I have had a number of Pet Groomers over the years and am SO HAPPY to have found Amanda! My little man, Binx, is a handful, and Amanda is able to take care of his nails and ears without issue. She has even helped me get him out from under the bed when it is time for his nail trim (how is that for A-1 service!!). I am very curious where these fake negative reviews are coming from? Also astonished by the number of people who cancel at the last minute? This is no different than making an appointment with a hairdresser -- if you cancel at the last minute or no-show, there is a fee. Come on, people, Amanda is a professional, and if we expect professional services for our fur babies, we need to treat her as such. Amanda squeezed our cat in for a matte removal appt in her already busy schedule. She came to the house and promptly collected our long haired cutie (ready in carrier as requested.) She took him to her van and was back with our handsome, happy boy in about 20min! He got a belly shave (took care of a couple bad mattes) and sani shave. He looked great and was not traumatised in the slightest. She was clear with her instructions before the appt and kept good communication. I have a 14 year old cat who decided he was done with being brushed about a year ago. Even with a heavy dose of gabapentin and trazodone, he morphs into an absolute demon with any grooming attempt. He started to get mats so we needed to do something. We tried two other groomers who were barely able to trim his nails. We decided we would make one last attempt with Amanda before asking a vet to fully sedate him. Well,somehow, Amanda pulled off a miracle. Amanda did a fantastic job grooming our senior cat, Charlie. He is 17 years old and had some pretty bad matting on his legs, belly and chest. i have had several good experiences with amanda, but the last experience was so awful that i decided never to use her services again. she cut off my cat's whiskers and when i asked her about it, she said it was an accident that happened because she was trying to avoid getting bit by him. i was very upset because it's harmful to cut off a cat's whiskers and he was clearly very distressed about it. i understand that accidents happen, but she didn't even notify me that it happened. she also said both of my cats were very aggressive and were biting and scratching her and said they needed bigger doses of gabapentin, significantly more than what my vet said was the safe maximum dosage for their weight. at a previous visit to her house, i was parked behind the grooming van and could hear one of my cats screaming the entire time, even over the sound of my stereo and the machines in the van. he's a very vocal cat, so i just assumed he was being extra expressive. i took both of my cats to a different groomer recently and warned him about what amanda had said about their behavior. he was able to groom them with no issues - not a single bite or scratch, not even an attempt to do so. my fear is that amanda was not treating my cats gently or with the care and understanding that cats need. if you are considering taking your cats to amanda, please read through all of the negative reviews before deciding whether to use her services. be aware that she will harass you if you leave a negative review. extremely unprofessional. she immediately texted me after this. read more

Amanda was our Christmas angel. Highly recommend!! 10 out of 5 stars!! On Christmas Eve, we woke up realizing our long hair cat has poops ALL OVER his butt. We did our best to clean but it was impossible to fully clean him. His nail was sharp and he scratched us all over the place. In the meantime, he scoots on the floor and as you can imagine, it was a pure nightmare. Our cats are very clean but our youngest (who is a medium / long haired ginger) had some dental work done and it took a little longer than expected for his anesthesia to wear off. He made a big mess in his litter box and all over himself and was not at all cooperative in our attempts to bathe him (major wiggle worm). Everyone was miserable. Amanda was able to fit us in the same day and get him a bath and low key sanitary clip. He was so soft afterwards and happy as a clam. Amanda explicitly asked me not to write this review after she refunded my money. I'd offered to still pay her half for her trouble, but instead, she said to keep all of it "so you don't write me a bad review". I informed her I would leave a fair review, and to that she stated that she would reply with what we had discussed. I hope she does so honestly and without malice, like I have done in my review. I will start by assuring her that I am not trying to "ruin her livelihood" as she said I was. I am only explaining what happened, and from this you can better understand how to prepare for an appointment if you choose to book with her. She claims this has never happened to her before. The appointment: She made no mention of it prior, and