My one and only experience with Al's is during the VGK playoffs. There were a ton of people in the place and all of them were having a great time including myself. Very busy, but the staff handled it very well. The food was good and I shared a lovely dessert with friends.

Our favorite Saturday dinner spot. The Saturday dbl burger special is great for the price. Cooked to order, and tasty. Service has been hit or miss but the regular girls are great. Polite, attentive and professional.

It's not just the food it's also the service that makes a meal. Jessica was an awesome server. Her friendly and helpful attitude really made our dinner more enjoyable. We enjoyed the Wedge Salad, a classic and favorite of mine and the hubs decided on the Steak & Crab Legs special. The steak was cooked to his preference and was tender and delicious. We shared the steak and salad while he took care of the crab legs. He said they were good and the seasoned really well. We would have loved some dessert, but we were full. Big thank you to Jessica! We enjoyed her hospitality very much.

Review #959 Posted on 10.30.25 We came here for lunch on Saturday the 25th for lunch when in town for my daughter's soccer tournament. This spot is right down the hill from a super nice suburb area of Vegas, called Sumerlin. We've got a buddy who used to live there. This bar had an old school type sports bar vibe to it. That part was cool, sports bars have lost their charm to people and don't seem to survive in California anymore. So it was refreshing to come here. The menu had a pretty nice range of stuff. We ended up getting the shrimp tacos, the fish n chips, & fried zucchini. Both shrimp tacos & fish n chips were good, zucchini was way way over fried. I'd come back when in town again. Cool experience.

This is all the fries we got. Not happy.

We have been going to Al's Garage for years. The food is excellent and the service has always been spot on. The recent visit we ordered take out. We always get the grilled chicken sandwich which we feel is the best chicken sandwich in town. And with that great sandwich comes the best steak fries in town. This time was disappointing. We ordered the chicken sandwich with the side of fries and cook I guess decided to forget to give us our normal portion. We thought it was kind of strange that the fries were on the bottom and the sandwich sat on the paper on top of the fries. Normally we get the sandwich and the fries are stuffed in the to go box. When you look at the photo. You will see why are disappointed. Fries are cheap and should be stacked in that little to go box. We will go back but we want our fries Al's Garage

Every day, enjoy $5 beers and $7 burgers on Saturdays--add a side of fries for just $5. There are a few cozy tables out front, perfect when the weather cooperates. The draft beer selection is a bit smaller than at their sister spot, John Cutter, right next door, but the staff is super friendly and helpful.

My Tri Tip grilled cheese was tough and had no cheese. That is the only reason for the three stars. Other than that, this place is pretty cool. An upscale bar for sure. Our waitress was so awesome I didn't want to complain at the moment. My brother and mom loved the Ruben! A little dark inside, but very clean (including bathrooms), and everything looked new. Yes, kids are permitted, they told me. The same owner as John Cutter next door. Would I come back? Sure. Why not.

Friends and food. Hungry today!!! Came for dessert and drinks

Frankie's Uptown is known as a Steelers gathering spot, and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for: energetic, welcoming, and a great place to catch a game. You need an environment that is sophisticated but not stuffy, lively but quiet enough for serious conversation, and supported by a culinary program that commands respect. The George Sportsmanship Lounge delivers on all of these fronts with remarkable grace, redefining what a modern business lunch can--and should--be. The Atmosphere: Polished Athletic Heritage Meets Executive Comfort Walking into George, you are immediately struck by how masterfully the design bridges the gap between a high-end club and a refined, modern lounge. The decor pays a tasteful, artistic homage to the spirit of "sportsmanship"--think rich leather banquettes, beautifully curated vintage sporting photography, warm walnut accents, and low, ambient lighting that feels incredibly exclusive. For a business lunch, the layout is exceptionally well-thought-out. The seating is spaced generously to offer genuine privacy for confidential conversations, and the acoustics are engineered beautifully; there is a vibrant hum of energy in the room, yet you never have to raise your voice to be heard across the table. It strikes the perfect balance of prestige and approachable comfort. The Food: A Masterclass in Contemporary American Cuisine While the ambiance sets the stage, the culinary execution is the true star of the show. The menu at George elevated our business lunch from a standard meeting into a memorable dining experience. We started with the Yellowtail Crudo, which was exceptionally fresh, accented with a vibrant citrus-yuzu vinaigrette and thinly sliced serrano peppers--a light, refreshing starter that perfectly primed the palate. For the mains, our table ordered the Dry-Aged Ribeye Frites and the Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass: The Ribeye: Cooked to a flawless medium-rare, the steak boasted an incredible crust and a rich, deeply savory flavor profile. Accompanied by truffle-infused hand-cut frites and a velvety chimichurri, it was a decadent but perfectly portioned lunch masterpiece. The Sea Bass: This dish was a revelation. Flaky, buttery, and resting on a bed of ginger-infused heirloom grains and baby bok choy, it was light enough for a midday meal while remaining deeply satisfying and complex in flavor. Even the non-alcoholic beverage program deserved applause; their mocktails, particularly the cucumber-basil press, were sophisticated and felt just as celebratory as a traditional cocktail. The Service: Impeccable, Swift, and Discreet Great food can easily be overshadowed by poor service, but at George, the staff understands the rhythm of a business lunch. From the moment we were greeted by the host, the service was seamless. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering precise recommendations and timing the courses beautifully. Crucially for a business meeting, the staff practiced "discreet hospitality"--they were highly attentive, ensuring water glasses were always filled and plates were cleared promptly, yet they never interrupted the flow of our conversation at critical moments. The entire meal was paced perfectly, wrapping up within a comfortable 75 minutes, leaving us plenty of time to return to the office without feeling rushed. The Verdict The George Sportsmanship Lounge successfully shatters the mold of the traditional, outdated steakhouse business lunch. By combining a stunningly curated, upscale atmosphere with world-class gastronomy and highly professional service, they have created the ultimate venue for the modern executive. It is a masterclass in hospitality, and it has easily secured its spot as my go-to recommendation for lunch meetings. Highly Recommended for: Client entertainment, executive team lunches, and power midday dining.

