I do not have any experience with the quality of work that Aloha State Refrigeration does, but I do know how their employees drive on the road! On 4/20 at 6:45 am, driving north on the H-2, an Aloha State Ref Transit was driving with their hood up my rear bumper. I was already exceeding the speed limit and going 60mph when 719-TVT flew by me the moment I was able to pull to the right-lane. So fast that I could not see the driver. I am involved with contracting HVAC vendors from a few thousand to several hundreds of thousands of dollars and Aloha State Refrigeration & Air Conditioning will not be amongst them. read more

just had my infinity wine coooler repaired. Conner was excellent in letting me know what he was checking and what his plan. was for finding the problem and fixing. he determined quickly that it didn't seem to be the compressor and later confirmed there was little refrigerant left. I was lucky in that no other problem was found. He added a valve for future servicing as these coolers aren't made to be serviced. It was difficult for me to find someone who services these large stand up coolers but the task of emptying the cooler and hauling. out the unit and bringing in a new one is daunting, to say the least. I am soo glad to have found this company. read more

The scheduling manager called me to schedule an appointment and had no recollection of scheduling so she called again another day and asked to schedule again. Informed her I had an appointment already but she claimed she never called me so I thought maybe it was another company my property manager recommended. Received a confirmation text from my property manager for the appointment following this phone call. Appointment day comes and no one shows I call the property manager and they said appointment is on. Call the company the lady says no I never called you with the initial date (today) and you told me you had an appointment elsewhere. I did tell her that maybe I did because why would she call twice to schedule an appointment she already scheduled with me. I thought must be another company calling not the same one who just called the other day. Her lack of organization upon the first call to schedule lead to all of this confusion. When I spoke with her today she takes no accountability and doesn't offer a solution. All she says was no you never schedule, doesn't understand my side and argues with me for 5 minutes. No apology no solution. Rudest woman and super unprofessional. Would replace her as a "manager" read more

Had an older 30000 btu Fujitsu replaced with a same size Mitsubishi today (Malcom and another whom I didnt get his name). Very pleased with their work and the new unit. Got a great price; showed up on time; very professional and pleasant braddahs; did a really nice job on the install in only a few hours and even checked with me on how and where I wanted certain things located, etc. They even cleaned up whatever debris from the install as well hauled out my old unit. Yelp Challenge 365 # 36/365 I am a climate control person... if the temperature is over 70 degrees I get fussy, and sugar melts..... This company has serviced the office building I work at. They have been servicing the building as long as I can remember. They are the greatest bunch of people to work with. We've had several situations where emergency services were required. Their rate stayed was the same; they did not surcharge the "emergency" situation. Their staffing has been the same people.... that tells me the management is good because of the lack of employment turnover. While i have not needed a/c work at my residence, I have their number on hand just in case... I would want them to handle the repairs as I know they will do a good job as they have done at my office. read more

Avoid this company at all costs. They are horrible at communication and if they cannot do what would be considered a basic skill for any company, then can you imagine how they would be at doing something that you need a particular skillset to do? The split AC unit in our tenant's unit wasn't blowing cold anymore. We had a friend of a friend who worked on ACs, come out several times in the past but just seems that they never fixed the problem. So I called these guys after reading Yelp reviews. Upon first assesment, they said they'd try to do the more "affordable" option first... Example: Technician: "It could be one of two things. It may just be this filter, so let's zap that and clean it out and see if it does the trick, but if not, it's most likely this thermostat part. If it is, a new part is gonna cost $xx.xx and we have to order it." And if I recall, I know they charge labor by the hour, however they credited us the time they came out for the first assessment and didn't charge as much for the second visit (when they did have to come and resplace the thermostat). At any rate, I would call them again , as they seemed to have fixed the problem and they were easy to work with. My recap: -Very quick response time to telephone calls and messages -Came out pretty quickly -Professional and efficient work schedule -Up front about costs and estimates -Guarantee on labor (I think they told us if something funny happened w/ in 30 days give them a call to come back). Let's face it, any and all AC repair is not going to be cheap, but it's certainly a lot cheaper than replacing a split AC system in a 3 story duplex.... read more

