Guadalupe is the sweetest and one of the most talented seamstress I've ever encountered. That says a lot because my grandmother was a talented seamstress until she got dementia. Guadalupe has extremely reasonable prices and quick turn around. I've been to her a lot because I've been blessed? cursed? with a tiny waist and a thick bottom so I bring her most of my pants. And her work is always seamlessly perfect. She even altered a very complicated bridesmaid dress for me with no problem and it looked it flawless! Went to get my wool coat sleeves hemmed, called first to check it was open, the place was a little hard to find the first time since its on the 2nd floor in a small, older little building. Free parking out front on the main street(Figueroa). She was welcoming, friendly and professional. She speaks English and Spanish. She had me try on my coat so she could take measurements for the alteration. Overall, turnaround time was very fast, prices are very affordable and fair. This place was a little difficult to find. It is in what looks like an apartment building but there are actually businesses in the units. I took a dress and jumpsuit to be altered. I paid $25 total. She only takes cash. I dropped off my garments on a Friday and they were ready by Tuesday. She did a good job and will return if I need other items altered. read more

Excellent service and prices, with a reasonably quick turnaround. This was my first experience with Guadalupe, and I am thoroughly impressed with her skilled craftsmanship. I had two pinpoint shirts that needed The cuff buttons relocated and sleeves/torso taken in. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and was out about 20 minutes later. Shirts were ready the following Wednesday. She made the torso/sleeve adjustments at the shirt's existing seams. Very clean seamwork. The office is quite cramped; all business and changing occurs in the tiny front room of what appears to be a repurposed motel room. The changing area is crude: a bathtub-sized area contained by a wraparound curtain. Since I was only getting shirts fitted, it was adequately sized, but I imagine changing pants would be a more challenging task. Guadalupe is very pleasant, and her limited English is sufficient for the purposes of the fitting. Her fitting skills easily transcend the language barrier. This is a cash only place. Free one hour street parking is available directly in front of the building. read more

Guadalupe did a great job tailoring my workout pants. I bought a pair of generic Reebok workout pants. They were my size on the waist, but they were long in leg length and very baggy. If it rained, these pants would get soaked because they going over my shoes. I came to Guadalupe and she measured the pants to my legs and I got them now in the right length and the right cut around the leg (modern/slim). 2 day turn around. $12 for the job. read more

I hate to leave a poor review for anyone, but I'm really disappointed I brought 1-a garment that I needed in a real time crunch and could only pick it up during a certain window and 2-a really expensive garment with internal structures that were important to the fit. The first garment was not only not ready when it was supposed to be (after I clearly explained I needed for the day I was picking it up), but she couldn't find it and I had to help her find it. She worked on it right away once I helped her find it, but then it needed adjustments and it made me late to the event. The second garment was an expensive garment that had an internal belt. When I tried on the garment I noticed the internal belt was just cut off, completely gone, and the stitches on the inside were sloppy with fabric folded over into itself. Thankfully there was someone there to help interpret what was wrong, and she said she'd add the hook back in but the length of the belt is gone. I wish she had someone there to help Interpret all the time, I wouldn't have brought my garments here if I had known that a helper she had when I dropped off the garment wasn't always there. Nonetheless I'm really upset about my expensive garment, and at this point there's nothing I can do to fix that except warn people not to take anything but straightforward alterations here. She's a nice lady and I don't mean any ill-will but it's really upsetting to spend a lot of money on a nice piece of clothing and have it diminished like this. read more
