    Theatre three
    Trina K.

Nice theatre, but it is the smallest AMC I have ever seen. I believe there are only three movie rooms. Pros It has a full bar, traditional concession stand and freestyle Coca Cola machines. The reclining seats which are assigned are very comfortable. You can purchase tickets on Fandango. Upon arrival, there are both computer kiosks and representatives available for your convenience. Cons Finding the theatre is a bit of a hassle. There are no signs and it is not visible from the exterior perimeter of the shopping center. **It is located near the Orange Parking Garage.

We had such a great time at this location! I haven't been to an AMC in years and I'm happy to say that I was very pleased with this location. We went late and the concession stand was closing. The concession worker was awesome and asked me if I wanted a refill. I was very impressed by him and reaching out like that.

    Dont order the food!

Dont order the food! I thought when I ordered barbecue flatbread it meant barbecue sauce not barbecue burned. Guess I shouldve known it would be bad the attendant seems less than thrilled to take my order. The seats were comfy but the bathroom was disqusting. I suggest going up the street to AMC yorktown instead!

    Original time was 5pm

Tried to purchase tickets online for scream and kept being prompted to join membership and there was no way around that. So tried calling theater to confirm I could buy tickets there; called 6 times with no answer and also called the oakbrook 12 location no answer. Seen the movie time was 5pm when me and my guests got there the movie time had been pushed to a earlier time and was told all these things were happening because of the Batman ticket purchase release. So we missed 20 mins of the movie due to the fact they pushed the time ahead within less than 2 hours of a movie. This was super frustrating on my end because I made sure that I was there in time to view the movie at the beginning. I would like this to be made right because I was celebrating my birthday early with few of my family members and I was super disappointed in this whole experience and my seat was defective and would go up and down occasionally. As you can see in the photo movie start time was 5pm. Ticket shows 445pm.

The floor near the drink area was sticky and disgusting AND it wasn't busy.

We've been to this theater twice. Both times it's been dirty for the first show of the day. Popcorn and trash in the seats.

Great theatre, but they need to dial down the volume level. I enjoy the full sensory experience, but not to the level of pain.

This space had a sports bar feel, with 4-5 huge TVs playing sports- mostly women's soccer and the All-Star baseball game. Plus overhead music. So it's a bit loud, but to be expected. Outdoor seating is a nice option, although it was 90 degrees last night so I stayed inside. Service was exceptional, my favorite part of the night. I was seated immediately and folks came by with menu, utensils, water refills, condiments, and several people just checking to make sure I was having a good time and had everything I needed. Really liked the vibe. People were chatting, happy, all very light and welcoming. I travel a ton for work and this hotel restaurant stands out in terms of service, quality of food, and atmosphere. It's not like a place to go on a date, but for a hotel restaurant/lounge this one scores.

Shopping mall chic?…read more If you've spent any time near a mall in the suburbs, there are a few staples you'll inevitably come across, one of them being Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse at 2105 S. Spring Rd. Gibsons has long been known as a go-to for a slightly upscale steakhouse experience in the suburbs. I hadn't been in years, but we were in the area and decided to go somewhere a bit nicer for dinner to celebrate my birthday, so we gave Gibsons another try. One highlight was the complimentary valet service, it was quick, easy, and very efficient. The restaurant was busy with lots of families and celebrations. The interior has a classic, almost mob-era steakhouse vibe, reminiscent of old-school 1930s-40s Italian-American dining rooms. Service was friendly and accommodating throughout the night. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and for my entrée I had a ribeye with a side of potatoes and broccoli. My friend ordered a filet mignon salad. We also shared a side salad. The food was solid overall, but the salads were a bit watery, and the ranch dressing was just okay. The steak was good, but not quite the standout I expected given the price point, ribs are close to $70, so expectations are understandably high. Everything felt consistent, but not particularly memorable. That said, Gibsons does feel very steady and familiar, which may be part of its appeal. It's the kind of place people return to because they know exactly what they're going to get. Even the bread was fine, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. One of the more memorable (and amusing) parts of the experience was the birthday tradition. I still can't fully make out what they're saying during the birthday song, it's loud, a bit barked, and honestly both funny and slightly intimidating. I can't decide if I love it or would be terrified by it as a kid. There was also an interesting moment with dessert, my ice cream was placed in a plastic bag inside a box of ice. Creative, but not exactly elegant. I definitely didn't eat it, but it was memorable in its own way. Overall, if you're looking for a consistent, classic steakhouse experience that leans more familiar than elevated, Gibsons fits that role. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

