The restrooms and the lawn upkeep of All Souls has gone down hill ! The amount of money the cemetery makes and no changes are done with the look of their restrooms is saddening . Going to a place where you are going to see a loved one and be at peace it gets ruined once you walk into a restroom under this condition . This has gone from a weekend problem to a weekday and weekend problem . The amount of money the cemetery makes and theirs is no fund going towards the upkeep and look of what's visible to the eye and what's behind the scenes such as restrooms . The lawn maintenance is not as present as before . The grass is drying out in many areas . The grass doesn't get watered daily and the consistency of getting the grass cut on every Thursday is rare . I had planned on coming here over the past weekend. Per their website and here on Yelp, they are closed on Sunday. Out of curiosity, I called them and someone answered the phone. Turns out they are open on Sunday! How ridiculous that they can't update their website! I almost didn't go place flowers on the gravesite because their web pages stated closed on Sunday. As much as we all try to avoid this subject, ultimately we will succumb to mortality one day. But if you think outside the box, we are here to celebrate one's life, one's legacy, and through faith we know our loved ones are transitioning into the everlasting. A friend of mine who's mother recently passed away held her funeral here. She is also buried at this cemetery since All Souls is a Catholic cemetery. This particular cemetery is small compared to Rosehills and the Forest Lawns. It seems a bit on the noisy side as it faces a large street with daily traffic hustles. However, it's still a beautiful location. Mostly green pastures with some patches of brown (hopefully from the current drought conditions) is visible as we walked to the graveside. The chapel wasn't too big, but was still able to accommodate the mourners. The chapel itself can easily be converted to different religious beliefs, or denominations as there is no set permanent religious symbols to inform, but rather a more abstract cross-like symbols in the stained glass and around the wood finishings. The religious symbols can easily be interchangeable in front of the pulpit of the chapel. Yes, it's a business even though it's a Catholic cemetery. I am sure they are able to accommodate other similar denominations related to Christ such as Christians, Protestants, Hannuka, etc. The difference is their design of the cross. No offense to Catholicism please... since money sees no colors nor beliefs. Getting back on tract, yes this is a beautiful place for in eternity. There is plenty of space to park as it doesn't seem as hectic here. The funeral was beautifully conducted by a Catholic Priest, as we also had a communion. After the service, we all walked to the graveside for the ceremony conclusion. The walk was very peaceful except for the outside traffic. The grounds keepers did a magnificent job lowering the casket as I thought was the most sombering part of the funeral. They work quite fast removing the tent to packing the dirt. The funeral director was very polite and professional throughout the whole service. Ultimately, I am happy only if my friend's family is happy with their outcome. I'm here to pay my respect to her mother, and to support the family emotionally. So my verdict is they are quite happy with AS. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. The gentleman who assisted our family from beginning to end was wonderful. I'm sorry I didn't get your name. You sir deserve 5 stars for your kindness and attentiveness. The priest was missing important information. Someone should have told him WHO the parents were that were in mourning. Instead the priest asked my cousin if she was the mother and then he asked her husband if he was the deceased BROTHER. Just some basic information would go a long way here and not make things awkward in a heart breaking situation. The priest was also lacking communication. He stood with the communion for about 4 seconds before her turned around shaking his head and put it away in another room. Have some sympathy and patience! PLEASE. No one was going to go before the parents, out of respect. They were gathering their composure to move out of their pew but it didn't matter to the priest. For a man of the cloth, you were lacking in basic human compassion. The crew who worked on placing the casket: You were all so careful not to disturb any other graves. I'd like to give a big thank you to Janet and Cindy for assisting my family and I during this hard time. My father passed away in May and due to my mother having cancer we were worried about her health getting impacted. However, Janet and Cindy made sure to accommodate my mom's needs so she can safely say farewell to my dad. They both were very patient despite me asking tons of questions because I was new at doing this type of arrangement for a loved one. Janet was very quick and professional in resolving a last-minute dilemma with finding a priest/deacon to hold the rosary prayer for my dad's viewing. Other staff waiting outside of the viewing room were respectful and waited for me to come before opening the doors for our guests to go inside, they even let me have a private one-on-one farewell time with my dad which meant so much to me. On the day of my dad's burial, everything went smoothly and we, as a family, felt relieved to finally have our dad be laid to rest. Fast forward to now, I also would like to thank Maria for assisting my mom and I for looking over payments that my mom has made electronically. My mom didn't understand something and she diligently looked over her payment history and explained to us exactly what was going on. She was very pleasant and was actually the first one to greet us when we entered the office. