    Bathroom sorely needs updating.
    Chelsea A.

I don't leave reviews very often, so I'm going to do my best to be succinct and clear. I am sorry to say that this is not going to be a very favorable review, but part of the blame does belong to my husband as expectations really do affect perspective. When he said, "This is a really nice place. A 4 Star resort !" I assumed that he mean it was a really nice place. A 4 Star resort. So my expectations were high. I should have done more research. My bad. I would like to start with the positives, because there are a few. This wasn't the worst place I've had to stay in, and I truly want to be realistic in the pictures I paint. Firstly, for the most part the staff was efficient, and professional. There were always staff actively maintaining and cleaning the premises. Most everyone was polite, and made an effort to make us as comfortable as possible. The pool, and next door water park are certainly the highlights for the kids- (I was bored.) In addition to only being a few steps from the Caribbean waters, and white sand beaches. The drinks are all inclusive. Whether it's coffee, tea, sodas, cocktails, wine, or even sparkling wine, all of that is included in the AI price. The quality is middle of the road, and about what you'd expect for a family friendly resort. Ice+flavored corn syrup+alcohol. Just be prepared to tip your bartenders and waiters. We were happy to as we felt we received fair service. The food was not bad. It wasn't good either. It was your standard buffet fair. If you like ballpark quality nachos, spaghetti, and rice on a daily basis then this is your place. It definitely caters to children and families of small children. For a traveling family it is a huge relief to know that your children are enjoying themselves, so I was happy to see them happy. Also, none of us experienced any food sickness, or food poisoning. I must admit that was one of my concerns. Turns out it was unfounded. Here is where my gripes come in: this is definitely an older resort. The wear and tear is apparent, and while the staff does work hard to keep it clean and orderly, the age of the place is definitely showing. The rooms are tiled, and the doors are thin. Sound carries, especially on the weekends. You cannot avoid the noise of partiers as they revel up and down the open air hallways outside your door till all hours of the night. Calling the front office staff to request that quiet be observed after 10:00 p.m. did us little good. The children complained mostly in the evenings about how loud it was and how tired they were. The beds were fairly comfortable, but on the hard side, and the shower worked properly, although in need of an update. If it wasn't for the fact that it was so loud I would say that it was a comfortable place to sleep, but to spend as little time in your room as possible. If you're at the pool, then you're probably happy enough. I just never looked forward to going back to my room at the end of the day. The concierge, and excursion planning office was a bit of a nuisance. We felt stalked for a few days as we would walk down through the lobby. They were constantly trying to sell us on some excursion that included us attending an hour and a half long seminar on exciting opportunities to invest in. After the third time that I refused they finally left us alone. We ended up independently planning our own excursions without the assistance of their services. I understand that they are trying to generate business, but this experience was all together very unpleasant. There seems to be a lot of disorganization and miscommunication around event planning. We would frequently be given inconsistent information about meals, and events being held on the premises. But I think this is easily remedied with better communication throughout staff. It was just a little frustrating for us to find out the correct information last minute. We stayed for eight nights, which felt rather excessive. I'd say 3 to 5 nights is doable. Just be sure you are realistic about your expectations. If your children are able to sleep, I think they will enjoy themselves. I would not recommend this place for a couple without children who expects quality food and beverages, and luxurious rooming conditions. There is nothing luxurious about this place. Clean? Yes. Family friendly? Yes. Quality? I am sorry, but that's a no.

