Maybe the energy that it has but it's so welcoming all around. You'll find that this is a perfect spot for just grabbing good coffee, a meeting or just some downtime. Love that each table has a convenient plug in to charge your cell phone or your computer. This is great cause you'll find yourself there for hours! SERVICE Great customer service. They offer quick service with minimum wait time. The team behind the counter is always ready to serve. FOOD Today, I ordered the pastrami sandwich along with my favorite prince drink! Typically I can only finish half of my sandwich but today I ate everything! Yes, it was that good. The bread to the pastrami was fresh. Stopped by a quick coffee and breakfast just in the neighborhood, and this place hit the spot. I normally just drink iced coffee or cold brew, but their lattes sounded intriguing. So I tried the taro ube latte and it was delicious and not overwhelmingly sweet. Also got avocado toast, which was really delicious with the cheese and pickled red onion. Only con is that it's kind of freezing inside, so I suggest a long sleeve if you are to enjoy food and drinks inside. I got to see come cute dogs while dining inside and will be back to get some work done or to try some delicious coffee. read more

What a cute coffee shop! I got the ube mochi waffles (amazinggggg) and an ube latte. Both were absolutely delicious!! It's pretty crowded so expect to wait a little but it was worth it in my opinion! There's some indoor and outdoor seating but it does get crowded on the weekend!! read more

Came back a second time thinking this experience will be different but now this is definitely my last. Decided to come early morning again to get The Queen Iced. Great drink btw, highly recommend. I'm sure the other drinks are wonderful as well. The reason for the low stars is because I wanted a sleeve for my drink and the lady who I asked she told me I don't need one because it won't fit. I obviously know that. I get sleeves because I don't want my cup holder in my car to get super wet + I wanted to take another photo showing this drink is from Ali'i Coffee. Secondly, she even told me I don't need a straw after getting myself a straw. First off... I like taking care of my teeth, I use the straw so that my coffee doesn't instantly touch my two front teeth. The experience I was given for both situations was threw me off first thing in the morning. I did not want to start my day that way but it's okay. otherwise, coffee amazing! My friends and I had finished hiking and were hungry for something delicious, but we had my friend's fur baby with us so we needed to look for a place that was pet friendly.  One of my friends remembered that Ward Village welcomes pets so we headed to Ali'i Coffee. Ali'i Coffee is located in the former space occupied by Via Gelato near Piggy Smalls.  They are a local, craft coffee bar and roastery offering cold brews on tap, "coff-tails", lattes, and food.  I ordered the Hilo Honey signature latte and the avocado toast - olive rosemary sourdough, pickled onion, feta cheese, greens, balsamic dressing.  I loved my selection. I enjoyed the sweetness of the honey in my latte and the avo toast was delicious. The service here is also excellent and super friendly. I really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely recommend.  They are open daily from 7am to 3pm. read more

Location: on the street with piggy smalls (auahi). Alili has 3 locations - love this ward center location because of the plentiful parking. Nitro heaven here! They have the cutest sandwiches and nitro / latte coffee concoctions. I got the king and asked for it diluted half with nitro because it was too sweet. It was still a little too sweet for me but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Next time will try the matcha! read more

