Not really sure why there are so many bad reviews, but I had an amazing experience with the folks from All American Appliance. I have a weird issues with my stacked washer/dryer unit, where washer stops midcycle. The first visit the technician tried a bunch of things, we settled on one fix and he left me a 30 day labor warranty. Since then, he's been out here twice...once by himself, once with two others. During that visit they spent 30 minutes on the phone with GE trying to get to the root of the problem, and all covered under this labor warranty. Definition of above and beyond. I really appreciated the effort. We think we nailed down the problem now, but I know I can reach out again if the issue persists. read more

Called made appiontment for service was told Tom would be there between 10:30am-2:30pm. It was 3:30pm when I called the office to get an update. I had the pleassure to speak to Natalie, she said like me call Tom and I will call you back. I rcieved a call back at 4pm she thought he might with be a client. She said you can either wait or reschedule. lol Why would I wantto reschedule? Someone from All America Appliance's should have called. me after 2:30pm and explain I would have understood. What I dont understand is how you allow someone to wait 5hrs and call back with no remorse just nasty and couldnt care at all. We had an oven that needed repair and the service was good, but there were billing issues. We were told the initial assessment of $125 would be applied to the repair. Instead we were charged $159 for the assessment because the technician fixed a wire. Then, another $585 for the repair. Also, the receptionist in the Florida office was argumentative and unhelpful when I called. She stated it was not her problem. I asked the technician and the person who scheduled the repair if the $159 would be applied to the cost of the final service and was told yes. This was not the case. I have never been so frustrated before with a simple service call. On 02/02/2017 I called and made an appointment I was given a service time between 1 and 5. I came back from work at 12:30 to make sure I was there for the appointment. Around 3 oclock I called to confirm that someone was coming. I was told the person would call me before he came. Around 4:15 no one had come so I called again. I was told that someone from the office would call me back to give me an ETA. No one called. I called again at 5 and the office was closed. I was home for the rest of the night and was angry that no one came and that I had wasted my entire day. On 02/03/2017 I called again and spoke to Meleanie on the phone. I explained what happend and she said her driver had come and no one was home. That was a lie so I asked if she could reschedule me again for the same day. She just said no. I then asked her what time the driver came. She said she "I don't know". I asked her why no one from her office called me. She said "I don't know". I asked her why her driver never called me. She said "I don't know". I then asked her whom from her office I spoke to and she got very upset and started yelling at me. Saying that she could rescheule me etc. I said I wanted the names of the manager and she said she was the manager and the owners live out of town. I told her it was crazy that she had no info for me, and that she was going to rescheule me for the next day. She then said she was going to send someone today (very rudely). I asked her for an email confirmation ... she said she cant give me one. I then said I was going to leave a bad review and she said then she wasn't going to help me and send someone. I also ran back the camera system of my house and no one came ... she was lieing. I was home all day and I have a dog who barks at every car. I even left the front door open .. no one came. Twice they've been to my house under my warranty plan. My brand new washer is STILL broken. They seem to think that it's OK that it makes this HORRIBLE noise when it's in the spin cycle. They refused to open it up because it ran silently when it was empty. Which is great if running it empty was my goal. The second guy was incredibly rude and would not let us put a load in to show him what we meant because "he knew what we meant" and "he only runs it empty". NOT. HELPFUL. I didn't pay nearly $1,000 for a machine that is going to rumble and scream whenever I use it. He even had the audacity to tell us that we need to put some unnamed SPECIFIC amount of clothes in there for it to work silently. So I guess the 4 months it ran silently despite the variation in loads must have been a fluke. Awful customer service. Awful attitude. Never again. UPDATE: A REAL GE repairman came out and opened the machine as soon as he walked in. Within 5 seconds he was able to see the concrete block that is supposed to be attached at the top of the machine had BROKEN OFF and was sitting at the bottom of the machine. These idiots would have known that if they had opened the machine like we ASKED them to! 13 parts were required for a total of over $3,000. The GE guy told me if the FIRST guy had just opened the machine he probably would have noticed the block was loose and fixed it before it completely broke off. Incompetent to the Nth degree. Rude office staff, they do not call right back like it says they will. They took my mom for almost $500 to repair a less than 2 year old microwave. The guy (I was told he is the manager) seems very nice but almost in a creepy way. Would stop by to install a new part without calling before. All American stopped selling appliances a few years ago, so they could concentrate on repair. Scary! If you need appliance repair, find someone else! They came to repair my built-in microwave. They forgot to put in the order for the part, then ordered the wrong part. Long story short: It took 3 weeks and $460 to repair my microwave.... and in disassembling my unit they had broken the oven. I sent a detailed letter to the company explaining my dissatisfaction in detail. NO RESPONSE. Now there's some stellar customer service, but frankly it wasn't surprising. Two months of aggravation. Service technician/ owner comes out says we need single part for freezer door. He promises to order it and be back in a week. Three weeks later we call back and the desk says they need to check with service tech about what part is needed for ordering. One week after that we call back and the tech is now in Hawaii the part never ordered. They promise to send over another manager for service call to re diagnose the part we need. Waited all morning to talk to the desk again and find out the tech can't come by until late this evening missing our appointment and costing yet another day from work. read more

