My new favorite Thai place, and I've been to them all. I like the inside, it's clean and feels comfortable. The Tom Ka was great !!! Prices good. Pad See Eu was amazing, the broccoli and carrots steamed perfect, not overdone. The Cashew Chicken had a great flavor with perfectly steamed vegies also. I have always been a huge fan of Lucky Thai, so I am so glad they have another spot in Ventura. Though you will not get the ambiance of the beach next door, it is the same hospitality and great flavors. The staff was very kind and the food came out quickly. They have outdoor seating as well. I was in the area so I decided to try this place. I only ordered a few items but this is not somewhere I would try again. I came 30 minutes before their posted closing time, so I opted to order take out. I ordered basics that should be great at any Thai place. The curry turned out to be extremely sweet. I've had desserts that weren't even as sweet as the curry served here. The chicken in each of the dishes we ordered was bland and rubbery, which leads me to believe that the meat is pre-cooked unseasoned to make the cooking process faster when things are cooked to order. After eating our disappointing dinner, I thought at least I have mango sticky rice to finish off with. I have never had a bad mango sticky rice until tonight. The rice was hard on the edges because it was over warmed in the microwave before serving (I watched this being prepared) and the mango was not fresh. I am surprised they even served the mango in the state that it was in. read more

I love this restaurant! The food is fresh and fabulous. My favorites are Pad Thai Noodles and Lard Na Noodles, and everything here is good. I'm vegan, and most of their dishes have vegan and vegetarian options. They have a cute little patio out front with a heater when it's cold at night, and they'll have some indoor seating, too, once the COVID restrictions have been lifted. It's not inexpensive, but the food is of the highest quality, cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully. The people who work here are warm, friendly and just lovely. With my grocery shopping at WinCo next door, this new Thai place looked worth a try. I decided to meet several friends for a next day lunch take-out order and eat & socialize at AM Noodle's outdoor patio. I decided to use their ONLINE food order website attached to their hub website on the night before the lunch with friends. Not too complicated, right ? The night before the lunch date and time, I made a $35 order to get the AM Noodles 'first time customer' discount. (A nice idea.) Even their ordering food site had a 'comments' section that I used to tell them the order was for the next day lunch pick-up around 1 PM. (This was a huge problem for my order) The food ordering site was so confusing and required me to too much time online ordering. (Approx 40 minutes !) After all that time, I paid by my credit card. Then, my order was rewarded with the disappointment message that my order went through, but was rejected by the site. The AM Noodle site said that. And my credit refund would take 5 to 7 business days to be refunded back into my account !!??? I immediately called the store, only to find out what's going one with this simple matter. I talked to a staff member who babbled on and on about matters not connected to my failed but charged credit card account. I asked why their food ordering website didn't confirm his comments to me about the site only being used for immediate food ordering, not for the next day lunch. And that he told me the store might be closed on the next day for business....more & more confusion from the store staff. I began to like I was involved in a store scam with my credit card info. I lost my confidence in this business and Thai eatery. I went on to my credit card issuer to make sure this matter was correct. What a stupid hastle !!!! BUYER BEWARE ! Never going back. PS....With many phone calls later; my credit card agent found out that this charge was removed days latter. NOT good customer service done or shown. read more

I am in no way an expert on Ramen, just know what I like. Their Ramen was great! First, it took 20 minutes to get my Ramen. When I got it, got home and unpacked i now know why. After the 1st bite I was in love. First, the broth was so smooth and tasty. So much flavor. The to go container is great. They separated the noodles, meat and all the other ingredients till you're ready to eat. My order was the Shoyu Ramen Soy Sauce soup. Had tempura shrimp, soft boiled egg, bamboo and pork. So tasty. Outdoor patio seating, food was good and the service was great! We ordered the duck noodle soup, drunken noodles and pork shumai. The duck soup was really good, a bit on the sweeter side but I would order it again. I finished the entire bowl and usually I can never finish a whole noodle soup bowl.. it was refreshing with the veggies and the egg noodles were the perfect consistency. The drunken noodles were good as well but in my opinion should have spice level options, I forgot to ask if they could make it spicy so maybe they do? I'm not sure.. but