In summary: great sandwiches, not sure that I love sandwiches in general enough to pay 17 bucks for it again, but if you would, come here! GIOVANNI - Gotta give a shout out also to the lady who was helping me with recommendations. Super helpful and nice, wish I got her name. Anyway, this sandwich normally comes cold but they actually recommended I get it hot and I was in favor of that decision. The warm, toasty semolina bread (you have the option of choosing amongst two or three types) had a bit of a crunch to it and there was plenty of ham making this a meaty sandwich. The spicy pepper spread was enough to give it a kick and let you know it was there but not overpowering in anyway. You could taste the quality of the vegetables in the sandwich and all the components had a role to play, so it was purposeful and thoughtfully planned out. One of the better sandwiches I've had in a long time. Would I pay 17 bucks to try it? yes. Would I pay 17 bucks to have it again? Probably not but I'm not a sandwich person.

The Gothamist is everything you want in a sandwich - it hits you with so many flavors from pesto to the sun dried tomatoes to the burrata. I had it on chewy ciabatta but it was way too chewy my teeth hurt after eating half so will probably pick a different bread next time. However, the service is not good. The workers act like they do not want to work there and do not even look at you when you are ordering. Had to wait a bit just to place an order even though there was no one in line.

Working by The Hugh is a blessing. The amount of options you can choose from is amazing. If you need your Italian sandwich fix, Alidoro is your place. I've tried a few of their sandwiches and I honestly couldn't tell you which one is my all time favorite because they are all delicious. Definitely order on the app because the lines are LONG. I'm hoping to one day try their breakfast!

The sandwiches were delicious! However, their online ordering system needs improvement. Ordered sandwiches an hour ahead of time and arrived when they said they would be ready. There was no designated pickup area as the confirmation email states so we let the cashier know. They told us it was still not ready and to wait an additional 5 minutes. We waited probably another 15 minutes and that was after asking twice. I will be back but might try a different location.

Meh. I had somewhat high hopes for Alidoro, but it did not live up to my expectations, or the expectations that anyone had set for me. I thought the service that the staff provided was minimal--none of the staff were particularly helpful, and my wait time for my food was slow...even though I went after the lunch rush and there were only a couple people they had to help. I brought the food back to the office to eat, and it wasn't super great. It was honestly passable, but I don't think I'll be back at any point in time.

Location of the shop is in the Hugh!

Located in the Hugh! Oh yeah... this is how you envision a nyc sandwich. Build your own available or there are already so many options to choose from if you can't make up your mind. It's that good. Smoked chicken, hot peppers and sweet peppers, arugula with basil pesto and on a beautiful loaf -- served hot!! Soooo yummy!! Sakina, Galby, and Keisha offered me some help to build my own sandwich and I'm so glad I did. Service was 10/10 and they were very sweet and easy to talk to. There's nothing like a nice New Yorker serving you bomb food! Thanks again, ladies, you made my lunch worthwhile!

This really is a good spot for midtown to get an Italian sandwich,  I've gone with the "Matthew" and it never lets me down.  It all starts with fresh bread, then the prosciutto is better quality than anything in a deli. The mozzarella is top-notch, and the sauce makes all the difference. It's about $15 a sandwich but well worth it since all the ingredients are of the best quality. This isn't your average deli roll or "Italian bread". Highly recommend if you're craving a good sandwich you need Lex and 53rd Street.

I found myself in Midtown East and I wandered into the Hugh food court. It is located next to Lexington Avenue E/M train station. My second time visiting an Alidoro Sandwich shop. I ordered a Turkey sandwich on Semolina. I took a seat in the very impressive food court and gobbled my sandwich down. The sandwich was very tasty, and the bread was very fresh. My bill with a bottle of water was $19.33. The value more like $17.50. Thank U next!

First time trying Alidoro on Lexington Ave. boy! Was this sandwich delicious! I got the soprano on seasame bread, not too overly stuffed and the perfect layers of meat, cheese, toppings and spreads. Can't wait to try more!

This is not a good Alidoro sandwich. Doesn't even come close to comparing to other locations

The pasta was al dente perfection and most importantly there were generous sauce portions. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and personable. I dined with a friend and we ordered 3 pastas instead of an appetizer (fantastic choice). We tried the following dishes: *Garganelli Mushroom Ragu and Ricotta Salata. This was by far our favorite dish. It was bursting with flavor, had tons of sauce and cheese and was perfectly cooked. If you enjoy mushroom you MUST order this!! *Tagliatelle Bolognese Bianco (Chicken, Veal, Pork) and Parmigiano. Which was so delicious and has plenty of meat and sauce. The tagliatelle was amazing and tasted to fresh. *Bucatini with Pancetta, Tomato, Chilies and Pecorino. We thought this was good but our least favorite dish of the 3. Honorable mention to the spaghetti that my friend had at her last visit. She said it was fresh and delicious but almost too rich which she mostly owned to it being a white sauce.

We started with the housemade focaccia and Wagyu carpaccio--both were outstanding, with the perfect balance of crispy, flavorful, and fresh elements. My partner and I shared the pasta, hangar steak, and potatoes, which turned out to be the ideal amount for two. We finished with the famous olive oil cake, which we loved for its subtly sweet, moist and tender bite. Served with lightly whipped cream and raisins, the combination was surprisingly delicious. We were also touched by the complimentary anniversary scoop of ice cream. The interior seating is a bit snug, but the decor is beautiful--elegant yet homey. The service was good as well. Overall, we highly recommend L'Artusi for a special night out!

Water and excellent bread arrived immediately and the waiter was helpful describing dishes and giving advice. Salads were fresh and crisp. Caesar was nicely dressed and the mixed salad was a nice combination with well balanced herb vinaigrette. Seafood dishes had large amounts of fresh seafood and the veal picatta had the lemony flavor you expect without excessive acidity. Dessert was tasty and innovative. The ricotta based cheese cake wasn't as smooth as the cream cheese form but the citrus flavor was great. Throughout the meal water and bread were refilled, plates from completed courses removed and next delivered without being overly hovering. All in all a really great meal.

It works especially well for a mixed group since they have plenty of options including dishes without meat and everyone can find something. Even my picky niece and nephew were happy. My favorite entree is the Capellini Puttanesca, with capers, olives, basil, and anchovies. It's super tasty, satisfying, and the perfect portion. I also love that they offer wine by the glass and the service is consistently attentive. The waiters are always moving through the room, checking tables, refilling water, and making sure people have what they need. It's good, reliable, and near Broadway.