Let me get things right. Our family had a decent experience here but we were actually very lucky to find this place. Our Airbnb down the street was a hot mess (dirty and full of pest) so we had to leave the next day we got there, we stumble into this resort and they accommodated 5 of us plus a baby for a 7 days stay. This was the only affordable place we were able to find. Everything else would have been double of price. So for what we payed we had a good experience. Few things could be better and I think I does not requiere a lot. Let's start. Check in was nice quick and easy, all inclusive bracelets for all the adults, Martin the manager was very nice and helpful. The buffet is nice and had plenty of options but of course with these many days it got a little old at the end, specially the desserts. But food was good overall. Cancun is very hot and humid so there are little places where you can get away, the restaurant could have put the AC a little cooler, it seemed like everyone was sweeting including the servers. With the servers it needs a lot of work, just in general it was not the nicest treatment, just few of them were very nice and work with good treatment regarles of tips or not. In general needs work. Our room was good and the ac worked in two of the 3 rooms but they leaked a lot and it took a while for them to fix the issue. Same with the crib we asked for, they gave us one with holes and took them 2 days to change it. Pillows were a mess, it is always hard to find good pillows I guess. To be fair. The place is nice overall, right on the beach and very private beach and ocean, no one but the guest will use it. The aqua park is amazing for all ages. And they have plenty of activities for everyone during the day and night. I recommend it if you really are on a budget!

I don't even know where to begin so let me try to go step by step Beach: VERY WELL MAINTAINED. The rooms in the main building are Steps from the beach. Staff rake up the seaweed and keep the beach clean throughout the day. Private Pool: Perfect for families with children. Safe. Lifeguard was on duty all day. Water activities like pool soccer, basketball and surfing were offered by staff during the day. Also poolside trivia etc. Bar stayed open and active until 10 or 11 pm Rooms were comfortable. I did not have any issues. Air conditioner worked, The hot water worked. TV worked (after I figured out how to change the audio to english lol) I am a vegan so I was very nervous about food ... and again they came thru. One dining hall. Options for everyone. Very friendly service. Clean etc Waterpark: Very good for kids. Safe clean and a lifeguard is on duty too. It is as described, pics and all. The bar is open over there too. ONE DOWNSIDE When booking you would not know that this property is HUGE. I stayed in a suite on the "main side" with the dining hall; across the street has the standard rooms, waterpark, small pool and basketball court. I HIGHLY recommend this resort for families especially with children!!

Scared kids from the inappropriate movie at the kids club!

We travel often & have an understanding that we are in Mexico, but this place was HORRIBLE We were here 7 days/ 4 suites/ 13 people and we are RCI members & time share owners. Everything was paid in 6 months advance. First of all- the one place you can eat is the buffet due to covid, unless you have a reservation for their one restaurant "Osters" so we made a reservation 3 times, all 3 times the restaurant was closed. We started to joke the restaurant didn't exist. The food at the BUFFET is bland, basic & service is inconsistent. I hated the food. I lived off the oatmeal (which was good) We primarily booked this resort for the WATERPARK It's across the street far from the main pool. The MAIN POOL very small, run down. The one time the KIDS CLUB was open they played an inappropriate Halloween movie "the witches" I'm all about Halloween and let my kids watch more than most- but this was so scary we left with all 6 kids crying. The LAUNDRY service is a joke. The excursion salesman was hassling me and I had to ask him to get out of my face. The BEACH is pretty but not for swimming it's only 2 feet deep. It's far from everything WIFI doesn't work at all Even on the last day we waited 45 minutes for our provided transportation, they eventually had to order us a taxi because once again, that was non existent. Oh and to top it all off, they are trying to charge us for extra days when everything was paid in advance! We have to dispute with our credit card company!

Having Visited Cancun Several times I had the pleasure of meeting the best Bartender around. Here in the swimming pool bar at the All Ritmo Hotel. "Pedro Rocks" made the trip with my group all the better. I have never had drinks so flavorful. I'll be back... All the staff I encountered were not just friendly but willing to go the extra mile in making my stay the best they possibly could. Including Christian and Alex in the Cafeteria. Awesome Job Guys.

I would not recommend staying here. It looks nice in the pictures but, the beds were hard, the sheets were stained, the shower water came out brown, and the food wasn't great. The only good thing I can say is that the staff was very friendly. I definitely won't be going back

All Ritmo was a wonderful place to stay at for our family vacation. The entire staff was amazing! Alejandro, Juan, Hugo, Angel, Gerry, and Armando were very accommodating with our bags, drinks, food, and directions. Elena did a wonderful job on my massage on the beach. The entertainment staff, Camila, Manu, and Pepe Boy kept the fun at the pool going all day, the water sports readily available, yoga and water Aerobics challenging, and the night shows spectacular! Although the facility is outdated the food was great, the staff amazing, the entertainment wonderful, and the beach was very clean and amazing! I would highly recommend this resort!