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because of all the people who have helped us. But, I decided to give this place 4 stars instead because I saw tire tracks on my dad's headstone and getting rid of our flowers every week even if it still looks healthy. I have never spent so much money in a month on flowers and would like All Souls to improve their regulations about flowers. I am so upset with the staff here at All Souls Cemetery. They provide only minimal surveillance cameras around the place and only had 2 security guards on duty. A silver SUV was parked across my car when it happened. After 29 minutes of visitation, I was upset to see my car window in shambles. I tried to reach out to the police, but without any form of surveillance they couldn't do much about it. I called the next day to speak to the manager in regards of the matter and was informed that they will call me back after the manager's meeting. I never got a call back and I'm assuming they just don't want to get held responsible for any damages to my car. They need to have better or more security as well as more cameras around the facility. I am the second victim as stated by one of the security guards that everting that helped me out. This is disgusting and this place needs to take their security level up a notch. Worst customer service/ administration. We made a contract a few months prior to my mother's passing. My sister was harassed by an employee the day prior for full payment or my mom was not going to have her service. My sister worried handed me the phone due to stress .He did not want to give his name and wanted to go pick up the money at our residence at 7pm while we were preparing for our mothers service. I put my foot down and told that individual no. That what he was doing was not right. We have a contract and that he needs to read it. (Contradicting information given by multiple individuals) . We were not going to do what he's asking. He backed off and never heard from him again, SHADY as F!!! Thankfully the individuals helping us with the service were beyond professional. That's why I gave a 1 star. We paid for a smooth service. Not the case , Nice try on bullying our family. read more

God forbid your dead loved one has prearranged their services with this place. My grandma was dying, it was an any day now scenario. My wife called to alert them that someone they had a contract with would be passing away soon, and was forwarded to leave a message. No call back for nearly a week. Multiple calls were placed, emails were sent. Still no reply. Eventually, three days after my grandmother passed, we had the secretary walk back and find someone to speak with us. They found someone who was unhelpful, having almost no information for us. This person told us they'd call us back the next day first thing in the morning. This did not happen. They didn't call us back the next day at all. I ended up leaving a message about seeking the means to legally break the contract the day after that. This got us a call back. The person who called us back proceeded to gather information about my grandmother, presumably about the death certificate. When they forwarded their notes to me, my grandmother's name was wrong, albeit close. Finally after two weeks of trying to get started making arrangements we have set a date for the funeral. After reading other reviews here, I just hope they actually burry her next to my grandfather, because their track record of digging up the wrong plot doesn't seem great. Thankfully my relationship to this nightmare rodeo will end come July. Update: Finally had a conversation with the mortuary people. That went well enough. But they were unable to do a joint phone meeting with both the mortuary and cemetery sides of things, so I had to schedule a follow up a week or so later with the cemetery people. This strikes me as an incredibly stupid business practice for this industry, but I'm not expert here, so fair enough. So here I am, a week later, sitting by my phone waiting for them to call at the appointed time, and of course they don't. I end up having to call them. I wish the church was as efficient at running cemeteries as it is as hiding pedophiles from consequences. Update 2: I've been informed that only five minutes of the funeral will be allotted to allow the family to eulogize the deceased. When more time was requested, the staff reported back that the request is offensive. When people say there's a special place in hell for someone, I am certain that special place is All Souls. Update 3: My wife just discovered that there's a class action lawsuit against the Los Angeles Arch Diocese for using money from "care and maintenance" fees to settle pedophilia law suits. In my brain fog I managed to call this place. They handled everything exceptionally well. In between tears, they took all my information, scheduled an appt, and I went in. I can't remember the woman's name but she was amazing. They do this everyday and I never felt like just another customer. I've been wanting to write a review but it's still very hard. I just want to remind you that while you are devastated and/or mad (you deserve to be), they are still a business and are trying to help you. Only the south entrance was open on Saturday. The line of cars to get in was extra long. It took forever to get in. I don't know why they would choose to do this on Father's Day weekend! But other than that I was able to visit with my dad and take him his beautiful flowers. I'm glad I was finally able to get inside. read more

