America in NYNY has always been a favorite of mine while in Vegas. A great breakfast and good portions at a fair price. On this visit, the place is being remodeled, so a curtain and plastic black maze to get to the remodeled dining area. Bar is being completely rebuilt. And they painted the giant United States model white and are going to be using a video projector on it (which is an awesome idea!) I usually get their country friend steak a few times, but this time the meat was very tough and hard to cut thru, and didn't even taste great... plus the potatoes weren't hot. So in 5 days, I only got it once. I got the eggs Benedict another time, and the avocado bacon cheese omelette twice. So.. I've given this restaurant 5 star reviews more than once, but this time it's dropped. I'm REALLY hoping they just aren't in their A-game because it's very distracting with saws, hammering, and all the noise, plus dusty and not what you really want. I'm told they plan to be completely done with the remodel on July 4th, 2026, so in all honesty, would probably avoid it until after they open fully. Other things noted (besides the poor quality country fried steak and cold potatoes) was that on one day, a part of the avocado on the eggs looked bad as it was "brown & mushy". Had I been the cook, I would NOT have presented that on a plate! On more than one occasion, the potatoes weren't hot, so very likely they are cooking them in advance or plating them too soon. It also seemed the portions have shrunk. That might be a sign of the times and the economy. Who knows? But I actually wondered if the place might be under different ownership, which would explain the quality and portion issues. All in all, America has always been my favorite breakfast place (followed by Hash House a Go Go), but I'd avoid it until they are done with their remodel (after July 4, 2026). I'll go back there and give it another shot on my next visit in August. If it's not back to what it was, I'll drop my rating to a 3 star.. but I truly expect them to be back to a 5 star. Was looking for a nearby breakfast option. This one is open 24 hours! Came in around 10am ish and there were a number of groups already dining in, but still plenty of tables open. They seated us right away. We got black coffee to start and then for entrees I got the corned beef hash. The meat was very tender and well seasoned. Not tough or hard! My sister got the eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon. Solid option as well! I was really impressed with the amount of food for the price. Sizeable menu too. We also got green smoothies to go. Kinda hard to find smoothies at just any type of restaurant. Delicious and refreshing! The staff was really nice from the two women at the hostess stand to our server. I've alway like this place but lately the place seems to be going downhill. Don't get me wrong, it's going to do well regardless as it's part of the New York New York hotel. This visit, we didn't know what we wanted for a late night meal which I remember they're open 24 hours. Right when we got to the front the first thing we said to each other was is it still open. Entrance was blocked off with black tarp so it gives off closed vibe. There was lady standing at the front behind a counter which we asked if they were still open. It's going through renovation which I'm not sure for how long. The donut shop that was in the front is gone as well as the main dining area and bar. You walk through a walkway which is all covered. Though it was covered, it seemed like it was going to be empty. Only the back part of the restaurant was still open. They did have people there but first impressions was it was closed. Service was ok, our waiter was sweet. Very chatty which was helpful with the menu. But they did seem to run out of a lot of things. Last time I've had their chicken fried steak breakfast meal which was great. This time it was just whatever. Nothing major to rave about. That came with a side of either hash brown or potatoes and eggs and toast. Honestly it was just whatever. We had an order of their pizza which was another whatever. Nothing major to rave about. They were out of onion rings so that was a bummer. Ranch was an additional fee. Our waiter was sweet. Seemed like he was the only one working as it was a little bit of a hassle to get his attention. With the construction, the place feels really awkward. Food's not the same as it used to be. It was a little underwhelming but hopefully it gets back to how it used to be. Visited America twice during our stay at New York New York. First visit was dine-in and second visit I did take out. I would rate this higher than 3 stars but lower than 4 stars. Starting with the cons: During dine-in, I ordered the Veggie Burrito. After about 10 minutes, the waiter came back to let me know that the kitchen didn't have ingredients to make it. Small inconvenience, but the bigger annoyance was when I asked what else is vegan on the menu, the waiter said "salad" which if I was previously ordering and craving a burrito, a salad is not going to be satisfying. I couldn't