He also diagnosed a dead 3-way switch in the hallway -- turned out the prior electrician had wired it wrong on a single pole -- and converted it properly to a 3-way. Knocked out a kitchen can light switch while he was at it. All done in about an hour. No other electrician was able to figure it out the closet light kerfuffle, but Victor did! Turns out he has nearly 30 years of experience! Second visit, Victor and Francisco came out to remove a 6" recessed can light and splice onto the switch leg to power a new ceiling fan I'd had installed. Clean work, everything labeled, no loose ends. Done in about 2.5 hours. Rates are fair ($125/hr), they show up when they say they will, and Victor clearly knows residential electrical inside and out -- he doesn't guess, he diagnoses. Initial consultation - Dan and Xochitl came to our house, where we had in-person kickoff session. We walked around the property together, where they both carefully listened to how our ideas around how to the use the space, and indulged our numerous 'newbie' questions. Design phase - Xochitl took all our ideas and took a couple of weeks to think deeply about what our outside space could be transformed into. And, boy did she deliver! She and Dan unveiled their vision to us at our next in-person meeting, where Xochitl had drawn out a stunning illustration of what the final design would look like. We loved it so much, it's now framed an hung on our wall. You can talk about designs all you want, but it's only when you see it in front of you that the vision truly comes to life. Execution - The team indicated when they would be available to start our project (after finishing the ones they had already committed to), and they were true to their word. And when everything got started, it was a whirlwind until completion. I don't think there was even a single day where someone from the team wasn't on-site, pushing things forward. Finances - One thing I appreciated immensely was Dan's transparency around the finances involved. He provided a detailed, itemized quote at the on-set, and set out clear processes around payment cadence. That left no room for surprises. As I kept walking in, they also have a store inside with random cute things like candles, decorations, jewelry, baby clothes etc. Smelled nice and clean inside. Saw staff taking care of the outdoor plants. So I found a cute plant but when I got to the cashier to pay, I asked if she happens to know or see if they had a bigger version. To my surprise she answered with "what we have out there is what have. Have you seen a bigger a version?" Honey, I wouldn't have asked if I saw one wouldn't I? Kind of disappointed with her reply. But maybe she's new not sure what the situation is. They have plenty of succulents to choose from if you're into them. The prices for the plants were fair.

This is the only Home Depot that employees greet their customers that I've been too. I usually go to the garden center as they have a larger variety of plants in comparison to East Bay. Plants selection is huge and are well taken care of. I find more tropical fruit plants here compared to where I live. Employees are eager to assist. I only had one horrible experience for a plant return with a female Hispanic associate with red hair questioning me. She pulled the citrus tree out of the soil and accused me that this isn't a tree. Given that the tree had died and shriveled up, I return what I had purchased under their 1 yr plant guarantee. She called a manager and no one showed up and was having a fit. She reluctantly processed my return but in the future, I won't try to save a tree and return it immediately once it goes bad because of her interrogation. I used to purchase a lot of fruit trees but it is no longer a hassle free transaction, purchases have been more restricted.
