This was the worst experience I have ever had. Complete SCAM!!! First, the actual quote was twice the amount originally quoted. Next, it took over 40 days to actually receive my stuff. They fail to mention that when you first call. Completely unacceptable. Not to mention that some of my expensive items never actually made it to my house. Never to be seen again. Next, four of my boxes had mold growing on them. YES MOLD. Because they were left out on the rain. All of the contents were ruined. Really upsetting. When I called to find out, they told me to file a claims report which takes anywhere from 30 - 90 days. SMH. Spend a little more a get a better credited company. I was pressured into signing a contract within minutes of getting on the phone. Then I was told certain things were going to happen ( quality assurance call 3 days prior to them showing up etc). That never happened. It was miserable and stressful getting answers from them or having them answer questions. The estimate I agreed to and the final price were wildly different. I did not get the final price until everything was on the truck and I couldn't change it. I feel very taken advantage of. A rep from Alliance came to our home to give an estimate, which was higher than competitors, but he explained that they are more conservative and account for potential hours to finish packing boxes if necessary. He also recommend we get our own materials and finish packing as much as possible to reduce cost. There are no hidden fees, just labor and materials. On the day of the move, the guys were on time, wore their masks the whole time, and were extremely efficient. We moved within Chicago and they finished two hours ahead of schedule. I'd review no stars if I could. I would strongly advise against Alliance. Their "estimate" is not an estimate, although they'll have you send over a full inventory, they'll respond deceitfully with their minimum charge only, not an estimate. On the day of the move, our foreman provided an "estimate" of moving material, which again was a minimum. He went through no information about "renting" vs "buying" material until the move was complete. They went into my storage facility behind another car, knowing I would let them in, and CHARGED me for the 30 min I was waiting for them outside the gate, not knowing they went in. Trust me, you can find WAY better movers who are HONEST. I've been trying to work this out with them and they tell me I'll get a "call back within the hour" and I never hear back (happened twice), they accused me of saying "roughly 20 boxes" in my estimate (I had 23...). Just bought a house and sold our condo...we will be displaced for about 8 days and had no idea where to start with movers, storage and moving from our current home and into our new home. Thought about getting a few friends a POD for the storage and invite friends back over to unpack but we all know how that goes. We called 3 different companies for quotes and Alliance Moving and Storage surpassed my expectations!! I called and scheduled a free estimate with Jaggy and had Carlos come out that Friday. Carlos knows his stuff, very knowledgeable, took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. Tiffany was also amazing taking my phones calls and addressing all my questions and concerns. Marcos R., Jaime and Carlos Camacho were my movers who came out, gave me a call on the way, and went right to work. What a hard working bunch of guys. Very polite, efficient and know what they are doing. The guys are very tidy, clean up after themselves, and take pride in what they do, you can just tell. I actually called Alliance and let them know what an outstanding group of workers they have and requested to have them come back to move and unpack my belongings when we move into the new house. Hire someone else!!!!! The last time I moved two years ago it was a company that charged leaving from Chicago to AH plus they made an additional stop for me in Highland Park. The total was $337. When I moved this time I went with Alliance as they quoted $370 and were rated well (for a 6 mile move from Schaumburg). I tacked on an extra $100 in the budget as estimates aren't totally accurate. I was charged $650!!!! This was after they rounded up the time by 30 minutes and charged me an additional $105 for 4 boxes, two of which they took back, some wrap for a queen bed and couch as well as some tape of which they left the empty rolls scattered all over my old place (where one of the movers peed all over the toilet and the floor too!) The head guy said I would need to take it up with the office. I called and emailed and no one has responded to me. I'm appalled by how this company has treated me especially after I rescheduled due to the ice storm and didn't make a fuss about them breaking a few things. Movers showed up 6 hours late and were extremely rude. They charged 50 dollars for plastic wrap. Boxes and furniture that were not wrapped were coated in dust from the filthy truck used that got all over our apartment and into boxes that had handles cut into them. The movers were great, the owner Jiggy was a complete $&@);: He told his workers that they would be moving a two bedroom home instead of a 5 bedroom home at 2:30 pm which meant they had already done