tell from his tone if he was being sarcastic or genuinely helpful, but there was at least an Impossible Burger, Avocado Toast, or even a pasta dish option before suggesting a salad. The other cons are that dine-in service was extremely slow, and the restaurant is going through a remodel so the entrance is easy to miss. Now onto the pro: The fact that this 24-hour restaurant has vegan options at all is super convenient! Is it the best vegan food? No, but it passes. Another pro: Take out experience was much faster than our dine-in service. Onto the food... The Impossible Burger could have used more effort. I would have appreciated a vegan mayo or a vegan cheese. If I thought about it at the time, I probably could have asked them to add avocado to make it more interesting. The Veggie Burrito was pretty huge! Grateful that they have JustEgg, tofu, vegan cheddar, and plant-based sausage though I would have like to see more vegan sausage for the price. Maybe a chipotle sauce to give it some zing. The Green Goddess Smoothie doesn't look appetizing but it was alright. It has kale, spinach, avocado, and cashew milk. Would I eat here again? Probably out of convenience. But I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

We took the short walk over from the MGM Grand to have breakfast here. We had a short wait before we were seated (Sunday morning). There is construction going on so a bit of a maze to get into the dining area but was fine once seated. Our waitress took our drink and food order promptly. Our food came out quickly and was surprised by the huge portions! My husband and I could have split plates. We both ordered the New York State of Mind and split the 4 stack of Chocolate Chip pancakes. I only ate half my breakfast and one pancake. The pancakes are FULL of chocolate chips, so good!! Stopped in for a bite before the NiN concert in March and it was surprisingly good! David the server was quick to attend to our needs and never kept us waiting longer thelan we needed. That was an absolute plus since we had a show to get to. The food was better than an average diner. There was a time when dinners, lunches, and breakfast in Las Vegas was an inexpensive experience. They care more about you gambling and spending on entertainment than charging high food prices. Well here at New York, New York, and perhaps other places, they want to hit you up no matter what you're doing. Got a $11 "house salad" to go from here. It's your standard, hate to say it, "garden variety" salad with greens, a couple of cucumbers slices, 2 quarter slices of tomato with their house balsamic vinaigrette. Overall, the salad is fine, but the disappointing part is how little you get for your dollar. Good job on the balsamic vinegar et as well. read more

After visiting the Bellagio Conservatory with my mom on a Saturday morning, we decided to take a journey to New York New York Hotel and Casino to eat at the restaurant, America. Looking up local Las Vegas restaurants on the strip that offered discounts for locals, America was one of the restaurants that popped up on the search! When we had entered New York New York from the Hershey's store, we didn't know where it was located. We ended up exploring the entire casino floor, and found it towards the back of the hotel, somewhat near the escalators to the second level to where the arcade is. The restaurant did have a line. Asking the team member for a table of two, we were informed it would be about a 15 minute wait. The line did go relatively quickly though. Once inside the restaurant, we got to explore the layout. The center of the restaurant has a stunning 90 x 20 topographical map of the United States. It hangs above the restaurant and is considered one of the largest in the country with specific icons like Mount Rushmore! The restaurant is open 24/7 and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner services. The menu typically ranges from $10.00 - $30.00 for pricing. Locals get a 10% discount, excluding holidays. The restaurant's menu has a wide range of options from bagels, sandwiches, subs, burgers, patty melts, breakfast items (pancakes, eggs, bacon etc..), pasta, and so much more! My mom ended up getting the grilled cheese with French Fries and a side of Onion Rings. I ended up getting the Fried Steak with gravy, French Fries, and scrambled eggs with sourdough toast. The service was great at America. The team member assisting our table came several times to refill our drinks. We also didn't wait long on our order, less than 25 minutes! I enjoyed the fried steak and eggs. I ended up saving the French Fries and the Sourdough toast for another meal though! It was so much food! The Fried steak was huge and had plenty of gravy on it! My mom enjoyed the grilled cheese. The onion rings were my favorite though! They were perfectly fried, and with each bite, the entire onion did not come out, which was awesome! I stopped into America Restaurant at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino and had such a great experience that I needed to leave a review. Our bartender, Tha, delivered some of