Please pay attention to the buyer vs. service reviews and note how low the ratings regarding the Service Department are; they are accurate. (Go ahead and adjust the reviews to the lowest rating before proceeding. You will find the significant complaints/gripes confined to the Service Department) I have purchased three brand new vehicles from All-Star Ford since 2017 (i.e., not used). Negotiations on purchases have been standard, with quite a bit of back and forth, but in the end, I have always been satisfied with the final numbers. However, I have almost always had an issue with the Service Department, and after checking my invoices, texts, and emails, one name was always present, Service Advisor Andrew Penuela. As long as Andrew Penuela is an employee of the dealership, I will no longer purchase another vehicle from All-Star Ford. Service and maintenance are a requirement for a healthy car, and so are service recalls (which Ford has plenty of presently). Unfortunately, the many reviews mentioning Andrew's shortcomings are precisely correct. In all of my interactions with Andrew, I have not found a single one in which he has not lied in some way, shape, or form. From minor mistruths of keeping me in the loop during service or maintenance times, lying about performing services that, after checking, are not completed, to upselling and being deceitful about pricing for service, vehicle owners cannot trust him. I never thought about this when factoring in my new vehicle purchases (there have been many during my lifetime). But it makes sense to check and know how well others regard a dealership's service department, as you will be taking your car to it for service, maintenance, recalls, and warranty issues. And unfortunately, while I can give positives about the car buying experience at All-Star Ford Pittsburg, I cannot do the same for their Service Department. (Or more precisely, Andrew Penuela) I do not know why I always seem to encounter Andrew Penuela when there are other Service Advisors (via online communication or in-person). The one or two times I did not come upon Andrew, my experience was completely different and without a problem. My encounters were straightforward, and I usually expect them at any dealership where I have purchased a vehicle. And I know it has nothing to do with me as I am always cordial and respectful (just as I am with everyone I come across). I was at a loss for reasoning until I read numerous other reviews that mentioned his name. That is when I realized Andrew was the common problem. In my last in-person encounter, he was insulting, dismissive, and deceitful about service pricing (a common theme with him). I refuse to allow disrespectful treatment from anyone. If you want to make a wise buying decision, you will heed my advice and go to another Ford store. These are not custom purchases (although Ford is moving to that business model). It is not as if you will not find the exact make, model, and trim package of a new vehicle at another dealership, so avoid the inevitable headaches to come. Buyers (myself included) neglect to factor into the purchase process of the dealership's service department. The truth is Ford vehicles are once again not as dependable as after the 2009 bailout. I only mention this as you will consistently have to take your car in for reasons other than routine maintenance (which you can do at other dealerships and shops - the originating dealer typically performs warranty and recall work). And the chances of dealing with Andrew Penuela during your visits (if they are anything like mine) will be unavoidable. And I think that is something that All-Star Ford Pittsburg fails to comprehend. Again, I am warning potential customers. You will read the stellar reviews of salespeople (customers highly regard one in particular; you can trust those that name him), but an unavoidable part of owning a vehicle is maintenance. Do not just take my word; read the low reviews, and you will find one commonality - the Service Department and, more specifically, Service Advisor Andrew Penuela. I know the store will not care about the loss of a single customer, but after three new vehicle purchases in four years, I will not give them any further business. There are closer Ford dealerships to Danville anyway. However, I will reevaluate if someday Andrew is no longer working there (yes, my experiences with him have been that negative). I drove up and Andrew (Advisor) walked out to greet me. He was courteous, kind, knowledgeable, and thorough with his work. He kept me informed while the vehicle was being serviced and made sure I was aware that shuttle services were available for me. The best part about my experience was he gave me the option to either use my warranty or pay for the service out of pocket. My deductible was higher than the actual service so giving me the option was honestly surprising but very much appreciated. I got the call that my AC was fixed and my car was washed and ready. I returned the last time because a friend highly recommended Jimmy Jack. He was very nice and knowledgeable of the truck. I really liked this guy so this review does not reflect on him at all. I'm only leaving a two star review because of the