Great place to work. Free wifi, the seats are cushy & comfortable, and the vibe is creative. Lots of laptops camp out here. Bring noise cancelling AirPods though, because it can get noisy with the overhead music and the conversations taking place. The food is fantastic. I've been coming here for years for the Tuna Niçoise salad. Hits every time. Their Matcha Latte is always served at the right temp so you can drink it immediately, and they don't skimp on the serving size. I stopped by Romancing the Bean while my car was charging and ended up finding such a cute local coffee shop. I told the barista I thought the name was really creative, and she explained that it comes from the idea of "romancing the bean," kind of like romancing your life. I thought that was such a fun concept. I ordered an iced spicy brown sugar latte with oat milk and one less pump of sweetener, and it was perfect. Not too sweet and really well balanced. I also tried one of their gluten free cookies, and after a few bites I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The shop has a great atmosphere whether you're looking for a place to work on your laptop or catch up with friends. The service was friendly, and everyone made me feel welcome. The only downside was that the drink lid was a little flimsy and spilled pretty easily with any movement. Also, the restroom was out of service during my visit. Thankfully, the owner has another location just down the street and let me use the restroom there, which I really appreciated. The ice latte there is genuinely one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is really interesting as it blends a combo of Burbank families with studio people--with very little hipster infestation lol oh and the parking is also really easy on the two side streets. The biggest issue is the service :-( the baristas are all just really mean and unkind and never even acknowledge you or present themselves to you, so you have to ask them to take your order, etc, and they just have a bad vibe. This isn't Disneyland or even Trader Joe's. You can also tell the folks who work there are not locals or else they'd be nice--Burbank is not known for its "LA vibe." It's a small town. People here are nice and make you feel accepted and present. My friend (not a local) said the same thing and so did several colleagues who work in the city. What a charming Cafe! We were wandering around the neighborhood and browsing the adorable vintage shops when we happened upon this cute coffee shop and stopped in for a cold, caffeinated beverage and a snack. The ambience is very cozy and chic with lots of interior seating and limited outdoor seating. The sweets display was appealing and we had a difficult time choosing what we wanted to eat because everything looked so good. We probably would've ordered more but we had just had lunch an hour before so we weren't that hungry. We ordered an iced oat milk Matcha latte and a slice of the chocolate pistachio cake. The cake itself was delicious, moist, and had a nice pistachio flavoring. Always drove by the spot and have been wanting to try it! Pleasantly surprised and worth it. I tried some of their spring menu drinks which included the Bunny Hop and Sweet Spring. The Bunny Hop is a white mocha strawberry latte and it was delicious; the strawberry added sweetness and freshness. Sweet spring is a butter pecan caramel latte and it was good coffee with slight notes of butter pecan. Service was great , I was allowed time to look over their extensive menu as it was my first time. Drinks and food came out fast. Came here with a friend so we could enjoy some antique shopping after a coffee date. I got a lavender green tea, to enjoy inside and enjoyed the mason jar. I did also get the "big o" mexican cookie, which was BIG and oh, so delicious (with a little kick). The staff was friendly, and I appreciated that they bussed our tables soon after me and my friend finished our food. Braved the rainy streets of Burbank, California and met up with some friends at Romancing The Bean. This place has a great vibe. Makes you want to be creative in creating art, work on projects and to get together with your friends and just pop out ideas on how to work together. My friends and I are working on a script so this cafe was a must. Romancing The Bean has an outside sitting area that was closed today due to the torrential downpour. So we went inside. Which was bubbling with people having conversations or typing on their laptops. I loved it. We sat near the front windows. My friends on a half booth connected to the wall and I on a cute circular tan wooden chair. We had two small circular marble tables in between us to but out notepads, pens and files down on. There are so many breakfast and lunch food and drink options. I went to the counter and ordered a hot chai latte with almond milk and was intrigued by the desserts I saw in the chilled display. It was a huge slice of cake with fruit on top. I had to have it! The person at the register was friendly and the barista very fast in making my drink. Back at the tables my friends and I worked on our project, conversed with people siting next to us and people watched. Some even people watched back and smiled. There are only a few outlets when it comes to plugging in your laptop or cell phone. So try to come to the cafe with your electronics with some battery life. On the way to the restroom there's a fun sign near the cooking area (which is visible to all. That is so cool by the way.) that says "No Whining". There's also a community board with so many different postcards and notes about classes, performances, apartment rentals and more. Unfortunately, we just missed breakfast and they were out of salmon for their salad, so we just opted for an acai bowl, and I got a tasty 'purple' smoothie while she got a pumpkin-spiced coffee. Oh, this place is a gem! I love the coffee, the Hibiscus tea, the food, and everything about the ambiance. It has that classic Paris Bistro vibe--- Good food and good coffee. I had the caprese salad this time around, with a side of their yummy in-house kettle chips. So addicting. Not excited to update my review based on my last experience. For starters, I used to love Romancing the Bean and would come here for an afternoon pick me up, study session, or to hang out with friends. It was exciting and always something to look forward to. Unfortunately my recent experience was nothing like it used to be. I decided to take two friends here to catch up and celebrate and thought it would be fun to come to Romancing the Bean since we used to come here all the time. We showed up around 2:30pm and were excited because it wasn't crowded and there wasn't a line to order. Then it went downhill. My friends wanted to get the caramel frappe (it was their favorite before) and I decided to try the seasonal Coco-Loco (espresso, dark chocolate sauce, coconut milk) since the barista recommended it on the seasonal drinks sign. I did tell her I am not always the biggest fan of coconut, so we subbed almond milk, but was otherwise I expecting something great! My drink came first and it looked like it had the potential to be great, but looks can be deceiving. It should have essentially been an iced mocha latte, but it had a very strange taste and the dark chocolate sauce was chalky (and chunky) at the bottom of the cup. No amount of stirring could redeem this drink - it's just not for me. I was disappointed, but was willing to deal with it to not let my friends know my drink was not good. But the unfortunate saga continues! Here comes my friends frappe... looking like a blended cup of milk with maybe 2 ice cubes filled all the way to the brim (no whipped cream, no caramel sauce, just blended milk). It didn't look like a frappe at all and didn't taste like caramel flavor either. My friends would get this drink all the time and had one recently so they knew right away the drink was off. On top of that, it was spilling on the counter and we come to find the lid isn't even fully on, leading us to have to dump half in the trash as we cleaned up the dripping. This took a couple of minutes and no assistance was offered from the staff, if they even noticed, as we wrangled the cup and milky-mush-not-frappe by the door. Safe to say, this beverage absolutely would not do, and we didn't want to be down nearly $13 between these two lackluster beverages. We took the sad excuse for a frappe back to the counter. It was obvious the barista knew the drink was whack by the way she looked at the cup as she walked up to us. She took a long glance at the dripping cup, then at us, then at the cup again, and she offered to remake it as we started to explain the poor consistency and flavor of the liquid-y beverage, the dripping, the lid not being on, and the lacking any resemblance to a frappe with no whipped cream and no caramel drizzle. After the drink gets remade and the barista says "does it look better?" as she was turning back away from the pick up counter. Now I would really like to believe for her sake it was asked from a place of genuine curiosity, rather than as a snarky, rude, rhetorical question. I'll let you take a guess (correct answer: it was the latter). This experience was a 1/5 star experience. I only decided to given them 2 stars since we at least finally got a beverage that seemed adequate by the end of it, even though the kindness and genuineness of the service was questionable. I personally don't plan to come back anytime soon. This place is not what it used to be. I do sincerely hope that changes. read more

