What a charming Cafe! We were wandering around the neighborhood and browsing the adorable vintage shops when we happened upon this cute coffee shop and stopped in for a cold, caffeinated beverage and a snack. The ambience is very cozy and chic with lots of interior seating and limited outdoor seating. The sweets display was appealing and we had a difficult time choosing what we wanted to eat because everything looked so good. We probably would've ordered more but we had just had lunch an hour before so we weren't that hungry. We ordered an iced oat milk Matcha latte and a slice of the chocolate pistachio cake. The cake itself was delicious, moist, and had a nice pistachio flavoring. The chocolate frosting was a little too sweet, but it worked out because the Matcha was not so sweet so they balanced each other out The menu looked quite big and we will definitely have to stop in for lunch next time!

    Bunny Hop , Sweet Spring

Always drove by the spot and have been wanting to try it! Pleasantly surprised and worth it. I tried some of their spring menu drinks which included the Bunny Hop and Sweet Spring. The Bunny Hop is a white mocha strawberry latte and it was delicious; the strawberry added sweetness and freshness. Sweet spring is a butter pecan caramel latte and it was good coffee with slight notes of butter pecan. Service was great , I was allowed time to look over their extensive menu as it was my first time. Drinks and food came out fast. The ambiance is great , way bigger inside than I thought and nicely decorated. Plenty of seating inside with some seats outside. Overall , loved it and would come back to try their sandwiches!

Really great spot in Burbank with ample, comfortable seating to work in. Coffee was fantastic. I got a Brie toast as well with apple and caramelized onion and it was top tier. Staff could be a bit friendlier, but overall a good experience

Braved the rainy streets of Burbank, California and met up with some friends at Romancing The Bean. This place has a great vibe. Makes you want to be creative in creating art, work on projects and to get together with your friends and just pop out ideas on how to work together. My friends and I are working on a script so this cafe was a must. Romancing The Bean has an outside sitting area that was closed today due to the torrential downpour. So we went inside. Which was bubbling with people having conversations or typing on their laptops. I loved it. We sat near the front windows. My friends on a half booth connected to the wall and I on a cute circular tan wooden chair. We had two small circular marble tables in between us to but out notepads, pens and files down on. There are so many breakfast and lunch food and drink options. I went to the counter and ordered a hot chai latte with almond milk and was intrigued by the desserts I saw in the chilled display. It was a huge slice of cake with fruit on top. I had to have it! The person at the register was friendly and the barista very fast in making my drink. Back at the tables my friends and I worked on our project, conversed with people siting next to us and people watched. Some even people watched back and smiled. There are only a few outlets when it comes to plugging in your laptop or cell phone. So try to come to the cafe with your electronics with some battery life. On the way to the restroom there's a fun sign near the cooking area (which is visible to all. That is so cool by the way.) that says "No Whining". There's also a community board with so many different postcards and notes about classes, performances, apartment rentals and more. If you're ever on Magnolia Boulevard between Hollywood Way and California Street you must check out Romancing The Bean!

    Avocado Toast with Poached Egg
    Amanda R.

Very expensive! Two slices of toast with a poached egg, a cold brew, and a black Americano cost me $65 before tip! Food quality felt low for the price- avocado seemed like a spread from a bag, very thin layer, poached eggs were hard all the way through. If I paid 40-45$ for this breakfast I'd be less disappointed, but this ran me almost 80 bucks once I tipped.

Chai Latte and half Half Sandwich w/ Souphalf

Love the chai latte and half soup/half sandwich options! Great ambiance and customer service. Kitchen staff delivered my food and offered to pick it up, nice gesture even though there's a plate drop off option. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Really enjoyed my time eating, drinking and reading my book there.

Local burbank breakfast lunch spot. I love their pastries - almond croissant, muffins - very unique flavors. Don't even get me started on the cookies - so good! You order at the front counter and are given a number if you are dining in, they will deliver your food directly to your able. They will also bus the table after you finish eating. Love. how many neighbors around magnolia area, gather here, on this morning you could see several friends catching up over coffee and some food. Servers are nice and the space is very opening.

I adore this place. Service is great and quick depending on the line, but they hustle! More importantly they're nice. Interior is hip. Coffee is good. Food and pastries are delightful. Sit inside and plug away on your laptop or sit outside with a friend and enjoy the sun.

Are there outlets to plug in my laptop?

Yes there are scattered outlets underneath the benches on the wall. It just requires you to bend under the bench and squeeze it in sometimes.

Are there gluten free breads/wrap options?

They do have gluten free bread that you can sub for the sandwiches. The spinach wraps are not gluten free though. I highly recommend the avocado toast on the gluten free bread!!

Didn't want run of the mill food so opted to try Broken Compass Tiki. When we walked in we were wondering what we were in for. After being taken into the restaurant we both fell in love. The place was so fun, the food was epic and service tremendous. Since our first visit literally 4 months ago, I have taken people 3 different times to this restaurant. I don't live any where near Burbank but in the last few months had the pleasure of being near there and telling friends we had to go! It's so fun to go with first timers. Great vegan options too for my friend who is Vegan and usually gets a salad and fries ha.

    - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.

That's why Allison at Finney's is so kick-ass. She runs Finney's flawlessly. I'm a big foodie and hit up lots of different restaurants around LA, and Finney's in Burbank has definitely become my go-to spot. Allison does such a great job of providing a great customer experience from the moment I walk in to paying my tab. We ordered the house IPAs and they were deliciously hoppy. Will be back to try their other house beers for sure. We ordered the brussel sprouts with bacon for our appetizer. The figs was such a nice sweet layer to the crispy, crunch, and tart brussels. Paired well with the bacon too. Ordered the proscuitto with arugula flatbread for our "main". Amazed that it was $14 and it was a pretty big flatbread! I would say that the proscuitto wasnt spread out enough. There were some pieces that didnt have any at all! The proscuitto gave the salty, arugula added a nice pepper flavor, and the honey drizzle gave it a sweetness. Checked all the boxes. Will definitely be back to try more of their bar bites, if not just for that flatbread and beers!

They do have parking behind the building which seems to fill pretty quickly if they're busy, but it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. I am not usually in the tavern scene so I was surprised that we had to order and pay at the bar, but it wasn't a big issue. My friend and I split the kale caesar salad and the macaroni and cheese. For the table, I ordered the waffle fries after being informed by the kind waitress that that was the better choice over the pretzel (which she also said was amazing). Since the place was filling up for the final, the kitchen was a bit slow, but we barely noticed with how attentive the staff were in getting us drinks and refills. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised with this place and is honestly the reason I'm writing this review. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!