If I could give it no stars I would! This place is a joke I'm currently staying here and the staff is very rude even if you tip them! We wanted to go out for the night and the hotel people called cabs only for us to find out that they close all places at 11 after we paid for cabs because they don't offer shuttles from their hotel. The hotel could of informed us of the situation but instead they only thought about "their cut". I'm a first timer to staying at an all inclusive hotel but this is not it! The room was horrible. People here were horrible! To top it off they ask for you to recycle towels so they can save water and soap! Who asks that for the price I paid I would expect clean linens for my stay. I don't ever write reviews but please please don't spend a dime at this place it's really not worth it. My room is disgusting and my families as well. The beds are hard as rock, and we only get three channels on our tv when supposedly they offer more!

My husband and I visited ERC for his 30th birthday, and it exceeded all expectations. This was the most beautiful and relaxing place we have ever been. We got the swim up suite room, and loved it. The resort was so clean and well maintained, the rooms were wonderful, the food was the best we have ever had, the shows/activities at night were so fun, the drinks were delicious, the app was great at navigating the resort, and the pool is kept at the best temperature. The staff was truly the pinnacle of excellence. They made our experience so incredible and much better. Thank you so much Mario for making my husbands birthday so memorable. My only recommendations for guests, is that some of the restaurants have a dress code (my husband hates pants, so we had to buy him a pair at the gift shop), bring sunscreen/sunglasses/wide brim hat/after sun care, and if you get eaten to death my mosquitos bring bug spray. My husband didnt get bit at all, and i got bitten over 40 times. We cant wait to come back!

