The hype for this place from social media is heavily influencing their business. The "world famous vanilla latte" is just a lot of milk, 2 shots espresso and the tiniest amount of vanilla. You can't really taste anything but the milk. Not worth almost $10. We also tried mocha latte, hazelnut latte. Nothing tastes amazing. read more

I love Alfred coffee-wise...but the burritos are a joke. I just paid $10 for the tiniest, flavorless breakfast burrito I've ever seen in my entire life. Sauce container for scale. I dig this place. Coffee is good and quick. Decor is clean and fresh. Fantastic location in the heart of Old Pas. Not necessarily a place for study or work. Seating is limited inside and half the outdoor spots are in a shady breezeway. This is the pace for a quick and pleasant jolt. read more

I do not understand the hype of Alfred Coffee. I have tried a multitude of different drinks here (seasonal specials, matcha, their "famous" vanilla latte, etc.) and nothing has blown me away. In fact, I would say their "famous" vanilla latte is one of my least favorite vanilla lattes I've ever had, and I also recently tried their new sugar-free vanilla and it was actually disgusting. Compared to other coffee shops around town, their drinks are very overpriced. There isn't much space in the cafe itself to sit, so it's more accurately a grab-and-go then it is a cafe. I don't think I have ever experienced the staff to be friendly here either. Every time I've been here they are rude and could care less about their customers. The only thing I do appreciate is they offer a macadamia milk (for a dollar extra :( ) that has no additional sugar, which is hard to come by. I feel like I've given Alfred a more than fair shot, and I really cannot recommend them unless you need a sugar-free dairy-free milk option for your coffee, but your time and money would be better spent at one of the many other wonderful coffee shops in Pasadena. read more

Finally, an Alfreds coffee that doesn't require you to drive all the way to the west side! Honestly, loved my visit earlier this morning - great ambiance, great service and great coffee as well. I opted for the oat latte with hazelnut syrup and it was one of the most smoothest coffees I've had in a while. I will say it's a bit pricey, and will probably set you back around $7 once you account for all the milk and syrup adjustments but I think it's a nice treat every once and while when you're looking to mix things up a bit. Parking can be a bit tricky though as it's tucked away on a busy corner of Colorado but there are a bunch of metered parking spots and garages nearby. read more

This location is the worst location ever it's so upsetting to have ordered on the app and once you get there, you're denied by this very dismissive barista I was charged extra so that I can get my drink the way I want it. It's crazy that the barista denied to make My drink away. I asked just like every customer ask to have their drink made to there liking he did not even attempt to customer service me not one bit. I politely asked OK well if you can't make it, just return me my money then to be told . OK I'll return your money later and then just be dismissed as if I was an inconvenience, my money that I paid Was gonna be given to me back when he wanted to. The way that this company expects to be paid immediately. That is how I expect to be returned my money I did not say that I wanted my money cash in hand right there. I just requested for him to do my return at that moment, but then to be told you can leave. I have to help this next customer. I did not make a scene. I walked out that location and still have not gotten my return or a drink because he just refused to make my drink. I've gone to this location and lots of different location and they've made My drink with no problem but this one particular barista would not make it. It's crazy to think how much money I spend on a weekly basis to get my regular drink at Alfred's believe me I understand I'm one customer but I pay a lot of money to get my drink the way I want it on a regular. I am ordering maybe two drinks a day Costing me about nine dollars each drink I spent good money there to be treated as if I was an inconvenience to this particular barista, I don't know who pissed in his Cheerios this morning, but that is extremely upsetting to be treated like that. Maybe it was racial. I don't know he was a white guy and I'm a Hispanic woman in a predominantly white area. I guess from here on out I'm gonna have to give my money to small mom and Pop shops because clearly Alfred is not deserving with this type of customer service and the way this bar be behaved. read more

SAVE YOUR TIME & SAVE YOUR MONEY This Alfred's location was very disappointing due to their unprofessional baristas. They were very rude, unwelcoming, and not informative at all. There is a particular gentlemen with reading glasses that did not greet our party at all & seemed very bothered & frustrated taking our orders. His unwelcoming energy ruined our first time experience at this location. One could tell by his body language that he does not enjoy his job & his time at Alfred's. All in all, we love Alfred's coffee & it was so unfortunate to have an experience as such. We expected more from this coffee shop. read more

Yeay I finally got to try a $5 watered down Americano. Actually it's a $5 watered down Americano with a shit ton of ice. The amount of ice they put in a cup of ice coffee was a rip off. Definitely not worth it. Vanilla syrup was good but nothing spectacular even if they do make it in house. I don't know what's the big deal with this place. No more driving to the west side for Alfreds woohoo! The world famous vanilla latte is great but recently have been very into the simple syrup lattes here. Matcha lattes are also good if you like matcha. I recommend downloading the app so you can order for pick up and skip the lines (it can get hectic in here sometimes). Staff is really friendly and this location has a restroom! Ask staff for the code! AND - they have the coolest straws. You'll have to go see for yourself. read more

I've only placed orders online to pick up in store and have never had any issue. The shop is super cute. Parking in old town Pasadena can be a nightmare so allow yourself time. I was excited to see their menu selection. The food is giving East Coast. The coffee is mid especially for the price. The "world famous" iced vanilla latte is probably the best coffee on the menu but it's also underwhelming. It's a little bitter and the vanilla tastes a bit artificial. Waited FOREVER for this location to open. Ended up moving out of town in June. Apparently they finally opened in July! Cane back to town to visit friends and stopped in to try this ionic LA coffee. First time trying their coffee and I got the Chaga Cold Brew. I didn't see it on the menu in store but I saw it online and I just knew I had to try it! Definitely didn't disappoint and is so refreshing. Taken from their online menu, their Chaga Cold Brew is "Our chaga blend (chaga, cacao, cinnamon, vanilla, monkfruit), mixed with Alfred Cold Brew." I'm usually not a fan of cinnamon but this one wasn't overpowering and it went really well with the cold brew. Only sad thing is that it's $6.50 for a regular size but I can't complain because I still bought it and will probably still continue to since it's so close to work. Definitely coming back! read more

I don't typically reviews chains and well this is sort of a chain right? But damn I've never had a bad coffee from here. Their classic vanilla latte with oat milk is so smooth so perfectly sweet and you can see and taste the vanilla bean. And their almond croissant pastry, well I dream about that. Cute little coffee place in old town Pasadena, across from the Apple Store. Their pastries gets sold out fast but the almond croissant is really yummy, one of my favorites! Coffee drinks are just fine, little pricey but I suppose it's better than Starbucks. I crave the croissant sometimes though. Easy to miss the store if you never been there. Look for the window where it says "fresh bagels". I don't think the name is on the storefront. read more

The bagel sandwiches are so good ! There aren't a lot of great bagel options in Pasadena so I'm happy Alfred's is able to fill that need. I've tried their lox bagel, the greenie bagel, and their BLT, all of which are delicious. I'm a sucker for a good lox bagel though and that's been my favorite since they opened. If you do go I highly suggest trying their Chagachinno as well, was pleasantly surprised when it had more of a cinnamon chocolate taste that wasn't too sweet. read more