a move in the morning. Even though I had sent him a list and was quoted for that list. I despise people that abuse their employees and this was surely the case here. On the list was a huge tool box and a very heavy safe that I told him could only be moved with a truck with an elevator. He sends a truck with a ramp the movers nearly broke their backs putting them in the truck. This move was the job for 5 movers he sent 3 and under false pretenses telling them they would be done earlier, it took them 7 hrs plus whatever time the earlier move took them. at the end for payment, he didn't want a personal check. It was cash or credit card. I told him he had two choices one take the check or come back tomorrow for cash. he took the check after half an hour going back and forth. He probably thinks that everyone is like him that I would bounce a $1200 check after moving into half a million dollar home. Unbelievable, never using them again. read more

The move on Apr 27 started good at old place. Things were wrapped up before being taken to truck,etc. The first worrisome concern was that a regular hammer was used to help pound the legs off the the grand piano leaving numerous circular dents on the inside of each leg, especially one that didn't come off easy. A rubber mallet should have been used, not a regular hammer. We knew at this point, we should have used a regular piano mover and not allow them to handle this. This was mentioned to the foreman who said those marks were already there. (We never did bring this up the the company). At the new place, towards end of moving stuff in, I noticed that the glass half of the base of a modern coffee table hadn't been moved in yet. When I questioned the foreman, he said it's coming. As time went on this piece never appeared and finally the foreman said it was dropped and broken when unloading it from truck. It was apparently dropped much earlier but the foreman delayed telling us; not good. After the move was complete, we noticed that a piece of laminate near the bottom of a custom modern buffet type cabinet was broke and hanging loose. We informed Raj, who we believe is an owner/partner, office manager or similar, for the business. Replacing the table (with something totally different as not made anymore) plus an estimate to repair the buffet unit was about $875. Raj did give us $500 to help defray the costs, but the damage shouldn't have occurred in the first place. Would not recommend or use again. read more

Alliance was the best moving experience, from the first phone call to the final handshake. I found them using Thumbtack, and within the first hour of submitting my request, I was contacted by Phyllis to schedule an on-site estimation. We scheduled a date and time that worked, and on that date, right on time, they showed up and gave me a very thorough in-person review of everything I'd need packed and shipped. They were the only moving company who came out for an in-person estimate (others either just wanted a list of things, or did a "virtual" estimate, but Alliance went that extra miles to really see for themselves what we needed to move, helping us feel confident we were on the same page for the quote.) We had a special situation that would spread our move out over several days, requiring us to store items on their truck (essentially locking up one of their trucks for a couple nights, preventing them from using it) and they offered me a very reasonable quote for all the services, including storage. We called no fewer than 6 other moving companies, and despite other companies having more "word of mouth" recommendations from friends, nobody was able to meet or beat Alliance's service and quote - and this was even BEFORE any actual moving started. We just felt the most comfortable and cared for with Alliance, so we went with them. Absolutely no regrets - they made what was a stressful move into a breeze. The team came in, packed up everything that was odd-shaped like lamps and mirrors, and were very careful with my already-packed delicate items and breakable kitchen stuff. They had our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom (3rd floor WALKUP) condo cleared out within 4 hours, and with smiles on all of their faces. They even were so sweet to our two dogs; I even loved the shirts they wore that said "If your dog doesn't like someone, maybe you shouldn't either" or something like that - well, our dogs were very comfortable with them despite the stressful situation of strangers taking away all of their stuff! That's how you know they're good guys :) Two days later, they rolled up again, and had our new house moved in within 3 hours again. The final bill came in under-budget and 100% perfect - nothing scratched, broken, or damaged. I would recommend Alliance to anyone looking for movers who care, who really focus on customer service from start to finish, and who really go that extra mile to make your move less stressful. I have moved several times throughout my life (within a state and across state lines), this was by far the smoothest and best moving experience I have had! I will be using Alliance again next time I move and I highly recommend you use them too!! I scheduled the move with Alliance through the Yelp App. I received the quote