the best customer service I've had in Vegas. From the moment we sat down, Tha was warm, personable, and genuinely made us feel welcome--not rushed, not pushy, just real hospitality. I ordered the Fruity Booty (Appleton Rum, Peach Schnapps, Grand Marnier, Amaretto, and Pineapple Juice), and it was fantastic. Perfect balance, smooth but flavorful, and honestly one of the best cocktails I've had on the Strip. My sister got a piña colada, and she loved it--creamy, refreshing, and clearly made with care. What really stood out was Tha's presence. They were easy to talk to, made great drink suggestions, checked in without hovering, and actually seemed to enjoy connecting with guests. It made our stop feel like an experience, not just a quick drink. If you're in Vegas and want great cocktails with even better service, go see Tha at America Restaurant. Our family of 4 (9 and 10 year olds) were looking for a simple breakfast spot and America Restaurant made sense based on location alone. We were staying at MGM Grand and the short walk over to New York New York was quick and easy which made this a very convenient Strip option. We did not need a reservation and were seated without much of a wait. First impressions were positive. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive especially with our kids which always sets a nice tone for a family meal. The classic American diner décor with nods to different states gave the restaurant a casual and interesting vibe that our kids enjoyed right away. Service continued to be the highlight throughout the meal. Everyone was kind and efficient and when we asked for things like extra butter it arrived quickly. From a convenience standpoint this place checks a lot of boxes especially if you are tired and hungover, or just want a basic breakfast without much effort. The food itself was underwhelming. I ordered a two egg breakfast with breakfast potatoes, sausage and sourdough toast. The eggs were bland the potatoes were very dry and overcooked and had heavy seasoning and the sourdough toast was barely toasted. Extra butter helped but did not fully fix it. My wife ordered a similar breakfast and felt her potatoes were over peppered and just as dry though she said the meal did the job which feels like a fair summary overall. Our nine year old son ordered pancakes which were filling but slightly undercooked in the middle. Our ten year old daughter had French toast that she described as squishy and underdone. Across the board the food felt more pre cooked than freshly made which was disappointing. From a kid friendly standpoint America Restaurant does well. The menu is familiar and approachable the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff were great with our children. It felt safe casual and easy which matters when traveling with kids. Overall America Restaurant at New York New York Hotel and Casino works as a convenient family friendly breakfast spot with good service and an easygoing diner feel. The value is really in the location and friendliness rather than the food and while it gets the job done it is not a memorable Las Vegas breakfast. Having been to Las Vegas 37 times, I have seen a decline in customer service in this city i love. I am a bartender in Vancouver of 30 years and take pride in providing exceptional 5-star service to all my patrons. The level of customer service is so lacking with today's generation that it appalls me. I come to Vegas to be treated and taken care of as it is the city of entertainment. As an MGM gold member, who cycles through $100,000 a year in slots, spends tens of thousands a year in the city I love, it hurts to be unrecognized and an inconvenience for this young generation of kids who just don't care. So I come in to America restaurant at NYNY on Monday night and order some late night snacks and water. Well I'm introduced professionally by my server, Jody. She takes my order, we have a little chit chat, I come back after a little gamble to pick up my food. We share stories, and off I go. The next night I come back in...Jody remembers my name, certain details which blew me away, and we have another pleasant conversation. Day 3 of late night dining, and there Jody is again, wonderful as always, remembering me, and taking the utmost care of me. Jody is customer service, she is attentative, she is thoughtful, she is exactly what Las Vegas is lacking. Vegas needs more people like Jody! !!!Wow Their $23 ribeye is amazing!! 5pm-5am deal. It's grilled so well for a medium rare. Way better than our $100-$200+ per steak order form Maestros in LA last month!!! Shocking. $23.95 Ribeye dinner 5pm-5am daily, comes with veggies and fries. Add $1 for a sugary alcoholic shot. We only visited for a quick large snack. The 5 star is for the shockingly well grilled medium rare ribeye. The staff is super nice and attentive for a Friday night around 930pmish. The shot is typical hangover super sweet alcoholic shot. I don't know how their other items are, or of this ribeye steak was a one time well cooked event. We probably can make it back to test it's consistency. read more
