Starting with the positive, two employees gave me excellent customer service with a problem I had with the kiosk. The theater temperature was almost comfortable compared to the Surprise AMC that turns off the A/C one hour into a movie (this happened 3 times in the last 2 months). On the downside the AMC WESTGATE 20 doesn't have a set time that they open. They open 30 minutes before the start of the first movie, so figure it out for yourself. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This theater is disgusting. Our seats had nacho cheese dripping all over them. There was garbage all over the floor and seats. They obviously didn't clean after the last movie. Also, the theater ran out of ice so our drinks were hot and very watered down. There was literally garbage all over the floors.. EVERYWHERE. Went to see a movie yesterday and, after it hadn't started for 25 minutes, a patron had to go out to ask what was happening. Finally, after 35 minutes someone finally came in to tell us the movie would not be shown and we could get refunds. To add instill to injury, we had to wait in line for 20 minutes. The system would not recognize the credit card I had used and the worker created a gift card instead. When I tried to use it, the card number was not recognized. Sorry, but I will never go to this theater again. read more

To be fair, I'd give this a star and a half because they're open. The staff was low (understandable due to the pandemic,) but because of that, the place was dirty and lines very long due to 6-7 employees behind the counter, but only 2 at the registers. (Not sure why they didn't move some of them to more registers, but this is why I'm rating them so low.) Also, the "large" popcorn (they couldn't make fast enough, two lines were forming for it) is now the size of a medium and I was forced to go to FOUR soda machines. The first three were out of many sodas and when I could find a selection, the pour sprayed syrup all over my hands and everywhere else. Not to mention, the first fill-up was 100% flat/no soda taste. I had to exit the theatre to find another machine that, once again, sprayed everywhere covering my hands and arms. And finally, zero condiments, including my beloved salt for the popcorn. The napkins they had were thinner than cheap toilet paper. Add all this to the ancient and barely comfortable seats, it's a wonder how they will get us all back in the theatre. That all said...I'm glad I went for this specific movie, A Quiet Place Part II. For at least half the movie, it was pitch quiet, and unbelievably, the people in the audience, which included several children, were very respectful and as still as the movie. Bravo humans. Went to this theater for a 930a showing of Jurassic World Dominion. When arrived at 850a, the doors were locked and a sign saying they didn't open until 930a. Finally a worker unlocked the door at 9a which also was supposed to be one checking tickets. Thankfully another worker came over and was checking the line of people's tickets as the one that unlocked the door then went to operate the concessions. As a stubs premier member you are supposed to get a free upgrade to large popcorn/drink(s) from the regular size. When ordered large popcorn and 3 drinks for my party they only had the regular sized cups and blamed it on a late rush last night. Mind you this is opening weekend of Jurassic World Dominion and we were the first ones in concession line. Once we had our drink cups/popcorn we went to the soda machines of which weren't working and 2 of the 3 working ones only had half the options. As we went to put butter on the popcorn the 2 butter pourers by the working soda machines had no butter. The other 2 on the other side of the concession area you could tell were running low. As we walked in the theater auditorium itself there was literally no light to see the row letters or seat numbers, not even the screen was lit. The ac also was not yet turned on. At about 920a the screen was finally turned on with green dots that was hard on the eyes and kept flipping through that. Then they finally turned on lights for people to see a few minutes later. When 930a hit, it came and went without even the previews being started. It was 948a before the previews even started. I get staffing is low due to reduced tickets being sold/high employee costs, but when its an opening weekend for a big blockbuster like a Jurassic Park or even Top Gun movie, you should be prepared. I'm just glad when I went to see Top Gun Maverick twice last week, that these problems did not exist. When you pay to be a stubs premier member, you shouldn't be told that the perks aren't available without some kind of discount. read more

The bar tender was getting in arguments spouting false laws to customers. The movie theater is absolutely dirty and disgusting. Don't bother getting popcorn or a soda cause that's 45 minutes and the staff there is extremely rude just like the bar tender. Watched a movie here last week and the seats were soooo dirty, I love going to the movie theatres and I was so disappointed and uncomfortable. The room was upstairs, theatre 18. It was a much smaller theatre so I'm not sure if they don't prioritize the cleanliness of it because of that but the seats definitely need to be washed!!!! read more

