Contracted this company to remove asbestos from the ducts in our attic space. While they mostly did the job there were a number of issues that left us pretty frustrated. As they started their preparations, they began by sealing up the duct vents. Instead of simply taping them, they started using a stapler to close plastic over the vents. This obviously caused a ton of damage with a LOT of staples applied per vent (some had over 10 staples), including in ceilings, requiring patching and full ceiling repainting. One of the team seemed to be actively doing a lot of the work in the attic space, while one guy spent a ton of time outside in the shade, or on his phone watching the baseball. He even showed me the game he was watching as he was meant to be working... After the work was supposedly completed, they just left, leaving the plastic over the vents. The problem was that the job wasn't done - the plastic over the vents were not removed and so were not properly cleared. When I came along to remove the plastic and damage, I noticed asbestos tape still in the ducts. Great. So I finished their job for them, that we paid $1,800 for btw; vacuumed each vent out and finished the job. Was not impressed at all, certainly not at having to finish the job I contracted them to do with regard to asbestos abatement, and then patch and paint afterward. To say we are very disappointed with this job is an understatement. Update: Called Elena per her request who assured me that the sales person would be in touch to make it right. He handle everything with care and had amazing communication with me from the start, he even let me know that he let his supervisor know when he was complete and if there was any other items they could hall away for us, they would get in contact with me. Jeremy was fantastic during the initial consult and professional/up front regarding costs before and during the process. The homeowners got sticker shock from the abatement cost, but removing hazardous material isn't cheap. There's no way around it. The insurance covered it, but Jeremy didn't jack the price up when he found out about the insurance. All parties worked together to get this claim covered. My photos and his communication were good enough that the adjuster didn't even have to send their folks out for estimates. The staff at Stanton followed through with speed and cleanliness. 4 guys showed up and were completed in about 5 hours in a 22x16 room plus an entry. Recently we discovered a slow leak originating from the water heater that had developed and created water damage in a house we own in Irvine that is currently being rented.
