    Dolsot Bibimbap, Bulgogi
    Sophie B.

First warning: There is an automatic 18% gratuity charge if you are dining in, no matter how large the party is. I will not be eating here again. The service was slow, the food was not great, and the overall atmosphere is just not very enjoyable. Let's start with the food, objectively the worst part. We started with the summer rolls, which were incredibly bland - even paired with the sauce they bring. I will note, they did give us complimentary miso soup because the food was taking a long time - but that was really salty and not good either. The only redemption for the bibimbap was that the taste of the bulgogi was good. That said, the bibimbap was disappointing - it had little flavor other than the bulgogi, and as you can see - the sunny-side-up egg was actually just completely fried, no runny yolk. The chicken katsu was absolutely disgusting. The sauce was not a katsu curry sauce at all, and the chicken was extremely dry and some pieces were really hard. Stay far away from this dish. The server was very kind and he honestly seemed a little stressed (it wasn't busy at all in there but the kitchen was taking a while). He's the reason I'm giving two stars - especially with the complimentary soup. Avoid this restaurant. Not worth it.

Came to Charles street in hopes of going to XS for sushi. XS was closed! Sad face. The guy inside said they're temporarily closed as they're getting new management. I'm like well where is sushi then? I didn't struggle parallel park for nothing LOL The guy then suggested Aloha sushi which is just up the block. I ordered sweet potato rolls which were yummy. Friends had pot stickers and poke bowl which they liked. Server accidentally switched up the credit cards so another person paid for our food and we paid for his. Server was extremely apologetic and we were able to figure everything out. There's a down stairs to this establishment too. More of a bar and there's televisions I guess for sports.

This restaurant charges a service fee of about 10%, which was not disclosed to us beforehand and is not on the menu/website. I was disappointed to see an additional $15 added to my bill that did not count toward the gratuity.

This is hands down my favorite "let me get a drink and something to eat" spots. Service is always attentive & fairly quick. I've never had a problem with any of the food whether upstairs or down (downstairs is the true bar). Music always hits.

This review is for the NEWLY REOPENED under new owners, Aloha, with return of the awesome sushi chef, Raj! Pros: fresh sushi that's wonderfully prepared and plated. Delicious options for side dishes and cooked food as well, for when you want something other than raw sushi but really, that's what you should go there for. Clean, welcoming and decently spaced apart tables with sushi bar seating as well. Metered street parking is usually not used to find in that area if you don't mind a short walk. Con: Prices on a couple of raw fish items are a little higher that some competitors but the freshness and taste is worth it. Also, let's face it, you really do not want a restaurant to get cheap or skimp on freshness when you're eating raw fish so just go, enjoy, and tip well. Speaking of tipping, note that gratuity is included in the check but it's only 18% so if you're a decent human, add to this for your regular tip and don't be cheap towards hard working wait staff.

This place is highly underrated! I had the shrimp shumai and lasagna roll, which had so much flavor! I'll be back for that alone! Raz took care of me, and was super friendly. I'm happy that I found a sushi spot in my neighborhood!!

3.5 stars. Have only gotten delivery from here twice since they're always open and convenient. I've gotten sushi burritos each time (one salmon and the other was Maryland lump crab). They were both decent and tasty, but I did feel like they were a little bit of a gimmick (it's by no means large). I was a little bit disappointed that my lump crab burrito didn't have any pineapple even though it was in the description. Would have also enjoyed a texture contrast (i.e. the pineapple or cucumber). Overall a decent place.

I've been here so many times. The bimpinbop bowl is so good and it comes in a stone pot. (It stays warm). The sushi was very tasty and the rice was perfect. The first floor is a restaurant and the bottom part is a bar. I am only giving 2 stars because they charge 18% gratuity on checks and the service tonight was horrible. The server was not doing anything at all. We were the only people dining in the restaurant and she ignored us all night. She never checked on us. She forgot to bring us spicy sauce (we requested this). She was confused. My partner order sake and she brought the bottle to the table and said "I only have a full bottle" and my partner was like "okay, pour it in the cup" it was just weird. I didn't think it was acceptable that she made $10 off me tonight and never (literally never) checked on us. We had to actually stand up and walk to the bar to ask her for a fork and hot sauce AND more water. Terminate shawty please.