Well this was bullshit. I purchased these tickets a while ago.. Got to the theater with my crew. Printed our tickets at the kiosk at the theater. Got checked in and was told what room the showing was going to be in. Stood in line to purchase popcorn snacks etc. Got seated just to sit for about 10 mins. While sitting I checked my email and was then made aware: "that due to corrupt content we will be unable to show the 7:00pm showing of Happening Right Here for today, 11/3/22." So we went to customer service and was told that it was a bootleg copy and the theater was unable to get the film to work. Was unable to get a refund since I bought these online (duh) so I got movie passes to a theatre I have never been to and a refund for the popcorn and snack which was nice. But my question is what is/was the real reason this film wasn't shown? I am very disappointed with the miscommunication. I am pleased that the customer service worker refunded the food that was purchased and I know it isn't her fault. But come on. This film needs to be show. So WTF is going on? My wife and I went to the movies last night first time we've ever been to the theater and it was probably the worst experience we have ever had. The staff was not friendly and seemed like they didn't even want to be there. One popcorn drink two things of candy $32 my tickets were not even that much. The seats had springs coming up out of them holes in the seats and was advertise reclining seats and they did not recline. Went in on Wednesday June 1 at 3:30 to see Top Gun. Doors walking in were filthy , fingerprints and grime everywhere. Very understaffed. 3 people in line for popcorn and waited 10 min and walked away because movie was starting. Theatre seats were comfortable however theatre was dirty . Floor sticky and the wooden rails in front of my seat were dirty from spilled drinks. It was hard not to pay attention to the dirty mess . This theater has really gone to the dump. You pay $16 for yesterdays popcorn and almost every flavor of drink is not available. They don't even have ice in the machines took me 4 different machines to even get Ice while they have signs saying low ice. They haven't had any food selections in months and it's almost dead during the day why is the place so dirty with piles of popcorn all over the floor trash everywhere and it's dead the least you can do is at least have the place clean if you have nothing else. read more

I have been an AMC member for a couple years, and have enjoyed movies across the country. Unfortunately my visit to the Westgate location has to be the worst experience ever. We were here for Jurassic World, and it is painfully obvious that they did not prepare for a busy weekend. First, they did not let us into the specified theatre until the credits started for some reason. The floors are a complete mess with trash and popcorn all over, including the lobby. They are out of nearly every candy available. And the refreshments line for non-members was over 150 people long, and for members over 30 people long. I'm currently writing this while standing in line and missing the movie itself. Unfortunately this is not indicative of the AMC theatres I have visited in the past, and someone should either train or replace the manager as they are making this experience for many undesirable. read more

If I could give a 1/2 star I would The theater was beyond nasty. My family went to go see Despicable Me 4 last night. I should've followed my first mind & went to a different theater on a different day. My first disappointment was the soda machine. You had to push on it several times to get a few pieces of ice then the machine was out of Sprite. okay that happens I thought no mind. Although I walk into theater 13 it needs a deep deep cleaning/disinfect. When you first walk into the theater your nostrils are instantly violated with a rank odor. The carpet is dirty with stains and popcorn. Then you get to your seat the floors are so sticky. I'm surprised I didn't see a roach. I went to the bathroom expectations were already low but not to my surprise it was filthy as well. There was toilet paper all over the floor and to my not surprise again the mirrors were dirty and had to go to several sinks to wash my hands as the faucet didn't work (I don't know if that was because of me or not working) I was so ready to be done with the movie. I go back to get my family I was hit with the smell (apparently I forgot about it or got use to it) immediately turned around to wait in the hall. Missed the last 15/20 min of the movie read more

We went to the movies last night 11 May 19. The concession area was littered with popcorn and trash. We waited over 10 minutes or two hot dogs. It wasn't like we were waiting as others received their food, nothing was coming out! The condiment area was filthy. The catsup dispenser was empty and the lid was off. Trash and spilled condiments all over. I went to the restroom before the movie started and it was filthy. Stall had out of order sign, trash on the floor in the stalls, below sinks and overflowing trash cans. When the movie ended I returned and it was worse. It smelled and obviously still hadn't been clean sir I got the 3 hours I was in the Avengers movie. I walked to the opposite side and that restroom was just as bad. Sever out of order stalls, sever out of order water faucets. There was one automatic faucet just running full force. The automatic paper towel dispensers (3) were empty. I went to customer service to complain and heard someone else complaining. It's unacceptable to have those areas that filthy. I have been to other theaters where you see them constantly cleaning up and it's still a mess. This was worse since no one was even trying to keep up. I won't return. read more

