Lovely ambience, friendly service, and delicious food. The carnitas appetizer was good and a very generous portion. I wish the carnitas and chicharron were a bit crispier. We liked the Tacos de Alisios better than the pastor but both were good. Corn 3 Ways 16.75 Sweet corn tuile, buttery corn, popcorn cream, queso panela, chili oil, lime zest. Carnitas & Chicharrón Huarache 18.75 Heritage chicharron, confit carnitas, tomatillo serrano salsa, over a house-made huarache. House Al Pastor 15.25 Achiote marinated pork, avocado purée, pickled onion, red salsa. Tacos de Alisios 22.50 Crispy cheese crust, Wagyu beef, chili aioli, red salsa.

Artfully plated food that tastes as good as it looks. Vibey. Friendly staff. Comfortable patio seating even in 80 degree weather. Free, easy underground parking. Dayam, no wonder SO many people decided to make Alisios their first review ever! (Peep the filtered reviews too.) TBH, I initially wrote off Alisios because the flood of initial sus reviews (opened mid-June 2026) but I later read that it's from the team behind Burma Superstar, an SF institution that has built a mini empire in the Bay Area. A bit odd to venture off to Mexican cuisine but... We were headed back to the city and they have dog-friendly seating so made a pit stop to Springline. Rezzies on the weekends recommended. M E N U Modern Mexican Cuisine. Full bar. 5% surcharge added to all checks. F O O D * Puffed Tuna: Puffed Smoked Tuna Tostadas w/ salsa verde, pickled onion, avocado crema (2 pc-$14.75): https://tinyurl.com/4ccs2n79 More like an amuse bouche, it's basically a mini tuna tostada on a tortilla chip. Based on the name, I was hoping the vessel would be more like a light, airy chicharrón. It was fine but overpriced for what it was and IMO, a bit one note (tuna didn't taste smoked). * Hamachi & Shrimp Aguachile w/ serrano citrus, smoked chili aguachile, squid ink emulsion, avo, cucumber, pomegranate ($23.75): https://tinyurl.com/5h866nbr Beautiful plating and a great refreshing app to open up the palate with a mildly flavored aguachile (chili water). Where's the shrimp tho?! * Tacos de Alisios: Crispy cheese crust, Wagyu beef, chili aioli, red salsa (2 pc-$22.50): https://tinyurl.com/3ysycwwk These street sized tacos were as eye-catching as they delicious. I mean, it's hard to go wrong with tender wagyu, melty cheese (not crispy), and a soft, chewy heirloom corn tortilla. But, the pickled onions could have used more acidity to brighten the flavors, and the salsa roja fell a bit flat. Also, compared to pics from when they first opened, the portion of steak looks about half the size now. * Beef & Desert: Arrachera w/ roasted cactus salsa, mezcal veal reduction, pickled onion petals, corn purée ($41.75): https://tinyurl.com/3c9wbhhc - Includes arroz y frijoles - Requested rare Perfectly rare and tender, the steak was flavorful with the drizzle of rich veal reduction. Paired with the sweet corn purée, the dish could have used a brighter, more acidic salsa and tangier pickled onions to create a more balanced dish. Served with savory spanish rice and creamy heirloom beans topped with queso fresco, this was easily the best value item on the menu. GET THIS! S E R V I C E Friendly and attentive service. Food took awhile to arrive. A M B I A N C E The dining room is trendy and inviting with warm colors + tiles and an awesome quinceañera mural - perfect for all the "come with meeee" reels and TTs. It's clear a lot of thought went into the vibey atmosphere. A bonus is the front patio stays nicely shaded by the building - perfect for enjoying a meal on a warm day. Overall, while the flavors were a bit muted (to me), the quality, execution, and plating were on-point for an elevated, trendy Mexican resto. However, while I'm down to pay for good food, I can't get over the poor value. Yea, it's MP in a prime location but two amuse bouche/canapé sized apps, two tacos, one entree, a soda, and a cocktail for $180 after tip is very expensive. But then, to have to go to In N Out afterwards is wild. I would NOT hesitate to return to Alisios...if it's on someone else's dime tho!

I came here with friends on a weekday, I could not believe how crowded it was! This place is super popular, and it's easy to see why. The food is absolutely fantastic, unique sort of fusion, Mexican food, fresh and delicious! We loved everything we ordered. I highly recommend this place. The only thing I didn't love was parking can be challenging, but I guess that's to be expected in this area.

