I am impressed, it was super clean, and it's cool how there's a Krispy Kreme right when you walk in, I wasn't expecting that. The sushi bar and pizza bar are what made it really cool to me, and the prices seem really reasonable overall. Next time I'm back in the area I'll definitely stop by again. read more

So the item I ordered was listed as IN STOCK. I specified NO SUBSTITUTION. The item was substituted AND not listed in my order (only the original item was listed) so I couldn't use the app to get a refund. I went into the store and to the customer service area. The associate looked up the item. She says "I don't think we carry that" after I SHOWED her the item listed as IN STOCK on the store app. Then "I don't see it here" as I WATCHED HER SCROLL RIGHT PAST THE ITEM! Cool shopping experience with a smart cart. You grab a cart, log into your account, then shop. As you put items into your cart it identifies and starts totaling your items. Yes it also recognizes if you remove an item from the cart. There are a few things the cart has issues with such as discounted items, but there is a regular check out line if you don't want to use the smart cart or need help. It's very convenient if you're an introvert who would prefer not interacting with people or if you just want a faster checkout experience. read more

I definitely want to be positive here, and I will, but a few glitches are making me not want to return. Second time here and the second time I had glitches. But this is the first time I decided to use the automatic cart with my app. It started off well, but the drawback is that only 4 bags are able to fit in the cart, although I only used 2 bags this time. Some of the items were showing inside the bag, but when I looked, it was showing 4 of the same item! It's not good at all, as this is a major glitch. That would mean someone who isn't paying attention may be charged for items, but only one purchased? I don't like this glitch at all. I noticed the cart kept flickering on and off as they were electrical. I let one of the employees know, and they deleted extra non purchased items. Please let it be noted that out of 10 employees encou tired on this visit, 8 were super friendly with pleasantries. 2 didn't bother acknowledging me, but it's no big deal. That's still a score qhen that many are super friendly. Now, towards the end of my visit, I asked where I would go and was told to go through the green arrows since I am using the app. Well, guess what? My cart had a message to go through the cashier lanes. When I went to the cashier, she stated she would have yo check me out as there seems to be a glitch in the cart! This is what I didn't want to do! She literally said, "None of us know how to work these carts as the girl who works on them comes in once in a while." Major drawback! Now the inconvenience was: what was the whole point of coming in today if it wasn't going to work? What should have been a 20-minute experience ended up being a whole 45-minute ordeal. I'm not impressed at all! And mind you, this was the 2nd time I've come here as that is usually the case before I make a review. I so wanted to keep coming back, but this discourages me. Of course, I am coming back again, but one more glitch, and my score goes lower than low. Come on, Amazon, teach employees to know the electrical carts and how to use them please. Although the cashier was so apologetic and kind, it's not her fault. She was a gem, but it took me a lot longer to leave when I still have to work. I was super excited to visit this store. When I got there, I had my cell phone out, scanned my QR code and started rolling the dash cart. Shortly after, what I thought would've been a fun experience got a bit stressful and time consuming lol Some produce item numbers were not labeled on the shelves so it was hard to "scan" the item to put in the cart or know the number to input in the cart. Some times, items would double scan and I would have to figure out how to "remove" it from my cart. Which, you can't unless you get an employee to help you. One thing I did notice is when buying items that needs to be weighed, you might have 3 oranges in your bag but the cart will charge you for 4 oranges. It was weird because I've manually weighed the oranges on the scale and although the dash cart was charging me for 4 oranges, the price still came out the same... something to watch out for when using the dash cart. There were a few times my bf and I were trying to get the dash cart to scan and weigh items correctly. It took a little bit of a time and was time consuming. If I go there again, I would probably not use the dash cart again lol Amazon grocery store itself was neat, clean, organized and had all the essentials one would need during a grocery run. They don't offer many vegan options though. The employees were friendly and happy to help. As for prices, some items are priced a little higher than your average grocery store but items that are on sale are worth buying if it's what you need. read more