either way it had good flavor and the shrimps added were big and a good amount. The pork shumai were really big also! Only 4 pieces but they're big and worth it. I also enjoyed the little side salad that came with it. We got 2 Thai iced teas to go and they were good as well, and not too sweet just how I like it. I would recommend this place 100%.. they are kind of hidden on the side of winco. The only think I would say is the outdoor patio was really dusty, but then again it is outside so I understand. Then a staff came over, told us to order at counter, while another party walked in and sat down. NEXT, I walked over to counter wait in line. We saw this place open, and decided to try it out. Not very many ramen places in the Ventura area. Ordered it to go and each bowl is around $15 which off the bat should have been a red flag. The waitress sat us down and handed us menus. The formatting of the menus for the whole ramen section wasn't very detailed about what was in it. It was just general information on the types of ramen ex: "This type of ramen could be used with chicken or beef broth and is usually found at most ramen restaurants" Very confusing. So we asked the waitress about it and she pointed us to a sign on the front window of the store and said "Its like the pictures" Mind you there are 30 different pictures and 3 types of ramen. So we just roll with it and we each get a bowl of ramen. Once we get the ramen home, there was an immediate strong fish smell. Completely filling the apartment. After we take off some of the toppings we didn't want (Cause again we weren't told what actually came on it) we tried to eat it. The broth was very salty and otherwise flavorless. There were two quarter sized pieces of meat in there that were dry as hell and overcooked. The noodles were either Uncle Ben's microwave brand or Instant ramen.. Undercooked. The toppings that they had put in there mostly fish type stuff, had changed the flavor of the noodles themselves and it was very conflicting. Being optimistic I thought, I'll add some spices and maybe see if I can fix this. No chef in the world could have fixed this meal. We threw most of it away before my friend said we should call and ask about a refund. I made the call asking about refund policies, they asked what was wrong per usual, and I told them the food was in parts undercooked and overcooked and the quality was not great. The woman said "ok" and sat silent for 10 seconds before I asked to be handed to someone else. Which I was handed to what I was told later was the "Co-Owner" He asked what the problem was so I politely repeated. I asked what the policy was and he said to bring the food and we could get a refund so I said ok. We got our bowls and stuff out of the trash and started the journey across town back to the restaurant. When we arrived we were met by the lady who had served us earlier and we told her the problem. she said "Its not full" to which I had to explain that we had to try the food in order to know it was bad. By this point the "Co Owner" came out and started yelling at me asking why I hadn't come back immediately. I said I live across town and it took a while because of an errand I ran in-between. He said "No that's not what happened. Burger King and McDonalds don't do refunds" Mind you, this man just told me over the phone that if I brought back the food he would refund the food. So he kept yelling at us and eventually went back inside screaming that we were in no way getting a refund. The waitress on the other hand said that she would "Only be able to refund half of our check" Which would only be $15 out of a $30 order. Her reasoning for that was because "She wouldn't get paid" Its not that it was against policy to get a full refund its that it would effect her. I told her we had no issue with her and that it was the chef's issue and we would take it up with the owner and she kept trying to guilt us into taking a half refund because of her paycheck. I told her that over the phone I was told a full refund... So she took the receipt inside and voided the transaction giving us the full refund. The entire time the Chef's and "Co-Owner" were dogging us out from inside the store, and taking our pictures for some reason... When the waitress came back with our new receipts, my friend (Who had ordered on another tab and was getting a refund as well) asked what the man's name was who yelled at us. The waitress responded with "I don't know who he is" and "He's the co-owner." To which point the "Co Owner" came out and began yelling at us to leave and never come back. There will be no problem with that. (unless the refund isn't accurately processed) I will never go back and I will never wish this quality food on anyone. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that if you cook some top ramen at home it will always come out better than the garbage they sell here. A refund is a simple question and while awkward to ask about should not be met with the hostility shown by the staff at this place. I have never had such crap food that I needed to refund or go through the hoops I needed to tonight. read more
