One of our favorite stops! I'm so grateful that Aloha Mix Food Truck cafe exists in an otherwise quieter part of the island. We had planned to go to the Punalu'u Bake Shop and this food truck and were pleasantly surprised that they're just across the street from one another! After picking up some malasadas and admiring the garden plants came to this food truck, parked cheerily between a little store and home, with both a shaded eating area and a cornhole games set up in front of it. Unfortunately a few things were out of stock when we visited (no strawberries and burgers I believe) but we were still able to pick up a shrimp sampler plate and acai berry bowl to share (came out to ~$30). While we waited for our order, we enjoyed a spirited game of cornhole! About 15 minutes later our buzzer rang and our order was ready. We took it to the beach nearby to eat. The acai bowl melted quickly and tasted healthier and less sweet than most, if that's your thing! The granola was good. The shrimp plate was yummy with lots of sauce for the rice below (the best bites). We felt that the curry shrimp was the tastiest, the cajun shrimp a bit spicy, and the lemon pepper good but standard. A little fresh salad on the side was a good accompaniment.

So sad to have missed this food truck. We came on a Monday! So please take note of hours. The selections look very very good. Oh well, maybe in the future if we ever travel back. *Sorry was posting pictures of the hours and it led me to write a review. Just to be clear, I haven't had it yet but wanted to post pictures.

WOOOW I really can't describe the taste of this meal just made me wanna cry of how delicious it is !! 10/10!!! The service is great too! And I love how there's a lil shop next to the truck

We stopped here after visiting the black sand beach. This food truck is right across from the bakery (also delicious). The meat was already sampled in these photos and it was so good I was compelled to do a review. The steak was tender and had great flavor, cut in thin pieces. The shrimp varieties were excellent- a scampi like flavor, lemon flavor and the volcano flavor was a good balance/blend of spicy and herbs. Each meal is served with a salad and jasmine rice. The açaí bowl was the perfect consistency, it was flavorful and had great fresh fruit, granola and local honey on top. The tables and surrounding area were clean and peaceful while you ate your delicious lunch. The service was great and the food came out quick. I would definitely recommend stopping in when passing by their food truck. The hours are limited (11A.M. Until 3 P.M. I believe) so get a snack on your way in or out to the beach!

Everything we ordered was delicious. I very much enjoyed their sauce & spices used on the shrimp! I wish their surf & turf option was available but they had already run out of it when we arrived close to their closing hours. The prices are high but at least the food quality is there even though the quantity or amount they give you is little. Pick your battles, either over pay for little but delicious food or miss out on over priced little food thats delicious. Its just good I got to try them, i probably wouldn't get this stuff often bc of how pricey it is, but definitely would like to try their popular items at least once.

As in my first review, I give this place five stars every time, friends or family come to the island. I make sure to bring them here and they all want to come back for more. The lava shrimp is my favorite, but they are all really great. If you haven't already tried, this place make sure you do. The reviews speak for themselves.

I will forever have dreams about your garlic shrimp and salad with lilikoi dressing. The flavors smacked around my taste buds in all the right ways and I would gladly say this was one of the best meals I've ever had on the Big Island. Everything was made to order, reasonably priced and absolutely delicious.

Incredible food. Loved the shrimp sampler, all were delicious but the Lava shrimp were the favorite with great spice and flavor.

We went on a hike along the coast and then headed to this revered aloha mix food truck. All reviews mentioned that you cannot go wrong with any option on the menu, with highlights on the garlic shrimp, surf and turf, and finally the acai bowls. Immediately after opening the shrimp plate, you can smell the great garlic and butter fragrance while the side salad provided a nice contrast to the dish. Our friends opted for the full surf and turf (options: 8oz. for full, 4oz. for half). You could see a bright smile surface from cheek to cheek the moment my friend tried a piece of steak which is made with their in-house dry rub and USDA tipped steak. We really enjoyed this truck and recommend you to give them a try if you're in the area!

So good and definitely has inspired me to learn to make my own now that we are back on the mainland. First experience with an açaí bowl and will not be my last! Quick order process and very sweet people. Very cute little restaurant.