I live nearby and shop here regularly. The store is clean, well organized and the people friendly. The prices are like any other store. Some lower, some higher. The BOGO sales are usually very good. It helps to have an Amazon account and the app to get the sales prices. The ladies staffing the Crispy Creme booth all have a friendly greeting as you enter the store and have earned props in my book. They should just TOSS food that's nearing the expiration date, INSTEAD of having customers buy their almost spoiled food! It's unethical to even put almost spoiled/expired food on sale. I bought a refrigerated item on sale, excited to get a deal and come to find out, it was spoiled. It even smelled bad.. I've bought almost expired fig bars---drier than sand. Didn't know the sale meant, "it's almost not safe for consumption...buyer beware". I've bought another refrigerated item and that too was OLD. I saw the REAL consistency when I bought a pack that was NOT on sale and I saw and tasted how fresh the item was. Does Amazon not make enough money from their website and Prime membership? The employees at Amazon Fresh were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The cashier carefully packaged my groceries, considering the weight of each bag, double plastic bagging the raw chicken and putting a rubber band on egg carton. The manager asked if I was able to find everything and went back and found more grapes for me. They nicely corrected a price discrepancy at the customer service desk. I went 2 the Amazon Fresh store @ 95th & Pulaski in Oak Lawn yesterday and it was ok. I love the decor, newness. Variety....hmmm not so much. Some items were reasonable, near the same price point or more than the other stores. The staff weren't too friendly. Too many of them were in my way rushing to fulfill customer's online orders. About 7 of them were speeding in front of me while I was in line. Also didn't like the 1 door entrance. There should be a separate exit entrance. I'm an Amazon Prime member and this has been a life saver since the the beginning of my pregnancy. I have used the service for grocery deliveries, online deliveries, and videos. I happened to have an opportunity to check out their brick-and-mortar "Amazon Fresh" in the Oak Lawn, the 3rd. location opened in Chicagoland area. I wanted to use the dash cart and the wait was very minimal. The workers there sanitized the equipment as part of COVID-19 protocols before handing one to me. There was also a person who explained how it worked. Basically you would open your Prime app., find the in-store QR code, and scan onto the cart reader. Many screens on the cart would pop up with all the explanations on how to shop and how to put an item in the bag. Each dash cart allows only two (2) medium-sized doubled paper bags of groceries. I understand many American households have multiple members to feed. If you are one of those large-haul grocery shoppers, I suggest using a traditional shopping cart and pay with a cashier. The dash cart will most likely not going to fulfill your needs. There was a minor glitch when scanning the organic boneless chicken thighs. I amended the situation by picking another package and that worked. In the midst of the brief struggle I had with the dash cart reader, the system thought I took out the strawberries, but I definitely didn't even touch the container whatsoever! Anyway, computers failed us sometimes, so we humans just coped with the inconvenience every once in awhile. In other words, it was not a big deal for me. Nevertheless, all other items were scanned smoothly and successfully. I was able to find miso in the international aisle. Well, I couldn't find tofu as one of the miso soup ingredients. That was alright. I knew Amazon Fresh did carry it yet it was often out of stock when I ordered it for deliveries. I didn't bother to ask Alexa for assistance, as some aisles were a bit narrow and it was a bit difficult to maneuver with the dash cart. Once I was done shopping, I was pretty much done! There was a designated lane for a virtual "checkout." Essentially, it was a confirmation on completing the trip and an receipt was e-mailed to the one I had on file with the Prime membership. I would say the dash cart, overall, was quite useful for budgeting. I could set my goal for a $40 grocery trip and not purchasing items I didnt urgently need. I heard some other customers mentioned on the dash cart scanning items on the shelf that they didn't physically place in the bag. I could see it happen because some of my items were scanned rather quickly seconds before I threw them in the bag. All brick-and-mortar Amazon Fresh stores are quite far from me. I would continue using their delivery services but will least likely pay a visit to any of them in the near future. I would still say the experience I had was fun and efficient enough for a grocery-shopping trip that I could be more in control. read more

I never shopped at Amazon but I did go in there for Krispy Kreme. Right when you walk in they have a station where two people were working the Krispy kreme's. They didn't have all I wanted but I was still able to get donuts I liked. The woman was kind of attentive and while helping me she kind of talked to her other employee and not to me. read more

