Do not go here. They are very expensive and you don't get what you pay for. It was just under $100 for a gel manicure and pedicure and neither were good. I'm willing to pay more for good, clean service and quality, but that's not what I received. I pointed out that the polish didn't extend down to my cuticles on my hands and they didn't fix it (it looks like my nails have already grown out a week), and they didn't do a good job on my cuticles on both my hands and feet - I had to clean them up when I got home. Solid nail spot on the UWS! You definitely can't beat the location. It's right off the 1/2/3 and 72nd street. I did a walk in here on Friday. It was busy and they seemed a little frazzled. When I asked how long for a gel mani, they said no wait. I was seated right away and they started the soak off process. However, they left me sitting there way longer than normal because they had no nail technicians available. There also was no one working the desk, so as people continued to come in, one of the nail techs had to keep stopping and going to the front to help. No onto the manicure itself. I had three different people work on me until one woman took over. I had dip powder on my nails and they seemed very confused about how to remove it? I found that strange since it is a service offered here. The actual manicure was good and the woman did a great job on my nails. I thought they had a nice color selection to choose from too. However, the price was pretty steep for a regular gel mani with removal ($55 before tip). I think this is a good place if you are in the area looking for somewhere near the subway. I will probably stick to my other salons I'm a regular at, but it is good if you're in a pinch and in the area! read more

I like this nail salon because it's clean and my manicure/pedicure comes out well. They are more expensive than the ones nearby, but the premium is worth it. All their equipment comes sterilized in individual packets. They have a new strip for each client to exfoliate your feet. Nothing is reused. They apply nail polish consistently well, which the most important part. No bubbles on the polish and no cakey application. They don't do super fancy designs or anything, but the quality is consistently high. Their preparation for COVID-19 is thorough. They measure your temperature when you enter and they have plastic separators for guests and their employees. They sanitize things. read more

Echoing other reviews, you do not get what you pay for at Le Jolie. I am so disappointed that I'm writing this as I walk out. I came here much more often when I lived closer 5 years ago. Big difference. First, they're now an assembly line here. My mani / pedi was done in 40 minutes. I didn't even know that was possible. "What kind of pedicure would you like?" "Just the regular," I say. I get a disappointed look. (Really?) And away the tech went getting me through the process as quickly as possible. I go to pay and my 40 min lackluster experience is $62. What would, just a few avenues over, cost $45. When I looked down at the job the nail tech did compared to the price, I gave her a $7 tip. She looked at me and said "20% is $12." I said, "Ok." She said, pointing at the money, "This is it?" I said "What's wrong?" She said, "This is not 20%." Y'all, I almost lost it, but did not. I simply said "It is not, no." (I won't even detail the 20 min massage bc it was with a different employee and a 5 out of 10 at best--totally clouded by the previous 40 mins. Had I not already paid for it, I would've just walked out in that moment.) When the massage was done, I looked down at my dry nails. Air bubbles and streaks everywhere. This is my go-to on the UWS. They're cordial, clean and the services are exactly as promised. I do a mani pedi, manicure then chair massage. They're always accommodating & anxious to please. There are a number of acceptable other options that may be a bit cheaper, but I much prefer Le Jolie. Happy to recommend them! read more

I needed a manicure on Christmas Eve and was walking around the area to find a place. I walked by this nail salon and it seemed to have good reviews on Yelp, so I tried it out. FYI - Cards can only be used for $20 and higher. If not, they have a no-fee ATM machine available if you need cash. The place is nice and clean and the service was very good. I got a regular manicure (no gel). It was a bit expensive ($16 plus $1 for quick-dry). My gripe is that the quick-dry they use is an actual polish instead of the drops. This makes a big difference in the look of the polish and the durability. The drops are much better than the polish and it's disappointing that a place charging so much for a mani does not provide proper quick-dry drops. read more

I am sorry to say that today was my last visit to Le Jolie. I've been a semi-regular there because it's right on my walk home from work and I thought did quality work. I got a gel manicure when I was away over the holidays and came in today for removal and a new mani. After struggling to remove my gel with a soak off and inquiring whether it was powder (it wasn't), two employees started scolding me about how difficult the gel was to remove and how it must be "a different company" that produced the gel. Finally they tried filing, which worked very well. I felt so uncomfortable and I truly didn't know what the employees wanted from me - I wanted to escape! I don't need warm and fuzzy service, but this was really crummy. And, I was charged $12 on top of the regular gel manicure. Save your money and go someplace with better staff and service. read more