I ordered salmon avocado roll and what was supposed to be a spicy tuna roll. The tuna roll was not spicy. This was the worst ginger and wasabi I've ever had!! The wasabi was like a powder substance with a horrible texture. Really lackluster! Would not go back. I watched the sushi being made and felt like it was going to be disappointing by the little effort/care used to make it

Ordered here via GrubHub while I was on a hotel staycation in Baltimore. We ordered: philly roll, new philly roll, shrimp shumai, unagi avocado roll, salmon nigiri, miso soup, spring roll. Even though we had some customization, our order was prepared correctly and packaged very neatly so that nothing spilled. All our sushi was together in one container, but they took the care to label the outside of the container for us so we knew what roll was what. This was greatly appreciated. Everything tasted really good. The only thing I didn't care for so much was the miso soup, but it wasn't bad. Just not good. If I lived in Baltimore I'd definitely make this place my go-to.

For the scallop roll, there was a large baked scallop on each piece of sushi. I thought having something warm on sushi might be odd, but it was delicious! I would say I'm a pretty avid sushi eater, this place tries their best, but misses the mark. I enjoyed their appetizers, but actual sushi was bad. The rice is a bit undercooked and has an extra soft texture. It feels a bit too mushy, which feels unnatural. My friend ordered the avocado roll and that was not tasty at all. We asked if we can get it wrote off the bill or returned, but they said "no refund or exchanges!" lol. So we had to take this massive L for the mediocre sushi. That is all; see attached a photo.

The poke had cucumbers, mangoes, avocado, and scallions as well and I felt that the mango with a nice touch to add some sweetness, and it was also very fresh. The addition of the cucumber gave a nice crunchy texture that helped the dish overall. As for the sauce, I got the original non-spicy poker sauce. I found Ramen Utsuke from Yelp and although it had over 4-stars, I was skeptical because I came from a town with excellent Asian restaurants so I couldn't help but be a bit judgey about the reviews. We were pleasantly surprised that the food was actually pretty legit Japanese. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen Black and the broth was delicious. The noodles were well done and it had a fair amount of toppings. The pork chashu could be better (they were a little dry) but overall, it was very good in a legitimate-Asian approved way. I also got the avocado salad in onion and roasted garlic dressing and the dressing was the bomb! We use the remainder as dipping sauce for other stuff. For drinks, I ordered an espresso martini with tequila. Our server suggested adding Baileys to the first one, and while I gave it a try, it quickly reminded me that I am firmly Team No Baileys in my espresso martinis. Thankfully, the second one was exactly how I like it. For food, we started with the house salad, yellowtail roll, and crispy rice with tuna. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For our entrée, I had my heart set on the miso black cod, but my dining companion is a devoted branzino fan. After talking through both dishes with our server, he strongly recommended the branzino. I'll never admit this to him directly, but the server may have been right. The fish was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. One small thing to note is that we had to ask for soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger after our sushi arrived. This seems to be becoming more common at restaurants these days, and I'm guessing it's an effort to reduce waste, which I can appreciate. It wasn't a big deal at all, but if you're a sushi traditionalist like me, don't be surprised if you need to request the full set of accompaniments. One thing that really stood out was the service. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and honest when we asked about menu items. We mentioned that we were running a bit behind for our show, and he made sure our food came out quickly without making us feel rushed. The restaurant itself is stylish and upscale, though a bit smaller than some of the other waterfront restaurants nearby. There's a nice bar area, sushi bar seating, and a lively atmosphere without feeling overwhelming. They also offer valet parking. We initially assumed it was only for The Ruxton next door since that's where it was stationed, but our server later let us know it's available for Azumi guests as well. Good information for next time! Pricing felt appropriate for a waterfront sushi and seafood restaurant in Harbor East. The portions matched the price point, and we left satisfied without feeling like we overpaid. Overall, Azumi delivered great food, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere. I asked what to get, since the menu is *huge* and overwhelming (I'm not sure why sushi, steak and pad Thai are on the same menu?). He recommended sushi, so I got a flaming dragon roll (I forget the exact name). Anyways, everyone else also ordered and the food came relatively quickly. Now...when I tell you this is the worst sushi I've ever had. Again, I hate being negative but I have to tell it like it is! When they first presented the dish, it was cool because they serve it on fire. I knew that they had sake in the dish (probably so the flame can keep going after they take it out of the kitchen). However, when I bit into it, the sake was *extremely* overpowering. I couldn't taste anything else except the sake. It was extremely alcohol-heavy and I could not finish the dish. I asked others to try it, and they all agreed that it was too heavy. The prices were also very high for what we got. The only food I enjoyed were the appetizers, but they were still unremarkable. Overall, I regrettably cannot recommend this place. None of the dishes stood out, and the sushi was shocking.