Another Big FAIL for Bezos. Proves his ex Mackenzie Scott, was the brains behind Amazon. (She negotiated Amazon's very first Freight Contract.) The store is clearly geared to their runners, who hustle around the store with carts filling up to 6-8 orders at a time - all to be delivered free to Amazon Prime customers. This place is NOT for actual walk-in customers. More expensive than neighboring grocery stores - AND - they were completely out of many of their sale items. (Happy Belly Grape Juice, Fresh Brand Maple Breakfast Sausage, any flavored or sweetened Pure Leaf Iced Tea (one bottle of Unsweetened), etc. When I say completely out of, I mean it. Not only were there huge empty spaces on shelves, but when I asked a stocker whether there were any in the back, he called a manager who proceeded to inform me that they were, in fact, completely out of these many items. Now that Covid is on the decline, the fat, lazy couch potatoes who would use this service need to get back on their feet and actually get some fresh air. Obviously, this does not apply to the few disabled seniors that might benefit from this setup but most grocery stores in Chicago all adopted a "we'll bring it out to your parked car" policy during the pandemic. Terrible experience that I left $300 groceries at the check out because they could not give me a coupon because they said coupons only can be used online. This is my go-to store for groceries in the area. I love how convenient it's located, it's walking distance from my condo, and it has my essentials. I'm always in and out. The staff is also really nice, helpful and available as needed. I like that the products at Amazon Fresh are reasonably priced, they have a huge selection of anything you can imagine, and sometimes I'm able to find items in stock here but sold out at a Jewel or Target across the street. Amazon Fresh hasn't disappointed me so far, and I'd recommend going to this or any of their other locations. It's a fun experience. read more

Visited for the first time and what a cool grocery store, well its a regular grocer with cool carts. You scan your amazon code and off you go shopping. As you add groceries to your cart your total is updated. The store was pretty well stocked with comparable prices to other local stores. I will say this store is flooded with amazon workers filling other orders so aisles can get a bit tight. This store doesn't have the largest selection of products but I would shop using their smart cart for a small grocery haul, for a bigger haul i would head to my traditional stores. read more

It might take a few minutes to link up your cart to your account, but it's so much fun. All I can say is where is an Amazon Fresh in Hyde Park because I really liked this store. From the wide variety of deli meats and the truly nice employees. I know Amazon owns Whole Foods and I like them but Amazon Fresh has an edge on them. It is so funny well at least to me how I even visited the store. I was going to Longhorn Steak House but there was an hour wait to be seated. I had the bright idea to just rome the aisles and waste some time until we got the text that our table was ready. I was so impressed I bought a few things and the deli meats were so tasty and were great for a homemade sub. If they had one closer I would probably be there all the time. read more

I've been using the service since it came out. It has gone through so many changes. I remember when they used to overpack everything so you'd get like 100 bags and in the frozen food bags it would be six different dry ice packs each. There was sooooo much waste. Then, they introduce the bubble packs inside the bags with sensitive items. After awhile instead of dry ice packs they used frozen water bottles. Now I guess even that was too much because they stopped the water bottles & just decided to use paper insulation. Delivery is a hit most of the time, but you do occasionally have missing/broken items. Sometimes they just randomly cancel your entire order as well (it's happened 2 times to me.) I've had to go out to the driver's car once because they dropped off 2 bags for what was a $300 order with large items that should've been no less than 11 bags (I have the bag estimate down to a science at this point.) Looking at the driver's trunk I could clear see the other bags with my name on it & a few loosely strewn about items that were unmarked, but also part of my order. The driver claimed those items were for another customer (even though they literally had my name on the bags.) I took a picture, grabbed the bags, loose items, etc. & told the driver to call Amazon if they have an issue since it was my order. They initially tried to stop me, then had second thoughts about it before offering to help me carry the bags (I denied the request) before getting in their car & speeding off. I didn't hear anything from Amazon. Luckily out of the 60+ orders I've placed over the years, that was only one of them. Keep in mind that the prices for on the site for delivery are higher than standard in-store prices for a lot of items, but the convenience of them dropping it off at your desktop can't be beat! You also get free delivery for orders over $35. They always have deals & promos going on as well. I remember at one point you could get a family size box of Honey Nut Cheerios for like $0.25 with every order with a limit of 5. I ended up with 20 boxes of cheerios after a few orders. They also were giving out free AmazonFresh branded corkscrew bottle openers upon request with every order so I had a bunch of them that I gave away as gifts. read more

Jewel is cheap next to this. And the thing is, do I need so much staff, so much technology when there are good chains like Mariano's or Pete's, nearby, or even a place as cheap as Aldi. I really don't think so. Will I go back, yes. But what it will not be is the place where I will do groceries every week because I don't need all the things they are offering at a price that makes no sense. Shelves are consistently empty. They have a 7 foot tall top shelf which is idiotic, nobody can reach it. The store is full of at least 60 Amazon workers at any given time, and every single one of them will either flat out ignore you or hit you with their carts and give you attitude. Personally IF which I doubt they are gonna read this comment. They might wanna think about investing in raising the standard of living by donating organic fresh meats, fish, non dairy, and quality supplements. Not upitty breads and grains which are meant for cattle. As far as the products are concerned. Some are processed and some aren't. People have to be alert to the chemicals in frozen food.
