I'm am disappointed that the technician showed up early and not the time he was supposed to. I arrived home five minutes before the scheduled appointment and he had already left without performing the service. I called and emailed the business and they have refused to respond to my requests to come back and perform the inspection after I have already paid for it. Services to catch a raccoon in the attic were a lot cheaper then that terminex! They didn't catch the raccoon. They may have scared it off from their presence. So I didn't pay for them to monitor the trap and secure entry point. I did ask them for a quote about other areas that could possibly be access points. I didn't hear back. I haven't left a Yelp review in a very long time. And I certainly didn't ever expect to leave one for a pest control company. But here I am...I found a small mouse in my kitchen and took every step possible to trap it using several types of traps (over 2 dozen...I know it was excessive but didn't want to take chances). I used all sorts of bait - bacon, peanut butter, the attractant gel, you name it - on rotation but nothing. Meanwhile, droppings continued to appear. I was cleaning, including bleaching, everything twice a day - morning and night. I even set up my google home hub in the kitchen and the mouse would just skip over the traps despite me placing fresh bait every two days using the proper gloves. I mean, I did everything, following all the rules. It was just tiring so I gave in and researched different companies. I considered the national brand companies but many of my neighbors had horrible experiences that left their issues unresolved, leaving them to turn to Alexandria Pest Services. I called the company yesterday (Tuesday) and had the most pleasant experience with Destiny. She booked me for an appointment the next day (Wed). I've never used pest control services so she was gracious enough to thoroughly answer my questions and walk me through what the appointment would look like, including any necessary follow ups. She was also kind enough to call me prior to the appointment to keep me updated on the inspector's visit, which I honestly appreciated. Now as for the visit - I had the pleasure of working with their Lead Inspector, Allan. Let me tell you, I never once imagined that a pest control appointment would be one of the most pleasant experiences I've had in a long time. But that's also why I'm sitting here writing this review. Allan was pure goodness. His knowledge and expertise was clear from the get go, but this is also a people business. And as a homeowner, I want to entrust my property in the best hands. APS delivered that with Allan. He provided substantive information that he didn't have to bother sharing and honestly, I feel so much more informed with facts that I couldn't get from any of the forums on this stuff. I haven't purchased any service yet because today was just an inspection, which Allan conducted thoroughly from my kitchen to the attic. But to be quite frank, even if this inspection wasn't free, it would have been worth every penny. Do not go anywhere else. Just don't. Good businesses like APS need to be taken care of. But more than that, our homes need to be taken care of with the right folks and that's APS (especially Allan). Thanks to all of you. Truly! I've been using this service for a little over a year now. Service was great in the beginning. My first tech Franklin was very thorough and after 2 treatments, we rarely saw a single bug or spider web in the house and less spider webs outside as well. After switching techs on me without telling me, I started seeing bugs inside constantly and spider webs everywhere. When I initially signed up, I said we were only available Mondays & Tuesdays & half the time, I'd get emails to confirm my scheduled service on a Weds. so I'd have to call & remind them we are not available on Weds. The last service I had was scheduled on a tues & after scheduling my day around a 3 hour window, she never showed. The next day (Weds) I got a paper on my door saying sorry we missed you & that they treated ouside. Not only was there a HUGE spider web across my outdoor seating area with a very large spider sitting comfortably in the middle (so not sure how that was missed if the yard was actually treated) but I get a bill for my monthly service. I spoke with a rep who said the tech would come on Monday to treat the inside at no additional cost. Again I waited hours & she never showed up. I'm done living with bugs & wasting my limited free time waiting around for these people. I gave 2 stars because Franklin was awesome & the 2nd tech was nice but I think I've been killing more bugs here than she has read more

After almost being ripped off by Terminix I was glad that my Master Trapper recommended this small company. They are honest and reliable and certainly not more expensive than the big chain one! read more

Edited 7/26/2021: I'll give the owner of the company a lot of credit as he called and apologized over and over for missing the appointment and not calling to give us a heads up. He offered to come out immediately to make things right and the fact that he acknowledged their error and wanted to make it right, meant a lot. He immediately changed his schedule and made it a point to come by a few hours later and he was extremely pleasant to deal with. I changed the rating from 1 to 3 stars and will provide an updated review once we get the quote for quarterly service and have a few more interactions with the company. I will give the owner a lot of credit for reacting so quickly. I hope to have a more positive interaction with them similar to the one I had with the owner going forward. 7/26/2021: Can't say anything about the company's actual service as they couldn't even bother to show up for a scheduled inspection. I cancelled meetings and waited for 2 hours during the scheduled window for no one to show up or even call. When I called after the 2 hour window to ask what was going on, the representative said that the tech was somewhere else and asked if we can be available later in the day. If this is how they choose to make a first impression I can't imagine how terrible the actual service would be. Yikes, glad I found out how bad this company is before we signed up for any services with them. read more