Back in 2022, this use to be the most cozy coffee shop. Service and quality has taken a nosedive since then. Our drinks were never delivered to our table. When I asked to confirm if the drinks at counter were ours, the sourfaced woman was so rude and condescending. I can tell that she truly hates her job. Either hire more workers, so the baristas are not overwhelmed or get new service. I won't be returning here - Palms Coffee Bar is right down the street and has a much friendlier vibe & better drinks. read more

Now let's get back to my drink. Iced matcha. Bland and watered down. Terrible. Also, had one of their vegan almond tea cakes. I love vegan pastries. This was not done well. Tasted stale and just not good at all. I love animals. Here you can count on having 80lb poodles with their fur floating in the air next to you while you eat inside. lol I've got no beef with the dogs. Prefer them to humans but not in an inclosed area while I'm eating. Food and customer service here was terrible. Better off going across the street to the other local spots or hitting up a basic Starbucks. If your vibe is over priced bland drinks with poor customer service in a fancy room. I visited for the first and last time today. When I was ready to order, an employee came up to ask my order and then walked away to talk to another customer and never came back. Finally, another employee came up and took my order - a bagel with butter and jam and a matcha latte. Got my order and left. The latte was very meh, even with lavender added to it. But the worst part is that when my bagel had finally cooled down, I opened the bag and discovered a plain toasted bagel. No butter, no jam, just a plain toasted bagel. I'm truly at a loss. read more

This coffee snob is not so snobby here. You can get a great cup of Joe here as well as non caffeinated drinks. The inside is pretty big with very high ceilings and plenty of tables. However, they fill up fast so you may have to wait a few minutes to grab one. There is also an outside patio on the sidewalk since the Pandemic. They also have a nice menu if your tummy is rumbling for a sweet or maybe a savory sandwich or salad?! Street parking only is free for 2 hours. Read the signs to be safe. The acoustics can get a bit noisy. They have a restroom in the back and if you're not happy with your drink they will remake it. *They have Gift Certificates available at the counter. read more

Romancing the Bean romanced me with their excellent coffee. I've been on a little coffee exploration mission this past week and RTB wins best of this highly unscientific project. My go to is a hot breve latte and today's was strong and smooth. The lemon ricotta scone wasn't too shabby either. Lots of flavor and not super sweet. Service was excellent as it was both friendly and efficient. RTB is attractive inside with plenty of comfortable seating. There are tables outside too. More often than not. Don't get me wrong - the coffee itself is good enough. The problem is, more often than not, it's lukewarm, or so near to it that once you add cream it is. Why, I don't understand. I got to numerous cafes in the Valley: Giorla, Aroma, Harvest Moon, La Rochelle, Superba, Ugly Mug... You get the idea. There are a lot of them. And it's pretty much a given that when you order the coffee it will be HOT. Why can't Romancing the Bean consisently provide hot coffee? Can't imagine. But for someone who really does go to a coffee shop for the coffee, it's frustrating to have to keep asking them to remake your cup (which sometimes they will, awkward if this means remaking a whole urn, or sometimes they'll just give you a cup from the other roast, so you get a hot cup of coffee, but it's either too strong or too weak, depending on what you originally ordered.) Should you go there? Well, there are a lot of good reasons to do so - nice people, nice ambiance, lively location. And in fairness, many people just want a cozy place to hang out. But if a nice hot cup of coffee is high on your priorities, maybe not so much. read more

I was there earlier got two drinks a matcha and a secret butter beer I was excited to try them with a friend but when I got there I was told if the drink was a latte or what it was because they didn't have a clue so I just showed them my order turns out they don't have a butter beer which was weird because it's under the secret menu and it allows me to order it but that's fine. So I got the matcha and a cherry latte, from the moment I saw the color on the matcha I knew it wasn't going to be good more like milk than matcha. The cherry latte was like if i was eating a cherry flavored car air freshener and on top of that I placed my order at 4pm since I was in a rush and I had to wait an additionally 20 mins for my order.