price I was offered for my trade and the sticker price of the truck. They would not even budge from the sticker price. Zero negotiations. Two days later I went to the ford dealership in Walnut Creek and got the exact same model and options for almost 11k cheaper and 5k more for my trade from what this location offered. If I could give negative stars I would. Took my car in to the service department to get a diagnostic due to some faults/codes it had. Initial price was roughly $180. I get a call a few days later saying "we wanna dig further into this thing so we can figure out what the issue is". They said there'd be an additional cost of almost $200. I get a call from Tim maybe once a week for an update. Tim is a pretty good guy from what I've gathered from our interactions. So I tell Tim they can hold on to my car for as long as they need it as long as they get to the root of the issue. Fast forward 8 weeks later.....AND THEY STILL DONT KNOW WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH MY CAR! But yet I have to shell out $370 for time spent "looking at it". Now mind you I have a few modifications to my car that have been in place for over 2yrs and all they can tell me is "put it back to stock form and bring it back for another diagnostic"...... It took everything inside me not to lose it. I can't comment on the sales staff or the entire service department, but whoever they have doing maintenance on these vehicles should maybe pick another profession. My experience at All Star Ford made me feel like one! I knew when I got here I was leaving in a new car because it was on hold for me and tagged on the showroom floor. When I arrived as soon as they opened there wasn't a hoard of salesmen pushing themselves on me. My business belonged to Mike Wallace as I was working with him for a few days prior to my purchase. I can't say enough about Mr.Wallace he made the process of buying a car extremely simple. He was concise and clear as he described things to me. There was no terms to go over since I paid for the car outright. I also appreciate that he wasn't trying to sell me on things I didn't need. I do feel bad for Mr. Wallace because he was suffering from a migraine and you can see it. The worst car buying experience money can buy. If you want the opportunity to NOT negotiate on price, have zero customer service follow through, and then have them lose your spare key vs delivering it as promised, then this is the dealership for you. They are making it my problem, after two months of waiting for the key, to get it copied and maybe they'll reimburse us for part of the expense? From the manager, Carlos, down, once they take your money, you can expect to be treated like a disposable commodity. I do not recommend this dealership. When you make a mistake, just own it and do the right thing next time. Purchased a Used 2017 Ford Escape Titanium from All Star Ford. John Ahmadi and Cruz did their magic to get me a great deal. They were truly awesome to work with. There were some issues with the car that we didn't see until after I started to drive it off the lot. First, the rear view mirror was loose and didn't stay in place. John made sure that it was noted, so I wouldn't have any issues when I had to take it into the shop a couple of days later. As soon as I drove into the Service Department, they addressed the issue and fixed the mirror in no time, I was out of there within 15-20 mins. Another problem I had with the car...I had it not even a week and the Check Engine light came on. I set up an appt with the Service dept to bring it in. When I got there, Michael Boldischar let me know that they were swamped and I may have to leave it overnight. I wasn't too happy about leaving it....he then realized that I had just purchased the car from there a week ago and made it a mission to at least get it checked. Not only was Mike able to have the car checked...they were able to get it fixed and out of there in less than 90 minutes!!!! I was so relieved!! Now I can enjoy driving my new car!! I would have given All Star Ford 5 Stars, but let's face it.. I shouldn't have had any problems with the car at all to have to take it to get serviced twice in a week. We just bought a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 from this dealership. As for the car, we cannot be happier with the quality and are absolutely in love with our new car. However, I would like to review our experience at this dealership. At first, things were a bit rocky. We were told to come down to the dealership to put a deposit on the black version of the vehicle we ended up buying to ensure that we would have the first dibs when they finally received it (which was going to be within the next month). When we got there, they informed us they "don't do that" anymore and the guy that spoke with us before was new and misinformed. Seeing as how the drive is about 25 minutes and I was 38 weeks pregnant at the time, this was quite frustrating. But there is one person who turned this whole disappointment around for us. Steve "Hops" Hopkins... Considering how frustrated we were at that moment, it took a special kind of person to be able to win us back over, and he was definitely the man to do that. Hops