So going with their reco, we contacted Five Star and scheduled for our moving last weekend. A few things 1. Rates are clear and there are no hidden charges 2. Communication is crisp and good follow up before and after the service 3. Follow up call to get feedback and areas where they can improve The team (movers) Loading time 1. Showed up on time 2. Went through the contract once again with us 3. Checked our items to move 4. Without a break worked on loading the truck 5. A few items didnt fit so they informed that they will make one more run At the site of unloading 1. Looked at the new house 2. Unloaded the boxes / furniture 3. Moved boxes / furniture to the designated areas 4. Assembled the furniture back in place --- We had a sofa that we wanted on the second level. The sofa couldnt fit in the stairs. The team then suggested using straps and hoisting to the second level. They managed to get the sofa upstairs. We were pleasantly surprised and happy that the team suggested an option and executed on it flawlessly. Over all very happy with Peter and his crew. Hard working and very professional team. Based on yelp reviews, we used Five Star Moving to move from a 3bd/2 ba to 4 bd/3ba last week. Very professional company - the 4 man crew was timely, courteous, and professional, and I would definitely recommend. In the weeks before, I kept changing details of the move (date of move, 1-to-2-to-1 pick-up location, etc.) They were patient with the changes, and no errors on date / location come moving day. Sergey and his team arrived on time, giving me a call beforehand that they were on their way. The team worked quickly and were careful to wrap up furniture before loading on the truck. We packed and labeled our own boxes, but they disassembled all furniture. At the new house, they were very skilled at navigating the narrow hall / doorway to get the beds in and carefully re-assembled all furniture. All furniture appeared in good condition - no scratches or damages. When setting up the furniture, they check with us on placement and moved things around when we changed our minds a couple of times. I asked them to protect the floor when moving items in the new house. They laid out runners in the hall and used the furniture pad covers to protect the new carpet from getting dirty. I really like the service I received here, but I also would like to give you a few tips that will make your move go smoother. A) Make sure your parking is reserved ahead of time to save headaches. Daniel, from the office, told me I should do this to avoid getting a ticket or getting complaints from management. I didn't even think of this. B) Offer water and buy lunch for the movers. Just ask them what they want to eat, not if they are hungry. Of course they would say no, because they are professional movers. C) Don't complain! They are working hard. You go and lift that heavy furniture up all day and everyday and see what happens. If you have a complaint, call the office, they will take care of it. I personally didn't have any complaints, so you should be good. D) If you're worried about damage, take photos! None of my furniture was damaged, but I took photos just to make sure. E) Be lighthearted around the workers, and tip!. They are not the owners so they probably aren't getting paid that much. They worked so hard for me. If I could have given them a bigger tip I would have. 10%-15% should be good. You can then split it between the workers you have. Trust me, they will be happy. At any rate, they will be professional, even if you don't tip. But you should tip if you're a decent human being. read more

All of the furniture packing materials are included, and even boxes! Refundable deposit! That is real deal! Easy booking online, emailed back and forth all the questions and answers, nothing is hidden. They called and emailed to confirm. Had some escrow problems and as a result had to change my moving date, and dispatcher was really great and helpful about re-scheduling. The phone customer support was great as well, and they made sure to be in contact with us on the day of the moving day. Roman, Sherzot and Petya were awesome! They arrived on time, even a bit earlier by 15 minutes or so, and I was nervous about their reaction to the amount of furniture and boxes of our 3 bedroom 2 bath house + half full garage + backyard full of grills, full shed and swings, but they handled it professionally and worked trough the day without complaining. It took them 2 trips to move everything and they were completely done by 8 pm. No furniture got damaged nor scratched, they provided about 20 boxes of small size to pack my kitchen content at absolutely no charge as promised! Movers were very careful with my furniture, very communicative and friendly. Would definitely use this company again for my next move but hoping its not going to happen any time soon. read more

