I have been to this commissary multiple times and today there was a gentleman with the white shirt that took my order that was super sweet super kind and had just this really angelic aura. Tall and handsome with an amazing smile. Commissary, you might wanna bring more energy like that into your staff. People like him change the ambience in a café. I was there around 9 AM, and ordered the lavender latte. I did not get his name because it's early and it was busy and I did not want to hold up the line however I have a message for him. Anyway, gave it a shot and stayed. I ordered the tater tots and was disappointed. They appeared like they needed to be air fried some more bc they lacked that golden toasted color. Like if they were from an old batch. Or they were extremely frozen and the ice caused them to get greyish. You know when meat has been in the freezer for too long. Anyways, they tasted ok. The place is good to stop by grab a drink and head out. Not an ideal place to stay and work. The stools make it uncomfortable and hard on your back! This is a great little shop for an early morning coffee run with friends or remote work and breakfast. There is so much seating, but it gets super busy. The staff moved the line along pretty quickly though. The coffee was delicious but it didn't stand out to me too much. If anything I would come back for the breakfast and pastries. Matcha - powdery, not a great flavor/didn't taste like good quality matcha and wasn't mixed well/kept settling. Short Rib Hash - really bad. Iced Cookie Butter Latte ($7): 7.5/10 This was a special for the winter holidays. The flavor was tasty and smooth, but it didn't feel particularly unique compared to other lattes I've had. Hot Vanilla Latte ($7): 7.5/10 It was a solid, decent drink, but it didn't really stand out as something special. Smoked Salmon Toast ($15): 7/10 It was decent and had generous toppings, which I really appreciated. Personally, I still think the Glendale location does it a little better, but this one was satisfying and visually appealing. I love the art on the box that it comes with! Iced Strawberry Mocha ($7): 8.5/10 This was a Valentine's Day special, and my favorite drink. It was sweet, refreshing, and just what I needed to stay alert during my study session. I really hope they keep this drink on the menu even after the month ends because it was great. Red Velvet Cookie: 6/10 The cookie had a typical flavor, but it was a little dry and hard. Heating it would have made it much more enjoyable. Atmosphere & Seating: The café itself is very inviting, with seating available both inside and outside. There is plenty of space, so it can accommodate groups or individuals who want to work or hang out. The decorations are cute and add a cozy, cheerful atmosphere. The café can get quite crowded, especially earlier in the day. The line can be long at times, but it moves quickly, so it's not too much of an issue. Outlets are available, making it convenient to work or study for a few hours, but the music can get quite loud. If you are sensitive to noise or need to focus, I highly recommend bringing noise-canceling headphones. Near the entrance, there is a self-serve area stocked with utensils, spoons, forks, lids, straws, and napkins, which is very convenient. Parking: Parking is somewhat limited. There is a small lot in the back, but it is almost always full when I have visited, so street parking is usually necessary. Bathroom: The bathroom requires a code, which you can ask the staff for. It is located outside, which might be for the best because the bathroom smelled unpleasant, was dirty, and the toilet was clogged when I went in. read more

This is a stand alone coffee shop that sits in a busy intersection but the noise and the bustle gets filtered out once you are inside. It's a cute small coffee shop with ample seating and plenty of sunlight from the windows. If you want fresh air, their outdoor seating has great ambiance, perfect for group settings. Service was okay. Although they took my order effeciently, the interaction was transactional. I ordered an iced cubano which was so good, not too sweet and still had a strong smooth coffee taste. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie to go which is worth the price they listed. Large, chewy and melt in your mouth chocolate chips. I wanted to find a new spot to stop by before grabbing the train and I will be coming here for my travel drink. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. read more

