I think I prefer this style restaurant setup, because it's so much more efficient, and you're not stuck waiting forever for your server to come back to give you your check. While I prefer the Moco Loco with a Hamburger Patty or Chicken Katsu, this time I had it with Portuguese Sausage just to mix it up. Good though not as good as the others. The Medium Poached Eggs were perfect, as always. My wife and daughter both had basic pancakes, eggs, and bacon (the kids meal at just $8 is the perfect amount of food). And the GF version was indistinguishable from the regular. Good Coffee and excellent Orange Juice too, btw. One note for those conscientious or sensitive to sweet things; They put powdered sugar on top of many items by default. One more shout out to the quality of the employees. If you want to try Aloha Stacks, I highly recommend a different location because this one is absolutely terrible. TL;DR: They overcook eggs for eggs benedict and try to pass off incorrect dishes as the correct ones by being silent when they hand you dishes. Food: My group ordered 4 egg dishes with eggs that had runny yolks (eggs benedict, sunny side up, and over easy). 3 of 4 egg dishes were overcooked. I don't know about y'all but when I order an eggs benedict, I expect poached eggs. Not hardboiled eggs in the shape of a poached egg. The over easy eggs looked like someone tried to scramble the eggs in the pan halfway through cooking and then gave up. The sunny side up eggs were perfect though. One person in my group sent the 3 egg dishes back because it really sucked to eat an eggs benedict with a hard boiled yolk. Macnut Banana pancakes tasted fine but texturally could not hold their own. Everything kept falling apart and it didn't seem to be just because of the macadamia nuts. The pancake crumbled and had layers. I will say though that the amount of macadamia nuts was quite generous. Service: The server was silent...it was odd. She put our dishes on the table without a word and placed them in front of whoever she felt like. It was up to us to figure out which dish was what. When we asked if we could get replacement eggs for the overcooked ones (I have never sent back food but I don't regret sending these ones back because eggs are so simple and we didn't ask for a whole new plate, just new eggs), she took all of the plates. When she came back, again no words, didn't try to ask who ordered what. To make it better, one of the dishes was wrong and she acted offended when we pointed it out. Eventually she did take it back and brought out the correct item. There was a lot of empty table full of dirty dishes. It seemed like there were a lot of staff just standing around. One of the ladies was doing all the work. She bussing tables and saw the nearby table spilled a whole cup of juice on the floor and it flowed under a couple of chair from our table and cleaned it up for us. Probably there are not so many brunch places in Mission Viejo, everyone is in this plaza to get some Hawaiian brunch. My guava french toast had no guava on it and was soft, oily and tasteless. My fiancé's scrambled eggs were somehow overcooked with random pieces of crumbs from the griddle. It's been a while since my last review. I figured it's time for another. As usual the food was so darn good. The service was fast and friendly, while the food stayed hot and fresh. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating available. Be forewarned that it gets crazy busy here. You cannot pick a table until you've ordered. What we chose for brunch: 1) Crab omelette with white rice. This was topped off with a hollandaise sauce, with mushroom and spinach inside the omelette. I chose a side of white rice to go with my meal. They gave me a packet of soy sauce which I thought was going to be odd because of the hollandaise, but it made the omelette even better. So sriracha and soy sauce was all over this food. It was so good. This and the Kahlua omelettes are my favorite. 2) Corned beef hash with egg, gravy and a side of rice. My husband actually ordered the Loco Moco. They took this back since it was wrong but he decided to keep it since it was tasty. 3) Banana Foster's French Toast. We couldn't even eat this because our main dish was so filling, but it was so yummy. We packed the rest to bring home to the kids. They would absolutely love this French toast. 4) COFFEE. Why do I even list it here? It's "just" coffee! Well lemme tell ya...it's Lavazza coffee. That's why. I LOVE this brand. If you like coffee, you'll like this one. So you have to order it. A nice little Hawaiian Brunch restaurant that has a little bit of everything for the island style food lovers. They have the classic dishes from Loco Moco to teriyaki and more, along with their own specialty and creations. I had to try a combination of their classic dish like Loco Moco and also a little bit of a sweet breakfast like their Banana and Nutella Crepe. You simply order up from at the counter and everything is brought to you. They also have some nice Hawaiian style juices like guava juice and the tropical juices in a can. The crepe was very nice and tasted home made as they were not too sweet. It comes with maple syrup but I didn't really use it because the flavor of Nutella over it was much better. The loco Moco wasn't how I've had it many times in Hawaii and other cuisines as the burger/meat patty was so extremely thin and dry. Besides that I could tell the other dishes were all impressive as the tables around me had varieties that looked good. I'd definitely try other dishes and will be back here but not for the Loco Moco. Two eggs and bacon, with a side of sliced avocados, potatoes if I want savory or buttermilk pancakes when I want something sweet. Everything is perfection.
