I've ordered takeout from this awesome restaurant a half a dozen times. The food is always delicious and handled and packed with care. But they also go the extra mile by saying "thank you for your business, we really appreciate it" sincerely. They also leave handwritten notes tucked in with your food. 10 Stars for American Grub. The food was delicious! I had the bacon blue cheese burger with fries, it was amazing! The flavor was so go and the blue cheese did not over power the bacon which it some burgers it does, it was just right. Paired with a hazy IPA topped it off. I also like that this place reps their city, people who work in Tustin get a discount! The area is super cute and a hometown vibe, I love it. I am just not thrilled. Ordered three burgers via delivery and boy, for $10-13 each, was not only surprised by the overall quality, but none came with any kind of side. I mean, it's a regular burger, decent and all..but for $10-13 before tax, you'd expect some fries or at least a small tub of slaw or potato salad. Overpriced for what you get and I see on the images from eating at the venue...burgers with potato salad. So you don't get a side if you order delivery? PS - you gotta love an establishment responding with the ol' "quality justifying the excessive cost" and then actually admitting that if you order the same burger for delivery vs at the Restaruant, you get less (no "house-made" potato salad for we folks who order delivery). It was so hot out here but the food was really good! A girlfriend and I went out here for some drinks, a burger, and fries and it didn't disappoint. I got the AG which was yummm since I love bacon on a burger. I also got garlic fries and it was very large so definitely share! also, definitely give the beer flights ($8) a try- or just order the tangerine IPA :D which is my favorite since I hate dark beers (you can drink your bitter fermented wheat water but i love myself dude). The service here is good, the cashier was friendly, both of them, the blonde girl and guy! Overall, if you're looking dor some good American Grub then yes this is the place. Went to this place for a lunch meeting. We sat on the patio which was really nice. The food was great. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Sandwich because they said they freshly smoked it that morning. It was served on a Brioche bun & was delicious. I also shared an ordered of the Garlic Parm Fried- omg addicting. Lots if fresh minced garlic so if your not into garlic, these may not be for you. What a disappointment. Came in to try the place. My daughter has an egg allergy. They couldn't tell us if there used egg in their burger. Left us waiting for twenty minutes. While 5 employees stood behind the counter chit chating it up. We asked for help again and the waitress response was I don't know . Go somewhere else. My wife and I order from AG at least once a week and it never disappoints. I highly recommend any of their burgers or the honey spicy chicken. The French fries and onion rings are also spot on. AG always has great service wether we eat on the patio or pick up takeout. read more

Several of us are stationed in the Santa Clara area for two weeks. We came to Tustin to check out a different restsurant which couldn't (wouldn't?) handle a group our size. We happened upon American Grub and we couldn't have been more pleased. Sandi, the hostess, was welcoming and glad to see us. it took only 15 minutes for room to come available. Our server was Parris. Separate checks? No problem. Parris was friendly, appropriately attentive to our group's needs, very prompt and professional. The food was tremendous. Several of us had burgers or burritos. I had a baked salmon sandwich that was out-of-this- world delicious. Our group is here for about two weeks. if we can make our schedules work, we will try to pay another visit to this gem of a restaurant in the adorable town of Tustin, California. read more

Owner has other well established business in the city and this place only eight months old has already a steady following of regular customers (this was our second visit this week). A note on prices: Some reviewers have correctly stated that AG does have higher than average prices for their burgers and sandwiches. And that is a good point; an average burger (good not great) should bear an average price just as a better (great) burger is worth a higher price. Just finished an amazing lunch with Shauna as an efficient, charming and attentive server. The managers were ever present, touching tables and refilling waters on a hot day. The restaurant was sparkling clean and so cute. The Wyatt Earp burger, Cajun tots, shrimp and farro salad and BLT were all delicious. The tiny paper cup of potato salad that comes with sandwiches is DELICIOUS! The only thing I didn't like was the iced tea- it didn't taste like it was freshly brewed. Stopped in for lunch with the wife, our first visit here. Excellent food, service and a very friendly staff. We enjoyed the onion rings here as they were not greasy and the size was perfect for us. Wife got the beef dip, very good and large too. 1/2 went home. I had a burger, perfect, just Perfect! Potato salad was also very good. My mother, father, and I enjoyed our burgers, and the potato salad that came with it, but noticed that the meat was very dry. My brother noticed that the kids Mac and cheese was very oily and gave it to me and my dad and we both agreed with him, I'm sure it will get better with age. The sandwiches/burgers are pretty good except for the patty doesn't have a lot of flavor, but the cheese, onions, etc. give it enough flavor. I really enjoyed the onion rings because they come topped with Parmesan and the garlic fries because the fries have tons of fresh garlic on top. The fries are crinkle cut and while I usually prefer thin, shoestring fries, the crinkles help keep the garlic on so it's all good. read more

He was a little over whelmed but said "I can get you a table in 15 minutes." I could see they didn't have a 4 top available at the time so I told the guy, cool no worries we will be right here. About 5 minutes later Abraham walked by asking if I got helped. I responded yeah we're just waiting for a table of 4 he said oh give us 15 minutes till a table opens up. About 20 minutes later, about 5 parties arrived after we came. The older flustered gentlemen in glasses. Comes out to everyone saying well I guess there's a list now so go inside and out your name on the list. I'm confused as 5 parties put there name on the list and I tell Ashley that I've been waiting no one ever told me there was a list. She said well who did you talk to? I replied well I talked to the older gentleman and Abraham. Well Ashely called out to Abraham as I'm standing there. He turns around from behind the counter saying I never told him anything he just came in now he wasn't waiting at all. She looks at me and says we'll help you as soon as we can, there's some parties ahead of you. I'm confused because I've been waiting for 20 minutes when there was no one ahead of me in line. My sister said we talked to Ashely and asked if we could sit in the sad. So Abraham looks at us and yells at me. "I don't know what to tell you, but we have a different party sitting here." My sister in law responds and says I can't sit in the sun we requested this table because it's in the shade. Without hesitation Abraham replies " if your so scared of the sun then I'll go get you and umbrella." First of this kid doesn't know my sister medical history of why she can't sit in the sun. So why have a little attitude and even respond like that? After that he turned his back to us and started telling us we can sit somewhere else And none of this is his problem. I told him why can't you look at me when your talking to me or responding your just going to turn your back to me and argue with me? My sister asked Abraham is there anyone else we can talk to besides you and Ashley. Abe responded with his back turned to us " no there not here and they can't help you." At this point my whole families upset and angry we don't even want to eat here anymore. Shortly after I go inside to ask for the 2 workers names. Little did they know I was walking inside to talk to them. Ashley and Abraham are talking about us in front of my face later realizing once they looked up I heard everything they said. I told Ashely this Is definitely the worst service I've ever had. She looks at me with a big old smile laughing saying "I'm so sorry" then walks away. Definitely never coming back here. Nor would I ever recommend this place. Kimberly you sure hired a fantastic crew to support your brand the food must be worth this customer service .