Vibe: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Food: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Elevated & creative Mexican cuisine with warm hospitality. Can you have a crush on a restaurant? Because we fell in love with every single aspect of Alisios. The restaurant is stunning. You feel like you have been transported to Mexico. Our server, Lolo, was incredible. He had the best energy, was very attentive, and gave great recommendations. We never missed a beat and always showed up with things before we could even ask for them. He made us feel comfortable and genuinely seemed to care about making our experience great. Thank you! Their drinks were tasty, but not extraordinary. The food, however, was outstanding. I was extremely impressed by the presentation, the quality of ingredients, preparation, and superb flavor. We enjoyed: -HH Oysters (4/5): Fresh, plump, and perfectly shucked, their HH oysters were paired with a mignonette and hibiscus pearls. Very refreshing, especially on a hot day. -Smoked Oyster (4/5): These warm, rich, and umami-bursting beauties were quite the contrast to the HH oyster. The edible shell is not only genius, but the texture and flavor complemented the mollusk. Beware, these are very filling, so best to share. -Corn 3 Ways (4/5): The corn itself was just ok. But what made this dish stand out was the sweet corn tuile and the handmade tortillas. I usually don't care much for corn tortillas. But their blue/purple corn tortillas have made me a believer. The overall dish could benefit from some sauce, as eating the corn by itself, or even with the tortillas, got old quickly. -Octopus & Jungle (5/5): This is the dish that I was still obsessing over for days. First off, you get 2(!) large, perfectly cooked tentacles that taste very fresh. The accompanying smoky & spicy tamarind glaze paired well and tasted like nothing I ever had before. It was so good, I asked for a small to-go container. But what took this dish over the top were the charred seasonal veggies. No boring broccoli here. I'm talking pattypan squash, oxheart carrots, asparagus, and veggies I couldn't even identify. All the veggies retained their crunch and nutrition. It was beautiful. I know my vegetarian friends would LOVE these. -Beef & desert (5/5): My husband was swooning over his dish, savoring every bite with a smile on his face. -Churro & Plantain (5/5): We almost skipped the dessert, but I am so glad we didn't. Their churros were fresh, warm, and crunchy. But that plantain filling was everything. Just give me a whole bowl of that with some churros to dip in, and I will be a happy camper. I was originally planning to get their guac, but they were out of the grasshoppers. But that gives me an excuse to come back....not that I really needed one.

Alisios is a 1000/10! Such a great addition to downtown Menlo Park. The staff is incredibly welcoming and the ambiance is warm & inviting. I've been here multiple times since they opened & every visit has been consistently amazing. The food is absolutely delicious & I've left completely satisfied every time. Jackie is my fav! She's so attentive, kind, & genuinely makes the experience even better. I would def recommend checking this spot out.

    Hamachi aguachile

OMG!!! Wonderful new addition to Menlo Park! I've been waiting for them to open for a while now and they didn't disappoint! The smoked oysters were to die for ...the Aguachile had sooo much flavor..and they're duck was cooked to a wonderful temperature! Definitely worth the trip .

    Are very tasty tacos!!!

I ordered a burrito with carne asada along with one taco. Right away, I was impressed with the presentation. Everything was neatly packed, and the portions were generous, which is always a plus for catered meals. Overall, the taste wasn't bad, but it didn't completely wow me. The carne asada was decent and filling, though I feel the burrito would've tasted much better with sour cream. Unfortunately, that came with an extra fee, so I skipped it. In hindsight, I probably would've enjoyed the meal more if I ordered a bowl instead, since the flavors might have stood out more without being wrapped in a tortilla. While it wasn't my favorite Mexican-style catering I've had, it was still a solid option for a work meal. I appreciated the portion size and presentation, and with a few tweaks to my order next time, I think the experience could be better.

Sweet :) Wanted something relatively fast and somewhat healthy and hearty, so we decided to go in. I ordered three shrimp tacos which I believe came with corn tortillas, grilled shrimp, green bell peppers, white onions, and some kind of salsa (green salsa & pico de callo). Delicious! There was a pretty good amount of shrimp in each taco, which I was super stoked on. Total for the three shrimp tacos came out to $19.74 (3x shrimp tacos = $5.99). Everything came out perfect and consistent. There is seating outside and plenty of seating inside. When you first walk in, you will notice the bar to the left side of the restaurant. It was clean, bright, and welcoming. The woman at the counter was straight-forward, nothing too crazy to note on. They have a $10 minimum when paying with a credit card, so just be prepared for that :) The best part is... they have self-serve tortilla chips AND self-serve salsa bar! Their salsas were the right amount of spicy (just the way I like it)... Their bathroom is also very clean, which is always a plus. My original dish of choice was the Red Snapper Al Mojo de Ajo. But many years ago I made the switch to Enchiladas de Mariscos. I have tried the Mole Poblano and fajitas. I have been known to get a burrito for lunch. There are other things on the menu I'm sure I'd be happy with. But, when it's Cafe del Sol night, I crave the adobo marinated seafood and chipotle tequila cream sauce of the seafood enchiladas. They are served with yummy cilantro rice, diced mango, salsa fresca, and a small salad. The rotating dishes of my party include Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, the Red Snapper, Fish Tacos, and El Combo. We always get Quesadilla de Camaron as a starter. The quesadilla comes with a side of guacamole, sour cream, salsa fresca, and diced mango for your dipping pleasure. A side order of chips comes with an addictive salsa verde. The restaurant is not without its challenges. It is a small space and often only has one server. The two servers, Tammy and Sonia, have been there forever and are very loyal to their customers. If you are looking for a place with constant stimulation, the latest and greatest in restaurant decor, this isn't the place for you. I come back over and over for the flavors I can't resist.
