It's been approximately a year and half that we got our LG dual inverter window unit installed in our town house. What a huge difference from Fredrich window unit. The LG is way quieter and more efficient, also looks better. We were very skeptical going with LG however, Brian took the time to explain and demo a LG that he had in his office and because of Brian's experience we decided to purchase one. Fast forwarded year and a half and we just got our AC cleaned by Brian and Chris (Affordable Home AC) and glad we did. Chris said it was a perfect timing to clean it and couldn't be happier with his service. He gave us a good report and to keep what we are doing. Thank you guy! Because we live in a town house it's more feasible to go with a window unit the way our townhouse is. Granted I would love to have a split. I found this company on Google. They are located in the Waipahu industrial area across from the old City Mill. The LG AC unit my mother needed was in stock - so that was a HUGE plus. However, she left 3 messages for them during the day on a Friday (May 1st). Brian called her Saturday morning and my mother went to their warehouse that morning and picked up an upgraded LG AC unit (more energy efficient & way more quiet) that was installed yesterday (May 3rd). Yes, we wish they returned her call sooner, but they were likely very busy and/or short staffed. Also, their website has been down since May 1st. Not sure why that is, but tried to visit their website again this morning (May 4th) and it's still down. Hope they get that resolved soon. We had gotten our window unit initially installed by Affordable Home AC a year ago. We noticed our unit started leaking onto the Lanai, and called them up to take a look at the issue. They were able to give us a quote on the phone, and schedule within 2 days. Chris came onsite, remembered us, and was able to remove, assess the issue, and correct the unit within an hour and a half. We also asked him what best practices were to maintain our unit to maximize it's lifecycle. He was honest, and gave us things we should do weekly ourselves (checking the filter to clean) and scheduling maintenance just short of yearly. As people who aren't familiar with AC systems, he's extremely knowledgable, has great bedside manners, and is a really honest guy who isn't money grabbing at every opportunity. We plan to reach out for future services and any other AC needs we will have in the future! read more

Not only is it energy efficient, I can also control it from my phone and they took the time to go over all this with me after the install. I called in that day to discuss scheduling an appointment, and was able to schedule for today, Wednesday, Sept 13. So, complete turnaround time from my initial reach out to installation was exactly one week - awesome! I believe I spoke with the owner, Brian, on the phone to discuss the scheduling, and he answered all my questions thoroughly and patiently. I needed to change my existing thru-the wall unit and after calling numerous companies and being told they do only split systems or central systems I was beginning to get discouraged. I decided to give Affordable Home AC a call. After leaving a message, Brian returned my call very promptly. He told me yes they do sell and install wall units. What a Godsend! He gave me a very reasonable quote and informed me the they could schedule the work the very next week. On the day of the installation they called and showed up earlier than expected. They promptly went to work in removing the old unit and installing the new one in about 1/2 hour. I was impressed when John showed up on time, asked intelligent questions, took a look at my existing a/c unit by neatly removing it from the casing, and then patiently explained my options ... even showing me pictures of what I could expect and ensuring I purchased the right size unit for the space. After getting an estimate and approving the price, it took a couple of weeks to order my new a/c unit and schedule the actual installation -- a delay I was perfectly fine with since my neighbor flooded my kitchen and I had to live with a dehumidifier and fan for 3 days! -- but once scheduled, again, what a breeze! They did a great job at replacing a 15+ year old window a/c in the living room. Living in Ewa, a working a/c is a necessity not a luxury. It was just about impossible finding an 18,000 unit BTU window air conditioner that would ship to Hawaii, and Lowe's and Home Depot didn't have any in stock. It took about three weeks as the soonest appointment for someone to come to the house to do measurements and a free quote. Once that was done, I got an appointment for the next week to do the install. I was really pleased with all of the staff from the estimator to the installers.