Sadly if a 0 star was an option I'd push that. Went Sunday June 12th for the 5:15 Top Gun. Let me start with Disgusting. This is the dirtiest theatre I've ever seen, the floor, the countertops, literally everywhere was mess. Spilled dried sticky soda covering the floor in front of the soda fountain, the popcorn spilled left and piled on all food counters was terrible. The food line was about 50 people long and one of the popcorn machines was not working, the other was empty so 6 employees stood in front of it waiting for popcorn. We went into the AMC member rewards line and it was a 30 minute wait there. There wasn't 1 employee that seemed to care, be concerned, trying, working fast, cleaning-NOTHING. It was quite sad. This is a newer theatre, I hope someone reads this and looks into this issue because its not a good way to start. We walked out and didn't get to see the movie. This is the only AMC I've ever been to, and probably the only one I'll ever go to. My husband and I did the Premier membership, definitely worth the money if it's convenient for you. You rack up points to get free stuff, and you can see up to three movies a week on it. It's great for us because we live so close and are able to walk over and see a movie anytime we'd like. My only complaint would be the staff - or lack of. They always seem to be short staffed, even when it's not busy. It shouldn't take so long to order some popcorn and a soda. We had to leave Avengers: Endgame (Apr 28 2019, 7:15pm showing) halfway through the movie because my daughter was feeling very nauseous and sick. I went to customer service to ask for a bag or popcorn box (just in case) for the ride home... told the manager my daughter wasn't feeling well and that we had to leave the movie halfway through. She acted like it was a huge burden to get a popcorn box, showed no sympathy towards my daughter being sick or that we had to leave the movie halfway through. She was not busy, so that cannot be used as an excuse. She simply did not care about us as customers. Less than a month ago we had an experience at AMC Arrowhead where the manager gave a whole theater free passes because of a minor technical glitch. I learned my lesson and will never again go to the AMC Westgate location. read more

The place was disgusting, popcorn and trash all over the floor. The machines are out of ice and no supervision at all. The bathrooms were disgusting. The trash in the bins is over flowing. The seats were uncomfortable. We only received half of the food, we ordered online. On the receipt it said refunded for the food not received. We never got a refund. When I tried calling this morning no one answers. This was my first time at an AMC theater. Also beware there is a $20 parking fee in the lot behind the theatre. I will not be back. We had a much better experience at Fat Cats in Surprise. read more

I find it absolutely ridiculous that I waited at the bar for over 20 minutes along with several other guests, because the bartender had disappeared. Several of the guests, including myself, had asked other employees working at the theater where the bartender was and when we could get our drinks. Not only was that frustrating, but my fiance and I had purchased tickets on the wrong day and went to request a refund 4 days before the movie. This was on 7/4 and it is now 7/19. We have not received our refund and the theaters don't seem to be answering calls. They direct you to twitter to submit a request, which is just unbelievable. Since my husband was sad that we didn't buy tickets for the new Star Wars movie opening weekend we were scrambling to find tickets. I really wanted somewhere with assigned seating because I am so over the whole get there early and stand in line for hours to get a good seat thing. I was surprised that the IMAX theater now has assigned seats and there were a bunch of open seats for the 7:45 show. We went ahead and bought the tickets hoping for the best. The positive: Location. There was a lot going on for Christmas- a lot of which was free. Music, carriage rides and snow! There is also ice skating, lots of lights and several restaurants. The IMAX screen-the quality of the show is still there although the Cine Capri at Harkins May be a little better. The negatives: The theater is just not clean. Popcorn all over the floor the trash cans were overflowing. The drink machines were either out of ice or not working so there were long lines. The "assigned" seats were the same old crappy seats with numbers on them. Bottom line it works in a pinch but next time I will make sure to buy tickets in advance so I can go to a more comfortable clean theater to enjoy my movie. read more

This is seriously the grossest theatre I have ever been in. There is literally chocolate all over the seat next to me... cheese or ice cream or some shit spread all over the floor next to me I had to sweep popcorn off both our own seats before we sat down. The floor is covered in crap and this is AFTER we waited ten minutes for two people to clean the theatre. I know that a lot of things come up and some cleaning can fall thru the cracks but this is nuts. Also my seat will not recline. Only the leg portion works.
