Absolutely Horrible Experience - Avoid This Company at All Costs I have never dealt with a more unprofessional and incompetent company than American Dismantling. Since April 1st, I have had to email them DAILY just to get sales tax removed from an invoice--something that should've taken five minutes. Not only did they completely ignore every single email, but when I called again for the 10th time, I was on hold for 20 minutes. When I finally spoke to someone, their accounting person clearly had no idea what they were doing. Not only were they rude, but their tone was disrespectful and condescending, like it was somehow my fault they couldn't process a basic request. They even lied, claiming they called us about the resale certificate earlier in the year, which absolutely never happened. Their lack of professionalism is staggering. They sell parts that are garbage and unethically add a "sold as is" stamp to their invoices after it is signed and paid for, so if there is an issue, they try to fall back on that. I gave a 500 deposit at 2:30 and and an hour later had to call back and ask for a refund because when I got home I found out my dog had a medical emergency and needed surgery and they told me no refunds even on just a deposit that they took only an hour ago! Go to a regular pick-a-part place that will physically show you the part before you pay for it. These imbeciles think that showing you a picture on a computer screen legit. These guys are a joke and are not physically capable of showing good customer service. If your looking to purchase a door they will give you a price for it but when you get there they try to sell it to you piece by piece and do not guarantee it will be complete after you pay for it and once you physically see the door and it's not complete they will charge you a 20% restocking fee. I called them about a part and even sent them a part number and they said they had it and after I drove a hour to come get it and see the part it's not the part I'm looking for at all . Even though I sent them picture of part and part number . The part they showed me there even had a part number on it which didn't match the one I gave them . All they had to do was look and make sure the part number matched and the pictures matched instead of wasting my time and gas . DONT GO HERE FOR YOUR PARTS!!!!! Don't make the same mistake I did . This place is a huge scam! I called in advance about a hood for my truck and they confirmed they had one so I had gone to leave a 200$ deposit because I really needed it. When I went to pick it up they said they didn't have it anymore and they still charged me 20% if I wanted my money back. I went here years ago to buy a seat for my GMC stake bed . I paid $100 for a cloth driver seat which was still very good. Just a bit dirty. They pulled out the seat from the wrecked truck and gave it to me. I then had it washed and installed in my stakebed truck. It's been a few years and the seat is still good . Plus it's Soo comfortable. I'm going back later to get another seat for my passenger side. Highly recommend this place. read more

I bought motor for 2016 Kia forte on 7/27/2020 for the amount of $2300 I spoke to Gentleman by the Name Fausto about the condition of the motor he assured me the motor has 40K and also assured me they check the motor by starting the engine to make sure the engine has no problem. I bought the engine for $2300 receipt #173536 . On July 30/2020 My Mechanic finished installing the engine the engine had rod knock I was upset call back American auto dismantling same guy Fausto told him about what he told me that how great the engine was and low miles . i told him I spent $825 installing the engine and I was looking to see if they can help me with some of the coast . He told me he is not responsible for any repairs and this is the same guy who lied to me about the miles and great condition . I asked to speak with the owner they said the owner dose not speak to customers .This people are not trustee worth .Its shame I wont be abele to trust or do business with them. Attention all Gerber Locations please do not use American Dismantling any more, I have always had a great experience with them until today i called for a warranty issue, i repaired VW Passat just back in January and the headlamp they supplied now has condensation in it so i called and they stated they only offer a 30 day warranty on their part  and the person who answered was not friendly at all  ot be clear we cannot use parts that have a 30 day warranty on our DRP repairs so I will no longer be using them and I recommend the same for all locations... read more

I'm pleased that they had the part in the color that we needed. Customer service was as expected for a place like this. We waited an hour for the part, not ideal for our situation. We called hours in advance to verify stock and advised about what time we would arrive as we were driving over three hours. The reason for my rating is how sketchy it felt when trying to pay for the part. We were told the total and pulled out our bank card to pay. They advised they didn't accept card payments. We looked at the gentleman then at the card reader that was in plain sight. He then corrected himself and said they could not accept card payments for purchases over $350 that we would have to pay cash. We advised we didn't have enough cash on us to cover the full cost. He then corrected himself again to advise he could take a partial card payment and the remaining would have to be in cash. The situation could have been specific to the employee. Either way I got the part I needed and paid a decent amount for it. Whatever sketchy nonsense they've got going on is their business. Just bring cash when you go and you won't have the same issue we did. read more

Purched a so cauled low milage engine on 3/27/17 was drop off date. Car was finished on 4/12/17. Engine went bad on 7/18/17 and they would not warranty it or evan work with me to find a replacement. NEVER BUY ANTHING FROM THEM AGAIN. I have owned a repair shop in Pasadena for 35 years and have never been treated like this befor. Don't trust thise guys. I Checked car-part.com to see if they had a part- Air filter box for 1999 7.3 diesel f250. It said American auto dismantling had 2. It also showed a picture of a truck for one. I drove 30 miles there on sat 8-20-16. I was there at 12:45pm. I had a printed out picture of the part i needed. I had a printout from car-part.com showing the stock numbers. The guy working there really didn't want to look at either. He sent someone to get the part and they brought out the incorrect part. I told him I wanted one listed on car-part.com. He said those ones already sold. Apparently they do not update their inventory list online. The employee was not apologetic or very helpful. read more
