Clothes at Alo are on the pricier side, but it is high quality and will last a long time! The customer service truly justifies and reflects the price! I'm very surprised with the negative reviews because I had an amazing experience at Alo Brea Mall. I came in on a weekday this week not expecting to purchase anything. I was a bit intimidated, and wasn't sure if my size would be available. I was greeted upon entry and started browsing. After a few minutes, Palmi came up to me and asked me if I needed any help. I was expecting standard customer service but to my surprise, Palmi went above and beyond with helping me find the right pieces and recommended items that were her personal favorites and as well as items that would work best with my fitness goals. She had a few girls help me as well with grabbing items. They arranged the fitting room for me and it honestly felt like a personalized styling appointment! She even grabbed me a pair of shoes and socks to try on to complete the look and get a feel for the clothes when I'd wear it. While I was in the fitting room, different sales associates came in to hand me new items to try on. Although there were a lot of different things pulled for me, I felt comfortable the entire time and didn't feel like I was being pushed to buy. Since gaining a lot of weight, I've been intimidated to go into clothing stores (especially ones fitness focused). However, Palmi and her team made me feel welcomed, and honestly was a great interaction in starting my fitness journey again. She made a great impact to my day and I truly had a wonderful experience. Her customer service is AMAZING and deserves a raise or promotion! I left with a few items and as well as a couple pairs of the cutest pink/white crew socks. Second time around coming into the shop at this location. Upon coming in they had a warm welcome in and provided suggestions and tips for styling with what I had in mind to shop for. I had no difficulty returning my online purchase for a better fit and left wanting to shop more with the helpful services they gave throughout the dressing room and check out process. Only problem I had was not being able to get my size due to sell out of items in store and online. But besides that, this shopping experience was great! read more

Every now and then, you come across one of the truly good ones. In this case, it was an amazing store manager--MJ at ALO. I called ahead because I needed help with an item, and before I made the long trip to Brea, MJ assured me they had what I needed and even placed it on hold for me. When I arrived, MJ was at the front of the store warmly welcoming customers. Within moments, she was on her headset requesting my item, verified my original purchase, and completed my exchange quickly and seamlessly. The entire process was effortless. Before I left, her staff took a few minutes to tell us about an upcoming event and even introduced us to a lotion they recommended. I'm glad they did--it worked great with my skin! Thank you, MJ, for what may have seemed like routine customer service to you, but truly felt like going above and beyond to me. This is a very nice, clean, well-organized, and fully stocked store. As my wife and I entered the store, we were greeted immediately by a young female employee. No pressure tactics, simply a "good morning and welcome to Alo". A simple greeting means a great deal to me. The selection of men's and women's clothing will make all shoppers happy, as you can find trendy t-shirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, hoodies, and much more. Every single employee greeted us and was extremely friendly while we shopped. This was originally a complaint I sent through email, but after reading the reviews here from others who had the same experience I did, I felt that my complaint should also be posted here. I just want to express my disappointment regarding the poor customer service I experienced at your Brea Mall location. I placed an order during your Aloversary event and was not aware there was a limited pickup window. I work graveyard shifts five days a week at a hospital, so I do not always have the time to constantly check my emails. What upset me most was the way your staff at the Brea Mall location approached me about the situation. I felt the interaction was rude, discriminatory, and lacking compassion. Unfortunately, this is not the first negative experience I've had at this location. I hope your staff can be trained to approach customers with more kindness, professionalism, and understanding. Review 42/365 challenge Came here on a Saturday 4.26.25 Located in the new Wing of Brea Mall. Store is really big and a lot of selections. Associate are nice and informative when asking for a particular item i was looking for. Store is organized and nicely well set up. Color coordination. They sell work out clothes and it is on the higher end price. But quality looks very durable. Definitely has a lot of foot traffic. A lot of my friends are excited about this shop coming to our local mall. Next to Alley boba shop not far from the newly open Uniqlo & Zara on the 1st floor. Parking here at the mall is busy especially since currently under construction of a new parking along with upcoming apartments being built here. read more

