We ordered the La Toscana (subbed truffle honey for the Calabrian Chili Honey) and the size itself is nice for one person (although it can be split). The ingredients were nice quality especially the cheese. Big fan of focaccia bread so that's what drew us in. The flavors were there since we subbed for spicy honey. You are getting a specific style of an Italian sandwich and they do that well but for some the price with quantity is okay.

After coming to this sandwich shop a few more times, I now consider one of my favorite spots to get a sandwich. I have always gotten great friendly service here. That with get getting great sandwiches keeps me want to come back. My coworkers also love this spot and we often times get sandwiches to share so we can try more of the menu. Right now, my favorite is the LA PARADISO . This is located in the Farmers Market so the vibe is very casual and chill.

I finally -- FINALLY -- made it to All'Antico Vinaio after seeing countless online videos of people eating sandwiches "to die for." The only thing in those videos larger than the sandwiches are the crowds lining up, so I was happy to see just a few people waiting at the cozy counter inside the Farmer's Market. This stall, right inside the main entrance from the front parking lot, was inherited from a venerable BBQ spot that occupied the space for decades, but the new owners have scrubbed it clean and there's no lingering hint of hickory to affect the shop's signature spreads cooling inside pristine white cases. I ordered the Paradiso: Mortadella with Stracciatella (the gooey inside of a burrata without the shell to hold it together), Pistachio Cream and Crushed Pistachios. It's their biggest seller, and with good reason. Cradled on fresh baked, piping hot Focaccia, these 4 relatively straightforward ingredients somehow combine to make a transformative bite. It literally stops you in your tracks as your tastebuds register what's going on and activate the pleasure centers of your brain. It's a big sandwich. They all are. Easily shared by 2 or more, especially if cut into smaller pieces and mixed & matched with other sandwiches. Alas, I was dining alone, so this wasn't an option, but I will absolutely be coming back very soon with others in tow to begin sampling the menu top to bottom. As always, seating at the Farmer's Market is communal and can be crowded depending on when you're here. But the Market's staff does a great job of clearing tables and quickly turning them over as people depart. Don't forget to validate your parking when you grab your sandwich -- and don't arrive without an appetite, because these sandwiches require some space your tummy will be happy to provide.

Solid Italian sandwich spot located at the Farmer's Market by the Grove. I ordered the La Schiacciata Del Boss and it was pretty good. It was pretty much just bread, meat, and truffle spread. The meats were nice and smoky and I liked the savory truffle cream. I wish there was a little more filling though. The bread wasn't super fresh, but still good. It would've been nice if the sandwich could also contain cheese and fresh veggies. I even overheard another customer asking if they can modify their sandwich and would be willing to pay extra, but the staff declined. I think this should be something to consider so people can customize their sandwiches. Since this spot is located at the Farmer's Market, there's also lots of tables and seating around, but the area can get pretty packed. Overall, decent. Not the best I've ever had, but still good.

In LA for just one night for a rave, we found ourselves exploring the Grove for the evening. The food options in the market were plentiful, but not wanting anything too heavy for the night we went for these delicious looking Italian sandwiches. They were fresh, filling, and reasonably priced for the portion. High quality meats and cheeses, with an abundance of the toppings. Incredible flavors, the pistachio spread was top notch. Would definitely come back again to try another one of the many sandwiches they offer. Nothing but positive things to say about the food itself. The only thing to comment on is the process of securing one of these sandwiches. I loitered under the "order here" sign for a couple minutes while the employees worked on sandwiches. No one greeted me, asked what I wanted, or any acknowledgment. It's not a big place, it's literally a six foot long counter stall. Eventually after I made extensive eye contact with one of the employees and said "can I order?" did I finally get the process rolling. Then about five minutes later I was handed my sandwiches and on my way. Only I hadn't paid yet... So I initiated, telling the cashier I still needed to pay. I wasn't alone in the confusion/weird process here. The guy before me also grabbed his sandwiches and told the guy "I still need to pay". The people who ordered after me also awkwardly stood around figuring out how to start a sandwich.

Hard to find but worth the search, such a good sandwhich

Five stars! This place is definitely hard to find, but don't let that stop you. It's absolutely worth the search. The bread alone is worth coming for. Fresh, delicious, and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. I ordered the New York, and it was excellent. Great flavor, perfectly made, and exactly what I was hoping for. The food, experience, and quality made the extra effort of finding the restaurant completely worth it. I would 100% come back again and highly recommend it to anyone considering giving it a try.

Service is quick and the food is really fresh. I got the LA Summer and LA Paradiso sandwiches, and both were so good, the flavors come together perfectly. The schiacciata was fresh, warm, and perfectly crispy, which made the sandwiches even better. It's located in the farmers market, so it can get pretty busy and a bit loud with people walking around, but there tables nearby to sit and enjoy your food. The setting gives off a lively, bustling vibe that fits well with the market atmosphere. The staff is friendly, and the overall experience was quick and easy.