This is the company that was contracted to trap and kill foxes--harmless foxes including a healthy mother fox--at Bucknell Elementary School. I mean...you have to be some kind of heartless killing machine to call foxes on a playground a 'nuisance' and do this dirty work. It's all over the local news and frankly, I hope it makes many potential clients think twice when choosing a pest control company. The fact that the owner of the company didn't stop for a minute and think "nah... this is wrong" says something about their good judgment versus making a buck. read more

They get two stars for the friendliness of their tech, Ralph. Otherwise it would be zero stars for their billing, customer service and inability to actually get rid of the mice. 1: In spite of locating where the mice were entering the house, they never sealed that area up as they said they would. 2: They set up recurring appointments without confirming a date/time and then charge you if you aren't home to let them in... even though you had no idea there was an appointment because they hadn't called/texted to confirm. 3: We cancelled the service, and an ENTIRE YEAR LATER got a bill for 2 services we had no idea they had done, with a threat to send the account to collections if we didn't pay immediately. There were a variety of other small things that happened that I'm not going to list, but I'm actually astonished by all the good reviews here, given our experience. read more

I had something that sounded like a giant horse galloping around the attic (probably squirrels). Alexandria Pest Services sent over Tracey (spelling?). He showed up on time, he was super polite, and he was very professional. I was happy to see him climb up into the attic and even tell me about the old evidence he found of previous pests. He did a walk around the outside of the house, too. he was able to tell us about the exhaust fan not being connected to anything and tell me another unrelated issue (insulation deficiency).. Very happy to have had him around. I hope no one really ever has to deal with this, but if you do.... tI really liked this place. We heard animal noises coming from inside our flue pipe. We first called a wildlife removal guy, since we thought we might have a squirrel in there. That guy found it was something small like a mouse and told us he didn't deal with that small stuff. And he charged us a lot for coming out. Then we called Alexandria Pest Services. Tracy came out early in the day, did a complete inspection, found a dead bird in the flue pipe, removed it, inspected our basement and attic for evidence of rodents, and gave us good advice about covering our dryer vent. He was very thorough, clean, and completely respectful of our nervousness about Covid 19. And he charged us not one penny! We will definitely call these folks in the future if we have a pest-control issue. read more

He was very open and honest about why and how the bugs were continuing to get inside the walls and home. After finding two wasps nests on my balcony and having insects (thought they were also wasps, turned out to be honeybees) find their way into my house, I appreciated the speed with which Mehmet responded to my call. He carefully rescued the bees to return them outside and took down the two wasp nests on my balcony. A week later, I was disappointed to find that a new hive was built a few inches, but upon calling Alexandria Pest to express my disappointment about the brevity of the treatment, Mehmet and Leo returned again within a few hours and quickly dispatched the new hive. After determining that this was a different species of wasp, they also treated my balcony for this new species. I appreciate the responsiveness and professionalism that they showed in responding to my calls and making sure my tiny space will remain free of these pests. read more

I did everything I could before leaving this review. I literally gave this company about 12 "last chances". The admin office is the worst. It was a nightmare to set up the initial service. After that, the initial service was something to behold. The service tech spent the time telling me how tired she was, then failed to set traps or dodge setting traps when asked. Ended up leaving and handing me two traps. Another person came with a ladder, and the two argued viciously outside my door about who would use the ladder. Then that second person haphazardly smeared concrete on the side of the house to plug up a hole (VERY sloppy) and left without having me check the work! Insane. I called the company and they sent a team of people to fix these issues. They assured me a bunch of promises that eventually did not come true (half price on the bill, calls before servicing, ect). I gave them yet another chance. I am writing this, and just terminated my contract due to continued issues with the front office. For several months (except for one), they auto schedule me (despite me instructing them not to) and then I have to go through the hassle of calling AND a statement and review of service email is sent out regardless of if you have the appointment, leading to me having to call again. This is repeated EVERY SINGLE month, with one exception. I have to call because no one answers the email, ever, unless you send multiple. And the admin lady is very rude. Our service tech Paul was a very nice person, and this negative review is not reflective of him. The system they have seems to be set up so that if an appointment is made, you WILL receive a statement and review like you had received a service. Either they cant cancel it or no one cares to do so. After the 4th month of this, I finally called and asked to speak to the owner. He was rude to me and continuously told me that none of this happened (??!!). After he rudely stated "fine we will not email you, and that it", I told him I was shocked that we are not getting an apology or assurance of at least an assurance of a fix, and then he SLAMMED THE PHONE DOWN ON ME!. I could not believe this.After months of headache from this company, I get the phone slammed down on me for reporting the issues, yet again. I called back and calmly told the lady I was going to leave negative feedback, and she immediately transferred me back to the owner who CONFIRMED that he slammed the phone down on me, He continued to tell me, rudely, that these issues did not happen (and I was getting free service which I was not - I guess someone else is getting the money I pay them). I told him to cancel my contract. I could not believe his tone and the way he spoke to me. To be treated like this after months of problems and a horrible initial servicing is abhorrent to say the least. To have the owner slam the phone down in my face for simply reporting months of the same issue is beyond inexcusable. He seemed to care more about online reviews then customer issues. Like I said, I did everything I could before leaving this review, but having a phone slammed in my face was enough of a long ordeal. read more