within minutes, it was very detailed and transparent. I called the office and followed up with a couple of the employees there and got the ball rolling. I had to change the date of the move and the destination. The team accommodated the change without any issues or amendments to the quote. The day of the move, was when I was most impressed. The three member team showed up on time, was very professional, easy to communicate with, pleasant to work with, knowledgeable about their job, and fast but careful. They were even able to disassemble and reassemble an industrial sized treadmill in record time!! The entire move was completed within the agreed upon time frame with only a minor hiccup. One chair got slightly damaged during the move, the movers and the customer service group with Alliance were very transparent about it and professional. Worst company ever! Borderline scammers. Justin was the worst. We were quoted 1100 cubic feet and quoted 6100 for the move. The movers showed up and stated we actually needed 2500 cubic feet and the total move would cost 18000! We could not afford it at that point so we just asked for a refund of our 2000 dollar deposit. 4 weeks later no one in customer service was helpful, was hung up on, promised a call back that never happened. They concluded that we refused their service because we could not afford to pay 18K and that the deposit is non refundable lol like what????Don't do it people! read more

Contacted them to set up a move for my mother. On initial phone call told them everything that would be moved and they gave a quote. We accepted it now let's fast forward to today. Upon arrival my mom calls me and lets me hear the conversation between her and movers. She greets them with a Good Morning and one of them doesn't say anything she then ask is everything ok and he says no bad morning. They go upstairs then he tells her look it'll be $25 per Tv well that wasn't on quote so she told him that and I'm between she's telling me that they want extra money on phone. The man says I'm not doing the move then leaves. This is the most unprofessional shit I have ever witnessed. My mom is older and this company has committed to getting her moved on her scheduled move out day to show up with a bad attitude then cancel on her because she stated that she did not know it'll be an extra charge. Then I called manager he tells me the guys were sworn at which my mom not one time swore at them. The manager Jeff pretty much didn't care about them cancelling or providing terrible customer service. I don't recommend this company to anyone if this is how they treat customers!!! I expected more from Jeff being the manager and he did nothing nor did he care!!! This is a piece of shit moving company DO NOT USE THEM!!! Did not hire bonded movers. Did not provide the staff or trucks agreed to in multiple conversations. Sent one truck/3 crew for long distance move who demanded we pay in cash or money order - no cashier's check or personal check or credit card. Had 2 additional estimates for agreed amount. Crew they sent demanded additional $5,400 or they would not move us. Then the company would not refund our deposit when we would not pay the extorted amount. They said we "reneged" on the contract. This was a new experience for us as it is the first time we chose to use a moving company for or move. We did a lot of searching online and getting quotes became very confusing, with certain companies charging for different truck costs, add on fees, etc. Alliance Movers came recommended to us by our niece, they said they were very happy with the moving experience. I called for a quote and talked to Jeff, who was very personable and helpful answering questions for us being that this was a new experience for us. My niece's husband said their 4 man crew really hustled. We must have had the same crew because he wasn't kidding, our crew really did! Alex G., the crew foreman, kept us in the loop and made sure they got exactly what we wanted them to move. The other members of the crew,Caledonia, Benny,and Raul M. , were friendly and remarkably efficient. We were quoted an estimated time of 6 hours, and our crew finished 45 minutes early, and with the charge prorated for every 15 minutes, saved us a little money as well. Though they were very fast, they were not sloppy. We have no broken or damaged items during the move and we were pleasantly surprised how smoothly the move had gone. Would highly recommend Alliance movers and hope not to have to move again, but if we had to would use Alliance again.I wanted to make sure I mentioned every member of the crew because each deserve credit for their hard work. Jeff responded to my request for a quote within minutes. He called the day before the move to confirm and called again after the move to make sure everything went well. I had my stuff moved out of storage into my place and I hired these guys. They were about 10 minutes early, which was nice. I watched them take the items out of the storage unit and they were polite, sometimes saying funny and joking things, they made me laugh. Very nice guys. Then I followed them to my place and they parked nearby and unloaded all my stuff. They helped me open all the boxes and throw them out for me, so that was nice.
