Chicken Marsala with penne and sauce as the side

As of Day 36 of being open, they're doing a good job! Very authentic, family run business. The wife had to check with her husband, the chef, when we came in at 7:15 to make sure we could be seated. We were. Our server, a tall, younger guy from Big Timber, was appropriately attentive and very sweet. The food came out quickly and was large portions. The chicken Marsala was good, very garlicky but the chef came out later to introduce himself and said they could have made it without garlic (my stomach is quite intolerant), so that's great to know for next visit. The bread was basic, store bought, nothing to brag about. But it did come with dipping oil and butter. The calamari was very flavorful, filled with sauce and peppers. Much different from other calamari I've had. Perfect portion for two. The salad was also basic, iceberg with a couple of tomatoes and sliced red onion. Balsamic or Italian dressing are the options and salad is included with all entrees. My husband's spaghetti and meatballs entree was a large portion but he said the spaghetti lacked flavor. The meatballs were fine but he wasn't raving. The Italian music had me humming along even when I didn't realize it. There are white columns throughout the interior, large paintings of Italian scenes, and tight table spaces. At 7:30 on a Friday, it was still half full, they close by 8. The best part of the experience was the great service. We'll go back and try a few other things.

Fantastic place, great vibes and awesome service. Very welcoming and wholesome establishment with great food made from scratch! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a date spot, anniversary or just looking for the occasional homemade pasta with some great wine selections

Pasta was overcooked. The volka sauce was runny and was loaded with cream, it was light pink color. No warm bread. Totally disappointed.

Ask the Community - Amelia's Authentic Italian Eatery

How is their menu Italian? All of the dishes are a very Americanized fare. Olive Garden-esque.

I don’t know how these meals can be Americanized? All the recipes are from Randy’s Italian family and he is very Italian himself, all the recipes are authentic.

Enjoyed my filet with potatoes & carrots. Potatoes au gratin could have had a bit more salt. All in all, fabulous dish. Ordered Love Letters from London and this may just be my all time favorite cocktail ever had. The earl grey infused gin + heavy cream was blended so nicely. I had to get 2! Honorable mention for the Here Kitty Kitty tequila drink & Prairie Pot-Pie which just melted with each bite. I can't say enough good things about 1864. Additionally, our server Torren was wonderful. He paced us so well and we never felt rushed to order.

They did not reserve a booth and did nothing to recognize the occasion. We then had to wait over an hour for food. The appetizers were good - tartare and yellowtail - but the entrees were absolutely dreadful. (How do you screw up a hamburger?) We gave them another shot last night and waited 15 minutes to even get approached for a drink, and no one came over. So we left and went to Stockman's (excellent!) 1864 is great venue that is entirely wasted.

There's plenty of seating for 2-4 people and some for larger groups as well. Also there are seats at the multiple bars. Jam!'s service staff was attentive and accurate from the hostess's greeting to farewells upon our exit. Our waitress offered recommendations and explained the menu well. The experience felt warm and accommodating. The star of the show at Jam! is of course the food and drink. Lots of selections for the coffee bar or morning alcoholic beverages. I was there for the caffeine. The Dirty Chai was well seasoned and earthy with the right amount of sweetness to balance. It was served at a perfect temperature and had a cute design etched into the frothy foam on top. The freshly made cinnamon buns were flaky, sweet, and satisfying. I'm a nut for pecans and the garnish was plentiful and complimentary of the bun without taking away or lacking. The Breakfast Burrito was a boulder of a proportion. Succulent smoke pork shoulder and fluffy eggs were paired well with spices, the refried black beans, and cheese offering a smoky blend of flavors and textures which felt wholesome and complete. I'm a fanatic for spice but this was the right amount, though I did add some hot sauce to hit my ideal scoville range. But flavor wise the burrito was on point. This is one of those places I leave with a little heartbreak I didn't get to try at least half the menu. I may not be back to Bozeman for some time but Jam! will definitely be at the top of my list for a return visit.

Special occasions, family dinners, and lunches. We came in on Tuesday and it was one of the worst and weirdest dining experiences we've ever had in Bozeman. We got there around 1:00, were seated immediately and waited 15 minutes for a server to welcome us in with water. We've worked as servers and it would have been fine but there were only two other tables besides ours. Our server was pushy and she was instantly irritated with us for some reason. We ordered calamari to start and three pizzas with some substitutions (after asking if they could do substitutions) that we were happy to pay extra for. We got the calamari after about a half hour, at about 1:45, and it was really tough. It had definitely been frozen, but was poorer quality than what we've had in the past. The usual lemon remoulade/aioli was also a let down from what they have served in the past. A little after 2:00, we asked about the status of our pizzas. The woman helping us snapped at my mom, "Go ask the chefs in the back! You can ask them how much longer it's gonna take!" I have worked in the service industry and my sister is a full-time industry worker in town. She seemed irritated at the cooks, and was being a bit sarcastic, still, we were shocked. We finally got our pizzas at 2:30, an hour and a half after we arrived. It seemed like the dough had changed and the pizza was definitely oilier than it had been before. The fennel sausage and prosciutto were lower quality than they've served in the past: greasy, saltier and less flavorful. Our server was, at best, odd and at worst snappy and rude. She didn't bring us enough napkins or plates or ever ask about refills. It was a very uncomfortable and disappointing dining experience. We're bummed about our spot!

When we came in at around 4pm, there seemed to be plenty of tables available but after an hour, the place quickly filled up. Vibes/Service: Parking lot in the back and it seemed there was some street parking available as well. Many, many tables available with bar seating as well. It can certainly fit a larger group. Great service from our server. Checked on us often and filled up our waters. Food: Because it was our first meal here, we wanted to try out their staple dishes. -Bison Potstickers ($16): 5 pieces topped with mango and garlic chili sauce and served with some coleslaw. Rich and filling, paired well with the sauce. Would order this again! -Bison Patty Melt ($22): it was my first time eating Bison, the waiter suggested medium rare. My server knew the special menu, regular menu and drinks very well. I ordered the bison patty melt and tots for the meal and the Bridger Hazy IPA for the drink. The bartender recommended the IPA and it was excellent. The homemade tots were great. A shredded potato in the middle, nice and creamy and crunchy exterior. Feedback was there were only 5 on the plate. Definitely could use more. The bison patty met was perfectly cooked. A lot of folks overcook and dry out the bison. It was perfectly medium and juicy. Feedback would be a little char on the patty would be great. The service really tailed off in the end, it was not super busy and they had about 5 servers behind the bar. I sat there for at least 15 min until another bar tender asked if I wanted another brew and my server came about 5 to 10 later to attend to things.
