Pricy sandwiches but sooooo delicious. I'll even forgive them for losing my husband's "Pinocchio" sandwich. They told us they lost it. LOL. So it took a while to get our lunch even though it was pretty empty. They obviously do a brisk takeout business for lunch. You can't rush perfection and they obviously make each sandwich with care and super high quality ingredients. I love that you can now customize your sandwich, which is what I did. The original Alidoro in Soho, you did not have this option back in the day. The 39th Street location is lovely inside but not a lot of seating. There was one whole table taken up by ALIDORO employees, leaving only one table for patrons. My husband had the Pinnocchio which was huge and delicious. I made a custom sandwich with salami, olive paste, sun-dried tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. It was damn delicious. I highly recommend and would come back again since I've been a long time fan of Alidoro. It's nice to see them in a lot of other locations now including the Food Hall at Moynihan/Penn Station and Rock Center. read more

Awesome Italian sandwich specialty shop near Bryant Park. What a find!!!! Fresh, made to order Italian sandwiches. Not a ton of vegetarian/vegan options but if you are a carnivore you are in luck. I don't eat meat so I got a hot vegetarian sandwich and it was delicious and fresh. When you order you can choose your bread. If you don't see a particular sandwich you like, you can build your own. They also have small batch olive oil for sale as well coffee beverages and breakfast sandwiches. The place was pretty busy when I got here, waited 20 minutes for my order, so if you are crunched for time maybe order ahead. There is bar-like seating where you can watch sandwiches being made as you eat. Really cool spot, can't wait to come back! read more

Mannnnn....this. Place. Is. Serious. THIS is the Italian deli dreams are made from. It really doesn't get better than this. I've been to two locations now and they are perfectly consistent. Decided to get lunch here one day as it's close to my office and it was delicious. They have a good selection of sandwiches as well as drinks. I had the Matthew sandwich. The baguette was fresh and crunchy. The checkout line is very organized, but there is quite a wait so in the future I'd probably order ahead. The restaurant itself is pretty but small. Their online system is faulty. I entered the date and time for delivery twice and it didn't capture. Long story short, i called the manager from the Bryant Park location 2 minutes after i received the confirmation online to update the delivery date, but she lied to me saying that the order was ready, 2 MINUTES after i placed the order, and refused to change it or issue a refund. Money is lost! read more

Luxurious place to eat. I was reluctant to try a sandwich from here because I'm not used to such a fancy sandwich but I'm glad I tried it and I definately will be returning! I got the alidoro with prosciutto! It was spicy and delicious And a big sandwich. Is it worth $18 bucks, no. But I used my mealpal app and got a steep discount. I will try again!! read more

This is a legit Italian sandwich-worth the price!! The sandwiches here are huge though and the quality of the meat is top notch so don't let the prices steer you away. We got the Gothamist- prosciutto, sun dried tomato paste, burrata, and lemon basil pesto. We split the sandwich cause it was so big. For $16.50 it was a GENEROUS amount of prosciutto and burrata. It reminded me of sandwiches we had Italy. I also ordered the Nutella cappuccino and it was reallllly gooood. They brew Illy coffee which is my favorite. My sister and brother in law often frequented ALIDORO when they were working in the office pre-covid so it was sad to not see the usual lunch rush from office workers. Come out and support them for a solid Italian sandwich! read more

It was a mission for me to come back to NYC to eat a sandwich at Alidoro. I ordered La Porchetta and the excitement grew waiting to hear my name to enjoy my sandwich. Surprisingly, the bread was very cold while its a cold sandwich usually the bread doesn't feel like it came out of cold storage. I took a bite and the bread was too dense, none of the sandwich ingredients were distinguishable all I was eating was bland, thick hard bread.. completely disappointed in the whole experience. Alidoro has a nice menu of Italian subs. I love the breads. I like the deli meats. Though, it was a bit pricey like most other reviewers say. I came right when it opened and ordered "The Pinocchio." While I liked the ingredients inside, it was way too salty for me. I ended up feeling thirsty the entire day and kept chugging water. It did taste delicious though! I just don't think it is for me. Maybe one day if I return, I'll try something else on the menu. PSA: Guys, do you know that nearly half of Americans have high blood pressure? Please watch your salt intake. read more

