My family and I came here twice early January during a mini vacation trip in the mountains. My toddler boys had fun and thankfully surpassed the 36" tall requirement, so we got to go tubing and on the Alpine Slide! Everything was working fine during our visits, and it wasn't really crowded because we always came when it would just open. But by the time we would leave, the line looks ridiculously long, so just beware. You do have to sign a waiver before going on any rides, and that line can and will get long since completing the waiver on an iPad can take a long time for some people. And when the line does get long, people would stand very close to each other, no social distancing at all. I wish you'd be able to complete it online and just show proof that it's completed upon arrival to avoid such unnecessary wait. Oh and it's also cash only and it can get very expensive if you go on more that just one attraction, so carrying that much cash must be planned ahead, or you can use their ATM machine nearby. Overall a great and fun place to visit in Big Bear, just try to go during the week and when they open to avoid the crowds. read more

Beware, we got injured on the Alpine Slide. Went down with my 5-year-old and we skidded partially off while rounding a corner. I'm going home slightly traumatized with 6 bad scrapes plus torn ski pants and a torn sweater. Will need to see a doctor. My kid has one small scrape. read more

Super fun for water sliding. CASH only (there's an ATM) for everything. Really responsible staff monitoring kids (I'm impressed). $20 for an all day pass. If you're staying longer it's like $69 for the entire season. My kids had a great time. There's only 2 slides, but it's the most reasonable thing to do in Big Bear for kids (and their parents/grandparents) on a hot day like today (in the 80s). The last star would be given if there was food (snack bar only serving drinks, chips and ice cream) and if they took credit cards for payments. It's pricey if you get anything other than the season pass or Day pass for the water park. read more

We had a great time! The employees were all nice and helpful to us and we were able to enjoy everything without waiting! We did forget to sign waivers, our fault because there is a huge red sign that says to sign the waivers first with an arrow, but they kindly directed us to them before getting on a ride. It was difficult to find tickets at first but after a few minutes of wandering around, we were able to find them pretty well. The slide was so fun and went a lot faster than my boyfriend and I thought it would haha. Then we did the roller coaster and this was even more fun, even though it's expensive for one ride down ($20.) I ended up losing my hat right near the end of the ride and the employees were helpful in assuring me I could pick it up when they got it back after hours which is nice of them. We highly recommend the Alpine roller coaster. We gave it a try and had so much fun. Carts can fit up to two people so children can ride with adults. The ride starts with a steep climb to the top and then you push forward on the brake to go full speed around the twists and turns. You really experience some G-forces as you navigate some of the turns. Overall ride lasts about two minutes. Single rides are a little expensive at $20+ per person but it's definitely worth the experience and you will likely exit the ride laughing and smiling. Enjoy!! read more

The only thing that made me give this place 4 starts rather then 5, was the one of the workers there. This was one of my favorite places to go in big bear as a kid. We went with our parents every year because it was super fun. Went this year with my fiancée and we both had a fun time. The tickets are $9 for a single ride and you take a chair lift to the top. From there you're on a course with a go-kart style seat. It was freezing but super fun. It takes like 6-8 mins to do the entire course, so not too long. The views from the top are stunning! Definitely recommend for kids and those who are a kid at heart. read more

Roller coaster is a little pricey for one ride but it was a good experience. In hot days it's nice to be a little wet from the water slides before riding this attraction. I do not recommend buying the video package- it seems to be the same still shots used over and over again. read more

Love coming here!! There is so much to do and you can easily spend the whole day here. The slide is definitely worth it. You take a chair lift to the top and there is a beautiful view of Big Bear lake. Then you get to slide all the way back down to the bottom!! Such a perfect day!! We arrived when the opened and left when they closed. I can't even count how many times we went down the tubes. $40 for 6 hours of nonstop fun isn't bad. People were super chill and polite. James and Destiny made our day extra special too- very genuine and caring people. The snow was fresh, the magic carpet worked perfectly. Came on a weekday and it was a great experience. My two kids (11/12) and I had a great time. We only did the sleds and the coaster. Miniature Gold course was a bit small, but its cheap. We watched others do the flying eagle, looked cool but it wouldve better if it was over the parking lot. Tubing area looked good also, but we had already gone tubing at another location the day prior. The tubes they use looked like actual inner tubes unlike the other place. They do have a conveyor belt to take ya back to the top. Snack bar was decent, but we didnt get anything. We will be back to this place read more