made it his mission to get us first dibs on the car when it came in (and it came about 1.5 weeks early!) and he called us immediately when it arrived. Before we got there, he made sure it was cleaned and ready for us to test drive at our earliest convenience. He is a very active and energetic person, and from our first encounter with him he made us feel important and special, and as he always says, like "he works for us." He helped us get the price we wanted, he was extremely attentive to our 3 year old daughter (who he was great with) and that also made our experiences there so much more smooth because she was entertained and not miserable during our negotiations. On the day we ended up buying our car, Hops came in on his off day to be there for us, and he didn't rush us in and out or anything. He was happy to help us every step of the way and stayed until everything was complete and we were 100% satisfied. Hops is exactly the kind of car salesman you want. He is upfront, helpful, and determined to win your business. He works hard and knows that these things aren't handed to people who slack off. He has these motivational signs in his office which shows he means business. If you are coming here to buy a car, ask for him. You will not be disappointed!! If I never come here again it will be too soon! TL:DR at bottom I drive a company truck and was told to bring it to All Star Ford for service. I need the smog done for registration reasons. I call and make an appointment for the smog check. I bring it in at 9am on Tuesday morning and tell the service advisor that I need a smog check done, tires rotated, and (since it's a fleet vehicle) whatever service is on the maintenance schedule. I leave my information, leave my keys, and head into work. I don't receive a call about my vehicle at any point in the day. I call at 2:30 and ask about the status. The advisor says it'll be done around 4:45- 5:00. I head over at 4:45 and ask about the status. It's not done yet, should be another 20 minutes or so. Okay, I wait in the lounge. An hour goes by and a service tech asks me which vehicle I'm waiting for. I tell him, and he says it'll be around 20 min. Yeah, okay... I wait some more. Now it's 6pm. A sales person comes up to me and asks if I'm waiting for service. I say I am and they tell me, you might want to go ask about it because they're closing up the service desk. I go back to service and ask about my vehicle. Advisor says he didn't know anyone was still waiting! He talks to service techs and they bring out my truck. But because they're 'closed' they can't give me a copy of my receipt. I asked what was done and he says they changed my tranny fluid and filter/gasket. Did a multi point, and rotated my tires. I asked if they did the smog. Advisor said he can't check in the computer system (IDK why) but he assumes it is and that that info was sent to dmv electronically. He then says that they can email a copy of my receipt/work order the next day, since they'll be open. Okay, it's late, but I can finally go. I don't hear anything from them the next day. I'm busy at work and can't make it in to the dealer to get my receipt. The next day comes and my coworker calls me and tells me: I brought a truck i to the dealer for service and they said they didn't do the smog on your truck! I'm able to make it to the dealer today. I go inside and ask for my receipt. He says they can do the smog now, but I decline. (I had it done somewhere else after my coworker called me) he gives me my paper work and I leave. I brought it in for one specific service and they couldn't do it. Nor could they tell me that they didn't get a chance to co plate it. The lack of communication is ridiculous. I realize it's a fleet vehicle and they're going to do whatever service they can (that's approved by corporate) so they can make their money. But it's the lack of follow through and actually listening to their customer when they're there in person! Take the time to drive to Brentwood, Concord, or Walnut Creek if you need dealer service. Took my car in for a ABS brake job. They Had my car for 3 weeks. Drove off the lot and my check engine light came on, mind you my car didn't have a check engine light on Prior. Was running rough which didn't run like that before. Take it to O'Reilly to run a diagnostic test and tells me it's my catalytic converter. Take it back to the dealership and told them why all of a sudden my car is running rough and now has the check engine light on and they said same thing it's the catalytic converter mans quoted me $2700 after I paid over $2200 for my ABS brake job . I just find it so ironic that you have my car for 3 weeks for a ABS BRAKE issue and now my car needs a catalytic converter and stalls when the car is running in park . Something smells fishy here. Catalytic converters are a hot commodity on the streets and getting stolen out of cars all the time (wink wink). I trust my gut and know my car was running fine except for the ABS issue and now having issues. How many of you had taken you car take there for some service and now have other issues?? I recommend not taking your car there, take to Bill Brandt in Brentwood or Walnut Creek. I wonder if they have camera on the