Wow! I've been going here for the last few years, almost once a week if at the least twice a month. Even filled up their stamp card many times over. The one thing that always frustrated me was their customer service and now the last straw has been drawn. If it isn't the smaller guy being so cheap you can see him counting each square of fish going in, then it's the the taller short haired lady who seems like she's annoyed you had the audacity to order food. The food usually tends to be good, except for when it isn't...and when it isn't, IT ISN'T. Believe me you, no one wants fish that's been sitting there for hours and tastes of everything under the roof. With the rise of more Poke places going up, I've torn up my last stamp card and called it quits for good. The food isn't worth it anymore. I'm tired of seeing them get rude with kind customers. Hands down best poke I have ever had. Don't take this lightly- I eat poke AT LEAST once a week. At least. The portions are huge. I always get a large and am always left unsatisfied- not here. I asked for half the usual amount of rice, and I could barely finish my bowl despite not having eaten anything else all day. The fish was so fresh- melted like butter in my mouth. Places are usually good with their tuna and salmon, but even the scallops here were incredible. Combine fresh fish with all the amazing topping options and you have a winning bowl. Here's how it goes: 1. Rice or greens 2. two sides (crab salad, seaweed salad, or edamame) 3. the proteins (I think they had 5 kinds- tuna, salmon, albacore, octopus, and scallops- possibly more) 4. Toppings (cucumber, pineapple, avocado, onions, shallots, masago, cilantro, just to name a few) 5. Sauce is mixed in with the proteins and toppings (again, lots of options) and it's piled in to your bowl 6. Dry toppings to garnish (sesame seeds, crispy onion, and my personal favorite crispy garlic). Above it all, each member of the staff was smiling even though it was rush hour. Whenever I asked for something (less rice, extra sauce) they were happy to do it for me. Customer service was great. The seating was also plentiful and I posted up by the window to do some people watching. Street parking seems to be the only option but it wasn't too bad- found a spot just a few steps away. I am a teen girl and my dad was trying to help me be more independent by having me order for myself and the order my mom texted me from my phone for her. When I was telling her what to do with the bowls she was saying things like, "Huh?" "What?", and I was talking at a level where even the people in the back would be able to hear. My fiancé and I love poke, Burbank is our neighborhood, so we were quite excited to see "All About Poke" open up opposite of Porto's on Magnolia. It was a Friday night, and after some debate, we finally decided to try it out. It turns out, this was like someone thinking that going over Niagara Falls in a barrel was a good idea. Niagara Falls. So, we arrived at "All About Poke" and took note that it's a Subway-restaurant buffet style setup, only instead of cold cuts, it's raw fish. "Surely, they take precautions," I said to my fiancé. "We eat poke all the time without any issue." This is like someone building their house on a flood plain, aware of the risks, but what the heck. What's the worst that can happen? Flood plain. Now, I'll tell you this. I ordered a poke bowl different from my fiancé, and it was delicious. I respect her individuality, especially concerning the weird-looking spicy tuna (not saying it was the culprit), but I am so glad that I went with my instinct and ordered on my own that night. Because what proceeded was some Old Testament Wrath of God shit, y'all. The very next morning, her stomach was in a vice, and it was nothing but water coming out of her ass for a week. Take a sip of orange juice: water out the ass. A bite of melba toast: water out the ass. After day 3, our toilet served us with cease and desist orders. I understand one has to be careful with reviews like this, because it could be potentially damaging. But let's do the math. Would it be more likely to have gotten food poisoning from oatmeal for breakfast, a homemade turkey sandwich, or the open-buffet style restaurant where the raw fish sits out for hours at a time? Well, there you go. You do whatever you want. Note that I ate there and I was fine, so you can take this with a grain of salt. But if things get dia-real, I warned you. I consider myself an LA poke aficionado and love trying new poke shops when they open up. I've been waiting for one to open close to work (I knew one would pop up eventually at the rate they're going) and this was close enough. While it was very good, it wasn't the best I've had in LA. At first impression, it was very clean and the staff was super friendly. They offer a nice variety of seafood options (tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, albacore, octopus, shrimp, scallops) and toppings as well. What stood out here was the sauces though! I loved the sauces. I went with a gangnam/yuzu ponzu/sesame oil mix and it was awesome! Not like other places when they say "the spicy shoyu or wasabi mayo is really spicy" and I feel zero spice, this gangnam sauce had a nice little kick to it! Everything was pretty great aside from a few minor changes I would prefer: 1) The chips were soooo salty (I did half chips/half white rice base). 2) The chunks of tuna and albacore were really big. I prefer them a little smaller, but that's just my personal opinion. 3) The avocado (shout out to free avocado with check in lol) was kind of hard and not very ripe. Other than those minor personal preferences, it was awesome and I was stuffed for the next 6 hours (which is pretty rare for me haha) off a large bowl (4 scoops of seafood). Great value for $13!
