One of our favorite Thai restaurants. They have delicious food and take the time and care to prepare it.

In the Boot Ranch area for doctor visits, my wife and I stopped by Amarit for lunch. Seated right away I took a few minutes to look around at the decor. All the appointments certainly put me in a Far East mood. Looking over the menu my wife chose the luncheon Fried Rice with Chicken. I decided on the luncheon Shrimp Sauté with mixed vegetables. We discussed the spiciness with the waitress and assured her d bwe did want the Thai Hot spice, well acquainted with the heat level. She also picked the Veggie soup while I chose the Chicken soup, to go along with our salads. We discussed our day and schedules. We gave thanks for the food, for good health and the gorgeous Florida weather. Shortly our soup and salads came. Salad was fresh, crisp, cold and nice. Soup was warm, not really hot, but tasty. A bit later our meals came. Initial tastes confirmed that the chef had indeed listened to our request. Wonderfully spicy! My wife thoroughly enjoyed her usual - Fried Rice. My shrimp was spiced perfectly and the mix of veggies was crisp and yummy. Even without any appetizers, the luncheon dishes were large and half came home with us for later. Good food, good service, great atmosphere, we will definitely be back to try other items. At least I will, the wife will undoubtedly get the Fried Rice! read more

Neither one of us felt like cooking or driving very far. We settled on Amari which is close to where we live. He had soft shell crabs and I had scallops. Both dishes were wonderful. We had nothing to box up! Thee we service was friendly and attentive. The decor is truly Thai, lots of red and gold. My water glass was refilled often. read more

We absolutely love this restaurant! The food and the staff are OUTSTANDING! We are hooked! The serving portions are so wonderful that we always have leftovers to take home for another meal. My husband and I went here on a whim and so glad we did. It's the best Thai food we've had. It's small yet quaint. Service was excellent. Everyone was very nice and always there if we needed them. The food is amazing. My husband and I wanted to try so many different dishes we over ordered, but they were just as good for leftovers. I highly recommend them. We will become regulars. read more

It is good, but never spicy enough. I lived in Bangkok for five years, and if Thai food is not spicy enough, it's just Chinese food.

The reviews on here would lead you to believe that a great meal awaits at Amarit...well it was mediocre. Ordered take-out and considered the prices a little high, but still wanted to try it, based on the reviews and how close to my home it is. The masuman curry and black garlic chicken were incredibly watery and had no depth of flavor...at all. Seriously boring. The pad thai was a good sized portion, but also flavorless. The sticky rice was really good, but not amazing enough for me to return. Maybe the usual chef called in sick? Either way, I'll ass on this spot. read more

Good Thai food if you're looking for something quick with good portions. However, both of our main entrees--Chicken Pad Thai and Tofu Red Curry--lacked the depth of flavor we were hoping for. The Pad Thai was good but bland, and the curry didn't have the rich, aromatic taste we expect from a red curry. Additionally, the Ginger Salad ($8.95) was mostly just 1-2 cups of iceberg lettuce with a good ginger dressing, but it felt very overpriced for what it was. Will definitely go back if we don't have time to drive to Blue Sake in Dunedin. Blue Sake has been consistently excellent. read more

This place has been on my visit hit list for some time now because of the many great reviews. So why 3 stars? Sit down, take a load off, and let me enlighten you. On arrival the restaurant was full and we had a short wait before getting seated. There seemed to be a shortage of wait staff but they were getting the job done it appeared. We were seated and it took a few to get drink orders in, which were brought promptly. Then we waited. The waitress came to take our order after a moderate wait... but WAIT! We had been seated without menus and none of the three previous visits by staff brought menus either. Once menus were procured, our order went in quickly. The app came out after another moderate wait....but WAIT!! We waited some time for our orders to arrive. Long enough to get drink refills at least once, for me to finish off my pot of hot tea and start on my water. When the meal arrived it was hot and sizzling (we both ordered variations on the crispy duck) however they didn't bring both plates at once and left us wondering how long until the other plate would arrive. Fortunately that wasn't long. The food itself was fresh, hot, and good, but not the best Thai I've ever had (crispy duck is my go-to rule of measure for these things). The duck was good but there were some very chewy parts that made me think they simply cooked it too long. Overall, while I might go back for a second try, I wouldn't expect to go for a quick bite or take any famished people with me. We arrived at 6:30p and received our main course at nearly 8pm. I understand this isn't a fast food place, but that seems long to me even for a sit down restaurant. read more