This spot deserves more good reviews! I got a gel manicure ($45) - the nail tech did a perfect job shaping the nails and applying the color. It's only day 2 now so i'll update if it peels/chips too soon. But she put in the prep work on my nails which some salons skip on when you're getting gel color. I get gel manicures often and i've been unhappy with another UWS nail salon so I was looking for something new. I'm curious to try their powder gel to see what that's like. I stopped by for a pedicure after trying Susie's salon on 72nd and being told it would be a 2 hour wait. It is a spacious, clean, salon but quite pricey ($38 for a basic pedi). The pedicure was ok- they only did one coat even though I asked for two. I would have expected more for the price, especially given that there are many other cheaper options. I probably wouldn't go back again Also, it was annoying that the polish jars are all pushed together on a table, making it hard to pick out a color. They should really lay them out on shelves like most places do- especially if the receptionist is going to be really impatient with customers (as they were with me). read more

I got dip powder nail extensions here and they looked great. After two days two nails popped right off. I went in and they fixed them... then a few days later they all fell off and cracked. The best part IS THEY CHARGED ME 100 dollars. Go somewhere else and get nails that stay for 50 dollars less. Very disappointed with this waste of money. read more

I have been to this nail salon three times now, always hoping that the service would be better with someone else doing my nails. They have pretty good hours and are conveniently located. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened. I got the gel manicure and the nail polish starts to come off in about 10 days. I have never had this issue before. Also, all three times they filed the nails in different shapes and length. I asked them to fix it, and they just ignore my comments. Some of the employees are pretty rude with their customers. I've been going here since the reopening. I've been getting my mani pedi here because it seems like they have been doing the most to make their customers feel safe during covid. I went there with my nail half broken hoping to fix it. They took $10 for 1 nail (for a tip). At the end of my gel "manicure" this tip came off which created room between my actual nail and a tip. Guess what the solution was. They just put some powder in that air pocket and they poured glue on top. It looked extremely ugly and disguising. this is the one of the WORST nail studios ive ever been to. i originally was going to beauty box across the street but they were overbooked. so i ended up going here -- this salon wounded my fingers & charged me $130 for a simple SNS powder manicure. -- i went in here wanting a simple white oval shaped sns powder with heart design and instead of telling me an alternative design, because apparently it was too hard for them, ALL THE EMPLOYEES stared at me, were rude, & rough with my hands! the spanish woman drilled the old sns powder i had and was so rough with the drill! the chinese man that did my nails was so rough, and made my finger bleed. i ended up telling him to just do a SIMPLE WHITE GLITTERY and it was still as expensive as the heart design i originally wanted. these employees only care about money -- no hospitality was provided. worst experience ever for an expensive demand. not to mention, 3 days later my point finger came off, had to redo again in queens. Terrible customer service. They are all about making money. I ended my manicure after 3 minutes when Linda reprimanded me for looking in my bag to give her my nail polish. The person at the counter told me that there were a lot of people waiting and that's why: 1 extra minute of her precious time! The place is not clean. And what's more: for a lip waxing, they suggest purell hand cleanser which is abrasive on your face. After trying any and every place that looked clean within a 20 block radius, I found myself consistently pleased with the quality, friendliness, and cleanliness of Le Jolie (formerly a Pinky location). I'm so spoiled by them that now that I've moved to New Jersey (and can't find a single place that pays such close attention to detail), I took a special trip to the UWS today just to get a mani/pedi and massage. The employees have the patience of saints as grumpy customers complain and talk loudly on their cell phones. I've been here at least 100 times and haven't had one issue. I even got my nails done here for my wedding day! They gentlemen who give the massages are also wonderful. They can find and work out knots in 20 minutes that a fancy spa couldn't in 90 minutes. They seem to have a really good sense of the body and how much pressure you're comfortable with. I can't say enough good things about the staff here! read more