The service was friendly and the ambiance is nice. I appreciate the variety of vegetarian sandwiches. I ordered the Mona Lisa on focaccia and the sandwich felt overly bread and cheese heavy, with not much of the eggplant caponata or artichokes. Incredibly disappointed. I wanted to like this place. I was looking forward to it. It was a puny, pathetic sandwich and the bread was so hard I could barely bite it. Ended up taking the top off and eating it open faced. Only gave it two stars because the flavors were good and the food quality itself was good (minus the bread). I give it five stars because I love it here and think it is the absolute best but there have been some order mistakes with the bread, contents. I get the Valentina often and today there is no Mozzerella in it... strangely a mountain of sun dried tomatoes (not supposed to be on the sandwich). A vegetarian sandwich needs some mozz! read more

Good sandwich - got the Italian one with Mozarella cheese and a ton of salami. The portions are huge, the bread is done just right, and the food is made quickly. There's enough eating inside for 15 people or so. Prices are on the higher end $16/sandwich, but definitely an experience. read more

Been here twice. Ordered the Fratelli both times and both times got the wrong sandwich. Thought nothing of the first time but on the second time the sandwich was almost basically just two pieces of bread so I went back to get it right. Other than the wrong orders the actual sandwich was pretty decent. I liked the peppers and the spread they used, just a bit pricey. Wish they would get their processes right. Ends up wasting time for the person to have to go back and get it fixed read more

This place was on a shortlist for sandwich spots to try out within a short distance from the office. For me, that includes a 7-10 block radius (7-8 streets, 1-2 avenues). So even on a cold winter day, I couldn't resist trying the place out. I arrived with only a few people waiting for their sandwiches - probably due to omicron. First off, there are around 20 different choices for sandwiches. Second, most of the cold sandwiches can be made hot. But EVEN better, you can customize aspects of any sandwiches without an additional charge. Vegetarian me had initial trouble deciding whether to go with the Mona Lisa or Valentino. I chose the Mona Lisa because of the caponata of eggplant. However, the only reason I even leaned towards Valentino was because of the smoked mozzarella. After seeing someone ahead of me customize their sandwich, I did the exact same and substituted the smoked mozzarella instead of fresh mozzarella. I also requested it as a hot sandwich. Hardest choice was the bread, but the cashier sold me on focaccia. Damn what a great choice. Such a nice and soft bread that may have been huge, but was just so fun to eat. The smoked mozzarella, eggplant, and artichokes were very tasty. Even though the sandwich looks huge, it's really not that heavy. I highly recommend eating here and making this a lunch spot, even if it means walking a bit to get here! read more

I found myself near the New York Public Library today and I was in need of a sandwich. I stopped into Alidoro to grab a bite. The line was long and it appeared that everybody waiting was an employee of WeWork, Salesforce or Cloudfare. I ordered a Pinocchio sandwich and I waited. My sandwich, while tasty, contained an Olive paste that was overly salty. I was reaching for the water bottle for several hours after I was done eating. My bill with a bottle of water was $19.37. My review might be a little skewed since it was a corporate lunch so it was free but my sandwich was great! I've passed by this spot many times going to get a salad and the line was always long and we finally ended up getting it. I got the Antoinette hot on wheat bread 10/10. The weather is getting a bit colder so I'd stick with hot but I'm sure the cold would be better in the summer. Excuse my unflattering photo. read more

I got tomato, mozzarella, onion, and pesto on focaccia. First bite was good but the onions tastes terrible. I could tell the onions were pre sliced and sitting for a while it ruined the whole sandwich. And it was over 20 dollars which I think is a classic Manhattan rip off. Even without the onions I think you could get a better sandwich elsewhere. I don't eat meat so I'm not sure if their meat sandwiches are good. Overall not bad but those onions traumatized me. read more

Delectable. Fresh. Bursting with filling and flavour. Ordered The Gothamist on focaccia after weeks of seeing them kill it on the IG game. Was not disappointed. Sandwich was bigger than my face, I tried to include a large egg for scale but frankly, this was lunch one and oh, it's 3:30pm I guess I'll eat second lunch now... I added sweet red peppers and that's always a winning combo with burrata in my book. focaccia was tender chew, clearly fresh. To be honest there was so much filling, I had to save some prosciutto for a later snack with rice (whole other story) Gothamist Sandwich on focaccia with sweet red peppers - def prefer it with the bread toasted, in any season. Would come back for the rest of the menu. Hope they consider selling cold cuts by the pound too. read more