To be honest, we can't imagine spending New Year's Eve anywhere else. Both times have been absolutely fantastic; the team didn't skip a beat. The resort is stunning and impeccably maintained, but what truly makes this place a gem is its incredible team and vibrant atmosphere. Entertainment The entertainment is top-notch, with a variety of high-energy performances each night. We were absolutely blown away by the Freddie Mercury tribute act. The Heart of the Resort: The Staff As wonderful as the resort itself is, the staff are the real reason we started planning our next trip back before we even left. They made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and are the key to the entire experience. We spent most of our days at the Excellence Club pool, and our waiter, Floricel, was a true standout. He was wildly attentive and responsive, ensuring our glasses were never empty. He didn't just take orders; he helped us discover the most incredible new drinks and his fun, engaging personality truly made our days by the pool so much more enjoyable. Our concierges, Edgar and David, were unbelievably helpful. From the moment we arrived, they helped us navigate our time at the resort, making reservations and ensuring every detail was handled. Having a dedicated concierge team like them is so important; they remove all the stress of planning and make you feel completely prioritized and cared for throughout your entire stay. We truly felt like their only guests. We also have to give a shout-out to Cesar at the lobby bar. We were so impressed that he recognized us from our previous trip, and of course, we remembered him! He is exceptionally attentive, and man, that guy is fast. He's a true professional. Last but certainly not least, a special mention goes to the man running the pizza oven at the main pool. He deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his craft. He was just killing it all day, every day, serving up perfect pizzas with a smile. We were also told that the lobster house does not serve lobster tails from march to June due to them being out of season. Unfortunately, for the past two years, our experiences have declined significantly. The hotel no longer maintains the level of service and standards we once loved. The atmosphere feels different, the staff are not as welcoming, and there is a noticeable lack of attentiveness and care. During this stay, we had a particularly unpleasant two-day experience at the beach regarding the setup of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Rather than going into every detail, I will simply say the situation was handled poorly and left us very disappointed. What was most upsetting was that no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issue or make up for the inconvenience. Even after speaking with Guest Relations, who mentioned contacting the General Manager, nothing improved the following day. No accommodation or gesture was offered, which was surprising given the hotel's luxury positioning. It is also noticeable that the property feels quite empty during weekdays, except on special occasions or long weekends. Even then, the warmth and hospitality we once associated with this hotel seem to be missing. That said, I want to sincerely recognize Valenzo, who served us daily. He was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. We never had to ask for anything, he would notice small details, like refilling ice before we even realized it was melting. His service was outstanding and he truly tried to make our stay better. Thank you, Valenzo. You made a difference. It is genuinely sad to see a place that once meant so much to us lose its standard. We checked in on a Sunday around 4:30, and the room was already cleaned up and ready. We stayed in one of the terrace rooms on the fourth floor, and the room was well maintained the whole trip. Housekeeping was really good, and the lady who seemed to consistently clean our room was super friendly. They also do evening turndown service between about 6 and 9, which I liked more than I thought I would. The food was hit or miss. Sea Corner was easily the biggest disappointment. You really have to like ceviche to enjoy that spot. I tried the battered fish taco, which was a really small rolled fried fish taco and honestly tasted kind of stale. The red snapper tostada was okay, but still pretty subpar. Overall, Sea Corner is one I would skip. Ciete's breakfast buffet was decent, but still very buffet. Some of the food had that stale, been-sitting-out-too-long taste, but the omelet bar and fresh juice/smoothie bar helped a lot. They have two omelet bars, which spreads people out, and Marco at the smoothie bar was awesome. He remembered me after my first smoothie and was friendly the rest of the trip. Azure was pretty good. We split hummus and pita, and I got the chicken in red wine. The chicken was cooked perfectly and came on a bed of mashed potatoes that were really good. Dessert was just okay. The baklava was very cinnamon-heavy and almost tasted like a churro. MB was good and definitely felt like their "dress up" restaurant. I had the stuffed chicken, my girlfriend had the veal cheek, and we also tried the filet mignon. The filet was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the meal overall was good. Not amazing, but one of the better dinners there. Hidden Garden was probably our favorite restaurant. We went there twice because it was that good compared to the other options. The samosas, gyoza, chicken satay, shrimp fried rice, and desserts were all really good. The Thao, basically their version of orange chicken, was also really good. The pad Thai was okay, but sweeter than I prefer. Their signature cocktails were also really good. The Thursday night show was a nice part of the trip. They had a buffet by the pool, with a mariachi band from 7 to 8 and traditional Mexican dancing from 8 to 9. The dancing was almost like a theater-style show, and that part was great. The buffet was on par or slightly below par. They had a crepe bar, a grill with pretty good steak and chicken, and a couple decent soups, but a lot of it still had that left-out-too-long, slightly stale buffet taste. The entertainment and activities were a big highlight. Trivia every night was great, and karaoke was a blast once people started getting into it. Pablo hosted trivia and karaoke with Jorge as the DJ, and Pablo brought a lot of energy. Jorge also DJs at Egos later at night, and they played a good mix of American dance music and Latin dance music. During the day, we tried archery, water aerobics, bingo, the guacamole class, casino night, and a self-facial class. Archery was a blast, and aqua aerobics in the infinity pool was really fun. Ricky was a ball of energy, and Jocelyn was really cool too. The activities did not feel like boring resort filler, which was a nice surprise. A few things could be better. Pool towel service closes at 6, even though people are still in the pool later. There is also basically no shade in most of the pools, so you get crispy pretty fast. They also need to be clearer about which pool beds are first-come, first-serve and which ones are paid or for Club Aqua. I saw multiple people get moved because it was not explained well. Communication could be better too. Some restaurants are closed on certain days, probably because the resort was around 50% capacity, but they should give you a schedule at check-in. We planned to try Verana, their Italian restaurant, and then found out it was closed that day. The humidity is something to think about. Obviously it is Cancun, but the indoor areas and hallways do not have much air circulation. Our fourth-floor hallway also had a broken water feature with sitting water, and I think that made the hallway smell more humid and musky than the rest of the resort. The drinks were decent, but I would not go in expecting strong resort cocktails. I drank margaritas and pina coladas most of the trip and never really felt much from them. For stronger drinks, shots are probably the better route. Overall, Live Aqua Cancun was a really nice, relaxing trip. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the activities were way more fun than expected, and Hidden Garden was a nice surprise. The food is not amazing across the board, the pool setup could be better, and communication could use work, but I still had a really good time. Good resort, not perfect, but definitely worth checking out.