I'm starting this review with the conclusion of our summer visit during a "partial quarantine". Overall, my family, 2 adults, 2 teens had a great time. We drove up exclusively to visit Alpine Slide. For teens - it's a good place to burn some time but not a place they will be occupied and want to stay very long. I was worried about the safety after reading other reviews but unless you're an extreme daredevil that just won't use brakes, you'll be fine. Use common sense. **CASH ONLY** They lost 2 stars due to an indecent I explain below if you care to read, otherwise, we had a good time over all and would recommend it. Overall: B+ Rides were fun - 2 adults and 2 teens. Minecraft Coaster ($20pp): B - The New roller coaster: We rode it brand new still sparkling (7/25/2020). The speed was self-controlled making the "thrill" customized by the rider. The brakes were easy to use, and the ride felt pretty safe and solid - we loved it. Soaring Eagle ($12pp): B+ - The new dual zip line ride. **Spoiler alert**: it's NOT as scary as it looks. It doesn't have a drop like rides at Six Flags so should be ok for most ages. Alpine Slide ($7pp): A+ - the original self-controlled bobsled ride. Many ages riding it, but younger riders may not be strong enough to use the self-controls. The bonus is you can control your speed and can see the lake! You must take the ski-lift to the top (which is a ride within itself). Facility / COVID-19: C - There are no "Corona Virus monitors" enforcing policies. They marked 6ft distancing in all lines, and have sineage stating masks must be worn. Many people had their masks on incorrectly but nobody said anything. You must sign their waiver by using an iPad that everyone touches so if that's a concern print and sign a hardcopy before you get there. Bathrooms are small. Not sure why they accept cash only especially during a pandemic. They do have ATM machines. -------------- The incident causing a 2 star ding was on the Minecraft Coaster: It exhausts me to write this. During this sensitive time for Blacks in America, I don't go LOOKING for racial issues. In-fact I go out of my way not to. If you look at my reviews, you won't find many if any. We were in line to ride the coaster when the attendant yelled out "No purses or backpacks allowed on the ride", then he quickly turned away, no questions accepted. We were towards the end of the short line, and since he turned away so quickly I was not able to ask him if there were lockers or somewhere to store the small backpacks that my daughter and I had. My husband wasn't sure if we missed part of the attendant's spiel but hubby told us there'd probably be an alternative. We noticed a woman ON the ride had a small purse that she had tucked on the side, so we figured there "must be some exceptions". No need to get worked up, I'll ask him once it was "our turn". When we stepped up to ride, he looks at us and again yells, "No backpacks or purses - I literally JUST said it 30 seconds ago" in front everyone! Obviously this guy was being a smart ass by saying "he said it 30 seconds ago" as if we were stupid. I was offended and asked "Is there a place we can leave them, a locker or a cabinet like MOST amusement parks!?" He kept going with the snarky sarcasm by saying "did you DRIVE, do you have a CAR you can put them in? We have lockers being shipped so they aren't here yet"! I snapped at him for being nasty but we basically had to get out of line and go all the way back to our car. When we returned and got to the front of the line, a lady BEHIND us mentioned that she had a purse and asked what should she do with it. With my family standing right there, he "happily" took her purse and placed it down and said he'd keep it there for her while she rode. What. The. Hell??? She was BEHIND us! For those still following, YES, she was White. The other lady that had the small purse tucked on the side - SURPRISE - White also! So what would YOU think if this was you? Coincidence? We asked him directly. He stated "I'm just doing what I can to keep the line moving along". Really? She was just ONE lady and was BEHIND us - but did he send her back to her car? Of course not! My husband knew I was upset, so he asked "why didn't you just allow my wife and daughter to leave their bags as well?". He gave us the cynical good ole boy eye-winked apology. Been there done that. So much fun! It is $20 a person and if you go early enough on the weekend, the line isn't that bad. The slide really whips you around the turns and is longer than expected. It was a great time and they have a large parking lot. read more

Fun as hell! We did the snow play for $35. My niece and nephew got charged as adults because they are over 3 feet. Cash only. All you do is sign the waver, buy your ticket, grab an inter tube they provide, and start sliding. That treadmill thing that takes you back up to the top is bad ass. It was super windy and snow/frozen rain was hitting us pretty hard on the face. That treadmill thing is covered so you're shielded while you go up. The staff is hit or miss. About half of them are pretty helpful, the other half not so much. The first couple hours were good. Staff at the top kept the lines organized and let you take pictures and video from the bottom as long as we were at a safe distance. Then the staff switched and it was a free for all at the top. Not organized anymore, just slide when you can. But we didn't let that ruin our day. We had a kick ass time and I would definitely come back. read more