All of the flavors were good, I just think it didn't come together in a way that my taste buds enjoyed lol. But I can't say it was nasty, just not my vibe. Overall was a great visit, and a great location for a cute lunch in the city, especially if you're near the highline! Oh! Because while I was in a long line, when I get to the front, there's another line to the left of the truck... and people seem to be getting their food faster, and the line is like 2x shorter. So that's kind of confusing. Ambience in line and ordering = chaotic. The line is quick in terms of when it is your turn, KNOW what you want. Because you have like 5 seconds to order and that's it. I ordered the special (the spicy rice, lamb and chicken combo, extra white sauce, 3 squirts of hot sauce, and a topped with fries). $13 in total. I would like to say, advice to folks to know what you want before you come. I did not look at menu options beforehand and I did fairly little research so I honestly did not know what to order, just looked at some google reviews and pictures. That is going to help you, in case you do not want the typical lamb and chicken combo. To the food - 1st - they don't care how much hot sauce you want. they're making these bowls in the masses and are just giving you a single squirt so they can make 20 bowls all at the same time. But the rice was your average rice. Pita was deliciously soft and pillowy which complemented the white sauce. Chicken was ok. had an OK texture; nothing life changing. lamb was fantastic, and fries were just fries (nothing memorable). For a NYC experience, a 1-time, 50 minute wait is acceptable. And, for $13, that's pretty cheap for the amount of food you get. I would eat it again if the line was 5 minutes. Otherwise, I'm positive you will find similar food/better food elsewhere.

Given the fact that there were 20 others ahead of me, that was not bad at all. By the time you get your food, if you wanted to eat there, you could easily find a spot to slide to, to stand and eat. Pepperoni pizza was delicious. Sauce is on the tangier/more acidic side, more tomatoey. and the pepperoni was great. Slight spice to it, but not as good as L'industries. Nonetheless, this slice was delicious. Hot, melty gooey cheese and lots of pepperoni overload. Crust is divine. I could just eat that by itself. Definitely a great bite whether on the go, drunk, or just because.

When I asked if they had a smaller box, they simply stacked the slices on a flimsy paper plate and placed them in a brown paper bag. I even asked if I could have one of the sturdier sandwich trays to better protect the pizza and keep the grease from soaking through while carrying it in my bag, but I was told those were "only for sandwiches." We also had leftover chicken parmesan and asked for an extra plate, but they refused, saying we already had one. The whole experience came across as unnecessarily stingy and lacked basic customer service. For a popular pizza shop where many customers take food to go, I'd expect better packaging for leftovers. A simple, sturdy to-go box would make a big difference and prevent greasy slices from getting crushed or leaking through the bag. Unfortunately, I wouldn't go back. The pizza was decent, but it wasn't worth dealing with the poor customer service. There are better pizza spots in the city, like L'Industrie Pizzeria, where I've had a much better overall experience.

Our wait was at least an hour and a half and were texted when our table was ready. They have indoor and outdoor seating with one bathroom for all to use. We got the viral pancakes and they were everything you'd dream they be and then some for sure very filling and buttery. I got a "pick me up" and it was perfect gave me a beautiful caffeine kick to start the day I recommend for sure. Weather you come for the viral moment this feels like a solid staple in the community with bright music playing everyone kind of everywhere and just a relaxed feel that you can't wait to enjoy after you get seated. The best item we ordered was the breakfast sandwich with hashbrown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. I think the eggs are cooked with cheese, and as someone who typically does not eat cheese, I didn't mind it. I don't know if I'll be back again - I think the concept of an asian twist on the classic diner does sound intriguing but difficult to execute. I also wasn't a big fan of the wait time. If you typically like heavier, diner food then this spot might be the place for you!

They don't take online reservations for groups over 5, so we called to make one for our group of 6. It was pretty busy Friday night, so would recommend. The service was great; they drew the cutest card when they found out it was my brother's birthday and let us bring a cake. And they also offered hair ties to the people with long hair. You order through an iPad which has a beautiful menu.

It's one of the larger stalls in the market and has some seating, but not enough, and the market seating is very limited as well. I ordered the hibiscus lemonade and the very spicy Dan Dan Mian. I loved watching the staff prepare the noodles while waiting. My bowl was huge and absolutely delicious. It was very spicy as promised, but not too spicy that it was rendered not enjoyable. I looked at other orders and everything looked delicious, leading to only semi-regret of my choice. My lemonade was very good. I'm very much looking forward to returning.
