We went last week of February. The restaurant itself is decorated so nicely, even at early dinner, the place was packed. Our French server was excellent, he explained and suggested some wines with our selections. We shared focaccia, a Spintaka (amazing with cheese dip) hummus, eggplant, Wyagu beef skewers and tomato salad. Delicious! We shared the goat cheese cheesecake, unbelievably tasty! Enjoyed several different wines which paired wonderfully with the food! Great evening! It was extremely loud, I had to raise my voice loudly so the hubby could hear me, if they had music playing, I couldn't hear it. We had a great meal, thanks! read more

We were very excited to try this restaurant and had high expectations, however what we experienced was very disappointing and not at the level I would expect this type of restaurant to be at. It was a busy night and we had a reservation at 8:15pm. We arrived on time and told it would be a 10 minute wait. After asking about our table several times after that we were finally seated 1 hour after our reservation. This is appalling. We asked for complimentary drinks which one waiter agreed to but when it came down to it we only received one dessert that was complimentary (value of $10). Several other things happened with the service that were disappointing. We were asked to prove we had paid for a bottle of wine at the bar when the bill came, our second bottle of wine never arrived, and other things we asked for either didn't arrive or came out very late. I understand it was a busy night but being sat 1 hour after our reservation is not good enough. We were made to feel like we were in the wrong. A real shame as the interior is beautiful, great wine list, and the food was good but slightly overpriced for what you get. read more

I went to this restaurant as a group of 4 friends. The setting and atmosphere in this restaurant was lovely but to be honest, we had a pretty appalling experience overall. Firstly we booked our table for 8:15pm. When we arrived there was a queue out the door of people (also with bookings) waiting to be seated. We were told our table would be 5-10 mins and we could stand outside (on the sidewalk) while we waited. 10 mins passed and we went back inside to check on the table. We were told the table still wasn't ready so we stood outside for a further 30 mins with no staff checking on us. We went back in again and were told it would be a bit longer to wait. There was no offer of any complimentary drinks or similar at this stage which we thought would be a standard level of service given the amount of time we had to wait. We requested these and were told a note would be put on our booking and complimentary drinks would be added to our bill at the end. We waited another 5ish mins and eventually some room came available at the bar so we stood there while we waited for our table and ordered drinks, which included a bottle of wine. We ended up paying for these drinks at the bar despite being promised complimentary drinks, as the bar seemed to operate separately from the restaurant. At this stage, we were told we would get a free dessert (worth $10) to make up for the 1 hour wait. This was communicated by someone else to the person who promised the complimentary drinks, and it started to become evident that we would likely not receive the complimentary drinks. At approximately 9:15pm we were brought to our table. We ordered our food, which was pretty good - not outstanding but not mediocre either. Before the end of our mains, we ordered another bottle of wine. This wine never came. After the mains, the waiter noted we were entitled to a free dessert and we (somewhat cheekily) noted we had been waiting an hour for a table and with 4 people, two desserts would be more appropriate. He agreed and we were served 2 desserts. The desserts arrived with 2 spoons and we promptly requested an additional 2 spoons. The additional 2 spoons didn't arrive until after the desserts were finished with the waiter blaming it on a colleague. We requested the bill (3 times). When it eventually arrived, the bottle of wine we ordered but never received was on the bill. We requested it be removed and then the girl WHO TOOK THE ORDER FOR THE WINE came to our table questioning whether the bottle that we paid for at the bar was the same bottle we ordered at the table. We noted that the bottle we ordered at the table never arrived and that the bottle we had drank we paid for at the bar. She literally waited for us to provide proof that we had paid for it at the bar. With the level of shit customer service we had received at this restaurant, this was the last straw and we then proceeded to provide feedback that everything seemed extremely disorganized and sub-standard which they blamed on the fact they were busier than usual and were a relatively new restaurant. There were multiple other small things that occurred throughout the night that would sound extremely petty written down in a review but those, in addition to the issues we experienced as described above, really made for an overall shitty experience. I generally don't write reviews like this and have sympathy for staff when restaurants are super busy but the experience of the staff in handling these situations and the level of customer service here, for the prices, was unacceptable. I think the restaurant has a lot of potential but they need to work on improving their booking system, staff training and customer service to be on par with the restaurants of a similar calibre around L.A. read more

I've been excited to try this place since it opened a couple months ago, today I came and I can't wait to come back! From the beginning we were warmly welcomed by our server Fred who shared with us great suggestions on both wine and food and truly made our night amazing, taking care of us and being very kind. My friend and I shared a Greek salad, the carabineros, chicken skewer and a few dips which we ended up loving. Everything was super tasteful and fresh. Service was on point, overall the restaurant's vibes are cozy and cute but with a lively ambient. We had a very disappointing experience at Alisa. Despite having a reservation, we waited 25 minutes to be seated. Once we finally sat down, the service was chaotic and rushed. Over the course of our meal, five different servers attempted to take away plates of food that were clearly unfinished. At one point, someone even tried to clear our Greek salad while my friend's fork was still in the bowl. Our actual server was dismissive and never once checked in to ask if we were enjoying the meal. When we voiced our concerns to a manager about feeling rushed and asked if they could at least comp a glass of wine, we were first told no and offered dessert instead. Eventually, they did comp one drink, but the server came back to the table, dropped off the check, and said, "Well, your drink got comped" which felt unnecessary. For a meal that was just a few dips, a salad, and two skewers, the bill was surprisingly high given the portion sizes and the overall poor service. Really unfortunate, as we were hoping to add this new neighborhood spot to our rotation, but after this experience, we won't be back. read more