Very peaceful chill spot in a yard with delicious shrimp plates - we got their combo to try all 3 flavors! Also one of the best acai bowls I had on the island!

First off, their macadamia ice cream is really really good! Creamy, thick, sooo tasty! We also ordered: Epic Feisty Tacos - 5/5 - comes with three tacos and spicy sauce. The tacos are super tasty and perfectly balanced spicy, savory, tangy flavors. The lemon herb chik'n is also so good, you can't even tell it's vegan. The tortillas are a bit on the crumbly side, but still equally tasty as a taco bowl. Definitely would recommend this dish if you love spicy tacos! Epic journey nachos - 4/5 - the toppings on the nachos taste similar to the feisty tacos. The chips are more like baked tortillas with a crispy exterior and softer center. Journey Classic Crepe and Blueberry macnut crepe - 3/5 - The crepe itself was a bit thick, I'd describe it as more of a pancake than a crepe as crepes should be super thin. Still pretty good though all together, fruity and sweet. Latte with oat milk - 4/5 - a bit on the bitter side but not a bad latte! Asian salad - 4/5 - good salad, vegan meat is well seasoned and everything pairs well together. It wasn't very Asian tasting though, more like a Mexican-Asian fusion salad.

I particularly enjoyed their strawberry shake, which was so refreshing. I noticed that they also have a coffee one, which means I'll need to stop in again next time I'm in Kona. in spite of walking in during a busier time of day, service was quick both while putting in the order and waiting for our food to come out of the kitchen. The decor is a visually fun and engaging mix of greenery and art designed to keep diners feeling cooler in Kona's heat. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. Even if you're not committed to vegetarian or vegan food, there's a lot to like, especially if you're looking for something light, clean, and sweet.

Kona Coffee & Tea was the place of choice here in Kailua-Kona. Located at the Kona Coast Shopping Center, you can find this little coffee shop just next door from KFC. The coffee shop is easy to find, as other business surrounding this business is the KTA Superstore, Hele Gas Station, HFS Federal Credit Union, O'Reilly Auto Parts, as well as many numerous eateries. It was late in the afternoon, so I basically came here for some drinks. I had to try their Kona Coffee, and I must say it did not disappoint! The coffee shop has indoor, as well as covered outdoor seating. The shop does sell some food items, but I did not partake or looked at what they had to offer. There was also coffee shop merchandise, but I did not have time to take a look at what they had to offer. Unless you're a coffee connoisseur, you may want to skip the pour over for something a bit less special to save yourself a few dollars. The coffee was fine, but my unrefined palette was not able to fully appreciate the cup of brew. In terms of atmosphere, Kona Coffee & Tea has plenty of seating outdoors around the porch and a few high tables indoor, where they have AC blasting at full strength. They have free Wi-Fi available as well, so I saw a lot of people posting up on their laptops. Parking is plentiful and easy to find since this coffee spot is located in a strip mall. If you have a discerning palette for the subtle flavors that show up in different coffee beans, you will definitely want to stop by for a cup.

My wife and I thought everything was delicious. We may be biased because we've been coming here for four decades through many different restaurants. If you remember Dorian's than you are indeed an old timer. One of the challenges with owning a restaurant this close to the ocean is that big storms can wreak havoc and over the years it has caused restaurants here to fold. Kudos to the current owner who has been through some very big challenges over the years! You as a customer get to enjoy one of the best oceanfront restaurants on the coast thanks to that perseverance. We had a great server in Pete, and the entire staff seemed to be attentive and friendly. It probably helped that I showed a pic I found on my phone from 2007 showing my wife and her grandpa and 5 generations celebrating his 99th. So yeah this and the Kona Inn were for special occasions in our family. With the parking downtown such a problem Magics has an advantage with free and ample parking across the street. If you're looking for a memorable place to enjoy a sunset with the sound of the ocean then make a reservation for a half hour before sunset and enjoy yourself. When we travel we seek out places that will be remembered for the experience and hopefully the food will be part of that experience as well. We need to come back and try some more dishes before we can really judge that aspect but we will definitely be back. As to the prices well it's Hawaii. It is expensive but not overpriced! Mahalo.