I asked the ladies in the reception area and was told that on Sunday they do not have access to the data base of the grave sites. I was then told there was nothing they could do and I should come back another day. No compassion in their voices. This was quite upsetting. I've been coming here throughout the past 10 years to visit my grandpa. From the start we have been completely satisfied with all the help they provided especially since it was such a difficult time for the entire family. They helped to make the process easy. Every time I have been here the grounds are well kept and filled with tons of flowers from all the visitors. Especially during Christmas, it is so beautiful to see how people celebrate their family with tons of Christmas trees, wreaths, poinsettias, and beautiful flowers. My grandmother passed almost 2 years ago. We had purchased 2 plots side by side for my uncle and her. He passed back in 2000. After dealing with my grief I finally contacted the office to tell them they had placed her vase on my uncle's plot. I contacted them 3 times. She finally received her headstone. What I found was they took off my uncles headstone and placed it on her plot and put her headstone on his plot!!!!! I can't believe they are so incompetent that they would uproot a headstone from 2000 and move it to another plot!!! I had requested her vase to be placed in its correct plot, instead they decided to leave the vase on the incorrect plot and swap the headstones!!!!! Completely and utterly disgusted with this cemetery's protocol and lack of follow through. My father was buried back in Sept of 2020 and all while payments were being made and funeral services were being planned, they were available to address all of our concerns. Fast forward to $25,000 later and my father's services already taken place, 4 months after ordering his marker, still no sign of it. 4 work orders in and we still haven't had our requests being met... the marker, his area of the cemetery being cared for, extra care with the restrooms as they are the worst public restrooms I have seen to date. The fact that we have to request the basic from them at all is disappointing. Their excuse for everything is "inundated due to covid...". My family and I have been patient and understanding as this past year has been an exception in every way possible. But if customers are calling to check on statuses and being extremely understanding, why feel the need to continue to provide false information about the status. After several attempts by phone, I decided to personally go in this past Monday. Every single employee gave me the same excuse. Finally in the effort to make me go away, they claimed the marker was actually being delivered that same day, ironic isn't it? It's actually pretty funny because I was told when arranging for the marker that I would be contacted for approval on the design (never was contacted) and all of a sudden it was going to be arriving and would be placed that same afternoon. I didn't hold my breath given the history All Souls Cemetery has... and my gut was right. Wednesday and the marker was never placed... who knows if it was even received. The funeral services / cemetery / mortuary "businesses" have been booming this past year due to covid so you should be able to afford enough manpower to handle the requests. Yet there's about 10 people working outside to get your contracts going and upselling when apparently they claim to not have enough groundskeepers. Being inundated is NOT an excuse when sensitivity is involved. Not only was this awful cemetery extremely pricey but they have zero consideration or sensitivity for the grieving families. We recently went for a family viewing. The staff was very nice and helpful inside the viewing rooms. The grounds and parking lot are not kept up tho.There was a ton of empty alcohol bottles in the parking lot. And surrounding area does not looked kept up.I notice they had tons a security closing up the cemetery gates. I am sure they are making a ton of money durning the pandemic you would think they could make sure outside is cleaned and presentable. read more

I love how you can decorate for Christmas and Easter. So many beautiful mini Christmas trees were beautifully decorated and were seen throughout the entire grounds. I noticed the actual grass was completely dead. Not sure if it's because of the drought or not but it just looked not maintained. Some parts of the street need to be fixed too. Came in for a tour and Blanca was extremely nice and efficient and helpful. Rode the tram around the park and showed us what we needed to see. Two complaints: we have family buried here and the lawn is NOT kept up. Memorial markers have grass growing over them and we can't even find the flower holes most of the time. When you come twice a year and see things grown over and not kept up, it makes you think, why do they charge an endowment or maintenance fee when things are neglected and so badly maintained? Secondly, mausoleum is completely 100% sold out and they have no plans to build any more. Pretty dumb if you ask me. There is this thing called supply and demand. When you have no supply and demand by the people, build more wall crypts since you have the space and charge people a small fortune! Duh! read more