Yikes!!! This place was complete chaos. Granted it was the week between Christmas and New Years... but it was brutal! Our only reason for visiting was to go tubing. We spent roughly 2.5 hours in line to tubing for less than 30 min. The employees were impossible to find. Lines were colliding. Customers had no sense of where to stand for which line. After purchasing tickets, we got in line to go tubing. After waiting for 20 min, we learned we needed to sign a waiver. That line took over 1.5 hours to get through. We won't be back. read more

The place is not worth your time or money. You must go to individual booths to buy each ride and separate lines to sign wavers . Then another line for the ride. They combine a couple of attractions in a package, but there is no general ticket or book of tickets you can buy to go on rides. The lines were unnecessary and could have easily been avoided if they had one main ticket booth where you sign releases at that point. Then the sticker price shock for each ride. I thoroughly recommend you pass in this tourist trap and spend your money elsewhere. read more

Fun aside, we had a really disappointing experience when visiting here today. When buying the tickets, they said one of our kids is too tall to be considered a child ticket so he'll need an adult ticket - fine, makes sense, he's almost 7. so 3 adult tickets and 1 small child (our daughter is 4.5). As we were about to enter, the guys that give the stickers said our daughter is too tall and requires an adult ticket. the only reason she made the 42" line was her snow boots, because without them, she's only 40". so even though the ticket booth considered her a small child, we had to go back and pay the difference to get her an adult ticket thanks to the dummies at the entrance. Overall my family had a fun day. I will say that many employees we came across were unfriendly and had an attitude. First when we went to kiosk to sign wavers and the young lady there was very directive and condescending. We then went tubing and came back to get food in the cafe. The older gentleman working there was very pleasant. We ordered fries and they were cold so we kindly asked him to remake them. The young lady walk into the kitchen and ask what we wanted then gave us back the fries we had already sent back. She then stared at us while we were waiting for the gentleman. Almost 30 minutes in that line was wasted on something that should've been done at the ticket booth. The tube slide was not organized at all. People cut at the top of the slide. No one is moving people out at the bottom. It's just the kid at the top yelling through a megaphone to the people at the bottom to move out. And the restrooms were disgusting. Flooded toilets and water on the floor. I need to find a different place to take my family when there is no snow fall. read more

WARNING TO PARENTS. their measuring sticks are all different and inaccurate. I measured my children before we left and they came right at the height limit. Doctor measurements from 2 months ago match mine. When we got here their measuring sticks were 4inches off on one stick and 2 inches off on another. If you're close to the limit beware. Fun tourist trap. Visiting Big bear for a few days, first time visiting, wanted to do something fun for my two kids (9&12). Two different companies located here one for the go-kart, soaring eagly and the mini golf the other and the the mineshaft coaster. Both are expensive spent over $160.00 on the 3 rides. The coaster was our favorite at 20.00 a person about a 5-6 min ride- at the end you can purchase your photos and a video for $14.99. The soaring eagle is not for those fearlul of heights- this is a quick 30 second ride. You're strapped onto a chair pulled fast backwards then brought back down. End of the ride. Not worth it imo. Go karts - always fun and never long enough. Spent about 20-30 min here and spent $160.00 ouch. read more

First timer! It looked so cool ride view! Have plenty free parking spot. Make sure bring CASH ONLY but they do have ATM if needed. Have public restroom inside, plenty of hand sanziter, staffs are wearing masks, theres a line to sign waiver on iPad before you purchase ticket. They will give you bracelet so you won't have to sign the waiver again for other rides. Just only pay cash for ticket and show your bracelet. It was fun to ride lift to up to take Alpine Slide, have staffs to watch us make sure we are safe and follow social distance. They do clean the slide but you can bring your own wipes if feel not comfortable. Have two lanes, one is fast & one is slow; the ride is plastic so it might be little bumpy for you guys and good short ride. Worth it for short fun getaway. The coaster is the best part! The tubing was fun but not worth it unless you're going to do that all day. Arrived at 11:30am and there was plenty of parking. Left around 2pm and the place was packed. The covid precautions are NOT taken seriously. Saw way too many people walking around without masks. Even the employees don't wear them. There's six feet signs and mask signs but the employees don't care to enforce it. The lines are SO disorganized. Everyone asking everyone where to go. I swear it's like only 5 people work at this place. I recommend printing waivers at home before arriving cause the line for that was insane. If you have patience and aren't worried about children running in front of your feet, this place is great! I had a fun time but wouldn't recommend staying here all day. read more