Not only was Customer Service attentive, a tech was promptly assigned and arrived in record time. He was professional, knowledgeable, and was able to figure out the multiple issues with my dipping cabinet. I would highly recommend them! Five Stars all the way!! read more

I live in a high rise condo in downtown. The building was constructed in 1971 (which coincidentally is how old my central air-conditioning system is). A short time ago, my air-conditioning stopped blowing cold air. Even though the building was pumping the chilled water through the system, my unit wasn't getting it. I had trouble finding a reasonable quote to fix the system. I contacted 3 HVAC repair companies I found on Yelp: only two responded, both of which said I had to replace the entire system, no repair possible. Finally, I called Aloha State for another estimate. After completing the inspection for repair or replacement, I was surprised when Aloha State's Phillip said: "I could repair this, it doesn't have to be replaced." I said, "great, how much and when?" He gave me a quote that was less than 12 times the other estimates to replace the entire system and said he could fix it right now. We're talking hundreds of $$$ to replace a hydraulic actuator on a 44-year-old system as opposed to several thousand $$$$ to install a new one. Yes, please. He worked on the system for several hours, leaving once only for a short time to buy a part. And even when my own building's maintenance crew (responsible for the chill water flow) were being less than helpful, and at one point downright rude, Philip was calm, easy-going, and kept his cool. Our maintenance men nearly killed the deal, when they prohibited him from finishing a part of the job. This particular service required freezing of the pipes, a responsibility they said they reserved strictly for a different company, the company that initially quoted me the highest estimate! He handled the egos of our mighty maintenance men well and was able to find a workaround to resolve the issue as promised. In the end, my air-conditioning was fully functional blowing ice-cold-air. Philip and I were both smiling as I gladly paid the invoice. read more

These guys do good work are reasonably priced and fair. I live in an older condo with split units on their last leg. Replacement would be VERY expensive due to the location of the units and poor design of the original construction. I have had Aloha out a couple of times to fix leaks and keep the units running. I called them this morning (September 26, 2016) to schedule a repair for my Fujitsu split AC. They quoted $120 an hour. They said they couldn't tell me exactly what time they would arrive so I arranged for my mother to be at home ALL DAY. At 3:30, they called me to tell me they would have to charge me overtime because the technician was running late. I told them that overtime was out of the question and if they said they told me that they were too busy in the morning when I initially called, I could have tried calling someone else. This to me is terrible customer service. I have used them in the past but I will never use them again. I told the female that answered the phone that they were about to permanently lose me as their customer. She didn't seem to mind very much. Ridiculous. I called Aloha State for a price quote on a new AC unit since mine was no longer functioning. They told me they were going to charge me $100 an hour just to give me a price quote. Umm, yea, no thanks. I That's not how this works. I dont pay money to determine if I am going to give you my business or not. Rather, you tell me why I should choose you and not any of the other 40 HVAC companies on Oahu. Felix and Joe did an excellent job cleaning and servicing our Fujitsu units. Why the two stars? Two stars because the owner, Dennis Kumagai, failed to return our phone calls. Dennis was very customer service-oriented up until we paid him in full. Will update this if Dennis returns our phone calls. These guys gave me a quote to install AC in my townhouse for $26,000!!! TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! Their quote included $6,000 labor, $5,000 for drywall, and $5,000 for painting. I hope for that price they were planning on installing 24 karat drywall and painting my entire townhouse complex. Needless to say, I did not go with these guys. I ended up paying the Aire Conditioner Shoppe to do it for $4,200. read more

Very professional! We had to have our entire a/c replaced and living in Ewa it is hot without a/c! Sasha and her team came out within 4 days of being called and I was amazed at how quickly they worked and their professionalism. They even laid a protective strip over our floors where they walked/worked as to not get the floors dirty (no bare feet for these guys). They even came back out right away when we noticed an issue with the cooling several days after installation. I would highly recommend! read more

I called to have them check my condo A/C unit which recently had a water leak and needed cleaning and repairs. Unlike any of the other A/C places I checked with, they told me they would charge $100 an hour even to look at it and give an estimate. Could not risk paying that kind of fee and have them give me too high a price or tell me they could not fix paticularly when every other place will do it for free. read more