Opting for something "healthy", I ordered the poke salad. It certainly looks colorful and attractive. But once I started eating, there was so much bitterness that I had to pick through the salad. This combination doesn't work at all --- besides the tuna, there was the usual seaweed salad. But they added cucumber, arugula, fava (?) beans. Was that flying fish roe? Whatever they did to this salad, it was awful! They should have stuck to the traditional style. But what was also disappointing is the service. The waitress took our order, delivered the food, but didn't come back until it was time to pay. Absolutely no follow up, no asking how was everything, is there something else she can get for us, etc? Nada. I don't want to go back to this restauranta again. And will recommend someplace else if a dining companion asks to go there.

We stopped in for happy hour and were impressed by both the food and the service. Our server was on top of her game and had the perfect dry sense of humor--exactly my kind of personality. We ordered the nachos, beet salad, cheesy bread, and well drinks. The nachos were the clear standout. The portion was huge, and every single chip had cheese or beans on it--proof they know how to build a proper plate of nachos instead of leaving you with a pile of bare chips at the end. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the next day. While the second visit wasn't quite as exceptional as the first, it was still good. On our first visit, a friendly gentleman from the staff stopped by to check on us and chat, which added a nice personal touch. The second time around, we were mostly left on our own. After all it is located at their practice facility and is a brand owned by the Golden Knights owner. MacKenzie River Pizza originated in Montana so you will notice the influence in the food style and items including huckleberries and such. If you have never been there, the setup alone is worth the visit. The restaurant sits on the second level overlooking two ice rinks, one on each side, where the Vegas Golden Knights practice. Depending on the day, you might catch practice sessions, hockey tournaments, or people out free skating while you eat. It already has a cool atmosphere, but during Golden Knights games the energy is huge. We actually went twice in three days specifically to watch the Knights play on TV for the first two western conference championship games. Both nights the place was absolutely packed wall to wall with fans. This is not one of places with people watching different games on different screens. When the Knights score, the whole restaurant erupts. It honestly feels like a mini arena watch party. If you plan on going during a game, definitely make reservations because this place is packed on game days. The first year they didn't take reservations and we had to go two hours early to get seats. Food-wise, McKenzie River isn't just a pizza-focused restaurant, they do the whole Pub and Grill thing. One of the newer items we tried was the Boom Boom shrimp, and honestly, it ended up being one of my favorite versions of this dish anywhere. I was not expecting that from a Montana-based pizza place, but the shrimp were crispy, flavorful, and perfectly coated without drowning in sauce and you could still taste shrimp. Their Caesar salad is another thing we always order. It is actually one of my favorite Caesars in Las Vegas, mostly because they offer anchovies the way a proper Caesar should. We usually split a large, and it is honestly huge enough to feel like its own meal. For pizza, we went with the Italian Grinder, which we have ordered several times over the years. Think of an Italian sandwich turned into pizza form with layers of Italian meats, pepperoncini, and all those tangy, savory flavors working together. What really makes their pizza stand out though is the crust. Their regular crust has this buttery, almost rich texture that is different from most pizza places around town. I have tried the thin crust before and it is fine, but the regular crust is definitely something that stands out. We also tried the banh mi style flatbread. It was good and nicely done, although flatbreads just are not really my thing personally. The Slammers, had a great char flavor on the meat, and they come with a pile of crispy fried onions, which I absolutely loved. We felt like a dessert and there was a hot chocolate chip cookie and an apple cobbler with ice cream we were looking for and, because we couldn't decide, we ordered both. Mistake. These desserts are massive. One would have easily been enough to share. Between the two, I personally liked the apple cobbler more but would be happy with either Over the years, I have also had their fish and chips, meatloaf, and several other pizzas, the cowboy nachos and some great burgers. Honestly, I have never really had a bad meal there. Of course they have happy hour and game day specials. It's very nice well stocked bar. For previous games we have chosen to sit at the bar. Now, if you go during a Golden Knights game, you need to understand what experience you are signing up for. The service is not going to be ultra polished because the place is absolutely slammed. That said, our server on the last visit was phenomenal and somehow managed to keep up with everything without missing a beat. Very impressive considering how packed the restaurant was. At the end of the day, the food is consistently good, but the atmosphere is what really makes McKenzie River special. If you want that true Vegas Golden Knights fan energy without actually being inside T-Mobile Arena, this is probably the closest thing you are going to get.
