I came in to American Nails & Spa because it's close to where I live and heard relatively good things. However when I got here my experience was extremely below average. I picked the specialty pedicure of the month hoping that it would include some extra massage and good product. While it included all of the product, I was left soaking my feet for 15 minutes waiting on someone and by the time she started, the water was cold. She barely massaged at all and I am not happy at all to pay the hefty price tag that came with. I am not usually a complainer but I will never come here again. This was the single worst pedicure I have ever received and not worth $70 in the slightest. I will continue going to Legacy Nails and Spa because they actually are worth the cost. read more

Unforchanately had a bad experience here. I went in for the first time to this nail salon for a mani pedi and waited over 25 min to get seated. The nails turned out mediocre and i payed $60 for just my nails which isnt very cheap. After having them on for 3 days almost all of them were chipped and I was unhappy with the result. When I called back and asked for them fixed, they said they would be able to no problem and when i got there they were not very understanding about the situation. They asked for my warranty card which I was never given. So tip: keep your "warranty card". The same lady that did them fixed them, and made 4 of my nails bleed from drilling them so hard (hopefully unintentional) She also had me wash my nails with a used brush. not to mention none of the ladies except the front ones spoke english which made it difficult to communicate and get my point across. If I could give zero stars, I'd do so in a heartbeat. This place was great about 5 years ago but has continued to go downhill. I've given them many different chances to redeem themselves but every time I'm disappointed. I'm officially done. I walk away with bleeding cuticles every time I've gotten a manicure. The massage portion of the manicure is 20 seconds, max. I usually do a shellac manicure but last time they talked me into trying dips. NEVER again. They completed destroyed my nails with the drill (and actually didn't even clean up my cuticles). When I went to another place for a manicure, they thought I'd had acrylic nails for years due to how damaged my nails were from the one time doing dips at American Nails. With the many other choices for nail services in the area, I'd definitely recommend trying anywhere else before here. read more

American Nails and Spa is the BEST place to go for any service! They are very professional and very experienced. I have been looking for a place to do Dipping Powder for a year. They made my nails look amazing. I also had a Chocolate Covered Strawberry Pedicure that was the BEST massage I have had on my legs. It smelled good enough to eat. Last week I made appointments for four manicures. The technicians were rude and rushed through the manicures. Cuticles weren't trimmed. One girl had to ask to have the sloppy polish cleaned up. Although we were patient with them and waited the time without complaining, when they did finally call us up the associate which was a women with short blonde hair was very curt and cut me and my friend off anytime we started to ask a question. I came into the nail salon for a mani and pedi and ended up getting a toe infection, paronychia. My toe is swollen and red and throbbing. It hurts to walk now because of the inflammation and pain. I called the salon to tell them, not hoping for anything in return. I just wanted to notify them so they could sanitize the area and tools so this wouldn't happen to any other customer. However, the manager instead was rude and said it was my fault and didn't even want to listen to my advice to clean the tools and station. I would not recommend this salon for many reasons. First, I received and infection. Also, the business was not willing to change the sanitary process to fix this. If anyone decides to go here, I hope they don't get an infection. read more

SO disappointed with this salon. I called ahead and made an appt, still had to wait 25 minutes. I was there for a shellac french mani. They only spent a total of 20 minutes on my nails, they didn't remove all of the old polish underneath, so I could see red spots under my french and I had bubbles everywhere. It's only been 5 days and its alreadu chipping. You would think with paying $37 (before tip!!), you wouldn't have ANY complaints. It drives me absolutely crazy when I see 4 to 5 different techs on their phones and ipads. Also when you are a cosmetologist and know how certain pedicures are suppose to go and what each step is, but they mix it all together, that's really disappointing knowing your were skimped. Having an appointment means nothing, I waited over 45 minutes before they put me in the pedicure chair, then I sat there for another 15 minutes before they ran luke warm water for me to soak my feet in. This is a very over priced salon. I'd say the worst in Omaha. They rush your pedicures and don't put the paint on nicely, I could have done a better job. They rush every service they do. I got a shellac and it took a good ten min for 31 dollars. Every other place I've gotten my pedis or manis- they use a timer and take their time to do an expert like job. I will Never go back (took me 3 tries to finally give up on them) save ur money people and go anywhere else. They also charge more than anywhere else in Omaha for the most terrible job. I moved to Omaha last year and found American right away. The first experience was uneventful but pleasant. The second was much better, thought this would be my nail place and had been going here fairly regularly. But each subsequent visit has been sadly disappointing, with my most recent visit yesterday one of the worst nail experiences I've ever had. I truly felt like my 14 year old niece was doing my nails, not to mention they look that unprofessionally done as well. I used to love this place and would take friends and family there. I gave a lot of their gift certs as gifts for Christmas/Mother's Day as well. Lately I've felt so rushed in there. I thought it was just me, but my mom, sister, aunt and two friends refused to return with me last time I asked them. Pedicure was fine but my shellac manicure was terrible. The shellac started peeling after one day so I went in and they redid the nails it was peeling on and two days later it started to peel again. I would never recommend them for shellac. read more