The prices have been increasing like the meter on a cab - remember cab meters? Really Gibby's you need the extra buck and a quarter on the pork chop from last Thursday? Located in what used to be Anthony's, the Italian steakhouse, the ambiance is actually quite nice- but it's the service that needs some work. We stopped in after a meeting in the hotel for a drink with a small group. The space is nice- leather chairs clustered around tables in front of a fake fireplace. Murals on the walls, and a bar that stretches across the one wall. Even though there wasn't a big crowd on the night we were there- service was slow. We finally walked up to the bar to get our drinks. We ordered a snack of some chips and guac but it was disappointing as there wasn't enough guac to go with the quantity of chips provided. If you like a good martini- they've got them here- but no blue cheese olives which is a must in my book! It's a bar in a suburban hotel. I didn't expect much and that's what I got.

I had some online gift…read morecertificates to use after Christmas and a quick search of that website lead me to The Den. It looked harmless and we were mainly going for wine and to catch up with each other so I bought the certificate and off we went. The Den is located inside the Oak Brook Doubletree hotel and there is no indication from outside the hotel where the restaurant is so I punted as far as parking was concerned. Luckily, I picked the correct side of the hotel. At first glance, the inside of the restaurant is a little dated, but it was clean, cozy, and quiet. I was directed to pick any seat I wanted. Looking over the menu there were some affordable starters/small plates, and a decent selection of entrees (@ 5 non beef and 5 beef). The wine list was nothing special either in information or choice. I was going to start with a Pinot Noir, and asked about a particular Wine maker as nothing else was listed on the sheet besides the wine maker, appellation, variety and vintage. I knew that wine maker had several labels of Pinot Noir so I asked the server which they were pouring. He came back and said it wasn't listed on the bottle. I guess I could have asked to see the bottle, but it just seemed like too much work for me too. I went with it and it was fine. Started with a Caesar salad with no croutons. Not only were there no croutons, but the listed "crispy prosciutto" and cheese was missing. Whatever. I was STARVING and ate it without complaint. Next on the list was a cheese plate. The cheese plate was listed as having brie, blue and aged white cheddar, along with grapes, crackers and walnuts. What we got was a young yellow cheddar, some smoked gouda, and boursin cheese spread with crackers and dried cranberries. Again, i was using a gift certificate so I didn't want to make a fuss, but my sister and I brought it up to the server that basically nothing that was described on the plate was actually on the plate. Also mentioned the salad mistake too (might as well go for broke). He apologize and went back to the kitchen and see what was up. When he came back he apologize as he noticed the salad was incorrect but didn't do anything about it, and he also said that there were two different menus going on and the chef was working off a different menu. He then brought out a much bigger plate with a little brie, some blue cheese, what I think was a mild mexican cheese, and something that tasted like minibabybel. Still no cheddar. We ordered more wine, and got some olives and I ordered a rib-eye. The server suggested I get the all-you-can-eat NY strip, (thanks for bringing that up) but I still went with the rib-eye. While only 14 oz, it was decent and bone-in (which was a nice surprise) and I would think I great selling feature. For our third round of drinks, the server suggested a meritage they had. My sister stayed with the cab, but I tried it. It wasn't bad, but it was very warm. When we asked for the check, he brought it out and I noticed it was just under $100. I waited for him to come back and explained I had one of those $50 off it you spend $100 certificates and we would probably need to split another glass of wine. He explained that it would be no problem to just use the certificate now as he had not charged for the last round of drinks as a thank-you. That was really nice of him, but it was really something he should have addressed when he first dropped off the check..." hey folks, sorry for the inconveniences you've experienced. I got you a round of drinks. I hope you'll try us again." Overall, our server was nice, but he lacked presence on the floor. And there were only 5 tables at the most going on. Now I get that this is a hotel venue, so perhaps repeat business isn't a priority, but with better service and some quality control, I could see this place really taking off as an after-work location. As it is now, I would go back if someone else wanted to go, or if I had another gift certificate, but it definitely isn't on my list of "must go back" spots.