Worst customer service I've experienced at any Alo location. I've shopped at several Alo stores before, and the Brea Mall employees were by far the most rude and unhelpful. My friend purchased a sweatshirt from this same Brea location on Friday, gifted it to me on Saturday for my birthday, and I went Sunday morning to return it with the gift receipt and tags on it because I didn't like the color. The employees inspected it and claimed it was "dirty" and refused the return. There is absolutely no way it could have been worn or dirtied in less than 24 hours of having it. It was purchased, placed in the Alo bag, gifted to me in that same bag, tried on briefly, and taken off immediately. mind you it was not dirty at all (see photo). If anything, this suggests they are selling dirty merchandise and then refusing returns. I was so excited to finally have an Alo location closer to me, but after this experience, I don't even want to step into this store again because of the customer service. The staff was dismissive and rude throughout the interaction. I went to another Alo location afterward and was helped immediately with no issues. I stopped into the Brea ALO to return a pair of sweatpants for my girlfriend. She has a habit of buying stuff that she can't afford, being too embarrassed to return it herself and signing me up to take it back for her. The couple in front of me also had a return and were getting loud with the poor cashier. No tags. No receipt. No phone number. Manager gets called over and politely points out that the item isn't even real alo. The guy looks embarrassed and heads out but the girl he's with starts to get even louder with the manager. They open up an additional register and wave me over. The cashier apologizes for the customer and the wait. I hand over the sweatpants, give them my gf's phone number, and they credit it back to her card. No problem. The argument is still going on over there at the other register and as I'm leaving I'm thinking thank god I don't have to work in retail. Giving them 5 stars for the poor cashier that was visibly shaken and for the manager who was doing her best to deal with a customer that was clearly in the wrong. read more

I asked an employee whether a top was available in my size, and when I asked about another color, she responded with a very impatient and rude tone: "I already told you we don't have it." What made it worse was that I had already answered her earlier, but she walked away to talk to someone else and then came back asking me the same question again, while acting annoyed. I went it today 5/7/26 at 6pm (to narrow it down) for a return and it was an awful experience. I was returning a $54 sports bra from my $300 order, in which I had paid a combo of merch and $100 worth on cc... when the associate rang me up, she said that it was just giving her a merch credit option so she called in the manager. She told me it defaults as a merch and walked away. No helping, no attempting to override. I've been a store manager before and this is honestly pathetic. I would understand if my cc did not cover the $$ of the item but it more than fully does. I don't blame the associate because she was apologetic but the manager is something else. There was a long line so I didn't want to cause more of a fuss than my situation was already causing. For a luxury brand, do better. read more

This is the first time I've ever left a Google review--I'm not someone who goes around posting complaints. I bought a pair of leggings and a tank top through the Alo Yoga app as a gift for my friend in China. The sizes didn't work out, so my friend decided to return them. I chatted with customer service online, they sent me a prepaid return label, and they promised a refund four to eight days after the package arrived back in the U.S. I forwarded that label to my friend, who mailed the items back via international express from China. DHL, however, didn't use the label I provided, and after a lot of back-and-forth the package finally made it back to Alo Yoga. When I contacted customer service again, they were polite at first: asked for the order number and my account so they could look it up. But the moment they realized I wanted a refund, they started asking increasingly ridiculous questions. First they tried to shift blame, claiming the package should have been sent UPS. I pointed out that their own return label clearly said DHL, so that's what I used. Then they demanded the DHL shipping receipt, asked who had given me the return label, insisted I screenshot the email containing it, grilled me about what I bought and why I was returning it, and even claimed another customer had an identical order so I had to "confirm" this was the correct return. I had every piece of evidence they asked for, but in the end they simply refused to refund me unless I could produce the DHL invoice--even though I already provided the tracking number. I'm furious. I've never seen a store act this dishonestly. Customers returning items they're unhappy with is completely normal, and this wasn't a frivolous return on my part. Yet the company keeps hunting for loopholes to avoid issuing a refund. My friend and I will never shop there again. Everyone says big brands can bully customers, but this store isn't even that large and it's already pulling these stunts--utterly ridiculous. read more

