As tourists in Big Bear, we were a little sad there wasn't much natural snow to sled on but we were happy to see Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain, the park saved the day! We rolled in early (highly recommend!) and skipped the long lines. Yes, most rides are priced separately, which was a surprise, but honestly... we still had a great time. The kids loved sledding on the man-made snow, and their laughter made it worth every penny. We hopped on the other rides too, and they were just FUN! We didn't try the food, but they do sell snacks and meals. Outside food isn't allowed, but since the park is open, you can easily walk back to your car--parking is super easy and close, which was a big plus. Overall, such a fun family stop! If you're looking for something exciting to do in Big Bear, this place definitely brings the energy.

What We Played: -Single Ride Ticket $20 -Child Ride Ticket $10 -Mini Golf (Child) $8 -Mini Golf (Adult) $9 The Mine Shaft Coaster was a lot of fun and quite exhilarating! As a larger guy, I felt like I was flying down the track. I didn't feel unsafe, although I may have used the brakes a time or two. The mini golf was your typical course, with a few interesting holes, but most were pretty average. We couldn't find a scorecard, but we took scores on our phones. We had a friendly wager between siblings and spouses, which made it all the more enjoyable! We really enjoyed playing here, and the price is unbeatable. The staff is incredibly helpful. One employee even went out of their way to help us by giving us a penny for the machine when we were short. I was so grateful for their kindness! We will definitely be back when we're in Big Bear again.

I am giving this 5 stars because of the mineshaft coaster. That was a blast! Totally worth the $20 a person to ride. It was the perfect weather too during the summer because it was cloudy and rained a little. The staff are very friendly and parking lot is spacious. Perfect location on the way into Big Bear too. There's mini golf, go karts, water slides, soaring eagle ride, alpine slide, and a mineshaft coaster. You sign the waivers first then head on the rides. The coaster goes really fast especially on the second half of the ride. You can ride with 2 if total weight is under 370 too. Solo ride is the way to go though. It started raining on the chair life to the alpine slide which was nice actually. They cautioned to go slower since it was wet which I think took from the experience for me. It was cool to say I did it but the coaster is where it's at. Didn't try the other activities but I had a wonderful time. Will definitely come back!

This was a great experience. Expect to wait long. If you start waiting in line towards the back where they check you in, make sure to go grab your ticket at the front of the establishment before walking into the building. I think it was fun. However extremely cold when I went in January. WEAR GLOVES. I didn't and my hands were frozen. Also I don't think I could reach the handles very well with my big jacket on. Great roller coaster though I want to go back when it's not as cold

Organized. Costly if you put together all the activities. But, it's worth it! You can just select what suits your family. Tubing was great and good for all ages. 3-2-2025

. The lady at the kiosk waivers was very nice , no issue there. But as soon as we got to the payment section . The lady was incredibly rude and angry . She definitely put a dampened our experience especially since she did not have any people skills . There many signs everywhere but it still didn't really point to the correct area . The coaster was ok . Not worth the price for one ride but our kids still enjoyed themselves .

This was a fun experience for a group of girls! We loved the Alpine Slide and the little ski lift up to it was my favorite part! Listen: it is not an organized park like Disneyland, but it also was not very expensive. The rides are all separate charges and you do have to sign a waiver first. But if you know what you're getting into, it's awesome.

Alpine Slide At Magic Mountain Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Alpine Slide At Magic Mountain

    Any activities for toddlers?

For Snow Play, Alpine Slide, and Go-Karts, children must be a minimum of 36" tall. Anyone below that is too small to participate.

Will "Snow Play" still be available in April?

    Is this place dog friendly?

    I wouldn’t say so

How long do people usually spend here?

You could easily spend half of the day here. It's really fun but depends on how much energy you have. There's a conveyor that helps but the air is thinner and cold so you can get winded fast. I say budget to stay at least two hours.

Are they open when it's actively snowing?

Does the slide operate when there's a snow storm?

Alpine slide- no Coaster- mostly no if track is clear and not icey.

Do they have lockers for our belongings? Can we bring our pet?…

They have lockers but tiny ones. You can open them to see if your belongings fit before purchasing them to rent out. They do allow animals (mostly just dogs) (must be leashed and must be friendly) but cannot go on the rides with you and must be left…

How long is the actual slide?

It depends how fast you go since you control the speed with your lever. If you decide to go fast, I'd say it's about a 5 minute ride.

Is this place a stroller friendly?

    Yes

Does everyone pay or only if you're riding?

It's free to come in and sit down on their benches and watch everyone, but if you want to go tubing or ride on any of their rides then you'll need to pay.

Do they make snow during the winter (like in December) if there's no snow?

Yes we make snow when it is cold enough. We are open daily in December.

Does the chair lift have a weight limit? Does the alpine slide have a weight limit?

DO NOT GO HERE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. Please look up their reviews. I went here with my family last winter. My 10 year old was badly injured. They didnt care. Just told us they would refund our money. Stay away.

Is there an area for smaller kids/toddlers to play in? Or is there a slower lane for adults with toddlers?