Greenery and woodsy with a splash of beachy. Decor that is very fitting for a Hawaii coffee shop! Been eyeing this cafe since setting my sights on their ube drink on the net. Visited on a Sunday morning, and there was barely a wait. However, the tables were all pretty much full, as space is limited. Knew what I came and flocked for, but as first timers, we were otherwise clueless about the rest of the menu. Wish the cashier gave me her recommendations, or bare minimum, an overview of the options. But she just oddly opted to stare at me instead. Awkward! Iced taro ube latte, added a hot taro ube latte as well, along with the banana milk float. Each were overall delicious. And loved how our hot drink arrived with a cute little latte art. The banana milk float has more of a bold flavor but the banana beautifully complemented the cold brew. The real winner was the iced taro ube latte. Heard a lot of good things from friends so came to check it out, and now I have a new favorite coffee spot in the Ward area! Coffee was excellent. My friend got the Queen latte with hazelnut and toasted coconut ($6.95) - said it was delicious and not too sweet, and I got the small cold brew ($4.75) which was great. Nice place to sit and have a chat - we sat for a long time just catching up and drinking our coffee and staff was very nice about it. This will really wake up Kakaako with all it's new development, luxury condominiums, HART Station, and the economy recovering slowly but surely. Had to grab a cup of Joe before heading out to the gym. Learned of thier opening when I last ate at Maile's Thai Bistro the other weekend because they're right next door to them. What a perfect stop as they are just near my neighborhood. There was lots of action this morning as I see it was there grand opening, media people, and I actually ran into 2 friends from work who are regulars at their Waikiki location. Ali'i Coffee is another small local business that I am super stoked for! I love their OG downtown location, and am so excited that they opened another one in Ward (their other location is in Waikiki). They have fresh coffee, unique latte and cold brews. I have had a bunch of their lattes, but my all-time favorite is the KING! This is a play on Sbux and their super sweet drinks. I myself do not like very sweet drinks, but I feel this is a perfect blend of chocolate, coconut and cold brew. My second favorite is the taro ube latte. Perfectly purple, slightly sweet and silky smooth. I like this one iced, but it also beautiful hot. Of course, this is located in Ward Center, so you can grab parking in the parking structure behind. Or, if you plan to end up at South Shore Market, you can park there and walk across. They have stamp cards also, so if you plan on frequenting them like I will, definitely opt for a stamp card! This is their second location opening up. The espresso shots are loaded with flavor and brightness. You can't go wrong. Having such great espresso shots pulled I thought I would get a cold brew, but maybe that batch was a little watered down. It didn't have much of a flavor profile. I would stick with the espresso shots as they haven't disappointed. read more

A very modern vibe in a locally owned shop. All beans are roasted locally at their other location and light roasted to bring out the flavors. Their coff-tails are like mocktails but with cold brew and wonderful syrups. (I usually get the mint chip. Chocolate, mint, and cold brew ) Tons of seating with plenty of outlets, I definitely plan to come back and remote work from here. The windows make the space feel huge and give a lovely peek into the Ward area. They also have Nitro, a tea, and cold brew on tap. Takes me less than a minute or two to grab a drink and go. I've been to other Ali'i locations and was pleased to learn that this one had recently opened and was closer to me. The location is conveniently near Ala Moana within the Ward shopping center and accessible from the street. My experience here was similar - same menu with more space for seating inside. I tried the taro latte iced - so refreshing and so purple! This was definitely sweeter than I prefer my lattes but I liked the flavor. I also was given a large size when I ordered a small so that was a happy accident. Just be warned, this drink WILL stain your mouth purple so I'd recommend you order this only if you're not planning to be out and about after! read more

I was around the area and wanted coffee, so I decided to try Ali'i Coffee, for the first time. This location is easy to find. The parking structure is right behind it. I just got an iced caramel latte and Ali'i Waffle. I'm not sure if this is the size large iced latte because it's a 12oz to-go cup... anyway, the waffles were good; if I remember correctly , it's a mochi waffle, so it wasn't not dry at all. It also had taste, which isn't a common thing because we put syrup on it anyway. The taro (or ube) sauce had a starchy texture (not really a fan of.) Friendly and courteous staff! It took a little over 10 minutes for it because the staff said that they burned the first one. I didn't mind it at all, but she asked me if I wanted refund for waiting long which I respectfully declined. Overall a great experience. read more

