Steve and the team at All One Landscaping are the best.  They just finished my drought-tolerant front yard including creating two paver pathways, a new porch, a rock river (with my existing rocks), three trees, plenty of plantings, lighting and irrigation drips  Steve is a pro.  I don't know much about gardening and he was so helpful in picking plants that fit my preferences for year-round color,  minimal water requirements and low maintenance.  He picked trees that attract butterflies and hummingbirds, too.  His team was very detail oriented, especially on the patio and paths.  Very professional, super responsive and a pleasure to work with.  Today he walked me through everything including how the drips and lights work, plus a few maintenance tips (very little needed).  I am looking forward to phase 2- the backyard with Steve and team.  Really can't ask for better and would highly recommend All One Landscaping. read more

We recommend All One Landscape, especially if you have a good idea of what you want in advance. We did not want to hire a designer, and so although we had no explicit plan on paper, Steve was able to grasp our intent and he spray painted the bare earth to show where the curvy walkway encompassed a circle kit of pavers that led onto a new patio before our front door. We could visualize and make changes as we went. The old front lawn was removed, and the walkway laid to bisect the new gardens with one side shrubs and the other side succulents. We used red lava rock covering the drip system and the effect is stunning! Steve's quote was competitive and broken down so we could see what each part was going to cost. We nixed an expensive planter idea and had him install a new sod lawn on our back garden instead. Steve is the owner and overseer and his various crews and subcontractors were all very nice and professional, although without a set of plans, it was best we were at home to make sure the layout was what we wanted. The curving pathway meant a lot of stone cutting for that particular crew but it was well worth it. Steve chose our plantings after we gave him a list of plants we liked, and we did some legwork by visiting garden supply places in San Jose to choose pavers. The work proceeded quickly and was finished before our deadline. We are very happy with the results. read more

I really wanted to like these guys, but can't recommend them based on my experience. They were the lowest bid for my project and I liked working with Steve on the design and options. However, many things went wrong during the actual project: - Steve wasn't onsite for most of the project and left the work to someone else. That person kept trying to take shortcuts and skip doing work that Steve had promised he would do. - They mixed up the designs with another client and kept building the wrong planters. Even after that was cleared up, the result was far from what I wanted and I had to finish the work myself. - They asked me where I wanted the plants, but sometimes they were installed off-center from where I wanted them. - Some of the plants seemed dead or dying when they installed them. Steve said that's just how they look that time of year. Now 5 months later, they look the same (dead) and Steve doesn't warranty plants. So, I will have to replace 5 or more plants myself. - If I wasn't there during all three days of this work, it would have have come out even worse, even though I gave them a detailed design and walked through the whole thing with them. I think they are capable of doing better work, but only if Steve is onsite and as long as you watch over every detail of what they do and get every detail in writing. read more

My lawn looks awful! All One Landscape installed it one year ago and it was nice for that summer. It is supposed to be drought tolerant grass which only needs watering a few times a week. Starting this spring, I set up the watering for 3 times/week and the lawn started to go brown immediately. I upped it to daily watering and that helped, but there were still brown areas so I upped the time. I'm now watering daily for 40 minutes and there are still brown areas! Obviously, this is not good. So, I called the company for some help/guidance and have not had a return call in more than a week. read more

Scope of work included replacing a ~1500 sq ft area of grass, planting about 10 small trees and installing new irrigation at our neighborhood swim club. From start to finish, this company was professional and prompt in all their communication. Steve gave us a written estimate for the work within a day of meeting and was always responsive to our requests. When they were picking up the trees, we also appreciated that they informed us that the nursery had just moved the 5 gallon trees into the 15 gallon containers and advised us to go with the 5 gallon trees instead, which saved us several hundred dollars. The new grass and trees looked great when they were done. They also were responsive and graciously returned to fine tune a few details. I had been searching and interviewing different landscapers and needed to pick someone with a consultative eye that could make recommendations for landscaping my backyard at a reasonable price. We used All One Lanscape for complete make over of our backyard. The work included demolishing concrete patio, removing all the trees/lawn and create complete landscape with pavers, lawn, flowers and trees. We had a great experience with Steve and Gerardo. We wanted to get a seat wall/ raised bed done for an odd shaped patch of dirt in the middle of our yard. Steve was very quick to come in for an estimate and provided a quote that was very reasonable for the type of seat wall (poured concrete with slate front and capstone) we chose. We were expecting a baby soon so the timing was critical. Steve and crew managed to start the work within a week after we gave them the go ahead. I would have love to give good rating to this company. I used them last winter to install drip system for my home. Now as I am trying to put a pathway, I discovered a leak. I notified the company, before assessing, Steve said they don't repair after 6 months. After another email and a phone call, they come to assess. They ask for $70 to repair the leak ( pipe was not broken) and accused me of using a tractor in this area, putting pressure causing the pipe to crack. As I was the one digging the pathway, I didn't use any machinery in that area. I hand dug when the ground was still moist from the rain. I would have given a different rating, if I hadn't felt that they were try to nickel and dime me and accused me of lying. I just wished people would ask questions before placing accusations. Shoot first and ask questions doesn't work well for small business. You lost a customer who likes to refer business. read more

I had to really think it over, for a time, if I wanted to write a review of my experience with "All One Landscape". On August 17th I called and spoke with Steve if he trimmed hedges and his reply was "yes". We set a time for 10 am for the following day. I even took off from work so I would be home so I wouldn't miss Steve. The following day arrived and so did 10 am and 11 am and 12 pm and no Steve. I figured I would get a phone call saying he would be late, maybe a e-mail or arrive late because something disrupted his schedule. Not a word. I don't know about you but to not show up for a scheduled appointment and not call shows me gutter business principles. What I can not understand is how he got six five star reviews and the last one just in July. My time is as valuable as anyone else's and for me to take off from work and loss a days pay upsets me greatly. I advise no one to do business with this person because if he can not make agreed upon schedules, then I would be afraid to be quoted a price at the beginning of a job and when complete be charged double. read more