areas the mechanics work. Just completed a deal with them which would qualify as one of the most hassle-free experiences I've had in 12+ years of car-buying. Chris told me that I was buying a three-year extended warranty or 150,000 miles he said it was on top of the three years that comes with the warranty on the truck . Some time goes on I want to say two years and I have 60,000 miles on my truck so I go in and say I have an extended warranty come to find out Chris sold me an extended warranty that was not through Ford But some other company . So it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have a whole bunch of things go wrong with my truck so every time I bring my truck in I need a rental they don't cover the rental unless this place approves it which they never did. I bought my truck in February 2018 it's May 2021 my rear end is going out in my truck now I just find out that I only have three years or 150,000 mile warranty not the three years on top like Chris said so I have a call-in to Stacy.H to see if she can help me . I will say this Stacy H there's always help me when when had problems. If anyone reads us and it has gone through some trouble at all star Ford contact her she's one of the few people there that actually can do something and help out. I will make another review and let you know if they help me out on my rear and going out. Just make sure to Look over and ask who your extended warranty is through. We found a 2022 Ford edge pretty much what we were looking for except it was quite a bit overpriced compared to other vehicles from other dealerships that were the same year same model less miles and a lower price. after haggling with the finance manager for several hours playing Shell games they finally said look but the interest you're paying you probably better off getting into a new car which we agreed except for one thing they didn't have the car I'm a lot that we were looking for that was comparable to the used car that we considered buying so they went looking at another Ford store to see if they had what we were looking for and they did so they said you can make a dealer trade after getting all the numbers straight and agreeing on a price there was one thing left to do and that was go home and get the checkbook which we told the salesperson that we would return in a few minutes when we got home we tried to call them to let them know that we were on our way back and to please go get the car it was in Tracy the tried calling the salesperson twice they pick up the phone or return our call for a couple of hours at that time the sales man asked had we made a decision on the car. Awesome experience! I traded my car in and the car I wanted in return was a little tough to get but Robert (my sales dude) was awesome! Took my van in for an AC compressor to Ford in Pittsburg they gave it back to me with a new sound then they took it in the back and diagnosed it then I paid for it and got it fixed and it's still making the same noise they refused to help me and give me my money back for the alternator that didn't need to be replaced guess they'll be hearing from my lawyers oh and thank God the bank gives me my money back. Brian on the phone was way too pushy. Tried to get him to give me a price over phone or email and he just would not do it. He kept saying just come in and he will beat any deal. Then when we went back to discus it hours later she took our paperwork and then said she lost it. LIES!!!! LIES!!! Do not trust her...... Go to another dealership that stands by their word and doesn't play games.... She took our papers and all of sudden has amnesia then wanted to have an attitude with us. LADY!!!! I've given this place so many opportunities to make things right. Always a Fail! From brand new tires going flat the very next day to not being able to figure out a simple task like cleaning interior panel of back window when I specifically asked for that to be done ( this was free detail they promised after not installing tire correctly and causing me yet another 8 hr wasted time for them to correct things) SERIOUSLY and act as if because it's FREE it should not be done correctly. Even told me smudges on windows are because it needs warm water and vinegar. WTH? If they can't detail a car....guess their promise of a detail is worthless as my 9 yr old grandson could have done a better job! That is NOT an exaggeration! I actually had to make an APPOINTMENT a week ahead for this crap. I give up. Crappy Crappy service that's a waste of time. Today they had my vehicle for 7 hrs for an oil change and car detailing and still couldn't get it right. I'm done. Sry but not once, twice not three times not four....this has gone on since car was purchased brand new. I could go on and on and about the times I've had service done and changes made to my vehicle and not for the positive. They messed my computer system up and I've lost ability I had for auto locking system and alarm. This place is a MESS....do not trust them. 5 service managers in 2 years. Does that say something? Brand new state of the art service department and can't keep a manager for much more than a few months. I think if these are Ford trained techs then Ford lacks in all ways.
