salt on the rim earlier, and it just came that way so I assumed they were all prepared the same way, she literally turned her back on me and slammed the container of rim salt onto the bar. When I said, "wow! Whats that about?" She yelled at me and said I didn't know how to make a request and i needed to change my tone. I was a server for many years, so I know how stressful food service can be, but, if I ever spoke to a customer the way I was spoken to this evening, I would have been dismissed on the spot. i am a standard 25% tipper, and I do not expect preferential treatment, nor do I think the 'customer is always right', but, I do assume Ill be treated with common courtesy when I decide to spend my $$ at a restaurant. I will no longer be doing that at RPublic.