I love a good sandwich, so when I walked up to this shop and saw signs claiming they were voted "best sandwiches in the world," my expectations were high. That's a bold claim. I ordered the LA Numero 1 -- porchetta and gorgonzola on schiacciata (a focaccia like bread) -- two ingredients I genuinely love. The guy at the counter was friendly, and the sandwich was ready within a few minutes. So far, so good. Then I unwrapped it. Right away, it was obvious the sandwich looked nothing like the photos on their website or the ones plastered around the shop. The porchetta was sparse -- barely covering the bread and nowhere near hanging off the sides like advertised. It was disappointing, especially given the hype and price. The schiacciata itself was excellent, and the gorgonzola spread was flavorful, but the meat-to-bread ratio was completely off. I kept thinking that Subway puts more meat on their sandwiches and charges a fraction of the price -- not a comparison you want when you're positioning yourself as "the best in the world." Bottom line: good bread, good flavor, but seriously skimpy on the main ingredient. With this much hype and these prices, it needs to deliver a lot more than it did.

What an amazing sandwich!! I tried a similar sandwich from the other italian sandwich shop at the grove and this one is WAY better. I tried the Paradiso and I understand why it's the most popular option. Packed with flavor from simple ingredients. It's savory with a hint of sweetness. The bread is absolutely amazing. If you're paying $20 for a sandwich, it has to be superb.

I've been looking forward to trying All'Antico Vinaio for years. It's great that there are multiple locations around LA now! My family & I recently went to the farmers' market location next to the Grove. At around 12:15pm on Sunday, it was busy, but the queue moved quickly. You order at the counter and the staff prep the food in front of you, giving the casual vibes and deli experience. Luckily, we found a table nearby while waiting for our order. If we couldn't find a table, then we would've taken our food to the plaza outside of the market, where there are some benches. We ordered La Favolosa ($19) and L'Italiana ($19). La Favolosa was salty, savory, and slightly spicy; and the pecorino cream really stood out to me. L'Italiana was my fave; it was creamy, nutty, and little oily from the sun-dried tomato, but all of the components meshed so well together. Both sandwiches had great bread and quality ingredients. One half of a sandwich was a filling lunch for me. We toasted the other halves of our sandwiches in the evening, which tasted just as good. We'll definitely come again - or visit another All'Antico Vinaio location - when we get a chance!

I came here today around 1:15pm when there was no line to order and figured it wouldn't take too long to get my food since it didn't appear too busy at the time. Boy was I wrong! I ordered the Venice Beach and it took 25-30 minutes for them to make my sandwich. There appeared to be only one lady making the sandwiches. I felt bad for her as clearly she was trying to keep up and even when she made several sandwiches at the same time it still wasn't fast enough. There was a rush of orders after mine. The lady next to me was also frustrated it was taking so long as she also had somewhere to be as I did (I had to pick up my daughter from school and did not anticipate such a long wait). The sandwich was very good and a nice sized portion (can definitely be shared between two people) , but I would not go there again without placing my order beforehand. This location is new but the amount of time it took to get a sandwich is unacceptable and my advice is if they don't hire more help it's going to sink their business. Very few people in LA are patient enough to wait that long for food and specially at the Farmer's Market where there are many great choices for food.

Pretty good sandwich. Nothing super outstanding about it but it was decent and pretty big. The workers were nice and the sandwich came out fairly quick. Probably wouldn't come back again but can't complain!

Wow I love how soft, fluffy, and fresh the focaccia was and the combination of truffle cream with pecorino and prosciutto was really unmatched. The bread is a little bit greasy but it also has a slight crisp. One of my favorite sandwiches. Everything tasted really high quality and a single sandwich is HUGE and enough to fill up two people when splitting. If you come during lunch time, it might get busy but the line moves pretty fast and there is ample seating in the market.

Is this place still open? We stopped by two days in a row around 8:30 and 6:30 to find it closed.

The restaurant is billed as French-Vietnamese and previously offered pho and related fare but did not have these options on our visit. Our family came on a Saturday evening after an afternoon in the mall. I got the Ahi Tuna burger ($18), a substantial slab of Ahi Tuna steak on a bun with a wasabi mayo and paired with perfectly crispy, well salted frites ($5). We also got the French lobster roll ($26) a decent, but not groundbreaking, sandwich with a spicy sauce. One of our children got the tomato soup ($10) which was phenomenal - creamy and tomatoey - and paired well with grilled cheese. The cafe was clean and positioned with a great view; service was good too, with the waitress making suggestions and accommodating our children's special requests. Prices, as listed above, were excellent for the quality and quantity of food provided in an otherwise quite expensive area. More Parisien then Indochine, Nicholas deserves the unusually high rating it commands for the area. FOOD Bubble Waffle with Pistachio Gelato (5.5/5): Omg! I didn't know they have egg waffle here as well. It's a classic Hong Kong street food that I grew up with, you don't really see it around. The egg waffle is tasty, it doesn't taste bland and not overly seasoned (it has the egg custard-y taste, not too sweet), and it has a light crisp outside. I had a gelato to pair with it. The pistachio flavor is yummy, it has chopped pistachio nuts inside so the texture is rich. If you have a sweet tooth, pair it with a scoop of gelato, they compliment each other well. *finish the gelato first so it doesn't make the egg waffle loose it's crisp Pastrami Brisket Sandwich (5/5): They recommended me the Pastrami Brisket Sandwich and the prosciutto one, I haven't had lunch so I went with the pastrami- it was good. The bread is pretty soft and it's decently portioned, you could share the sandwich. It's a simple sandwich that's healthy and flavourful, you don't feel heavy after eating it. I like that it's not messy to eat (not overly saucey)! They hold the fillings with the little wooden sticks.