We were here for 1 week and absolutely loved it. Each building has a concierge that is able to handle bookings or notify you of upcoming activities. My concierge was very helpful and communicated with me through whatsapp. You can also use the hyatt app to find this information. The resort offered many things to do throughout the day. There is also a beautiful beach, and the resort is a short walk to the town of Akumal. Activities were endless (in the morning). There are also some activities that have a limit on participants, so you may need to reserve early such as midnight for paddleboarding, or get to them at least an hour early to have a spot. Unfortunately pools were shutdown by 7. There were multiple restaurant/food options. Drinks were everywhere! There was also drink service at the pools. Room service was included and mini fridge restocked everyday. Tipping was not expected here, but they did accept pesos / US dollars. Overall an amazing experience. It was a really nice adult vacation where all you do is eat and drink. Also, the resort offers activities you can join, but some require advance sign-up, which you can do through the app or your building's concierge. There were a good number of restaurants that you could go to. And there was a good number of bars as well. The staff was really nice and frendly always greeting you and making sure that you are okay. One downside is that if you want to lie at the beach, you will need to get there early to get a chair. A majority of the time, we were at the quiet pool, where people would just be doing their own thing, such as reading a book, on their phone, or just taking a nap. Some people would go into the pool from time to time. But definitely more relaxing.

After such a missed opportunity with the birthday decor, I should've known it was going downhill from here. After the presentation that ended up being 3 hours not 90 mins, I signed up the the Inspira vacation membership but changed my mind the following day. I submitted a cancellation request for the membership within the contract's grace period and received no response until after that period had passed. It's says a lot about the character of a brand when a company is highly responsive during the sales process but far less responsive when a customer exercises their contractual rights. Also, Maria Dolores wasn't great. It was actually a 5/10. The other restaurants on property have way better food. After this experience, I will NEVER return.

Adults only, couples only, all-inclusive resort - that's a big yes! We hadn't been to a resort in a long time and were very stoked for our visit in August 2025. As is the standard for the Excellence brand of resorts - the staff greeted us warmly and professionally. Instantly, our needs were taken care of - the room wasn't ready, but we were provided with an opportunity to change and immediately take advantage of our stay. The size of the resort initially threw us off - it is much smaller than your typical resort, but it also caters to a smaller crowd for (their words) "a boutique experience." It seemed dead until we got close to the beach area and the swim-up bar. This is where the people hang out. Dinner at El Mar our first night was amazing - excellent seafood (check out the pics) and service. We ate twice each at Lupita Steakhouse and La Isla. Unfortunately, the hotel kept changing the schedule of which restaurant would be open what night. This threw off our dinner plans more than once, and we spent more time at La Isla (with the least exciting menu) getting eaten by mosquitoes than we cared for. During our stay, the beach snacks menu also changed. It went from a delicious two-page menu to a sad one-pager; gross nachos and hot dogs, anyone? Online, people went on full-on rants about this. It turns out the menus across all the Excellence resorts are being stream-lined to the new executive chef's "vision." Some people, from what I read online, are now considering cancelling their reservations, not wanting to fly all the way here for waffles and burgers. On top of the rebranding, the hotel is also undergoing renovations to bring it up to modern times. We thought our room was beautiful, but it was a tad outdated. For customer service, though - the Excellence brand will not settle for less than, well, excellence. All of our interactions with staff at all levels was top-notch. Because of the vibe here - we didn't talk to anyone but hotel staff for four whole days. Staff shout-outs: Denise, Luis, Fernando and Fabiola at the beach; Octavio and Bernice at the spa; Andrea, Aina, and Alexander at guest services; Pasquale, Alex, and Elvis at pool side; Cirilo and Vanya at El Mar, Brenda at La Isla, and Alberto and Barbra at Lupita. Fantastic job, everyone! Vibe: 5/5. Food: 3/5. Room: 4/5. Customer service: 10/10!!!!!