we are first-time pet owners, so we didn't tell her that our cat would be on gabapentin when we scheduled our appointment. However, we informed her when she arrived 15 minutes before our appointment time. She didn't say that it would be an issue then - only after the appointment when we expressed our dissatisfaction over text. I also mentioned very clearly that it still needed 15 minutes to kick in as I had timed for it to be in effect by the original appointment time. She began anyway and had to muzzle him and use a hood. I have no problem with that since he was being rowdy, and she said he was fine after 15 minutes anyway, like I planned. However, she claimed afterward that I didn't warn her he would be feisty. I guess I could have made it clearer that he really needed the gabapentin to be calm, but I (mistakenly) thought it'd be obvious. The result: We told her that we wanted a trim and to focus on his bum. I mentioned a trim many times, and she responded saying she would give him a "short cut". Apparently "a trim" is too vague, and she took it to mean a short cut, which took off more than an inch of hair (we know because we have trimmed him before with a one-inch clipper), although she claims it was a half inch. More importantly, the cut is choppy and does not look good (see the before and after photos). Also, his nails are splitting and dull after she cut them, which has never happened before. She said, after I complained, that I had been vague, but she had made no attempt to clarify what I wanted before beginning. She repeatedly said she would give him a short cut, which I took to mean a trim because I had repeatedly said trim the whole time. I don't know why she didn't clarify if I was being vague, especially when she was using an entirely different term. A professional should make sure that they and their client are on the same page before proceeding. The unprofessionalism: In our correspondence afterward, she told me I should have been clearer because she can't read my mind. She told me to bring reference photos next time, which makes sense, but I found her lack of prior discussion, and especially her saying that she can't read my mind, very unprofessional. Other unprofessional behaviors were guilt-tripping texts: "I don't think you need to try to ruin my livelihood" and, after I wished her well several times, "I am not having a very good day thanks. Now I am just a ball of anxiety while I groom the last several cats." I can't speak for more experienced pet owners, but I would not recommend her to first-timers. Perhaps meeting her more than halfway and preparing pictures would be best, since she does not attempt to understand your request unless it's one the three options she mentioned to me: short cut, buzz, and lion cut. I truly hope nothing goes wrong during your appointment because while she will give you a refund, it is not a pleasant experience and she does not admit any wrongdoing on her part. Again, I'm not trying to ruin anyone's business, but I can't recommend her. read more

I contacted Amanda about our older FIV+ former stray who was desperately in need of a de-matting. Amanda replied promptly and professionally, and since I am outside the service area, suggested that we bring Smokey to her. I let her know that Smokey would be on gabapentin to keep him calmer and easier to groom. When I arrived at her location Amanda greeted me within 5 minutes, and we discussed what was best for Smokey. He was badly matted under his neck and all along his belly and also needed a sanitary trim. I asked her to use her judgement as to just removing the mats, or clipping him completely, based on what worked best once she started grooming. She let me know that it would take about an hour, so I went to lunch and ran some errands. Promptly 1 hour later, I got a text that Smokey was ready, and I returned to pick him up. Amanda let me know that Smokey did well, even though he was not happy with some of the grooming (this was probably the first grooming he'd every had after 10+ years of being a stray). Smokey was completely fine and happy when we got home after the trim. Amanda has managed to save the majority of his coat, clipping his belly and trimming the coat short under his neck. Smokey looked like a cute teddy bear! I would definitely recommend Amanda for cat grooming services. I felt like she was gentle and professional at all times, and felt safe and confident leaving Smokey in her care. First time ever giving my 6 year old cat a spa like treatment with Amanda. When I contacted her she was so booked that I had to wait almost 4 weeks! Amanda confirmed the appointment the same morning, then let me know when she was on her way. She got home earlier than expected. My cat who is an old soul, super mellow and sweet, got pretty scared and started hissing ( extremely unusual) Amanda was very calm and sweet, she offered to see how my cat behaved and keep the appointment if all good.