I believe their other location on Oahu is downtown. Always heard good things about this place but getting downtown during their business hours was tough. I'm so happy they have this ward location. It's a small shop but was still able to find a table even though it was leak lunch time. It's clean inside, good air condition, and although a bit loud, a very nice coffee shop experience. I tried the Prince latte and really enjoyed it. Glad I got it half sweet because full pumps of the caramel syrup would be nuts. The avocado toast was delicious! I seriously thought it was whole wheat bread but oops it was sourdough which probably wasn't the smartest healthy decision that day but it was worth it because it was so so yummy! I enjoyed the toast very much. Prices are pretty typical for this kind of establishment these days and I would definitely return again and try their other drinks. My friend enjoyed her matcha latte and Turkey pesto sandwich. The chips the sandwich came with looked good too! I wonder if it's homemade. Give this place a try, you won't regret it. read more

Stumbled upon this cute cafe as we were waiting for a breakfast restaurant to open. I ordered the ube latte that was flavorful and delicious without being too sweet. I also ordered the avocado toast. This had a nice balance of flavors with the creamy avocado and pickled onions to balance the creaminess. If you are in a rush I do t recommend ordering the avo toast as I had to wait quite a bit for it. Came here on a whim during a visit to Roger Dunn golf shop. There is plenty seating inside and I saw a couple of people relaxing whilst working. The drinks are really good here! We ordered an Ube latte and Matcha tea latte. Both were yummy, but the Ube latte was flavorful. Not because they use some powder, I think they actually blend in real taro into their mix. What resulted was a drink that was not too sweet, but packed with taro flavor. Too bad all the pastries sold out when we got there after midday! Perfect iced drinks to a short walk to the golf shop. The King: -I thought it would be too acidic tasting with the cold brew+chocolate, but it was SO good. Good balance between coffee, chocolate, and milk/cream. Tastes like an "adult chocolate milk" haha The Queen: -A latte with a hint of coconut. I think it also had hazelnut in it, but it wasn't as dominating of a flavor. Good specialty latte! Service: -There was a line when we came in, but it moved pretty quickly. -The guys taking our order was very nice -The cold brew (The King) was ready by the time we finished paying. SO FAST! I know my last review said I won't be back but I guess I wanna give them a try for the Ube Latte (since saw so many posts and rave about them). But my rating remains the same, but I was right about not coming back! I walked in and no one ahead of me, only the male worker acknowledged me and the two other female workers are busy making food and have their back turn to the cashier register. I look at the menu and ready to order, stand there not sure if I should interrupt them as they seem busy (I felt like they are understaff since only 3 employees, one is making coffee, one is making food and one is doing order/phone call.) but this can be a busy location. So I waited a bit before one of the female worker ready to take my order. Placed my order and wait a bit and funny thing is the cashier didn't even ask me for a name on the drink. (Which unusual to me because any coffee shop would ask for a name even you're a regular!) but they do have some regulars come in while I wait for my drink. On to the drink, since is a cloudy/rainy day, I wanted a hot latte. But I was sad when I saw the latte art (pic attached) is so different from others (probably you are an influencer or the barista feels happy and not so busy, they will take time to do a pretty latte art) I asked for less syrup and with low fat milk (other alternative milk choice is $1 charge). The latte itself does not have a strong coffee taste but more toward the sweet side and no strong ube taste either. I am pretty sure I won't be back as I tried both their food and latte. This cafe has became one of my fav study places since they have AC, wifi, and outlets at every table which is really nice and convenient. It is a little bit on the pricier side considering the location, but it is very convenient since there is also free parking at Ward Village. The downside are the tree-stump chairs if you are unable to sit on the bench part since I prefer having a seat that has a back-support, but that is my preference. I got their signature latte, the queen which has hazelnut and toasted coconut piece which is one of my favorites. You can the lattes either cold or not, and include any add-ons as well. read more

Typically Starbucks and Coffee Bean only have sugar free vanilla so it's a treat to find a sugar free coconut syrup option! Came by last week before work and got the Prince, which is a Caramel latte with black Himalayan Salt. It was so good! The employees greeted me when I came and left and they were super sweet!