I love Commissary. It's my place. I go nearly every day. I spend a minimum of $100/month there. I love everyone who works there, they know my name, my coffee order, my lunch order. It's so disheartening to walk inside my favorite place in high heat summer and have it be just as hot inside as it is outside. It's over 90 degrees in there. I'm sweating, everyone in line is sweating and miserable and can't wait to leave. The saddest part is watching the most vibrant people working behind the counter having to just endure the unrelenting miserable heat. They're smiling taking my order with sweat dripping down their faces. It's unsafe. It's not okay. I would pass out it if I had to stay another 10 minutes. Stopped by for some coffee after getting my free breakfast at the Chick-fil-A next door! I had their summer special, an espresso soda with coconut creme. It was tasty and supposed to hint as a summer italian soda treat but I think the secret ingredient was Squirt soda. I stumbled upon this joint and was pleasantly surprised. The outside of the building was designed well and once I entered the building, the vibe matched the look. Super cool vibes, music pumping, indoor/outdoor seating, all around, my kinda vibes. I've been here a few times already and most recently I met up with an out of town friend that was passing by. We went in on a weekday afternoon, place is easy to find, and neither of us had an issue with parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Inside is not too loud, air conditioned, but it can get busy and finding a table is sometimes hard. Outside patio is shaded, they have nice greenery that really makes it feel separate and intimate. You do have to deal with mosquitos though. I have to say the outdoor seating is also not the best. The seats are weathered, old, and almost dangerous because they can get splintery. My friend was wearing a skirt, and when she got up, the skirt caught on the splintering wood and ruined her skirt. If you're wearing shorts, and have kids, I would suggest taking an inside seat or taking your order to go. We did order drinks and pastries to enjoy on the patio because we wanted more privacy. I got an iced latte with a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was pretty big, definitely shareable, and really delicious. The coffee was ok. I wish it was stronger but it went well with the cookie. Service was nice and patient. People had dogs with them. It is in the neighborhoods so you definitely see some foot traffic passing through. read more

No one says hi, no one makes eye contact with you or smiles. When it was my turn to walk up to the register and order the girl taking my order didn't say hi, didn't ask how can I help you.. Instead she faced the back of her hand to me with a "come here" motion and when I walked up to the counter, she still didn't say a word! My experience today was odd, this lady ringing me up was a lighter skinned African American lady with straightened hair and two mini pony tails ontop of her head. She was quite rude to me, I asked if I could order the eggs Benedict and she just simply said "no" and didn't explain why after like a solid 5 seconds of awkward silence, then I ordered something else and asked for no meat, and I was served two large sausage patties ontop of my vegetarian plate, which didn't even come with the original plate on the menu. I told another worker and he was VERY helpful. She just stared at me. I love this place, it really shows you how one sour employee can change your whole experience. Why are they hiring these people ? I ordered the brisket breakfast burrito along with truffle tots and an expreso cubano bomb.com everything I had was just perfect. It was busy but the service and cooks were on it, they have plenty of sitting areas inside as well outside they have 2 patios. The place was nice and clean the employees were awesome, they have a great system going with the cooks and the baristas they were just pumping out the food and drinks. Burrito is so solid! Great way to start the day. Comes with chips & salsa - both of which are fantastic. A nice touch. Angeleno Burrito is so satisfying, great flavor, lots of good stuff in it. Crispy cheese on the outside is cool. My only qualm is that the habanero hot sauce is pretty overpowering. I'm not much of a spice guy, & I wish I had ordered it without bc it adds a little kick to it & takes away from the rest of the flavor in the burrito. And the salsa on the side would be the perfect alternative for me to flavor up the burrito without the habanero sauce. Drip coffee got the job done--solid drip coffee. I'd get it again. Idk how people typically park, but I parked on the street which says 1-hour parking. Not sure if they actually check or not but I was a little paranoid bc I wanted to stay longer. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I am an avid and dedicated coffee drinker. I truly believe having bad coffee is bad for the soul and secondly I don't understand how some people hate or don't drink coffee, finally always tip the people who make your coffee. This is a true skill that needs to be appreciated and respected. Anyway the Commissary is a no frills coffee shop in Burbank. The seating reminds me of a cafeteria functionality over appearance. Now the staff is very friendly and ordering was simple. I went with a black coffee. I am a simple man and enjoy the true taste of my Java. I loved the flavor and the strength of the coffee. I went with the Brisket burrito which was enjoyable. It came with chips and salsa. The burrito and salsa both had a great flavor. I just wish the salsa had some heat. The name caught our attention. This place is an obvious neighborhood staple. The menu options weren't quite as diverse as hoped. We ordered the Avocado Toast. Although delicious, attempting to cut into it was a task and shouldn't be looked upon if you're trying to walk away full. It would have been more enjoyable if it was cut to smaller bites and the arugula didn't really enhance the dish. For some reason my pic of the dish didn't come put or it would be posted. It was a hopping place on a Friday at 11am. The guests all seemed to be enjoying themselves and it had a typical coffeehouse vibe. We were only there for about 30 minutes. It was primarily chosen for convenience as our visit was planned for Warner Bros Studios tour just down the street.
