I stayed at the Astra Hotel for the weekend, so I was able to spend plenty of time at Altitude. This place works for all sorts of occasions and needs. It works for an early happy hour spot, if you want to grab a beer and check out the view. Of course, it's also a nighttime spot, but you'll have to deal with lots more competition to get in. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and the staff wrote him a nice little card. The menu itself was small and underwhelming, but the sliders were shockingly delicious. Drinks were on the pricier side, but the view was well worth it. The DJ kept the place lively and the bartenders made perfect green-tea shots. The view on a sunny day is unbeatable, you can see the sun setting behind the Queen Anne hills from here with the downtown buildings and of course, the space needle! Has plenty of seating. It's located in astra hotel, they told us we could go upstairs but a table wasn't available but when we went up there the tables were kinda empty so we sat at one. So I'm not sure how the seating works here. When I went around July 2023 they didn't have a lot of staff so I had to order at the bar, not sure if that has changed. I ordered a cocktail called south lake split which tasted like an appletini. We went to another bar with better music and vibes after watching the sunset here. Honestly their staff are not ones of with high skillsets. I have visited a couple times and have not had the best experience. Especially the second time I made a reservation and attended. The next morning, I got an email saying I was charged a no-show fee of $100. I tried calling several times and no luck. Do not recommend! I paid a $25 reservation fee for a table of 7 and never got refunded the $200 after taxes. They reached back out to me and said the $25 reservation fee is not a refundable deposit. So I paid $200 to get a small bar height table right in front of the elevators and next to bar line so the whole time we have people going around the table and giving us no space or privacy? This is ridiculous. My bill came out over $400 for food and drinks and you're still charging me $200 on top of that. read more

How has this gem been in SLU and I'm just now hearing about it?! Went for happy hour with some coworkers one Thursday. It was a beautiful day and we had a great view of the Space Needle. The staff had opened the deck doors so let the light in. Our server was so friendly and recommended her favorite things on the menu. We practically ordered one of everything. I wanted to check out a rooftop bar to enjoy Seattle's summer sunset and was able to snag a reservation here on a Saturday evening the week before. We arrived and checked in early, but waited at the hotel lobby until our reservation time. We were then brought up to the lounge area, and all was well. Upon getting seated, we were immediately served water and was able to look through the menu presented through the QR code on the table. However, no one came by our table after that. We sat there for 25 minutes before having to flag someone down to take our order and voiced how it had been 25 minutes. I don't even know how long we would have had to wait if we didn't call for someone ourselves. Shortly after, someone came to take our order and our drinks came promptly. They had also given us complimentary champagne for the wait. I got the Garden Party and my partner got the Altitude 170, which we both thought were decent. The view outdoors is beautiful and we were able to catch the sunset. I also really liked the two DJs that played while we were there! The first one played house and the second one did a lot of throwback songs, which was fun. I also appreciated the heaters and fire pits that turned on once the sun had set. Overall, I liked the environment of the lounge and can see it as a fun place to gather with a small group of friends to catch up on a nice day. However, for the prices of the drinks and how limited reservations are, I expected service to be better and am hesitant to come back again. read more

I've been in search of a good rooftop lounge for a while in Seattle. Seeing the 3.5 star rating, I hesitated to make reservations initially. I figured the "meh" reviews were worth it to enjoy the view. I was pleasantly surprised at the service. The hostess and our waiter were extremely nice and attentive. I made an outside seating reservation for 4:30PM, and when we felt ourselves overheating, the hostess pleasantly moved us inside. We ordered some food and drink. The "who done burnt it" spread presentation was nice and tasteful. We also ordered the "hot n bothered" cocktail. It was shockingly small for $20 but tasted great. Overall, a little on the spendier side but worth it for the view. Parking was fine and there is valet, but on the same block there is a parking garage that is free from 4PM-2AM, so I suggest parking there. A word of warning: the patio gets VERY hot. The table was incredibly warm since the sun beamed on the metal. I suggest making reservations inside up until near sunset. Otherwise, get ready to cook. read more

the first experience set such a high standard that this visit would be considered a joke... the service from start to the end was horrible for my reservation. the rooftop had such a fun vibe until it then got killed by the service i received. we were greeted yesterday with such a rude hostess but brushed it off to then be ignored at my table for 30 minutes by multiple servers that walked by was truly inexcusable especially as i tried to get their attention. we got our orders but since they came to us so late, the kitchen was closed and we had about 20 minutes left before the bar closed. the server told me that we "got lost in the sauce" as there was a "famous person" party in the back to excuse them not doing their sole job. i did like my first paloma and the pornstar martini but the mojito we ordered wasn't muddled at all. we decided to get a paloma instead but it was so badly made compared to the first one we had. read more

Be aware of greedy charges for large party reservations. I was looking to book for a large party and they charge a $25pp booking fee. This isn't a refundable deposit in case of a no show - or a deposit applied to your final bill, they are literally charging you to reserve a table. What sealed the deal for me on thinking this place is greedy is the 18% service charge for making a reservation.