I liked moving with "Five Star Movers" very much. They transported all our furniture and all our things from one three-bedroom apartment to another. We did not do anything. They packed all items to the boxes, wrote on each box what is inside, marked fragile items. They wrapped every piece of furniture in blankets, disassembled what was needed. They hung the clothes into wardrobe boxes right on the hangers, so nothing crumpled. Nothing got broken nor damaged during the move. The team assembled the furniture in the new place, hung out the clothes in the rooms, and even made the beds. The team is very professional. They know a lot of methods allowing to work fast and accurately. They are more skilled in furniture assembly-disassembly than the professionals I had hired to assemble the furniture for the first time. They talked friendly among themselves and were polite to me, and always asked questions in every situation where even a minor concern could happen. All I can say about these guys is that they are professional moving company in Santa Clara CA, and they definitely know their job. From the first call to obtain some information about rates and packing and all that to the actual moving day. My movers arrived on time and worked efficiently. Glass doors were removed from my china cabinet and wrapped into the moving blankets and cardboard. My IKEA bed was disassembled in order to get it out of the room and wrapped with moving pads as well as my other furniture items. Movers also packed my kitchen cabinet content into the boxes using enormous amount of packing-dish paper and all arrived in one piece. No complains about two flights of stairs or heavy items that I had in my house. Total cost of my bill for moving was calculated exactly as the office previously explained to me without any surprises, and no hidden fees/charges. I would have given them a three stars if it wasn't for the way this company handled a small problem that happened during my move. One of the movers, at the very end of the job, during the installation of my dresser's mirror, he pulled too hard and the glass cracked. I wasn't upset because they worked hard all day under the rain and clouds in October. The man immediately told me about it and had already called his manager and he told him to take it back to the office and they would deliver it fixed within 10 days. That was okay with me. They put the mirror solution on the contract so that I would be assured it would be fixed. They did come out with a replaced mirror within about 6 days and installed it just the way it was supposed to be. I have high esteem for these professional movers. Mistakes happen, but they worked hard unlike anyone I've seen. I gave them five stars because they treated me with respect and because they were honest and fair with me. Thanks. read more

We got the discount coupon online, called their office and scheduled our move. We were very picky about the moving date and time due to the constraction company that took 2 weeks longer than it was agreed to complete the repaires of our new home. We called Daniel 3 times to rescedule our moving date and it was never a problem. We did move 4 times for the past 7-9 years and i thoght that we knew everything about how movers work. These are the reasons why i am giving 5 stars: 1)Came on time! 2)Clean and polite! 3)No one smoked or was on their cell phones! 4) Professionals/No damage was done to any of my belongings! 5) The price is reasonable! I was shaking like a leaf when I had to search for a San Jose moving company because normally the whole moving process literally drives me up the wall. I was floored by how quick the packing and loading was. I mean wow! I kept telling them to slow down (but not really because time = money). I was dying to move into my new place and every minute we kept getting closer to being fully loaded my heart would sink. After it was loaded, boom, it felt like I was instantly unloaded. As the team showed up and started working I realized that that choosing this moving company was the best choice. Came on time, started working right a way, everyone was polite and definitely new what they were doing. At the end there was no ,,Surprises,, Bill was explained to me in details, packing materials were included in the hourly rates, the only extra charge was for the boxes, and they are so cheap that its even funny. My 2 Bedroom apartment was done 6.5 hours, long carry, their truck was parked kind of far but there was no other way to park it. I've moved alot, and this by far is the smoothest move ive ever had! I recieved a 20 minute courtesy call and they arrived early with an uplifting positive attitude and got right to it. I mean these guys worked so hard i had to force them to stop and take a break and when they did they even went and got me coffee as well! I moved into my new home in Milpitas CA today with Five Star Moving Companies. They started working late by 45 minutes because the elevator in my new building was used by 2 other moving companies and it was a mess!!! But my movers fix the situation by excellent work! Peter, Jason and Tim were very professional and super friendly :) Peter was a pro and the other 2 guys were also very good. 2 years ago I had hired Spartan moving systems and end it up with the bill almost $1450, these guys did same amount of work for a little bit over $900!!! Five Star Moving helped us move twice and each time was fantastic. The first was moving furniture out of our house into storage so that our house could be staged to sell. The second was moving additional furniture out of house (and storage) and into a second story home. Ivan and his team took such good care of our furniture (and newly painted walls). I felt really bad that when I planned my move from the SF Bay Area to Sacramento, it turned out to be during the peak of a heat wave, but they still got the job done moving me into my 3rd floor apartment with no elevator far faster than I expected. Sold my properties, Had to 2 beautiful 4 bedroom homes to empty.. I donated some furniture to the Goodwill. Five Star came to the rescue, They moved my furniture and belongings into two diffrent location, Made at stop at public storage emptied a load there, And made another trip to Goodwil. Five Star did what I thought would take 2 1/2 days in 1 day. 3 guys used a enormous amount of blackets to and tape to protect my furniture. Just moved into my new place last week. I hired a 2 man crew to move my 1 bedroom apartment. They called prior to arrival and were extremely professional. Sergei and his partner wrapped all of my furniture in blankets before shrink wrapping it. They were methodical and meticulous in ensuring nothing would be damaged. They even provided a box for my 55" tv at no extra cost. The move took 10 hours time due to narrow stair cases and elevator issues out of their control. I'd recommend them to anyone. These guys moved all of our furniture out of the second floor and into a POD in our driveway. They were fast and careful and so good that we called them back two weeks later to unpack everything and put it back. We had just painted and put in new carpeting so we asked them to be careful rather than quick. They ended up being both!
