3.5-4 stars I usually am in the area a few times a year, for pastries from Lou the French on the Block, but I had not had the chance to stop by the area this year, until this past week. There used to be another coffee shop on the other end of the block, Unincorporated Coffee Roasters, which I did not know was closed until I walked over there. So... decided to try Alfred Coffee instead. 12 oz Latte (Hot, whole milk) $5.25 + $0.50 hot Alfred Espresso (Standard) 2x Shots Espresso (Standard) There are a few tables (w/ umbrellas) on the side, near the sidewalk, but with the sun beating down, not many people were utilizing the tables. Most people were "grab & go." Maybe it's the price of coffee in Burbank, but I was surprised to see an extra cost for a "hot" latte and for the total to be $5.75 (pre-tip) for a 12 oz hot latte. It was smooth and good tasting, but I was not mind-blowing. The drink and food menu was a bit outside my price range, but the reviews are mostly glowing. From other reviewers, it seems there's an extra cost for cold drinks as well... so now this tells me that there is just an extra $0.50 charge for all drinks. Was really excited to try this place, but our experience wasn't it. I'll start off that the storefront is super cute! It's very trendy and inviting. However definitely only pick-up. There is a window to order at and one for pick-up but otherwise just 2 tables to sit at while you wait or before you go. Not really a place to sit and hang out. That wasn't an issue for us but just in case you like to sit and sip, this may not be the place. Service was kind and friendly when ordering too. Ok the drinks, our unfortunate experience. I had never been and was so excited to try the iconic vanilla latte. I mean the menu says world famous so I'm expecting greatness. I ordered it iced to add the new cold foam, and got it with almond milk. Sadly my drink didn't meet expectations. She was gorgeous, but looks can be deceiving. It was one of the worst drinks I've had. The shots were not good and tasted burned, it didn't even taste like espresso. AND there was NO vanilla. Literally none. So I had burned brown water, with some bomb looking cold foam. The only saving grace was the cold foam, which was great individually, but otherwise it was a drink that took a massive L. If that's the drink that put them on the map, I don't know what map it's referring to. My sister ordered the matcha latte with vanilla. Hers was ok, an average matcha that tasted grainy and grassy, but wait for it....lacking vanilla. She hated it and had to throw it away. It wasn't really quality matcha, or at least not made well. Hard to say. I'm not sure if they were out of vanilla and didn't tell us or straight up forgot to add to the drinks. The sad part was we couldn't correct the order because we drove away before we got to sip the drinks and we were too far to go back to see if it could be fixed. I won't let the is experience deter me from trying it again, but at ~$14, our experience was not worth the money and honestly was a let down. The cold foam and kind service are the only things keeping this at 2 stars for me. I wish it could have been better, and hopefully the next time will be. read more

Great lil shop with multiple interesting drink options. Did not try the food but had a salted maple iced coffee, one of their specialty drinks. Tried it with macadamia milk (which I've never had before) and it was really good! They used real maple syrup, it didn't taste like a fake syrup or anything. It was a bit sweet for sure, but I think you can ask them to modify it. Sit down area outside only. Would come back again! read more

I had no idea that there was a new Alfred location in Burbank! I stopped by on Sunday afternoon and there was some nearby street parking available. I ordered an iced Lavender Latte, which was also my first latte from Alfred since I usually get cold brews. The staff were friendly and actually recommended that I try the latte with oat milk. The Lavender Latte was nutty from the espresso and rich from the oat milk, but it could've used more lavender for my tastes. They didn't put a lot of ice, which was great and didn't water-down my drink. Also, I thought the lavender syrup was an interesting blue color; after stirring the drink completely, it turned into an earthy green color. I'm unsure if I'd get the latte again, but it was good to try anyway! There were some chairs & tables in front of the shop. It could get a little noisy because of passing cars and pedestrians, but it was also a nice place to just sit down, read a chapter, drink coffee, and relax for a bit (which was what I did for the next hour). read more

I have been ordering from this location for over a year now. I have tried to contact the store cannot get a hold of anyone. They deliver the coffee without it properly being sealed or in a bag. I have tried to be fair and contact the store for an opportunity to fix this however you cannot get a hold of anyone or leave a message. Thankfully the delivery service refunded the order however it is only common sense to seal your order at the very least assuming it is being dropped off. Horrible service will not be going back and do not recommend ordering from here as they cannot follow properly food safety protocol. read more