I made an appointment for a full set and pedicure. Let me add I have had pink and white and acrylics for approximately 30 years so this is not new to me. I wanted a new set of liquid gel nails. They told me that they would be thinner and more natural. I thought perfect!! So after all said and done my nails looked thicker and not natural my pink and white looked better. Plus I paid $105.00 for something I will have to go tomorrow and get fixed. NEVER again and NO I will not recommend American Nails!!!! My sister and I chose this place because we heard this was Best of Omaha, and waited more than an hour. I was there for a pedi and french nails. I picked out my polish for my toes, she took it back and picked out a color not even close to what I had chosen. My toes look like my 8 year old grandson painted them. The French nails were next. All I got was white at the tips, no light, no nothing else. An hour after we left the shop, my nails were already chipping off. Today, 2 days later, I have 2 nails with no chips. Nice salon but pedicure was rushed and not very relaxing. Manicure was also rushed and technicians aren't very engaging. My nails are longer on one hand than the other and filed unevenly. I had a 60 minute massage as well that was nothing more than a woman rubbing hot stones and oil all over me. There was no "massaging" involved. I would venture to guess that she was not a licensed massage therapist as I did not see any licenses hanging anywhere stating so. All in all in was a very ho hum experience and as a new resident to that area, I will keep searching for my salon. read more

The only reason I'm not rating this salon lower is because of one nail tech, Sarah, who does a fantastic job every time and is very conversational and friendly. I made an appointment on a whim last week, however, and Sarah was unavailable, but I took my chances with a different tech--big mistake. My acrylic nails were rushed through, and I was completely stressed out throughout the whole appointment because the shape I asked for was not turning out correctly and the techniques used on me for shaping and applying the powder were some I'd never seen before. In the end, I left disappointed, but not livid, as my nails were completely different shapes and the polish application was uneven. When you're paying $40+ for acrylics, even ones are expected. My polish chipped two days after application, and one of my nails fell off completely within 5 days (and I'm not hard on my nails at all!!) Now I actually am livid, because when I went in to get them fixed, I had to insist on another coat of polish for my chipped nail and the reapplication of my other nail was rushed and messy. I was excited about getting my nails done today. I haven't had them done in a long time and always loved going there. When I got there, it was busy, which doesn't bother me. What bothered me was when they said it would only be a 20 minute wait and I sat in the lobby for 50 minutes. When they finally took me back to the nail part of the salon, I had to sit and wait yet another 10 minutes for someone to start on my nails. There were only maybe 3 people doing nails. When the lady that was going to do my nails came to me we had to move to another part of the nail part of the salon. Things were fine until she put the wrong color of acrylic on my nail and tried to scrape it off and wound up burning me twice with one of the machines. It hurt like hell. She kept apologizing, and I was nice and said that it was okay, but she didn't look experienced enough to me. I usually have a great experience with this place, but today it just was awful. I may go back, I may not. I haven't decided yet. If I decide to go back, I do not want the same woman doing my nails. read more

I arrived at 545 waited for my friend. She wanted me to start. I said I'd like to wait. She rolled her eyes walked away, over half chairs empty. Then at two min. to 6 she said is she on her way very snotty? We were not late or holding them up she arrived promptly at 6. Then we noticed the girls not cleaning the stuff in between clients. This used to be my "must go to" place...begged the hubby for gift cards, etc...even though they are a bit pricier, the pedis were worth it.....Now, not so much! Each time i go, it's a crapshoot. They turn nobody away...they will just let you wait for an hour and rush the people in front of you so they can make the almighty $$$. Good luck going on a Sat morning.