In the Snow Play area (tubing) we have a kiddy area for the smaller kids to ride down and play in the snow.

Is the Alpine slides slow if you weight a certain size because I'm planning a trip and I wouldn't mind paying 5rides if it's go a certain speed?

You control your speed on the ride down. Make sure to be safe if this is your first ride

The go-karts were probably the biggest thrill for me, with plenty of speed and just enough friendly competition to make every lap interesting. I also loved the ropes course, especially the way it's set up. Instead of following a single path, you pay for your time and can freely explore different obstacles and challenges at your own pace. There's even a small zip line mixed in, which was a fun surprise. The tubing was another highlight. There's something surprisingly exciting about launching down the hill on an inner tube and picking up serious speed, even in the springtime. Riding the magic carpet back to the top made it easy to squeeze in run after run without wearing myself out. Overall, it felt like a full day of active fun with enough variety to keep things interesting, and I left tired in the best possible way.

We got 3 races plus the bronze license which was about $200 per person in total. With this we got gloves and a head wrap thing to keep and you can use their helmets and jumpsuits. We were under the impression you had to wear long sleeves and pants period. BUT turns out you can either wear the long clothes (and just race like that) OR you can have short stuff on and use a jumpsuit. Thank you to the really nice patron that told us that! It is soooo hot out there and a jumpsuit over long clothes was suffocating and unbearable. We went on a Wednesday around 1130am for races starting at noon and had no real issues . All the employees were super nice and didn't give any attitude. The races were about 15-20 minutes apart. We called days ahead and were told weekends were their busiest days and you would likely be waiting over an hour in between races . No thanks. It looked very new and legit , like they hold actual racing tournaments there (I'm sure they do but we didn't ask). Very clean and the tater tots were delicioussss. We got all the information we needed at the very beginning. If anyone is like me , big doses of information go in one ear and out the other . With that being said I wish it was more beginner friendly. We were given all the information and were sent on our way. We didn't really know where to go, just kinda figured it out . Most of the help we got was from the very friendly patron mention above. Just little questions we had like "can we take our water bottle with us" or "can we leave our stuff out here?" ALSO , I am 5'9. My man is 6'3. Those carts are not meant for tall folks lol . The first race I kept getting cramps in my calf. By race 2 I was slightly more comfortable. Race 3 I didn't really notice as much anymore but just know, it is definitely and adjustment. All and all, really amazing experience. I'll give it a 4 because although the employees were nice and answered questions when we saw them, I wish we had like someone to guide us through it all being that it was our first time. At least for the first race. We will likely come back being that the license lasts a year but thank you guys for the awesome experience!

Originally, we were scheduled to race with a large group, but we asked if it would be possible to race with just the three of us. The employee helping us was kind enough to move us to a different race. We didn't mind waiting a little longer, and we really appreciated that accommodation. After our first race, we waited just a few minutes while another group raced, and then it was our turn again. The main reason I'm giving 3 stars is the price. For three people to race twice, plus the required license fees, it came to almost $200. That's a lot for a relatively short activity. Another reason for the rating was the customer service from some of the staff. At one point, we asked a group of employees for assistance, and instead of helping, they kept telling each other for the other to help. It didn't seem like anyone wanted to take responsibility. A little more teamwork and willingness to help customers would go a long way. Overall, the racing itself was fun, and I appreciated the employee who accommodated our request to race as our own group. If the pricing were more reasonable and the customer service more consistent, I'd have a much better experience.

The facility is well-maintained, and the helmets were in good condition with no unpleasant odors -- something I really appreciated. The overall environment felt safe and modern. We brought a child with us and asked if it was possible to group them with other kids. The staff was very accommodating and explained the different kart ranges available for younger drivers. For this most recent long three-day weekend in Lake Arrowhead we decided to finally give this place a try. We are two adults in our 30s with no kids. It is important to note that because honestly, this place is for children 10 and under. It is not for teens or adults. It is honestly pretty underwhelming if you are an adult, but it can be quite charming if you are a child. It is also $55 per person and $15 for parking which is a bit expensive, but I understand the inflated price due to the location and having to staff it. One thing about this place that is nice is they don't have a bunch of add-ons once you get inside, so you really do just pay one price unless you decide to get food as well. The other part of this park is specifically designed for people into mountain biking. They have six different trails ranging in difficulty from easy to difficult and about half of the visitors seemed to be doing that which we would go back specifically for. The activities for adults are pretty limited, so the main ones that we did were the bike in the air that goes around the rim of the property. This is the ride that you see in all the marketing and is the most popular. It was probably the most fun we had but it was honestly a bit scary once you get to the steepest point. It's about 50 feet above the ground so it would be quite a fall down. After that, we tried some archery and ax throwing which was surprisingly fun. After that, there was honestly nothing else that we could really do given our age and size so we headed out after that. This would be a great place to visit during December with children 10 and under because they do have Santa Claus and people in costumes and what not and each of the buildings is alpine themed and is very quaint. They also have a very large area that serves as a wedding location so I'm sure that is also another part of this place.