I love this place! Everytime I came either in person or pick up mobile order my order is out super quick! Never too busy and I just tried the new pumpkin spice iced latte with almond milk so good! Make sure you mix before because the flavor and spices sit at the bottom and it's pretty sweet if you just get a sip of that. Definitely recommend! Placed my order and when I tried to pay with cash I was directed to a sticker on the counter that was about 8 inches long by 1 inch wide that said they were "Cashless". The irony is there is a large Alfred's Plastic cup containing cash for the purpose of collecting tips. Very disappointing. Also not the Barista's fault. Not sure what exactly took me so long to visit Alfred coffee, I've known about it for years. But I took a class in Burbank and needed coffee afterwards so I was able to visit one for the first time. Man that was *delicious*. I can see why that vanilla latte is so well known and well regarded. I got the oat milk version and I don't know what oat milk they're using but definitely not something basic like the Califia Farms which is fine I like Califia Farms but this was really creamy and smooth and rich. It tasted like it might've been Ghost Town oat milk if you know Ghost Town anyway I'm rambling but it was *delicious*. Alfred is definitely on my radar now. read more

Been here 3 times. Staff is "nice" but the lattes have zero flavor. I'm not sure what kind of syrup they are using. They are inconsistent for the pricing and they were out of pretty much all the desserts I wanted by Monday 9am lmaoo. Also half way thru making my latte they said they were out of that as well. These new gentrified progressive mason-jar cup businesses need to stop asking for tip up front . Learn business tips from some old school boomers. Went there for the hype, but really not a relaxing location. There were too many people and there's no indoor section, only few sitting spots. Need I say that finding parking was horrible. Too many office workers around the area come to visit. I got the lavender iced coffee and it was nothing out of the ordinary. Coffee itself was smooth tho. read more

I came here the other day to pick up my hot vanilla latte which I ordered through the app. My drink had some coffee on the lid which I was able to clean up since I had napkins in my car. I didn't see any napkins at the pick up window. Not only did my kid have coffee on it but coffee was running down the sides of the cup. My white painted were stained in 3 different locations and my hand was sticky from the cup. I have never been given a coffee cup that had so much coffee on the outside. The vanilla latte just isn't for me. I've tried it hot and cold with different milk and still find it a bit bitter. Looking forward to trying a lemonade as I think I'll find that a better fit. This location is very cute but I can see parking being a challenge depending on when you come. It is a to go order location but they do have a few tables out front but no shade. read more

I'd say value is not the best, but I can never downvote coffee that packs a punch. I got an iced vanilla latte for myself and hit matcha latte for a friend, and we both made it through the rest of the day of errands without once complaining about being tired so in that way, Alfred did its job. Was it the best coffee I've ever had? No. Was it overpriced? Yes. Also, side note, tried their breakfast burrito at the MDR location, and do not recommend it! It is not made in store. It's premade elsewhere and then just heated up. So cannot be altered. And also tastes that way. read more

Tucked on a corner this Alfred is open early, which for us is welcome. The kid has a zero period which means school starts at 7:30am for him, so if we want morning coffee/tea this is the place to be since they are open and in full swing. We can order on the App before 7 and pick up our drinks before school because they open at 6:30am. The drinks are always on point and the staff super friendly even super early. We like that there are a few tables outside but not really anything we are going to utilize. read more

There were a lot of people in line so we were excited it would be awesome for our first time here. It's pricey like most things nowadays. I got a teeny tiny latte for $6.75 plus tax and tip. It was like 5 sips. Smaller than most places. They charge 75¢ for alternative milk which is less expensive and better for the animals, our health and the environment. But if you can charge extra of course you still will like many other places. The person who took our order was not friendly at all. We were waiting for staff to help us at the window for a while (they were busy so it was understandable) She didn't greet us she just looked at us. So I asked if their signature vanilla latte was plant-based/vegan. She said it could be with alternative milk. Thankfully I asked if the vanilla syrup was vegan. She said no. So therefore it could not be made vegan like she said. Glad I checked. Then we asked about the lavender syrup "are there any animal products like dairy in the lavender syrup?" She said "I don't think so". Totally understand if you don't know but please go ask someone who does or get the bottle to check. We finally ordered something and sat to wait for our drinks. Like I said, it was busy for a late Saturday morning. The few seats outside are terribly uncomfortable. So once our drinks were ready, we decided to walk around.