One star because it's required. This place has the nuttiest rules. We came to go tubing and were told to leave because we backed our truck in to a parking spot. (F250 Superduty Lariet... kinda the only way to park this thing) .. and the whole team came out and said we needed to leave. (mind you the truck next to us.... was backed in) We put up a fight because there was NO signs or anything stating this crazy rule that everyone has to pull in straight. They were more willing to lose business than leave us alone and let our truck be backed in. There are other tubing places that you should take your business too! read more

This is our first time to Big Bear Lake. It's really beautiful here with amazing scenery but it sucks that there's no snow during our visit. My husband did some research and found three spots that offered snow tubing, Alpine Slide seemed to be the best option. Snow tubing is available at 10am-4pm for $35 all day access. It was busy when we arrived around 11am and it was getting completely packed. Everyone else had the same idea. My husband had stopped by around 10am when they opened just to check it out and he said it was not this busy at all. He ended up buying the tickets for our big group of about 18 people while he was there. But then we found the hard way that you buy your tickets and then have to wait in a long ass line just to sign a liability waiver. That part was not fun at all. We probably waited in line for 30-45 minutes. You would think they had a more efficient method to do this online beforehand or something similar. The liability waiver line was a pain and a waste of time. Once you sign the waiver, the staff gives you a green zip tie so staff knows you signed the waiver before you can do ANYTHING!!!! Then you wait in line for the snow tubing and they give you a paid sticker they put around your green zip tie. Once we got in and started snow tubing, it was great fun. The line for the magic carpet ride up to the snow tube hill wasn't bad at all considering how busy the place was. So we got to go tubing about 6-7 times in a row. It was pretty awesome. Kids ages 2-6 are free and they must ride with an adult. The place got super busy and the lines got longer in the early afternoon around 1-2pm. We left around 3pm. We also did the Alpine Slide which is similar to a bobsled ride. It's an additional $5 per person for this ride. Kids under 48" or ages 2-6 ride free with an adult purchase. You take a scenic chairlift ride to the top and then bobsled down. This can go as fast or as slow as you want. It's quite fun and worth the extra $5. All in all, we had a good time. The only annoying part is waiting in line forever for signing the waiver liability form. No bueno!!! read more

So full disclosure. I read the reviews before we took the kids over the weekend. I was concerned about the Alpine Slide and we ended up not riding because the kids thought it looked boring. It didn't look overly dangerous to me but the few folks we watched rode were going really slow. Perhaps a reckless speed would cause injuries but we didn't notice any ourselves. Now, this is the good part. The coaster is awesome. I rode with my 7yr old daughter and my wife rode with our 11yr old son. You control the brakes so you can go as fast as gravity will pull you down the mountain. It was a blast! Both kids enjoyed it as did both parents! It was hot out and there is no shade but it's be tough to enclose the length of the coaster. Also, it's Big Bear, so it's only got for like a month. I'd bet spring and fall are perfect. We also rode the Soaring Eagle. Super fun even though the line was a little long for my liking. If the line had some shade it would have been totally fine. Kids got the 10-pack water slide. Only used 4-5 turns each and got tired of climbing the stairs in the heat. They did say they enjoyed the slides and that the right slide (right if you're standing at the top) is the faster slide. The lifeguards were attentive and helped the younger kids get out of the pool. They also helped a middle aged women who struggled when she splashed into the pool. She panicked and was sucking in water but they grabbed her quick and she recovered in just a couple minutes. The only real negatives we encountered were parking - it was packed. It's also a bit expensive but if you're vacationing you should plan to spend a few bucks anyway. Very centrally located so a very short drive from anywhere near the lake or Big Bear City. read more

The roller coaster line is ridiculously long. It goes pretty slow also. I recommend doing it first thing in the morning when it's open. It's not worth an hour wait. And too expensive to do it twice. If it's not the first thing you do then skip it you'll waste your time standing in a slow line. Also the whole place is not run well. The manager to this place sucks! Talks down to people who are confused and need help. Over priced, not well run, employees and manager don't care it's obvious. read more