Four of us tried this restaurant last night, three were new to the restaurant. I ordered the curry chicken with broccoli and found it very bland. I never salt anything but I had to salt this, a few times. We sat at our table for about 10 or 15 minutes before anyone even came over. Their appetizers and soups are also very expensive considering it's a bowl of seasoned water. If they brought that down a few dollars they would probably sell more. Why 4 stars? Good Thai Food Options, and the spicy tuna rolls and calamari are awesome! Been here a few times for lunch lately, and it seems as though it is a pretty solid Lunchtime option to meet up with a few friends. We come here about one or two times a month with a group of my friends who work in the area, and it's great to get out, get a quick lunch and get back to work. For the Thai Standby of Pad Thai, I think it is very good and fresh tasting. I usually order Thai on the hot side but found that Medium was fairly perfect for this dish. The other dish of basil chicken stir fry was amazing. I like the lunch specials where you can pick your stir fry type (basil, curry, peanut, etc), and the protein. The meal included a spring roll and a nice tasty cup of rice soup. All in all, this is my 'healthy' option unless I add some calamari or spicy tuna roll or .... both! Then it is just gluttony, but I feel better because the vegetables in the stir fry balances it out, right??? read more

Very decent Thai food, prices are slightly higher than average but not too crazy. The staff is always very pleasant to deal with. Located in a strip mall near Publix, right next to a FedEx, easy to find and plenty of parking. I highly recommend the black sticky rice as desert, it's so good! read more

My whole family has been going here for years. They know my husband by name. We even catered from here for one of my pre-wedding events. Everything from the ambiance, decor, cleanliness, service and food, is all excellent!!! Our favorite dishes are their pad Thai and panang curry. I've never seen such big portions at a thai restaurant. You can request a spice level of your choice and they will also give you a spice tray if needed. Their thai tea and soups are great too! They also have a sushi bar. I've never tried it but it looks fresh! If you go for lunch they have a good lunch special that comes with soup and spring roll. It doesn't matter if you go for lunch, take out, or dinner... They will not disappoint! I will continue to go here and really suggest that if you haven't already done so, to come check it out!! read more

My partner and I live nearby this shopping center and decided to try this GEM of a place! I have been to many Thai places and let me tell you--this is by far the best one! The service was so friendly and Pam was amazing, she made our experience so memorable and special. The ambiance and decor is also very classy and artfully done. We ordered the cream cheese ragoons to start--just wow! They are so unique and infused with curry, nice and crispy and full of flavor--10/10! I ordered the sweet and sour pork with jasmine rice and my guy had the Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. Both dishes were huge generous portions and so fresh and flavorful, the vegetables in my pork dish were so crisp and fresh and the sauce had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. His pad Thai was delicious too because I had to try a bite. And the best part was dessert--black sticky rice with the creamiest most delicious coconut ice cream I ever had in my life. The black sticky rice was the best too--perfectly sweet, rich and warm which contrasted perfectly against the cold ice cream. I love the Pad Thai and the service is fast and friendly. The ambiance is perfect for dinner after a long day as well.

After eating here probably 10-12 times previously, we were both disappointed with the quality of the chicken we had in our appetizer -and- in the Pad Thai entrée. The waitress was very nice and admitted that this has been a complaint she's heard before...saying it may be due to overcooking. But we're wondering about the selection and preparation of the chicken to begin with. BOTH of those dishes had some pieces that were pretty chewy. We're giving it 3 stars because with the high prices Amarit is charging, we should expect nothing but a quality meal. This might have been our last trip for a while. Sorry to say, as we like the ambience, but like so many good places, ultimately it often seems like management takes their eye off the ball. Whether it's a poor chef, or the quality of chicken they buy, it's not worth our $80 - for a meal for two (with no drinks). Our next Thai meal will be a new adventure. read more

I was truly pleasantly surprised by the Amarit Thai restaurant. Inside the place is small, but richly appointed in reds and golds, the tables are comfortable and neatly spaced. At 7:30 on Thursday, it was not terribly busy, so the meal was paced appropriately, nothing was rushed. They do not have a huge or complex menu like some other places. A sheet with specials and then a simple menu, deconstructed with the meats and offerings. We got our usual starters, for me that is Chicken Satay, the husbeast likes his Shrimp Tam Ka soup and of course fresh spring rolls. Dinner itself was pork with broccoli and cashew for me done in mild and for the husbeast he got one of the sizzling shrimp plates done Thai hot. Everything was super fresh, and I must note that the spring rolls were filled with layer and layer of lettuce vs others that are done with rice noodles and just a touch of lettuce. They were tasty but not what I was expecting. The Satay was tasty and done just right, and the husbeast said that while he'd asked for Thai Hot, it was more American Hot, and while that's ok for some, he prefers to cry when he eats his food. *grin* Over all, I'd come back as I found it tasty and clean. read more
