If you're going to be that visible and hands-on with your staff, I think it's even more important to model the same customer service you expect from them. Thankfully, Colton did exactly that. Supposedly I wasn't specific enough, about how terrible this establishment is and how horrible the service and product is, so now I will be very specific. I was (past tense because I am no longer) a regular at this shop because they used to make a very specific mixed coffee drink for me, that included a protein powder, that they would blend very finely into my black coffee, so it would taste like hot chocolate. This was the perfect post-workout "snack" packed full of protein and caffeine to keep me going after a heavy duty training session. I drank this nearly every single day. I constantly asked if there would be healthy snacks, instead of the sugary ones they had, considering I knew the owner to be Ashley Horner, who is a self-proclaimed fitness expert (spoiler, found out she has no certifications.) Well, as time went on, recently I haven't been able to get the same service as I used to, and my drinks became absolutely disgusting, and that's to put it mildly. It's disturbing to go to drink a sip of my coffee, only to be met with CHUNKS of I'm not sure what, in my drink, because the barista was too lazy to blend my drink. The barista doubled as the photographer for the owner, and she would take up restaurant bar space with her equipment, so much so you can't sit down at the bar, and if you did, you received a nasty look from her, as if how dare you wait for and drink your coffee at the coffee bar. When I asked about what I could purchase that would help with the unbroken foundation, she seemed bothered yet again, by having to pick up a menu and some other piece of paper, to answer my question. I was also met with more rudeness, with her telling me I could just buy anything, because "it's Ashley Horner stuff." But that wasn't my purpose, my purpose was to support a foundation, not "just buy stuff." Additionally, you'd think the owner being present would help the service improve, but instead it does just the opposite. It takes even longer to get food and coffee, and you get a first hand experience of what it was like for apparently her old staff, to be treated so poorly, that they all had to quit (yes as in 13 people at once.) Which then made sense why I couldn't get the same drink I had ordered every day for so long. Even after explaining how it had to be put in a blender, to taste right, but still never listened to. Now the service is so poor, it is not only not worth your good, hard earned money especially from a Gold Star family member like me (meaning your loved one died during service to our country), you also have a good chance of being treated just as poorly. I recently visited American Brew and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I ordered the pancake platter with scrambled eggs and bacon, but was shocked to find that the bacon was undercooked and the scrambled eggs had eggshell pieces in them. This was a major letdown as food safety and proper cooking techniques are crucial in any dining establishment. The only redeeming aspect of my visit was the iced latte I got, which was decent. However, the lids aren't all that sustainable as my drink was leaking at the top & ended up spilling on my pants. It was disheartening that this was the only item I could truly appreciate from my order. Overall, I was not satisfied with my experience at American Brew due to the issues with the food quality. I hope that the cafe takes steps to improve their cooking standards and ensure that all dishes are prepared correctly in the future. read more

I don't even need to have the coffee or the food to know this is a five star place. Just do a pipehitter workout and you will realize this lady knows how to grind! There's barstool seating at the countertop facing the grill and a few chairs at a carved wooden tabletop facing the large window. RoJo Coffee also has some outdoor seating options under a large tree. The menu is very impressive with specialty lattes and teas, and energy drinks, too. The breakfast and lunch menu offers a variety that's sure to please everyone's taste buds. I truly enjoyed the Belgian Waffle that comes with their house made mixed berry compote and powdered sugar, along with pure maple syrup, and house whipped cream. I liked how the chilled compote, syrup, and whipped cream were served in separate containers so that I could dip! Nice touch! The Belgian Waffle was fluffy and tasty! I also enjoyed my choice of The Lola (White Snickerdoodle Latte) specialty latte with oak milk (extra charge) that features white mocha, cinnamon & vanilla. My husband really liked his order of the Breakfast Burrito with bacon, noting how tasty their house salsa was. His specialty latte was The Moose which is their honey roasted peanut latte (toasted marshmallow, peanut butter & honey). Our orders were taken by the mother of one of the owners. She was very friendly and pleasant, telling us to take our time looking over the menu. She pointed out the month of May specials, and you could tell how happy she was to support this small business. The environment didn't appear to be well maintained, and it made the experience feel unsanitary. What concerned me the most was watching an employee fill my boyfriend's iced coffee with tap water directly from the sink. That completely changed my confidence in how drinks are prepared. Good coffee is important, but cleanliness and proper food handling are just as important. I hope they address these issues because the coffee itself has a lot of potential.

I don't like to write bad things about small restaurants but this was more of an uncomfortable…read moreexperience then anything. Me and my two coworkers wanted a coffee as we worked before a meeting upon entering we were not greeted but informed that there was no restroom so it was take out only. We still sat to have our coffee. The employee seemed annoyed with our presence. The cafe was dimly lit and the tv was so loud it was obnoxious. My cookie butter latte was delicious but the employee being rude to customers who came in after us was off putting that we left.