I love Mediterranean food and was really excited to welcome Alisa to the neighborhood! I was incredibly disappointed to be met with poor customer service before even being able to visit. I had a reservation that I unfortunately had to cancel the day-of due to factors beyond my control (Travel delays). I called to inform the restaurant at Noon and left a voicemail explaining my situation and requesting the cancellation fee be waived out of goodwill, given that the delays were beyond my control. The reservation was canceled and the fee was charged. I called the next morning to speak with someone about the charge and left a voicemail. I received a call back at 4pm and explained the scenario again asking for the fee to be refunded based on the circumstances. All the hostess had to say was "sorry that's just our policy, sorry" (with a "not my problem" kind of tone, I might add). I requested to speak to a manager and was told they were all busy (at 4pm when you aren't even open yet? I find that hard to believe). I was told a manager would call me back and have yet to be contacted. I work in the luxury hospitality industry and am amazed by the lack of customer service I received - especially for a restaurant that is newly opened in a competitive area. I understand that there are policies, but it's not so much about the money as it is about the customer service. Disappointed and will find it difficult to want to give the restaurant a proper try. read more

We ate at Alisa last night and felt the ambiance was great but the food was lacking. We had a reservation so there was no wait, our table was outside in the back courtyard which we loved. Such a unique outdoor area, but was clearly loved by everyone else taking photos throughout the night. Our service was great, I didn't catch our waitress's name but she was very attentive and gave us great suggestions. I will say she was limited in space (the tables were close together) so pouring wine for us was a little bit of a struggle and we got some drips on our plates but other than that no complaints on the service. As for the food, we got the spicy feta dip with flatbread, the Greek salad, the octopus, the roasted potatoes and the wagyu sirloin skewers. The spicy feta dip was good but outrageously priced with nothing to dip it with. I also would love to have a dip sampler option with hummus, spicy feta and eggplant dip in small portions combined. The Greek salad was not great. The tomatoes looked to be the same roasted tomatoes they use for the roasted tomato salad, which just made for a very saucy, not very fresh tasting Greek salad. More onions and more cucumber were needed to make up for the mushy tomatoes. The wagyu skewers were by far the best thing we had on the menu. The octopus itself was prepared well and I liked the sauce they had drizzled with it but the carrot puree was a miss. It didn't match with the flavors of the octopus, I would skip this one. And the potatoes! So bland, we had Kismet last week and were hoping for something similar as they were roasted in beef fat, but the potatoes themselves were flavorless. Overall, if you're looking for a restaurant with a fun ambience and good drinks I would give it a try. I think with some time their food will get there too. Excellent food and atmosphere and very accommodating given we were nearly 30 mins late for our original reservation. The lamb, steak skewers and lamb chops were excellent. Some of the best ever! The garden area seating was recently opened and is beautiful and much more quiet than the indoor seating and has numerous heaters to insure everyone is comfortable. read more

only been open for 2 days and I'm so happy we found this place. We love Greek food and are picky for authentic restaurants. It didn't disappoint. We had the Greek salad, spanakopita, eggplant dip, flatbread, monk fish orzo, and chicken skewers. Everything was full of flavor and really tasty. I personally am not a fan of monk fish in general, so my husband mostly had that, but I still tried it and it was perfectly cooked and sooo flavorful. They have delicious shareables and starters that are tapas style. The mains include a vegetarian dish, the monk fish orzo, and then two pricier and larger meals (lamb chops and steak for two) so I will say I think you either stick to a bunch of shareables OR the heavy mains. Would like to see more mains added just to try more of their food, but even if not we still loved it. Bringing my in laws next weekend. The staff was great, we met the owner as well and he was lovely. Will be back! read more

Decided to drive an hour to celebrate my mom's birthday after hearing lots of good reviews about it. Initially the hostess was great she asked us where we would like to sit and showed us around. Now after we were seated on the upper level, there were a lot of parties celebrating different occasions and there were bug groups. And you would think for a large number of people there would be multiple servers right? There wasn't, it took us 15 minutes to place our order. we received the starters which were just the dips and salads which were uncooked within 15 minutes, however when it came to the main courses we waited for over 45 minutes after receiving the starters. Meaning we waited an hour to eat the main courses! It got to the point that my mom wanted to leave. Anyways when we finally got the food it was cold and it looked like it had been sitting for a very long time on the counter. I personally don't care about the prices if the food is good, however the food wasn't good at all. None of us enjoyed any of the main courses especially the cod it was extremely fishy and rubbery. Overall don't recommend this place especially if you want to drive an hour. read more

When asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, we were brought small, trendy-looking open jugs that didn't resemble traditional bottled water--only to later find out we were charged $10 per bottle. When we politely asked if this could be removed from the bill, as the waiter never mentioned it was bottled water, the manager was shockingly confrontational and unprofessional. For the price, the service should have been much better--especially for a new restaurant that should be aiming for returning customers. WAY overrated. My food was sent back twice for being cold. After the second time and with all my guests done with their main course I just ate it so I could get out of the restaurant. The waiter was on another planet and forgot my drink order twice. I eventually told him to cancel it. If you are more into posting as opposed to enjoying good food this place is for you, otherwise there are 100s of better Greek restaurants in the area, don't waste your money. read more