We paid approximately $17,000 for this vacation, so it was disappointing that throughout the resort there were several instances where staff seemed to be expecting additional tips, creating an awkward atmosphere. I understand that some employees may not have known our package included gratuities, but it still left us feeling uncomfortable. We have previously stayed at Secrets Akumal and Secrets The Vine, and both experiences were exceptional. We love the Secrets brand and were excited to try this property. The resort itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and very clean. Some staff members were genuinely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the level of service was inconsistent throughout our stay, and we encountered multiple situations where staff members were unhelpful, unfriendly, or simply rude. As Preferred Club guests, we checked in through the Preferred Lounge. One of our rooms had a significant mosquito problem. When I asked the Preferred concierge if anything could be done, I was repeatedly told there was nothing they could do. Only after I continued to press the issue was I told the room could be fumigated. The concierge took down the requested date and time, but when we followed up the next day, no one had any record of the request, and we had to start the process all over again. The food experience was also inconsistent. Our first dinner at El Patio was excellent, but when we returned another evening, much of the food was overcooked and dry. One of the cocktails we ordered was noticeably missing sweetness. We knew this because we had been ordering the same drink throughout the resort. When we politely mentioned it to our server, he repeatedly insisted nothing was wrong with it. My husband suggested it might simply need more syrup. Instead of taking the drink back to have it corrected, the server brought a bottle of syrup to the table. His demeanor throughout the interaction was cold and dismissive. Another disappointing experience occurred on our final morning. My parents went to Market Café for breakfast by themselves and sat patiently for quite some time without anyone taking their drink order. My mother eventually approached a server to ask for assistance. That employee spoke with the server assigned to their section, but no one ever came to the table. My mother had to seek help a second time before receiving service. Ironically, near the end of the meal, the assigned server finally appeared and asked how everything was. The entire situation felt bizarre and completely avoidable. These experiences were surprising because they are not what we have come to expect from the Secrets brand or from a five-star resort. We don't know whether the service issues were related to the fact that gratuities were already included in our package or if there were other factors involved. We would have gladly tipped additional staff members for exceptional service if gratuities had not already been included. While the property itself is beautiful, the inconsistent service significantly impacted our overall experience. Unfortunately, based on this stay, we would not return to this resort.

I was not approached by anyone offering to sell me anything or attend presentations. Staff were super friendly and helpful during our stay. There's a main pool and a quiet pool. I wish that there was more Mexican themed shows or music but I guess they try to accommodate that the majority of guests were from Canada and USA. Some of the restaurants rotate being open for dinner. Your best bet is to make reservations ahead of time. You can always show up but might have to wait depending on the time. Overall food was good. Drinks were ok but as a social drinker, I wasn't impressed with my 1-2 drinks/day during my stay. I think I had one drink that I found really good. Beach area is not private and you might have people approach you to sell you stuff or services. A polite "no, thank you" works great. Location and proximity to 5th Avenue made it a great place to explore the area. Although filled with tourists, you also get some local interactions. I would come back to this resort in the future.

While the property has a lot of potential, it ultimately missed the mark, especially for a resort of this size. The biggest issue was the constant selling. I understand upselling is part of the business, but having to say no repeatedly throughout the stay was exhausting. Even after interacting with the same staff members multiple times, nearly every conversation felt like a sales pitch. We also received early morning calls to the room for non-urgent matters and promotions, which was disruptive and frustrating. Despite being advertised as all-inclusive, there were frequent pushes to upgrade to higher-end alcohol, exclusive experiences, and add-ons. I would much rather pay more upfront for a truly inclusive experience than feel harassed during my vacation. It really affected the overall vibe of the trip. The food was average and not memorable. The highlight was the coffee shop, which was open most of the day and consistently good. Poolside dining is very limited. You cannot casually order snacks like chips and guacamole while at the pool and instead have to go to one of the restaurants. Also be cautious with food near the pool, as wildlife grabbed my pizza while I was sitting there. Overall, this resort could be great, but the aggressive upselling, average food, and limited poolside service made it disappointing for an all-inclusive experience.