My dryer just broke two days before Christmas. The website GUARANTEES that someone will be out within 3 hours of your request for service. I called the number, and a cranky woman answers the phone, "Hello?" as if I'm calling her house. How about, "Good afternoon, All American Appliance Repair". I should have hung up then, it spoke volume about customer service. That's your industry, lady. When I questioned her if this was a business she barked YEAH. I have used All American Appliance often. I appreciate that they service you quickly, but there are little annoyances along the way. I asked them to call my tenant to schedule an appointment, of which they said they would when we hung up the phone, but totally forgot, and never did. I always ask for a written bill to be sent to my house, and they put in their notes to do so, but it usually takes two more phone calls to make that happen. Be prepared to have many contacts with them until the job is complete. read more

Called on Saturday morning experiencing problems with my 2 year old LG fridge. They offer same day service if you call before 1 PM.....except that day all mechanics were already committed. No service Sunday, so they offered me a time slot Monday 12PM - 4 PM. Did not show, when I called, "the mechanic, Doug, was a bit delayed but would definitively show up". Well, he didn't, so I called at 4:30 PM and 5 PM only to listen to a tape. Nothing since, no phone call from either the mechanic or the company. Worst service I have ever experienced! P.S. I wanted to write a review for All American because I saw the reviews that came before mine and I was very skeptical. If someone hadn't personally recommended them to me I probably would've passed by them but I wanted a second opinion on a subzero repair. Well I have to say I couldn't be happier and All-American diagnosed and repaired the problem in one day. This is after I had a factory authorized subzero repair person come to my house and tell me that I need a new fridge, or a rebuild that they couldn't guarantee. The rebuild would be $2000 or new fridge was $10,000. I was very surprised that the sub zero service technician didn't realize that the fan that moves the air around the entire refrigerator was not even working and the source of the problem. Once All American replaced the fan motor and put my fridge back together, within 5 hours it was cold and almost back to its regular temperature. All-American showed up exactly when they said they would and I received a phone call 20 minutes before the technician arrived. He even drove up to Trumbull to get the replacement motor and came back to finish the installation. I have to say that I'm very happy with this experience. read more

Our family has been a satisfied customer of J B Appliance for over 30 years. Jim and his staff are courteous, helpful and accommodating. They are prompt and honest. When I married and moved a couple towns away they still came to install/service my appliances. That is excellent customer service. I have purchased a Maytag washer and dryer from Jim and he has not steered me wrong. These machines were purchased on his recommendation for durability and that they are. I also have a subzero and Miele dishwasher that they have serviced with excellent results. Their pricing is reasonable and comparable if not better than other appliance repair companies. Do not use these guys!!! 6 months and 700.00 later, the SUPER rude partner in Florida told me I have to order a 500.00 part to fix my dryer, and thinks I'm rude. Well yes, after 18 phone calls (yes, not exaggerating, 18!) to get a status, I'm still polite, but I guess if you ask to get the part at cost given its been six months and you still don't have a working dryer that's considered rude. I was only on here to get the phone number quickly - and noticed these reviews so thought I should add my 2 cents. I've had three service calls over the last 3 or 4 years: 2011 - 5 stars: My ge washer was knocking like crazy. The tech opened it up and told me to call GE - even though it wasn't under warranty anymore and tell them this is a noted design flaw. He could have just fixed it and charged me $$$$ - GE shipped the replacement part that day!! The tech came back the next week with a 2nd tech (big job) and fixed it - $100. 2014 - 4 stars: Fixed the broiler in my oven - no problems - in and out (after ordering the part and waiting a week for it to come in). 2015 - 4 stars: The clock/timer/display on our stove went bonkers. Tech came, took it apart, needed to order parts - mentioned something about the freezer while talking - looked at that too and adjusted the door so it would stop freezing closed. I am still waiting for the stove parts (going on three weeks) but am sure they will be out as soon as it is in. read more