Today I visited the Alo store at South Coast Plaza. Their customer service is on point! Every single employee working this morning were so nice, so helpful and so welcoming! Alo at Brea Mall is closer to my house but I will never return there again. Every single time I've walked into that store, the girls are so rude, so unwelcoming, they don't even acknowledge you. I have no idea how these girls got hired. The way they act you'd think they are owners of the store. Someone needs to remind them they are hourly employees and they should act as such. Came out 50 minutes to buy a hat for my grandpas birthday, checked the timings before hand to make sure I was coming at the right time since I get off of work late. I was surprised to see that closing time was 10pm but I trusted their timings because who else will set their business timings. I came exactly at 8:02 to find that they were closed, I even showed the worker that it says 10pm for their timings, but no apology or will make sure to fix that. I went to return a hair clip because it didn't not meet my expectations (my hair being too thick it won't hold it all) and the worker made me feel like I was returning it used but I explained to her that i bought two and the one I did use I kept and she questioned it saying oh you want to return this one but not that one. Based upon our recent experience, I believe this place has an extremely poor customer service model. We ordered an item online, and Alo sent us the wrong item. We attempted to rectify their mistake by visiting this location to conduct an exchange. The staff would not let us exchange it for the correct item, which was available and physically in stock. Then, they refused to allow us to simply return the item, void the purchase, and give us a refund. After finally speaking with the manager, we were finally allowed a refund. We initially tried to exchange it for the actual item we purchased online, but the manager wanted to charge us extra for it. A company like Alo, which somehow captured the zeitgeist of this generation, should try to be more accommodating to its customer base. Anyway, we used to buy a lot from here, but the quality of the clothes isn't the greatest. Colors fade and cotton fuzzies emerge only after a few washes. read more

I'm writing to express a concern about something I experienced in the store that made me feel extremely uncomfortable. It appeared that I was being watched and treated differently because of the color of my skin. While I was simply asking another employee for help, a manager (POC) came over, interrupted us, and continued to watch me closely in a way that felt unnecessary and targeted. I also noticed another customer being treated in an unusual way--after making a purchase, their $20 bills were scanned, and their shopping bag was held behind the counter. This isn't something I've seen happen with other customers, and the whole situation felt very off. It's upsetting to feel like I'm being racially profiled or assumed to be doing something wrong just for being there. Everyone who walks into your store deserves to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of their appearance. I walked into Alo today, July 21, 2025 around 1:00-2:00pm. I asked the girl in the front about a specific trouser. She responded with attitude as if I was bothering her. She rudely points to where I can find the trousers. Then I ask her about the espresso sweatpants. It was evident that she didn't want to be bothered. I went to the dressing room to try on the clothes. While I was in there, the door opens. In comes another employee. She looks at me and says, I knocked. Apparently, she didn't knock loud enough if even at all. Overall, this Alo store is terrible with their customer service. I called and spoke to the manager, Jacqueline. She said she's one of the managers and that she would talk to the girls about my experience. If you ever want to feel like you're walking into a Chanel boutique on Rodeo Drive, feel free to walk into this Alo store. They will make you feel less than nothing. I'm just shocked that their service was this terrible for such a new store in a brand new wing at the Brea mall. I stopped by the store on a Saturday afternoon and was immediately the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Right when I walked in, one of the guys just stared at me without saying hello or welcome . There was also this young girl with braces and long hair in a skirt who was had an off putting demeanor to her. She was not helpful and acted as if she was too good to help anyone. Overall, the store could really work on the quality of their employees. The cashier who checked me out was nice, though, so I want to give her credit. Besides that, they had a pretty good selection of clothes for both men and women, but I won't be going back. read more

All the associates here are so kind, friendly and very product knowledgeable. Store was very clean and well organized. My only issue is, I went in after receiving an ad for the 30% Site/Storewide Aloversary Sale and when I went in, I was told by the greeter that everything was 30% off. I went in and found what I was looking for and when I was ready to purchase at the register, I was told there are some items that are not a part of the sale and the bag I wanted was not on sale. This store allowed a stranger to come into their store and access my account and change my information on file with no proof of ID or anything. I have never been in this store ever. I got locked out of my online account and had to spend hours trying to get it restored. I called the store and asked to speak with a manager and was not allowed to do so. I feel it is outrageous they would let a random person access my account and change my information. The "assistant manager" said and I quote "I'm sorry you feel that way." Whaaaat? She was obnoxious and said "anything else I can help you with?" I said yes. You can let me speak to the manager. She said well you are going to have to wait about 2 1/2 weeks and giggled.
